Okay so..We were going to wait to do an episode on the entire series, but let's be real here: we love talking about X-Men (if the last 4 or 5 episodes weren't evidence enough of that). In the spirit of being the mutant FREAKS we are, here are the first 4 episodes of the new X-Men 97 series (that due to technical issues, is a week late #sorrynotsorry). PREVIOUSLY, ON X-MEN...We had to. You know that we had to. Anyways, X-Men 97 premiered yesterday, but instead of covering the first two episodes of that series, we decided to revisit its origins: X-Men The Animated Series from the 90s. What we didn't do is cover every single episode of all 5 seasons, but instead, we picked 17 episodes (a few from each season), to talk about and discuss. Are they our favourite episodes and arcs? Our beloved Batman The Animated Series ended in 1998, and a year later, the next version of the character debuted in Batman Beyond!  "Rebirth" is the two parter that kicked off season 1, and we cover it in here - all about the shoes it had to fill coming off of Batman TAS and how, at the same time, it being its own possible classic

This one is a throoowback. Watching this as a kid is a little different than watching it as an adult.As a kid, I saw a dude flying around in a super cool costume and bad guys a plenty trying to shoot him down and that was fun.As an adult, this one is very reminiscent of Iron Man (2008) but with the mob, old school planes, the mob, nazis and a dude flying around in a super cool costume.

The concept of this book is incredibly unique and it has a way of grabbing our interest on that alone. Do you know who Genndy Tartakovsky is? You better. The man has had his hand in many projects you probably loved, but this time, with this series 'Primal', he's outdone himself.What do you get when a T-Rex and a caveman form a bond over shared trauma? Well.. we don't use the word masterpiece loosely, but this series could be in the conversation. OR we could be lying to you and we absolutely hated this show. WE DID A COMIC BOOK FOR FIRST GLANCE AGAIN!A little over the top but we were probably excited. Now that that's out of the way, let's take a look at Crypt of Shadows #1, Marvel's comic book version of Treehouse of Horrors.We get stories centered around Scarlet Witch, Hulk, Deadpool, and Daredevil, with a bunch of other characters and cameos. Of course the themes and faces we see get us to start talking about other properties and what could come in the future.

We're gonna be honest with you here... This is a movie. A movie from 1984. A movie from 1984 where a guy is transformed by barrels of toxic waste into some hulking monster who can sense evildoers and proceeds to break, beat or melt them with his bare hands. He also wears a tutu. The Maxx.What more can be said about this property. If you are not familiar with this comic (or cartoon) and you consider yourself a big comic guy (or gal), that title for you is debatable. Sam Kieth created something so unique, so interesting, so special here that you need to check this out. Not should; need. Is it a superhero comic? Is it a trip? Is it confusing and charming and disgustingly beautiful? Yes to all of those things.Read this book. Watch the show. They have different endings so it doesn't matter in which order you do that in, but once you're done both? Fun fact: Gideon Falls Volume 1 was the 7th Arc Analysis we ever did, and the first one we made it's own drop. Even though that was years ago, Volume 2 was always on our minds to return to because this book stays with you. Atmospheric, tense, creepy, gripping, psychedelic, creepy... Did we say creepy yet? This picks up right where Volume 1 leaves off, following the conflicted Father Fred in one version of the town and the disturbed Norton in another. Well it took a while but, sometimes those whiles are worth the wait. And it's almost safe to say Immortal Hulk is  that one of worth. As soon as this movie was revealed, we knew we had to see it. Drugs and animals?! What could go wrong?? The trailer looked fun, too! Once upon a time, way back in the early to mid 90's, there was this super cool, super edgy cartoon where humans had turned into mutants and they all played sports. In these sports they played, it wasn't uncommon for an athlete to lose a limb or three, or come close to a brutal death. This was Mutant League. Despite our childhood subconsciousness' best efforts to lead us to believe that this show was incredible, it was not. It is not. It really isn't very good, but it did make us laugh.

This time it's all about spies, MI6 and gadgets galore: James Bond and Ninjak. How similar are these two chaps? Well, aside from body armour and actually being a ninja, pretty damn close. This time around, for our 4th go at AxP, it's The Fox and The Bat: Zorro and Batman. Zorro enters his 101st year in 2020 and Batman his 81st, so it isn't hard to tell that these two have HISTORY. They also have a ton of similarities, and one is partially based on the other, hence their comparison in Across the Pages! The movies we cover are 1998's The Mask of Zorro, and 1997's Batman and Robin.The books we cover are Zorro: Sacrilege, and Batman: Gothic. Needless to say, there are both very high and very low points in this episode... Very, very low points...

Spider-Man the Animated Series from the mid-90's is always going to hold a special place in our hearts because we grew up with it. The perfect spider-man personality and we can't help but compare other versions of the character to this one. The Mutant Agenda and Mutant's Revenge are episodes 4 and 5 in of the second season, and in this bottle cap, we go in on them. It's an epic crossover event of X-Men being pulled into Spider-Man's hometown of Queens. How could this not be a perfect review, right? We go in. Spider-Man the Animated Series from the mid-90's is always going to hold a special place in our hearts because we grew up with it.
