Prazosin is the prototype drug and there is so much to talk about it- Extent of selectivity, its action, effect, pharmacokinetic profile, adverse effects and metabolic effects.
Next in the list are Terazosin and Doxazosin, they are too discussed heartily and while comparing them with Prazosin, a good amount of light is thrown on their profile.

Today's dialogue is all about Receptor mechanisms of drug action. Actually we are starting it! Initially I will talk about about definition of receptors, and a few more terms to comment upon and define to ge to furnish our concepts and understanding of the detailed theory of receptor action mechanism in a smooth and wonderful way. Future holds diving in depth of the subject, so its always good to get acquainted with the Vocabulary, it really helps to enrich one's knowledge!!
With dialogue about receptor, agonist , antagonist, partial agonist and ligand, I will be building up the vocabulary to understand the future details nicely!

Firstly its my great pleasure to wish all a very "HAPPY TEACHER'S DAY". Its a great day and yes I am here with a great discussion topic i.e. Enzyme Inhibition. First of all I will define as a ritual, then with no delay I will discuss its two main types, namely Competitive and Non Competitive Enzyme Inhibition. I will discuss their main features or characteristics, the basic mechanism and yes never to miss, never to forget the wonderful examples!
For your utter knowledge, i want to state that Competitive Enzyme inhibition is again of two different kinds, namely Equilibrium and Non equilibrium type and they have their own properties, you need to know them all!
The status of Km and Vmax changes for all types and thats worth noticing and remembering, in the end with glory and hail to all preachers and teachers, I will be winding and ending for the great fun filled Sunday! Hope you had a real nice one!

Initially I will be stating various drug mechanisms like Activation, Inhibition, Complexation and Neutralisation. All discussion is supported with examples, then I will tell most importantly that Drug mechanism can be receptor or non receptor mediated.
Then I will start off with Elaborations about Enzymes, very detailed and specific conversations about Enzyme Stimulation and Enzyme Induction, their essence and differences.
All this talk will be the meat and potatoes of today's verbal session.
