- 308 - Fire & Ice [Bottle Cap Review]
In 1983, Ralph Baksi's Fire and Ice dropped and it tells the story of an evil queen and her son, set on conquering the entire world shortly after the ice age.Against them, stands one man (and help, so clearly not 'just' one man) from a destroyed village who takes it back to the evil frozen empire in this rotoscope styled film. A little over 40 years later, how does this bad boy stand up to the test of time - and was Teegra's body all natural?? Those are the big questions here.
Thu, 18 Apr 2024 - 24min - 307 - #87.0 - X-Men '97 [Epi 1-4]
Okay so..We were going to wait to do an episode on the entire series, but let's be real here: we love talking about X-Men (if the last 4 or 5 episodes weren't evidence enough of that). In the spirit of being the mutant FREAKS we are, here are the first 4 episodes of the new X-Men 97 series (that due to technical issues, is a week late #sorrynotsorry). We talk about the character arcs thus far, dive into each individual episode and what we like - and don't like - about the early goings of the series. Buckle up, bub.To me, my New Meatz and Sawft Cheezes. --Follow the Weapons on Twitter @Comic_Patrol for some extra tidbits of fun (we maybe promise it isn't Morph dick pics)--

- 305 - #86 - X-Men TAS: One Big Saturday Morning
PREVIOUSLY, ON X-MEN...We had to. You know that we had to. Anyways, X-Men 97 premiered yesterday, but instead of covering the first two episodes of that series, we decided to revisit its origins: X-Men The Animated Series from the 90s. What we didn't do is cover every single episode of all 5 seasons, but instead, we picked 17 episodes (a few from each season), to talk about and discuss. Are they our favourite episodes and arcs? Not necessarily, but they are all very memorable ones, and cover a lot of the popular points of interest the series had. Please keep in mind that we have already covered the following arcs in older episodes: The Phoenix Saga The Dark Phoenix Saga Beyond Good and Evil In this episode, we will be covering: Night of the Sentinels (S01E01-E02) Deadly Reunions (S01E04) Til Death Do Us Part (S02E01-02) Red Dawn (S02E04) Repo Man (S02E05) Obsession (S03E09) Savage Land, Strange Heart (S03E12-13) Sanctuary (S04E03-04) One Man’s Worth (S04E09-10) Weapon X, Lies & Video Tapes (S04E16) The Fifth Horseman (S05E05) Graduation Day (S05E10) --Follow the Weapons on Twitter @Comic_Patrol for some extra tidbits of fun (we maybe promise it isn't screaming Xavier dick pics)--
Thu, 21 Mar 2024 - 2h 06min - 304 - Ghost Machine #1 [Arc Analysis #75]
Image Comics is about to enter the shared universe... universe. And Ghost Machine is the introduction to the first few characters that will be taking part in this world. Dive in and check out the issue for the several stories that are here: post apocalyptic radioactive anti-heroes, farmers with animal controlling helmets, and a red coat who can't seem to die are just a few examples of what is to come with the new Ghost Machine universe. --Hit us up at comicpatrolpod@gmail.com if you want to add a submission for a future Arc Analysis-- --Follow the Weapons on Twitter @Comic_Patrol for some extra tidbits of fun (we maybe promise it isn't radioactive dick pics)--
Thu, 14 Mar 2024 - 27min - 303 - If You Die In The Woods, Does Anybody Care? [Arc Analysis #74]
No, seriously. Ask yourself: "If you die in the woods, does anybody care?"This playfully dark book by Steve Steiner kinda explores this. Deep in the woods of Big Hole Park, people are going missing and it's up to the pair of rangers (and a lost infomercial host) to figure out who or what is murdering these hikers.. be it man OR beast. It's either that or keep hiding the bodies themselves... --Hit us up at comicpatrolpod@gmail.com if you want to add a submission for a future Arc Analysis-- --Follow the Weapons on Twitter @Comic_Patrol for some extra tidbits of fun (we maybe promise it isn't beaver pics)--

THE HOX POX DOX has returneth !! Being big Jonathan Hickman fans (still), when he was entrusted to take over the new direction for X-Men, we were jacked(initially). That had us follow the first run of X-Men: Dawn of X, House of X, Powers of X and the eventus they built up to X of Swords. Hey there. Yes, you, reading this description.Have you ever been curious about what a world war would look like if it was based on old people who live forever vs the younger generation who are living under the old geezer's thumbs? Oh, you have huh? Well what if I told you to add no less than two types of super soldiers into the mix and a woman from the future who has special powers that become stronger when she has sex?Ya, I didn't think so. Thu, 23 Nov 2023 - 17min - 287 - The Rocketeer [Bottle Cap Review]
This one is a throoowback. Watching this as a kid is a little different than watching it as an adult. As a kid, I saw a dude flying around in a super cool costume and bad guys a plenty trying to shoot him down and that was fun.As an adult, this one is very reminiscent of Iron Man (2008) but with the mob, old school planes, the mob, nazis and a dude flying around in a super cool costume.
Sat, 18 Nov 2023 - 24min - 286 - Bitch Planet Vol 1: Extraordinary Machine [Arc Analysis #68]
The concept of this book is incredibly unique and it has a way of grabbing our interest on that alone. 'Bitch Planet' is the nickname given to a prison planet that was built to house disobedient females, away from Earth, which was controlled entirely by rich males in power. This story is about what goes down on that prison planet and some of the prisoners on it. --Hit us up at comicpatrolpod@gmail.com if you want to add a submission for a future Arc Analysis-- --Follow the Weapons on Twitter @Comic_Patrol for some extra tidbits of fun (we maybe promise it isn't clown dick pics)--

Do you know who Genndy Tartakovsky is? You better. The man has had his hand in many projects you probably loved, but this time, with this series 'Primal', he's outdone himself. What do you get when a T-Rex and a caveman form a bond over shared trauma? Well.. we don't use the word masterpiece loosely, but this series could be in the conversation. OR we could be lying to you and we absolutely hated this show. Wed, 01 Nov 2023 - 15min - 283 - The Toxic Avenger (1984) [Bottle Cap Review]
We're gonna be honest with you here... This is a movie. A movie from 1984. A movie from 1984 where a guy is transformed by barrels of toxic waste into some hulking monster who can sense evildoers and proceeds to break, beat or melt them with his bare hands. He also wears a tutu. In other ways, I just made that up for dramatic effect!Anyways, this is the continued misadventures of a high school for assassins, and it's very 80's in the most fun ways. How are Marcus and Maria getting on after the stuff with Chico? How does Says work into the mix? Is Chester (aka Fuckface) getting closer to his goal? (disclaimer: we had some issues with the recording so the audio for this one is a little rough) Have you ever had one of those days? You know the days where some ish goes down that's so bad it makes you question your whole sanity and state of mind? You might just have that devil in ya. That chicken devil. That's the crux of this book: a regular family guy has things happen to him and around him that turn his life and lifestyle up to 11. It's a ride, kids. --Hit us up at comicpatrolpod@gmail.com if you want to add a submission for a future Arc Analysis-- --Follow the Weapons on Twitter @Comic_Patrol for some extra tidbits of fun (we maybe promise it isn't fluff pics)-- #numeatz #sawftcheeze

Sat, 20 May 2023 - 20min - 258 - Six-Gun Gorilla [Arc Analysis #53]
I thought I knew what this book was about, just off the cover and title. I bet you - the person reading this blurb right now - think you have an idea what this book is about. But you don't. I promise you you don't. OKay, sure, there's a gorilla in it who shoots guns but I mean after that. It gets political, it gets sci-fi and it gets trippy. And there's a gorilla in it who shoots guns. There's that too.
Thu, 11 May 2023 - 36min - 257 - Six Guns [Arc Analysis #52]
How many guns? Six. How many characters? Si--FIVE. Gotcha!Six Guns is indeed about six guns, but it's also a story about a collection of people uniting over a common enemy and a throwback to old western Marvel characters. Characters with dope names like Two Gun Kid who - guess what - has two guns.
Thu, 04 May 2023 - 19min - 256 - First Glance: Disney Villains: Scar #1
This was an interesting one for us, because who (our age) doesn't love the Lion King?!And we do like our villains too, with Scar being one of the most charismatic ones. This is the first chapter of his backstory, but is it any good?
Tue, 02 May 2023 - 11min - 255 - #77 - John Wick & Punisher [Across the Pages]
Across the Pages (AxP) is our series where we take two similar-ish characters/teams/properties from different creators or publishers and give their various forms of media a well-deserved spotlight. Two men who have a close relationship with violence and revenge, but I guess losing everything will get you to that point faster than anything else. We look at the comparison's between the two and give a glimpse into their blood-red worlds. In this episode, we cover: John Wick (2014)Punisher: War Zone (2008)John Wick Vol 1 (2017)Punisher MAX, Vole 1: In the Beginning (2004) --Follow the Weapons on Twitter @Comic_Patrol for some extra tidbits of fun (we maybe promise it isn't dick pics)-- #numeatz #sawftcheeze
Thu, 20 Apr 2023 - 1h 01min - 254 - Shirtless Bear-Fighter! 2 [Arc Analysis #51]
SHIRTLESS IS BACK, BABY!! Maaannnnnn, the level of excitement for this was *real*. THE Shirtless Bear-Fighter comes back for a second volume. The first book was one of our favourite surprises while doing this show: it was hilarious and endlessly entertaining. So much so that it begs the question: was a sequel even necessary?Listen on in if you're curious to know if this sequel was more Godfather 2 or Boondock Saints 2... there is no in-between.
Fri, 14 Apr 2023 - 35min - 253 - Saga, Vol 1 [Arc Analysis #50]
It's Saga time! For our 50th Arc Analysis episode, we wanted to do something big, and what's bigger than this space opera story?? It's Romeo and Juliet. It's Star Wars. It's Harry and the Henderson's. Okay, not so much that last one, but it does lean on a lot of family value themes and you know what else it is? Weird. It's really freakin' weird. But I guess that's what you get when you have two people falling in love from opposite sides of a galactic war, in a space where the royal family has TVs for heads.Enjoy volume 1!
Fri, 07 Apr 2023 - 33min - 252 - Cocaine Bear [Bottle Cap Review]
As soon as this movie was revealed, we knew we had to see it. Drugs and animals?! What could go wrong?? The trailer looked fun, too! We walked into Cocaine Bear expecting maybe some sort of version of Sharknado or Zombeavers but that's not what we got. With a decidedly higher budget and better talent than those historical films, Cocaine Bear *should* be a slam dunk for those who like crazy, silly movies, as long as it doesn't switch up tones 3 or 4 times during its runtime...

Fri, 25 Sep 2020 - 2h 14min - 248 - Mutant League: Opening Kick Off [Bottle Cap Review]
Once upon a time, way back in the early to mid 90's, there was this super cool, super edgy cartoon where humans had turned into mutants and they all played sports. In these sports they played, it wasn't uncommon for an athlete to lose a limb or three, or come close to a brutal death. This was Mutant League. Despite our childhood subconsciousness' best efforts to lead us to believe that this show was incredible, it was not. It is not. It really isn't very good, but it did make us laugh.

Mon, 24 Aug 2020 - 1h 15min - 245 - #42 - Bat Meat
Back in April, DC Comics Twitter sent out a simple question - which 3 books are in your reading pile out of the following nine: Batman The Dark Knight Returns Batman Gotham by Gaslight Batman The Killing Joke Batman The Long Halloween Batman Knightfall Batman Year One Batman The Court of Owls Saga Batman Hush Batman R.I.P. In today's meaty episode, we break down the exact definitive top 3 list (it really wasn't that hard) from this selection. Full spoilers for all these stories within this episode.

Wed, 05 Aug 2020 - 57min - 242 - X-Men TAS Beyond Good & Evil [Bottle Cap Review]
If you know Comic Patrol, then you know we can't help but bring back snippets of our beloved 90s comic book cartoons. This time around, it's a deep cut from season 4 of the X-Men Animated Series which should have (and kind of is) essentially the series final arc: Beyond Good and Evil. It's Apocalypse, it's Sinister, it's Magneto, and telephaths and time manipulation and an existensial crisis.. It's a lot more Wolverine than makes sense. But hey, that's the 90s baby!

Fri, 17 Jul 2020 - 1h 32min - 240 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Secret History of the Foot Clan [Arc Analysis #12]
[Keg Week Pt 5] The final entry in our first ever Keg Week, and we'd like to say that it is a doozy. Published in 2012, The Secret History of the Foot Clan sheds light on how the ninja gang got it's checkered start while also linking it all to the present day. We can't even pretend like it's a bad comic. It's good. It's really, really good. Listen in to find out why... Or eff off. -- If you want to request a comic book arc for Arc Analysis, hit us up on twitter or e-mail us at ComicPatrolPod@gmail.com --
Fri, 10 Jul 2020 - 29min - 239 - TMNT: Out of the Shadows [Bottle Cap Review]
[Keg Week Pt 4] Michael Bay can't help himself. He just can't. This movie proves that, even if it is his best version of the Turtles... while compared to the abysmal 2014 film. There is a lot to talk about when it comes to TMNT: Out of the Shadows because there are both good, and bad things about it. A heap more of one of those things, but listen in to find out whether it's the good stuff or the bad stuff we're highlighting.
Thu, 09 Jul 2020 - 45min - 238 - #40 - TMNT Crossover Comics
[Keg Week Pt 3] Welcome to the middle of our TMNT Keg Week, and return of Comic Patrol. What started out as a part two to our "Odd Crossovers" (Epi #34), quickly became a TMNT Crossovers episode based on two things: 1. How many crossovers the Turtles have been in since their conception, and 2. How much we fucking love the Turtles. These aren't every crossover they've ever been in, but there are definitely some standouts from Miyamoto Usagi to X-Files to Power Rangers, we've got em here.So listen up or eff off
Wed, 08 Jul 2020 - 1h 28min - 237 - Batman vs TMNT [Bottle Cap Review]

Sun, 28 Jun 2020 - 1h 37min - 234 - Bloodshot Vol 1: Setting the World on Fire [Arc Analysis #10]
Just in time for the movie to come out, Bloodshot (bang bang!) is here in comic book form for the 10th installment of our Arc Analysis series. Disclaimer: This book has a lot of blood and a lot of shots, which is fitting to it's name. It was part of the 2012 Valiant Universe 'reboot', and is the starting point for one of their main flagship characters. It's gory, it's bloody, it's action-y, but do the Weapons dig it? See inside... -- If you want to request a comic book arc for Arc Analysis, hit us up on twitter or e-mail us at ComicPatrolPod@gmail.com --

Thu, 27 Feb 2020 - 1h 07min - 232 - #38 - Comic Books Based on Video Games
Comic books and video games have a long(ish) history, going back a few decades: sometimes adaptations, sometimes continuations, sometimes filler and other times trash. With co-host Dank away in another galaxy, we have our 3rd(ish) team member fill in, who just happens to love video games as much as Coke does: introducing Whippet! The two Weapons go through a bunch(ish) of video game based comic books and how well(ish) they translated to this wonderful form of media. There was a list made for both co-hosts to cover the same books, but instructions weren't followed so there are more books in this episode than originally planned...This episode contains spoilers and/or brief looks at the following books:- Injustice- Infamous- Mercenaries- Mass Effect: Redemption- The Witcher (2014)- Tomb Raider: Discoveries- Tomb Raider (2014)- Ratchet & Clank- Sonic the Hedgehog (1993)- Sonic Universe- Mega Man (2011)- Mortal Kombat (1994)- Mortal Kombat X- Resident Evil (1998)- Halo: Breaking Quarantine- Halo: Fall of Reach - Boot Camp
Thu, 20 Feb 2020 - 1h 21min - 231 - Prince of Cats [Arc Analysis #9]
You've never read anything like this before. Trust us, you haven't. Oh, you have, huh? You've read an 80's, hip-hop influenced, samurai-themed spin on Romeo and Juliet, that positions the title characters out of the spotlight to focus on Tybalt (and his underground sword-dueling gang) instead, while written in iambic pentameter? Is that a yes? Well then, keep it moving, I guess... But for those of you who have yet to experience Ronald Wimberly's 2012 (or 2016 rework), please listen in as we talk about Prince of Cats for our 9th installment of Arc Analysis. -- If you want to request a comic book arc for Arc Analysis, hit us up on twitter or ComicPatrolPod@gmail.com --[Check out Bobby Carillo on YouTube for that song at the end of the trailer, and others like it]
Thu, 13 Feb 2020 - 40min - 230 - #37 - Zorro & Batman [Across the Pages]
Across the Pages (AxP) is our series where we take two similar-ish characters/teams/properties from different creators or publishers and give their various forms of media a well-deserved spotlight. This time around, for our 4th go at AxP, it's The Fox and The Bat: Zorro and Batman. Zorro enters his 101st year in 2020 and Batman his 81st, so it isn't hard to tell that these two have HISTORY. They also have a ton of similarities, and one is partially based on the other, hence their comparison in Across the Pages! The movies we cover are 1998's The Mask of Zorro, and 1997's Batman and Robin. The books we cover are Zorro: Sacrilege, and Batman: Gothic. Needless to say, there are both very high and very low points in this episode... Very, very low points...
Fri, 31 Jan 2020 - 1h 25min - 229 - Zorro: The Gay Blade [Bottle Cap Review]
Ok, wait. Let us explain! This isn't what it looks like... ok, it is exactly what it looks like: an 80's Zorro parody flick where Zorro injures himself and his flamboyant twin brother takes over the cowl in the meantime. That's really it. Oh ya, plus some solid laughs and not as many gay jokes as you might expect (there are definitely still gay jokes and the like tho). We break this movie down - one of us for the 1st time and the other for the 50th time, this is our bottle cap review of Zorro! The Gay Blade.

Tue, 21 Jan 2020 - 38min - 226 - #36 - Sony-So-Far-Verse
We had another episode idea slated and sketched out, but with the new Morbius trailer - and the thoughts that come along with - we switched things up and tossed out the episode outline. This is a little bit different: no script, no show prep, no notes - we just have a discussion about the new trailer, the Sony-Spider-Movie-Verse, the relationship with Marvel Studios, their other planned movies, and what it all might mean through the drunken lenses of us,. D'Lethal Weapons.
Thu, 16 Jan 2020 - 46min - 225 - Batman TAS: Two-Face Pt 1 & 2 [Bottle Cap Review]
It has been a long time coming, but we have finally bottle capped a Batman TAS arc: Two-Face Pt 1 and 2. Arguably the best cartoon from our childhood, this story takes place across season 1, episodes 10 and 11, and is the birth/beginning of Harvey Dent's full transformation into Big Bad Harv A.K.A. Two-Face. How does Batman deal with his mentally ill friend turning full heel, while crime rings around Gotham grow stronger and more bold? Tue, 14 Jan 2020 - 29min - 224 - #35 - Twelve Death Days
Merry Christmas! This was supposed to be our very festive Christmas episode, where we twist the 12 days of Christmas into the 12 days of comic book deaths.... But, our December was a mess, and so you guys are all getting this wonderfully joyous episode later than anticipated. And you'll like it too, goddammit. In this one, we talk about and rate (because we're morbid like that) a dozen different character deaths spanning Marvel and DC comics; from Jason Todd to Wolverine to Nightcrawler and Black Adam, hit play to hear it all.
Thu, 09 Jan 2020 - 1h 01min - 223 - Gideon Falls Vol 1: The Black Barn [Arc Analysis #7]
There are SO. MANY. BOOKS. And because of that, we are breaking away from our usual episodes, and bringing you the first (of many) independent Arc Analysis series episodes. The first one up - or 7th if you've been keeping up - is the creepy and moody Image Comics' Gideon Falls: The Black Barn (issues #1 to #6) buy Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino. Thu, 31 Oct 2019 - 1h 00min - 217 - #30 - Doom Patrol & Umbrella Academy [Across the Pages]
Across the Pages (AxP) is our series where we take two similar-ish characters/teams/concepts from different creators or publishers and give their various forms of media a well-deserved spotlight. This time, we've got a couple uncanny teams to talk about: Doom Patrol and the Umbrella Academy. One of them a group of super-powered "siblings" collected from all over the world at birth, the other a group of misfits and mishaps. We give our thoughts on both first seasons of the shows for each property, as well as an arc from each comic book history: Doom Patrol's Crawling from the Wreckage and Umbrella Academy's Apocalypse Suite. --Follow the Weapons on Twitter @Comic_Patrol for some extra tidbits of fun (we maybe promise it isn't dick pics)-- 0:00 D'Lethal Weapons Intro Meat and Potatoes - The flavour of the day and main topic of discussion for the given episode after general chit chat and an absolutely terrible introduction. The Mutant Agenda and Mutant's Revenge are episodes 4 and 5 in of the second season, and in this bottle cap, we go in on them. It's an epic crossover event of X-Men being pulled into Spider-Man's hometown of Queens. How could this not be a perfect review, right? We go in. Thu, 12 Sep 2019 - 05min - 211 - Spider-Man TAS: The Insidious Six [Bottle Cap Review]
Spider-Man the Animated Series from the mid-90's is always going to hold a special place in our hearts because we grew up with it. The perfect spider-man personality and we can't help but compare other versions of the character to this one. The first 2 episodes of the second season, we are introduced to the Insidious Six (Sinister wasn't allowed to be used on a kid's show - so says censorship). Add in the fact that Spider-Man is experiencing bouts of losing his powers, he has to take on a group of his rogues at once. This is our bottle cap review of this 2 episode arc. --Follow the Weapons on Twitter @Comic_Patrol for some extra tidbits of fun (we maybe promise it isn't dick pics)--
