Thu, 30 Sep 2021 - 37min - 1439 - 5 Daily Rituals for Finding Acceptance in Yourself
What does acceptance mean to you Beauty? Acceptance is a big word, right? I think it's something that we all aspire to because with acceptance comes peace. It comes with feeling mellow and not that frantic energy of not enoughness and struggling and self worth issues. All the things that really take us down and make us feel the opposite of peace. It makes us feel a low vibration and it makes us feel that struggle in daily life. While we may want the acceptance there's this acceptance surrender. It sounds really nice. It sounds so peaceful. We need practicality when it comes to implementing these concepts in our life. I think it's really important to recognize and to have real tools and strategies in place. I can say for me in my own life, as I go deeper and deeper into this work and it starts to become more and more practical as well. In the beginning, when I was writing about food, it would be very practical to combine this and eat that in the morning. And now I'm really getting to that place when I talk about spirituality and the mental and emotional concepts of acceptance. I really like the practical tools because I know that they have helped me so much. And I love to share what has helped me, with you. You are my sister, my brother and I do believe we're all connected. Be sure to tune in for practical tools to implement in your daily life and to start living from a place of acceptance that's right for you!
Mon, 27 Sep 2021 - 35min - 1438 - Where Does Feeling Not Good Enough Stem From?
Have you ever wondered where this "not feeling good enough" stems from? I think we can all relate to this. I know I personally can have this sort of underlying feeling that nothing we do is good enough where we keep looking around and seeing what other people are doing. And we start to have that feeling inside of us. You know, some feelings we can't really describe with words, but it's this energy that is demoralizing and depleting. It can be frustrating because it feels like as much as we try to do. And as much as we hustle and as much as we run around, we just still don't feel good enough. And we're going to be talking about that in today's show. This is something that I think is a really big issue for a lot of us and something that I'm really passionate about sharing about in a really concrete way. And I will say this now, as the excitement starts to build, this is a huge part of my next book where it is a very practical guide and I can go far deeper into tools and strategies. And that's on the horizon. It's called You Are More Than You Think You Are. The pre-sales are starting in about a month, and I want to talk about these topics that I think we all need to share about because this is what will help us the most. Even if our diet is really great, even if we're doing our walks every day or exercise, but we aren't healing that disconnect inside of us, then this is going to have a huge, detrimental effect on our lives. I'm really, really excited to get into our topic today.

Mon, 20 Sep 2021 - 51min - 1436 - How to Boost Personal Growth and Build Confidence
I don't know who amongst us hasn't felt some self-doubt and question our ability to belong or our ability to achieve what we want. And what we really want to talk about on the show today is distinguishing between false confidence and true confidence. We can really work on building that true confidence, which is sustainable, even if things don't happen to go our way that day. We can really build this through our lifestyle with our Four Cornerstones of food, body, emotional wellbeing and spiritual growth. Just like any other topic, whether it's digestion or beauty or today we're talking about confidence, it really is the most effective way to approach it from this holistic cornerstone perspective. I'm really excited to start talking about this because confidence is a big area that I cover in my new upcoming book and why all these topics feel very top of mind to me. It’s called, You Are More Than You Think You Are - Practical Enlightenment For Everyday Life. Confidence is something that I've been writing about and really delving into. And today I want to give you a little snapshot of what the philosophy behind that is.

Mon, 06 Sep 2021 - 1h 06min - 1432 - Digging Into What A Spiritual Practice Looks Like
What Does A Spiritual Practice Looks Like? Spiritual growth is one of our four cornerstones here at Solluna, our others, our food body and emotional wellbeing and food body and emotional wellbeing are obviously a little bit easier to define and broad. When it comes to spiritual growth, we get a lot of questions about what is and what it means? How is it different from religion? What are you talking about with spiritual growth? I'm so excited about this topic today because it gives us the opportunity to have a conversation about this and to really get into spiritual growth. To me the most basic definition has to do with awareness and self-connection. It's not about religion and these belief systems where we're separate and have different dogma philosophies. It's a lot more broad to me. Spiritual growth has to do with how awake, connected, and aware we are of who we really are. Who we really are in yoga language is referred to as the true self. I always share with you guys what works the most for me and I feel spirituality is so important to talk about and is not something we want to push to the side. It all starts with the interstate, our connection to the true self. And that is the core of what we talk about with spiritual practice. Have you been wondering about this very topic? If you want to know the answer to this question and 3 more sent in by Beauties just like you, listen now to find out! Remember you can submit your questions at https://mysolluna.com/askkimberly/
Thu, 02 Sep 2021 - 36min - 1431 - Being Free of Numbers in All Areas of Your Life
This is a very powerful concept that if you start to really experience it, wrap your mind around it and make it part of your life, it will free you and your energy in so many ways. This has been my experience for over 10 years, when I wrote the Beauty Detox Solution, and discovered a different way of eating that was beyond calorie counting and numbers. That was the beginning of the journey for me in tapping into more expansive energy. But that was not the end. Then you can start to realize that numbers actually make me feel small or feel lack in other areas of my life. What I mean about being free of numbers is not giving them all of our power. It means that we don't put our self-worth and our identity in a number. Whether it be your weight that shows up on the scale or the number of people that you manage at your company, or social media followers, number of friends, salary, whatever it is, numbers are finite. They are one way, one of looking at something, but they are not everything. We need to go beyond food to really feel our best, which is why I’ll be discussing this with our Four Cornerstones in mind, which are food, body, emotional wellbeing and mental health and spiritual growth. Be sure to tune in to find tips to free yourself of numbers for good.

Mon, 23 Aug 2021 - 1h 11min - 1428 - Your Lifestyle and How it Affects Your Overall Wellbeing
How does your lifestyle affect your overall wellbeing? Today we're going to be talking about how we live our lives holistically from a four cornerstone approach. This means the way that we eat, the way we take in physical nourishment, the way that we take care of our body, the way that we take care of our emotions and our mental health and the way that we take care of our spiritual growth, which has to do with awareness and awakening into who we really are. All of these different aspects of our lifestyle can work synergistically to elevate our vitality, to elevate our wellbeing. I like to reinforce that our strength and our power lies in our wholeness. When we live a lifestyle that really reflects this wholeness and it reflects our intention to support ourselves in all levels and all different parts of our lives, we really do get the best results. We feel the best. We have the most energy. We look the best as well. That's important to us too. Outer beauty is a reflection of inner health and inner vitality, and we experience more peace and more grounding and our lives feel more fulfilling and more meaningful. In contrast, if we hyper focus on one area of our lives like food, or we get into that spiral of obsessing over a body, or norming our mental health and pushing ourselves too much or whatever it is, we start to feel lost. We start to struggle more. We start to feel more anxiety. We don't feel as grounded, and then it becomes more and more difficult to create what we want, including healthy relationships, including a peaceful life. We just start to feel more and more off. I'm so excited about this topic today because it really highlights our ability to work on a holistic level and just how powerful it is.

Mon, 16 Aug 2021 - 49min - 1426 - How to Celebrate Life Even During Difficult Shifts
How can we celebrate any good that happens in life when we have difficult shifts happening at the same time? I hear you Beauty and acknowledge the conflict that arises. We all go through these shifts in life, which feel constricted, smaller and tight, as opposed to the expansive times, which feel really happy, joyful, and cheerful. As we go through these natural shifts as humans, we want to have tools and strategies for navigating life when it does feel difficult and how we can process difficulty. It's not about pushing down feelings or pushing them away because then they often come back or they come out in different ways, such as anxiety, food cravings or difficult digestion and many other ways. We really want to process and then move forward. I know it's a particularly trying time for a lot of us with the pandemic and with a lot of shifts, there may be shifts in your job and your work. This is such a beautiful, deep topic. And I can't wait to get into it today and provide you with some practical tips and tools to help get you through it. Be sure to tune in!
Thu, 12 Aug 2021 - 32min - 1425 - The Importance of Grounding Your Energy
This is something I didn't really understand or focus on for a really long time. I didn't really even understand what grounding really was. Grounding, essentially, is about being here now, being in your full power, being in your full strength and living your values, living your intentions. It's the opposite of being spacey, flighty, and confused, or running around. It's easy to feel spacey quite honestly, in today's world with a lot of fast-paced information coming our way. We're doing a lot of different things. We're running around. We're in our heads a lot. We're on our phones a lot. You can tell when someone isn't grounded because they're not really there. You don't feel that full strength and power in them. Grounding is when we close the gap between who we want to be, what we say we believe in, in the world and really living it and being a walking embodiment of that truth. There are very specific tools and practices to help you be grounded, to ground your energy. And it's enormously powerful. When we ground, we have the ability to create more of what we want. Whether that is beautiful relationships, a fulfilling career, the body that we want, the energy that we want and so much more. I look forward to diving into this topic with you today my Beauty!
Mon, 09 Aug 2021 - 47min - 1424 - Are You In A Rut? Reboot Using The Four Cornerstones!
We all get in ruts. Let's be honest. We all have ups and downs, and sometimes we think that things are going really well and we're cruising along and then snap! Something happens or we just get off track, and then we start to feel like we're in not such a great place. This is a natural pattern that we see in nature as well, there's expansion, and then there's times of contraction and pulling inward. What we want to do is recognize that ups and downs are part of life and part of the natural cycle, and at the same time, we don't want to stay stuck and feel stagnant in a rut. We want to have the tools and practices to move through the rut most effectively, most efficiently and not feel this stuck vibe. So we're going to get into the holistic approach, which is what the Four Cornerstones are all about: food, body, emotions, and spirit. It means that we are going to get past that issue in the best possible way, because we are working on the level of wholeness. Have you been wondering about this very topic? If you want to know the answer to this question and 3 more sent in by Beauties just like you, listen now to find out! Remember you can submit your questions at https://mysolluna.com/askkimberly/

Mon, 26 Jul 2021 - 1h 02min - 1420 - Key Practices Towards Spiritual Awakening
As we define spirituality, it has to do with a greater awareness and connection. Awareness of who we really are, of the beauty in each moment and of how to connect deeply with yourself and with others. The yogis call who we really are the true self. And the false self is all the surface, the ego, the thoughts, the personality, the hair, the skin, all the things that we identify with on a surface level. When we work to connect on a deeper level with that true self, along with having a great surface appearance, it's a doorway into greater self-connection, self-love, and confidence and connection to our gifts that we can use out in the world to help other people to our life's calling. We feel so light, peaceful ,and joyful as we move about our day. And we don't take things as seriously. We're going to care about what we look like. We're going to care about things like our weight, however, we have access to this inner world. We are also so focused on our inner state, we start to connect within ourselves so that all of the tendencies to control things on the outside, or be over anxious about things on the outside, starts to fade away. Spirituality is, in my opinion, the most important thing in our lives to work on cultivating, to work on in general. It's one of our cornerstones, the others are food, body, emotional wellbeing and spiritual growth. Spiritual growth influences all the other ones. It is something that I would love to support you with because I know that it is the greatest gift. It is the most impactful thing that we can do.

Mon, 28 Jun 2021 - 55min - 1412 - Managing Your Energy Using The Four Cornerstones
One of the things that has always consistently come up in questions is energy. And who amongst us doesn't want more energy, more vitality as we move through life? A little bit more pep in our step. A little bit more sparkle in our eyes. We all want more energy. We want to feel energized and to feel really alive. I love this topic and I love that today we're going to be talking about taking a wider approach when we look at energy and the different topics throughout our entire lives that affect all different parts of our lifestyle. It's really important that we incorporate this holistic approach, which really honors and supports us as humans and our wholeness. Our cornerstones, again, are food, body, emotional well-being, and spiritual growth. I'm in love with our philosophy, because I find that it really is so effective. I've been able to coach a lot of people with their food and their diet. However, to really get sustained levels of energy, vitality and all around well-being, which is really about our peace, joy, and our connection to the true self, we must go beyond food.

Mon, 21 Jun 2021 - 1h 04min - 1410 - Tips To Transition Into The Solluna Lifestyle
This week’s topic is: Tips To Transition Into The Solluna Lifestyle What's really important about today's show is the emphasis on lifestyle. What we teach here is not a fad. It's not a diet that you hop into and hop out of and try for 21 days. We're really working towards a sustainable, long-term lifestyle that will enhance and nourish all aspects of your being, physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually. And that's really how you get the best results. And you feel your best, you feel your most energetic, you feel your highest vitality, and yes, you will also look your best because everything is so intimately connected. When we play on the surface with just makeup or the calorie counting game, we may get some results, of course. However, to get the deep, lasting, life-changing quantum leap sort of results, then we want to take this wider, holistic approach, and we want to transition in. If we go all in sometimes, then we pop all out, that all in mentality. On, off, that yo-yoing, that really doesn't help us in the long-term. Today I want to go through some real tips and strategies that will help you stick to this for the long-term. Even if you take five steps forward, two steps back, three steps forward, one step back. Sometimes two steps forward, one step back, we're continuously growing and building and building on a foundation that's solid. And so, even when we feel like we're off, even when we go on vacation and totally throw everything out the window, or we have those off weekends or whatever it is, we are not going back to ground zero. We are continuously building and building, sometimes at different rates of growth, but we're still continuing to grow. And really, that's what this lifestyle is all about.

Mon, 14 Jun 2021 - 56min - 1408 - Why We Cling To Attachments
Attachments are really this futile way that we project out our fears and we try to cling or control things in the outside world, as a way to try to feel soothed and to feel safer. In reality, we already know on some level, that controlling doesn't work and attachment doesn't work. It actually pushes people and opportunities away. Connection is where we want to be, where we feel connected to ourselves. We want to feel connected to others, but attachment crosses the line and it's really different functions, different ways the ego tries to play out, and the ego is not the true self. When the ego doesn't feel good because the ego is limited, the ego tries to utilize these different tools, which in the end are ineffective and they don't work. We’ll be discussing why we cling to attachments and how this plays out in our life. How do attachments look to you in your life? Keep introspecting as we go through the questions and keep reflecting back and keep relating this to your own life. There is a very potent antidote and different tools that we're going to work into our discussion today. Instead of clinging to attachments, I’ll be sharing the tools that will work instead of trying to control the outside world.
Thu, 10 Jun 2021 - 39min - 1407 - Top Tips for Focus
From a Four Cornerstone perspective, I’ll be sharing with you the most powerful approach for focus. When we take this holistic approach, we are able to really embody the benefits of whatever that topic is. Think about a baby. If we just give the baby healthy food, healthy breast milk, the baby will do well to an extent, but the baby also needs healthy, loving touch. The baby needs to be held, bathed, and has other needs besides just food. When we give the baby all of those holistic benefits, then the baby starts to grow and thrive and really giggle and be happy. And so it is with us. We want to really honor our wholeness. When we do that, we get the best results, period. Very simple. Our cornerstones are our food, body, emotional wellbeing, and spiritual growth. I'm going to go through them now in that order so you can start using my top tips for focus in your life.
Mon, 07 Jun 2021 - 29min - 1406 - Mindful and Intuitive Eating Practices
When we see what's going on with our relationship to food and our relationship to diet in general, it can be indicative of other deeper imbalances in our life. For years I've been talking about how skin gives us a deeper indication of our inner health and our inner state of well-being. For example, what we see physically in our skin, whether it's acne, accelerated aging, rosacea, or eczema, these physical manifestations on the surface give us clues about how to heal and correct on a deeper level. What I love about this particular topic is that food is physical in the same way that our skin is physical. It's more of a dense energy. Everything's energy, everything's moving, but it appears more dense. And therefore, it can be physically seen by our eyes. However, when we look at some of the imbalances that continue to manifest in our lives around food, diet, and cravings and we can't get rid of them, I truly and deeply empathize from my heart. I've lived through a lot of those issues and understand what it's like to be in it. I also understand the bridge that's needed to be crossed into healthiness. And I'm so excited to be sharing those principles and ideas in a practical way with you here today.

Fri, 28 May 2021 - 55min - 1404 - Reset Your Emotional and Mental Awareness
Our emotional and mental awareness has so much to do with the physical world. It has to do with what comes up for us foodwise with food cravings, how we deal with, take care of, and treat our bodies. A lot of the issues in our bodies often start with our emotional and mental energies. There's a lot of impact that can come from being more aware and learning to process our emotions. This all comes from our Four Cornerstone Philosophy, which is food, body, emotional, well-being and spiritual growth. Today, we're going to be diving into our third cornerstone, and how it applies all through our life. It really makes such a big difference. For me, when I started understanding this, it became a game changer. It's 10 years now, since the Beauty Detox Solution was published. I remember back then I really thought I had it figured out, food combining, simplifying. It’s huge and impactful, however, it isn't everything. And so when I started getting into this emotional awareness and emotional digestion and processing, it's when I went from base camp to the summit, and it has manifested in daily life. I have a lot more clarity, a lot more energy, and so much more ease. I want nothing more than for you to have amazing results as well.

Mon, 24 May 2021 - 54min - 1402 - Preparing Your Body for Summer
Summer is this beautiful welcome time where we can start to feel more extroverted, open, and energized. And, we really hope to take advantage of more time in nature. Along with that, we tend to wear less clothing while we’re at the beach and pool parties, and many of us start to feel self-conscious about our bodies. Over the years, I certainly have experienced my own battles with body shame, beating myself up, and extreme self-criticism. I've been able to balance a lot of that just from working with our Four Cornerstones and connecting to the deeper parts of myself, which helped me from hyper-fixating so much on every little part of my body and body shape. This topic lends itself really well to really bringing out this idea of the four cornerstones; food, body, emotional well-being, and spiritual growth. It is an essential practice to treat ourselves as whole beings, and to nurture and honor that. When we do, we really start to embody this wholeness and stop fixating so much on the surface, and it starts to soften that rigidity. It becomes easier to maintain your weight and to have a healthier relationship with food. There's nothing wrong with looking great in the summer and wanting to look great, as long as we don't put our full worth and our identity into our bodies. It becomes an extension of our connection with ourselves and feeling really good. And then when we feel really good, it emanates out and we like to share. And then we feel good on the inside and outside.

Mon, 17 May 2021 - 59min - 1400 - The Four Cornerstones and Self-Care
The Four Cornerstones and Self-Care is such an important topic. We talk about it from many different angles, but I cannot emphasize enough how this lifestyle is really about promoting our own wholeness. And when we feel our wholeness and tap into the truth of who we really are, it eliminates the need to get more attention or to be seen as special. When we talk about the cornerstones, it’s about wholeness and is the way to feel your best and to live your best life. And yes, to look your best too is to go wider and to become holistic and to focus your energy into all of the cornerstones instead of taking a deep dive into just one of them, such as food. The cornerstones are food, body, emotional wellbeing and spiritual growth. A lot of us tend to go into food and body because it's so physical and so dense, we see it every day versus the emotional spiritual sides, which are actually as impactful. And as we go along the journey, we will see more impactful on all the things that we want to balance, whether it's our weight, our skin, hormones or our fertility, it's all really related. And it is an essential part of self care to really, first of all, embody this and to understand that self care is really about that self love, it's really about treating ourselves as the whole amazing, complete beings that we already are.

Mon, 10 May 2021 - 55min - 1398 - The Killer Of Joy: Expectations
We don't usually use that term, killer, but it is pretty dramatic in our lives. How much our joy just gets sucked out of the moment of a situation of the day when we put the heavy cloth of expectations on top of it. This plays out in many different ways from the way that we perceive our body or the way that we show up in the world in relationships, in our work and our career. This is a big one to tackle so we can start to bring that shining light of awareness and healing and move forward more expectation free. Let's start to explore the subtle and not so subtle ways that we put this heaviness on ourselves, and as time goes on we start to realize that we do have free will and we do have a choice. It's amazing when we start to step back and realize that some of the behaviors, beliefs and some of the things that we thought had to be a certain way, actually don't have to be that way at all. It moves us one step forward towards enlightenment, full liberation and freedom, which is really the goal of life.

Mon, 03 May 2021 - 59min - 1396 - How To Achieve Optimal Health Using The Four Cornerstones
This week’s topic is: How To Achieve Optimal Health Using The Four Cornerstones And here are the questions I'll be answering from the community: Is there anything I need to be aware of in each of the Four Cornerstones that could improve my overall hair health? I’ve read that protein makes a difference when it comes to hair health. I’m starting to go bald a little in the front and need to do something about it asap! When it comes to your four cornerstones, where does the body fit in? What I mean is, what comes first, the chicken or the egg? Should our body come first or mental health, etc? If there’s a history of mental illness in my family, including personality disorder, is it possible to avoid this eventuality? I don’t want to “think my way into a disorder” but I do want to take precautions. When I think of spiritual growth I think of the scriptural quote where “that by God’s power we have everything we need”. I’m not very religious. Is it possible to grow spiritually without the systems of religion? Have you been wondering about this very topic? If you want to know the answer to this question and 3 more sent in by Beauties just like you, listen now to find out! Remember you can submit your questions at https://mysolluna.com/askkimberly/

With it being Earth Day, I thought it would be fitting to talk about Ayurvedic Practices For Spring! I've been an Ayurvedic student now for several years. I've studied formally under my teacher, Vaidya Jay. I'm always asking him questions, and reading, and incorporating that deep wisdom into my own lifestyle, and I love to share it with you all. I take the parts of Ayurveda that really resonate with me, and really love the self-care part of Ayurveda. I like the synergy with nature and really considering the greater collective and the energies around us, including seasonal shifts that I think is so intelligent and really can add a lot of value into our everyday practices. That's the part of Ayurveda that I love the most is that real self-care, that individualization, which is reflected through the different body types and the different energies that Ayurveda really delves into. So I can only incorporate all of it. There is tremendous wisdom in there. Be sure to tune in for a discussion that integrates science with tips and tools on how to incorporate spring practices with Ayurveda! Find the answers to questions from you, my community. Mon, 12 Apr 2021 - 33min - 1390 - How to Live Free of Comparison
Living free of comparison is easier said than done in our world, which is so focused on imagery and social media and it is easy to compare. As we know, this can lead to suffering and to feeling that we're not enough. Comparison leads to feeling that we're scrambling to be better or get better results. We can't really enjoy where we are. Let's face it, comparison never ever feels good, even if we feel better than someone. We have this air of superiority, which doesn't last, and then makes us feel separated. And if we feel less than, of course, there's all sorts of self-worth and self-esteem issues that are also tied with that. This is something I’ve struggled with myself and have really focused on overcoming. I’ve made progress in this area and am excited to share what's worked for me.

Our mindset, our attitude, our mental energy that we bring to anything and everything in our lives has a profound impact on the results that we get and the way that we feel every day. Our perspective shapes everything. It's the energy of intention that flows through what we're doing. Whether it's our work, our day-to-day experience with our families or friends or quiet moments with ourselves, we focus as a society so much on outer form, on the outside. I’ve personally experienced this. When we focus on our inner world, the outside really starts to match up instead of going about it the other way. It’s a very powerful thing to focus on improving our mindset. This is what we're going to get into today with our Q&A. I love the show because all of it comes right from you guys, right from your hearts. And together, as we walk along this path, we can support each other and talk about all these different topics, so we keep moving forward.

Mon, 29 Mar 2021 - 1h 03min - 1386 - How To Align Your Career and Spiritual Practice
What we're really talking about here is how to create a career, a job, your work in the world that feels deeply aligned to your values and to the messages that you want to put out into the world, how you want to contribute to the world. The way we talk about spirituality in our community isn't about a formal religion or anything of that nature. It's really about connecting to the deepest essence inside of you, to your unique core, to your true self, to the light that is inside of you, and really living from that place. Work takes up an enormous part of our lives. For many of us, we spend more time with our work colleagues and on our work than with our friends and family members. This topic is about feeling aligned in your life and aligned to such a powerful world. It feels really good when everything matches up and nothing feels like it's contradicting itself. Versus, living a life where you may believe in different things and then you go to work, and you're at odds with where you're working and what you're doing. Today, we're going to talk about navigating through all of this, and how to live a truly fulfilled, meaningful, joyful, and happy life.

Mon, 22 Mar 2021 - 58min - 1384 - What is Empathy and How to Be a More Empathetic Person
Often our lives can be seen as truly meaningful in the context of the collective and in serving others and being empathetic is a way of serving others. It's about tuning in and holding space for another person and making them feel heard and seen. And that's a beautiful gift to give to somebody else. We talk about connection a lot here in our community, and it really starts with self connection. This is what our Four Cornerstones are about. We start to connect and then we also start to understand what our body needs beyond food, how to move, how to elevate our sleep, our rest and self-care. The purpose of the Four Cornerstones is really about establishing this deeper connection with yourself. This, in turn, creates optimal wellness, optimal health, energy, beauty in the true sense of beauty and true radiance that pours out of you from the inside out. Once we work on connecting with ourselves the next step is to explore how we connect more deeply with other people and relationships around us. When we start to put some focus on creating stronger connections and holding space for other people, we find that it goes both ways. We start to connect more with ourselves and with others and we feel what I would define as true success, which is being connected to your true self and your heart and living from that place.
Thu, 18 Mar 2021 - 39min - 1383 - 3 Ways to Move Past Fear and Listen to Your Intuition
This topic was directly inspired by our Solluna Circle Zoom that we had last week, which our theme this month is developing intuition. And if you're not familiar with our Solluna Circle, it's our tribal community program. You are welcome and invited to join us. It's over on our Solluna app. We had a question from someone in the group, talk about intuition and how she has ideas about things she wants to do in her life and ways to move forward, however, it's fear that stops her. And I thought about this idea of fear and about fear in my own life. I thought about how it plays out in the world, around us and what I've seen in clients. It's something that I really want to talk about today from a really personal place, because fear is something that can pretty much destroy our lives if we give into it. Fear is something that stops us from going for what we really want to create. Fear creates stagnation. Fear keeps us from tuning into our deepest wisdom, our deepest intuition, our deepest desires and loves. And it's such a destructive force when it just clouds our lives and we don't have tools and practices to get past the fear. I’m really excited to get into this topic and share ways to move past this fear and start listening to your intuition.
Mon, 15 Mar 2021 - 31min - 1382 - "Day" and "Night" Routines - Even if You Never Leave the House!
Today's show is all about "Day" and "Night" Routines - Even if You Never Leave the House! I'm a huge believer in regular and consistent practices. Even though they may seem very small, these simple steps are the way to great change. They are the way to keep building and shifting our energy. I truly believe it is better to do smaller steps and to carry them long-term rather than to bounce around, trying different things, and inevitably not really doing anything with regularity. I think that it's especially important when we've been quarantined and want to create a sense of stability in our bodies because rhythm is something that will set that up for us. We see this in nature, the rhythms of the day, light, into daytime, into dusk, into nighttime, and there's this steadiness that comes when we establish rhythms. Ayurveda teaches that Dinacharya daily practices, daily rhythms really do help to establish a healthy digestive system, a healthy sleep schedule for yourself, a healthy nervous system, healthy endocrine system, and so much in between. I'm looking forward to hearing your questions from the community and sharing tips on routines you can start today.

Mon, 08 Mar 2021 - 37min - 1380 - How to Change Your Relationship with Food
Food is one of our Solluna cornerstones. It’s a big topic for all of us because day to day, we're eating, we're putting substances and matter into our body. We can hold it, we can pick it up, we can smell it, it's tangible. It's always going to be a big part of our lives. My wellness journey certainly did start with food, as I think it does for a lot of us for those very reasons. Because we have to eat, and because we see it, smell it, and taste it. What we're going to talk about today is getting down to more fundamentals with our overall relationship to food. We can talk about vitamins and omega fats, and all of that is key and important. However, we also want to take a step back and really start to evaluate our relationship with food. If it's unhealthy, if it's controlling you, if it's taking up too much of your life, then it is time to make a shift. What we need to remember is that it shouldn't be a source of excess stress and struggle, which is unfortunately what I see a lot today. And it's something that I experienced personally. We're going to get into all of those different topics today and I’ll be sharing some tips and tools that have helped me personally.

Mon, 01 Mar 2021 - 1h 09min - 1378 - Understanding Shame and Getting Your Life Back
There isn't one of us listening to this that hasn't felt shame. It's a very heavy energy, and we want to lighten it and release it because it's such a damper on our light, on the love and the truth that we really are. We do not have to carry shame. We've been getting a lot of questions around this, which I think means that we're all starting to really take a deep dive and introspect and go deeper, which is amazing. And I have been doing the same thing. I’ve been actually processing shame that's coming up for me, and I didn't even know I was carrying it over the past year or so. On the positive side, there's a lot of healing that's coming out of this quarantine. There’s a lot of introspection, a lot of a deep dive that some of us are taking, that's been prompted by just being home, having more closeness with loved ones, and yet more quiet in some ways. It’s been a tremendous opportunity to go deeper. The word shame can bring up a lot of feelings for a lot of us, but it's such a wonderful thing to take a deep breath and go and explore, because on the other side of shame is tremendous lightness, growth, and freedom.
Thu, 25 Feb 2021 - 35min - 1377 - Stay Your Healthiest in Winter
Beauty, now is the time of year to get warm and cozy, and break out your favorite sweaters and scarves. But it’s also the time when you’re probably more cautious about getting sick, as cold and flu season hits (not to mention the global pandemic we’re experiencing, too)! Today’s podcast is all about staying your very healthiest this winter. I firmly believe that our internal state of health is the reason some of us get sick and some of us don’t. For instance, eating a proper diet for the season, consistently getting enough sleep, and nurturing our mental health are all ways we can help to fortify our internal immunity and combat sickness. We can’t control the outside environment, but we can, to a large extent, control our inner ecosystem and balance. I have a lot of good tips for you in this episode, Beauty, so you won’t want to miss out!
Mon, 22 Feb 2021 - 33min - 1376 - How to Start Your Kids on a Healthy Wellness Routine
How to start your kids on a healthy wellness routine is an interesting topic. It’s a potentially tricky topic for many of us, because we may be into wellness, nourishment, picking the best ingredients, but our little ones are in a completely different mind space. They're so present with what's in front of them from the colors, the characters and the flavors, that trying to convince them that kale is what they should fill their belly with instead of a cookie, may be a little bit tricky for them to understand. My oldest son, Bubby now is four and a half, and we're definitely starting to go through some of this. He tantrums a bit now and he stamps his feet, and he's had a taste of vegan cookies and he likes them, and he's starting to try to be independent. I definitely have some tips to share with you that have worked for our family, and some things that I have utilized with clients in the past that also have kids and are looking to transition as they have transitioned their lifestyle as well. Be sure to tune!

Mon, 15 Feb 2021 - 35min - 1374 - Digging into Why We Connect and Disconnect
The Cornerstones have been such a great framework for us to really create a system for evaluating our energy, our self-care, how well we're connecting with ourselves, food, body, emotional wellbeing and spiritual growth. And, the emotional wellbeing category, the cornerstone here is where I put relationships. Everything is interrelated and the spiritual growth part of us is also part of relationships, because the more we connect in with our essence, the more we connect out with others. However, I think when we're talking about communication and really creating healthy boundaries, healthy relationships and some of the tricky parts of human relations, it has to do with the emotions that we haven't processed. Our wounds, our triggers and stress. A lot of it, I would say falls into that category. And this is the cornerstone I think that a lot of us often could use some more work in diving in. So I'm very, very excited to hear this.

We've been getting so many different questions about relationships, which makes total sense, because this is such an interesting time where we have been forced to introspect, to go deep and to look at our lives. This includes looking at our relationships and this starts with our relationship with ourselves. Today we're going to talk about that as well, because it affects all of our other relationships. We are also going to talk about other relationships as well because relationships shape our lives. And right now, because of the global situation, we may be in close proximity with our loved ones. Maybe we don't have the quality time, maybe we’re not really connecting, or maybe there's been a distance between us and loved ones that are far away. How do we best communicate in those instances? All around relationships are super important and can have an enormous impact on our lives and I look forward to sharing tips that I use personally.

Mon, 01 Feb 2021 - 45min - 1370 - Tips for Healthy Communication to Reduce Stress
Stress is the precursor to inflammation, illness, sickness, to accelerated aging, squashing our energy and depleting our vitality. It's something that we want to reduce in our lives. The next part is that we love many of our relationships. Of course, we don't want to live without our loved ones, our family, friends, and beyond that, we have to interact with many other people, our colleagues, acquaintances, all sorts of people. And relationships, the ones that we choose, and maybe some of the ones that we don't choose, like our in-laws are still part of our lives and can be an enormous source of stress. Or we can shift the way that we deal with these relationships and ground ourselves, ground our health and these relationships can be primarily a source of enjoyment in our lives. The thing about relationships is that we all come with triggers and wounds and reactions and experiences from the past and sensitivities. Relationships can again be a little bit tricky, and today we're going to go through some tips and strategies for really fortifying your own energy and health, so that you can navigate this whole galaxy of relationships and maintain your highest health and wellbeing and enjoy yourself and enjoy life.
Thu, 28 Jan 2021 - 30min - 1369 - Creating a Spiritual Practice for the New Year
With the new year in sight, we tend to shift our focus on resolutions that will improve our physical health or our habits. If you’re focused on growing and improving your life, I also encourage you to think about your spiritual growth. The start of the new year is the perfect opportunity to begin or boost your spiritual practice! Unlike goals related to our other Cornerstones of True Beauty, like Food or Body, the goal of building a spiritual practice is a little different, as it’s harder to outline in concrete steps. For many, spirituality might seem harder to access or out of reach. That’s why I’m dedicating this podcast episode to creating a spiritual practice for the new year, and giving you specific tools and tips for getting started. Cultivating your spiritual practice will allow you to increase your intuition and self-awareness, experience more unity and oneness, and feel more expansive love. What better way to step into 2021? Let’s dive in!
Mon, 25 Jan 2021 - 31min - 1368 - Mental Health Practices to Start Today
Our cornerstones here at Solluna are food, body, emotional wellbeing, and spiritual growth. And it's very easy, very obvious for a lot of us to focus on food, because of course we're putting it into our bodies. We can see it, we smell it, it's physical in one sense, as everything really is vibrating and moving in another sense. It's easy to focus on food, but if we don't take this balanced approach and really work on all of the cornerstones, then we never get the best results. Something that I've seen time and time again over the years is how when we shift our mental health, when we start to have a different perspective and we expand and we open up and we are able to deal with stress better. We let go of rigidity and become more open and forgiving. We become more grateful and we embrace community. All these different aspects of mental health, we tend to have an easier time maintaining our weight. We have a much easier time getting rid of food cravings and being motivated to exercise, go in the sunlight, smile more and to be happier. In turn, this has a real effect on our hormones, our nervous system, our endocrine system and so many different parts of our body, and our being in general. We want to set time aside for mental health and emotional wellbeing, and this could take on many different forms as we'll get into our questions today.

Mon, 18 Jan 2021 - 48min - 1366 - What is Happiness and is it Achievable?
A lot of us wonder about happiness. I think it's something that's become a big discussion point for the past few years. There have been different documentaries, research studies and books about happiness. It shows that as time goes on, we start to go deeper and deeper into ourselves. We start to really question what life is about and realize that it's about our day to day experience and how we feel. It's not just about our side measurements, like how much money we have or how big our retirement account is or how many followers we have or just material things. It really has to do with our inner state. I've realized how precious the peace and the joy that comes from within is, and really, how few people actually have it. It's something that we can all tap into and we can create. For me, it's been the journey of taking a holistic approach with our Four Cornerstone approach with food, body, emotional wellbeing, and spiritual growth. If we just try to approach it from one aspect, then we don't really get the best results. Happiness is something that I think is our birthright. I think our natural state is to be alive, to be joyful and to feel free. This is an important topic and this is something that we can all work towards.

Mon, 11 Jan 2021 - 1h 19min - 1364 - Finding Your Passion and Living a Fulfilled Life
This is such an amazing topic to go into the New Year with. As we all know, 2020 was, in many ways, a year of introspection and evaluation. We were forced into quarantine and isolation. We were forced to really look at our lives and re-evaluate. Now that we've created that space to think about what we want to fill back in, what we want our lives to be, what we want to create and what we want to feel like in this upcoming year, we have so much choice. We have so much power. If any benefit came from 2020, it showed us how things don't necessarily have to be the way that we think that they have to be. Things can radically change, and we have the power to radically change our lives and to create something that feels amazing to each and every single one of us.

Mon, 28 Dec 2020 - 1h 00min - 1360 - Ways to Center Yourself and Limit Stress
When we think of centering ourselves to me, it's about finding our authenticity, our connection to ourselves, our voice, our grounding and our own energy centers. It means that we stop overvaluing the outside world and over-seeking validation. We stop getting so thrown off by other people's opinions and their ideas. The next part of our topic is stress and there's so many events, constant, tumultuous changes and the ups and downs of life. Everything can feel stressful if we let it. Stress is really about our perspective of things, and it's not about the actual events. We just stay very rooted and very connected, and it's a very powerful and very peaceful way to live life. This is a topic that's close to my heart, and I'm really excited to share more what's worked for me and how I'm able to become more centered in my life with you.

Mon, 14 Dec 2020 - 30min - 1357 - Tips to Avoid Gaining Weight this Holiday Season
This topic comes up pretty much every year, however, this year is a very different year because of the pandemic. In the past, our tips around not gaining weight have to do with how we best navigate parties, get togethers, and the food and alcohol that we're exposed to at these events that we may not usually be as exposed to. This year, due to being in some sort of lock down or quasi-lock down situation, the weight gain has more to do with stress eating, boredom or just having more access to all these other foods because we're home a lot more. The tips and the topics are going to shift a little bit, depending on where you live and who's in your close inner circle where there may be some sort of get together. I’ll be sharing tips that will really highlight both situations and something you can take in as we go into 2021. And hopefully things start to open up and we have more access to our villages as it becomes more safe to do so.

Mon, 07 Dec 2020 - 1h 15min - 1355 - Why Incorporating the Four Cornerstones is Critical to Your Wellbeing
When I started my personal journey I was very focused on food, which we know is very important. We pick it up, we smell it, we eat it, we touch it. We need to eat every day. Food becomes a major cornerstone of our energy. Food becomes the building blocks of our own cellular health and integrity, but food will only take us so far. This whole philosophy was created out of my own experience and working with clients and readers. Really seeing that if we want to have our highest levels of health, energy, vitality, beauty and power, we need to look at ourselves and take care of ourselves in a holistic way. When you look at the roots of holistic, we're talking about being whole, and we are whole beings. We aren't just physical beings. We have an emotional body, as well as a physical body. We have a spiritual and mental body and everything affects everything else. Our Four Cornerstones are food, body, emotional wellbeing and spiritual growth. And it is essential that we take care of ourselves in all of these areas. If we neglect one or two, we hyper fixate or obsess over one or the others. These are the things that we need to talk about as a community. I want nothing more than for you to feel your very best and everything that I know from the depths of my heart and my soul is that we need to live this holistic lifestyle and really give it the attention it deserves.

Mon, 30 Nov 2020 - 53min - 1353 - Boosting Your Mindset During Difficult Times
As we roll into the holiday season, this is an important topic because things simply are not going to be the same as other years. If we compare this year to other years, we may feel like we're missing out. We may feel sad or disappointed and this sets us up to suffer more. Rather, we can look at them in a different way and we can start to make a shift, whether that's having a little bit more extra quiet time to yourself, reflection time, or time to evaluate and peel away layers. Mindset is so powerful. There's more and more research correlating our perspective which is really the cause of stress. It's not events, but it's our way of looking at the events. Stress levels and hormonal imbalance compromise our own immunity and disruption to our digestive system and our endocrine system. There's so many things that actually stem from our mindset and perspective. This is why our third cornerstone at Solluna is emotional wellbeing and mental health. It's a huge part of wellness. Remember, it's not the event itself that causes stress and issues to our health and wellbeing, it's the way that we look at it. I know it's not always easy to make a shift to your perspective. However, I promise you that with focus and with tools and techniques and dialing in your practice, it is possible. This is a really beautiful time to focus on this topic as it is getting into the darker days and I'm really excited to hear your questions about boosting your mindset during these difficult challenging times.

Mon, 23 Nov 2020 - 49min - 1351 - Creating Abundance and Gratitude In Everyday Life
I love this topic because I'm someone that has ventured out on my own so to speak. I had this big around the world backpacking trip, which lasted over three years. And I came back with very, very little money. I was very broke, and I really had to create my life from the ground up. I know what it's like to feel down on your luck. I literally know what it's like to barely be able to pay the rent. And I know what it's like to go into Whole Foods and not be able to get all the organic food that I would like to have gotten back then, because I simply couldn't afford it. I also know what it's like to turn it around and to create your outer world from your inner world. Today I'm really excited to share some of the tips and concepts that have really worked for me over the years around abundance and gratitude.
