But just like the living in saying podcast in The Feminine Edge Collective, sometimes we talk about a lot of different topics. Mon, 11 Sep 2023 - 15min - 345 - Syncing Your Fitness and Nutrition with Your Menstrual Cycle | A Well-Rounded Approach: Understanding Your Menstrual Cycle for Better Fitness and Nutrition
I am going to share with you how to understand and optimize your fitness and nutrition based on where you are at in your cycle. I absolutely love this episode because I'm going to teach you how this leads to a well-rounded way of training, a better understanding of your body and your biology, so things just start making sense. That's the big thing with my living in sync method. And what I teach is instead of wondering "why do I have these crazy cravings or why am I not feeling motivated, why am I not sleeping good this week?" Instead of having that, "why am I feeling this way?" You are understanding what's going on in your biology, that your hormones are different based on where you are at in your cycle, and you can bring that better understanding to either give yourself grace or to optimize and work with it. This is also really, really great for having variety in your fitness and nutrition plans. Tue, 09 May 2023 - 38min - 327 - Hate Tracking Your Food? What You Need to Know About Tracking Your Food and Weight Loss | From Restriction to Empowerment: The Mindful Approach to Tracking Food
Just sit with question for a bit... is the only time you have ever tracked your food intake, with a journal or MyFitnessPal (or any other app), is when you wanted to drastically restrict your calories? What if you saw it from a different angle? In this episode of the Living in Sync podcast, host Joelle, a certified nutritionist, discusses the topic of tracking food and how it can be used as a tool for mindful eating and achieving health goals. She emphasizes that tracking food is not about being restrictive or judgmental towards oneself, but rather about gathering information and using it to make informed decisions about one's diet. Joelle suggests various methods for tracking food, such as an evening reflection or planning meals for the upcoming day. She also explains how tracking food can be used to maximize the benefits of the menstrual cycle. Overall, Joelle's message is about using tracking food in a mindful and sustainable way to achieve harmony with oneself and one's eating habits. This episode talks about - does tracking your food help you lose weight? - being a scientist of the information - you don't have to track calories or macros forever - how to start tracking what you are eating Referenced Resources: Feminine Edge Collective Amber on Biceps After Babies Macro Friendly Foods [Time Stamp of Episode Content] *Benefits of tracking food [00:02:22]*Joelle discusses the benefits of tracking food, citing a Harvard study that showed people who kept food records lost twice as much weight as those who did not. *Avoiding extreme tracking [00:04:35]*Joelle advises against using tracking solely as a restriction method and suggests using it to gain insight and information about one's eating habits. *Establishing a Habit [00:11:16]*Joelle suggests starting with an evening or morning reflection to establish the habit of tracking food intake and energy levels. *Reflecting on Your Nutrition [00:13:03]*Joelle encourages reflecting on what you ate and how you felt throughout the day to gain insight into your eating habits and energy levels. *Tracking for Information [00:18:26]*Joelle suggests tracking food intake solely for information and not to be extreme, as it can provide insight into proper nourishment and daily energy expenditure. *Tracking Food and the Menstrual Cycle [00:19:44]*Joelle discusses how tracking food can be used as a tool for mindful eating and achieving health goals, especially when considering the biological blueprint of the menstrual cycle.

Thu, 27 Apr 2023 - 41min - 325 - Realistically Living in Sync with Your Cycle: How & Why Any Woman Can Sync with Their Cycle!
Understanding your menstrual cycle and cycle syncing can empower you to take control of your health and wellbeing, and to live in harmony with your body's natural rhythms. Understanding cycle syncing (a term from Alisa Vitti) can have numerous benefits for women, both in terms of their physical and mental health. Cycle syncing involves aligning your daily routines, diet, exercise, and other habits with your menstrual cycle, which is a reflection of your body's hormonal fluctuations. By doing so, you can optimize your energy levels, mood, sleep, and productivity, as well as reduce symptoms of PMS and menstrual cramps. But for many women they do not feel they can realistically make life changes because their cycle - and I totally understand that - but understanding your biology will help you better understand yourself. Tue, 25 Apr 2023 - 20min - 324 - Is Life Too Busy? From Burnout to Balance: How to Create a Productive Mindset When You’re Busy
I have lived through both "hustle culture" and "slow living." Both had their positive and negative impacts on my mental, physcial, and emotional health. One brought on a lot of "success" while the other left me feeling like I was "missing" something and not living to my maximum potential. Now I have a beautiful blend of both in what I like to call... Intentionally Busy! Living a full well-rounded life in the midst of a very busy season. What is Intentionally Busy? Being busy is often perceived as a negative thing in our society, as if it means we're overworked, stressed, and have no time to enjoy life. However, being busy isn't necessarily a bad thing in and of itself. It can be a sign that we're actively pursuing our goals, taking on new challenges, and growing in our personal and professional lives. Being busy can also help us stay engaged and motivated, and can lead to a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment. It's important, however, to find a balance between being productive and overworking ourselves, and to make sure we're taking care of our physical and mental health. Ultimately, being busy isn't inherently good or bad—it's all about how we approach it and what we make of our time. Joelle on Instagram

Welcome to another episode of the Living in Sync podcast, where we talk a lot about hormones, health, and wellness . In this episode, we'll be exploring the Mediterranean diet - a way of eating that has gained popularity in recent years, thanks to its numerous health benefits. The Mediterranean diet is based on the traditional cuisine of the countries surrounding the Mediterranean Sea, such as Greece, Italy, Spain, and Morocco. It is rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and olive oil, and includes moderate amounts of fish, poultry, dairy, and red wine. Research has shown that following the Mediterranean diet can lead to a reduced risk of chronic diseases, such as heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and certain types of cancer. It may also improve cognitive function, help with weight management, and promote longevity. In this episode, we'll be discussing the key components of the Mediterranean diet, the science behind its health benefits, and some practical tips on how to incorporate it into your daily life. So, whether you're a foodie looking for new culinary inspiration or someone who wants to improve their health through diet, this episode is for you.
