- 1041 - Small Wonder: S3E15: Bye Bye Brindles & S3E16: For Sale By Robot
Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of She's A Small Wonder: A Small Wonder Podcast. Today, I covered not one, but two episodes to catch up for missing March's episode. S3E15: Bye Bye Brindles. which aired on January 23, 1988. In this episode the Lawsons plot to convince the Brindles to move. Brandon was such a dumb dumb in this episode. GAH! Not surprising, Bonnie is mentioned but not seen since the actress moved on to star in the show Valerie or Hogan Family or whatever they were calling that show at the time. This episode was kinda meh. and also I covered S3E16: For Sale By Robot, which aired on January 30, 1988. In this episode Vicki accidentally sells the Lawson's house. This was a bonkers crazy and hugely unrealistic episode (aren't they all) when it comes to selling a home, as well as the couple being what TV perceive as stereo typical Texans to be like. I was embarrassed and I'm not originally from Texas, I've only been here 3 years. Overall, I liked this episode more than the first. Hope you enjoy the episodes and I'll be back in June with two more. Have a great rest of April!
Thu, 18 Apr 2024 - 1h 32min - 1040 - Fuller House: S1E12: Save The Dates & S2E7 Girl Talk
Hey Fuller House Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered S1E12 Save The Dates, which aired on February 26, 2016. In this episode D.J. has a date with her past that catches her off guard, and Kimmy's date with Fernando is nothing but surprises. Loved Steve's Bayside Letterman jacket, but the fake toupee has to go, like yesterday! Matt was adorable in this episode, but I will always be Team Steejay! and S2E7: Girl Talk, which aired on December 9, 2016. In this episode Kimmy hatches a plan to reunite and relaunch the girls' childhood band, Girl Talk; a vengeful video making fun of Ramona goes viral. I also complain a lot about how much I can't stand Gia, but if we have to have her to get Rocki, I'll deal with it. Popko is a giant jerk, I never could stand this guy, and this episode just cements that fact. I loved how Jackson stood up for Ramona. Join me next month when I cover S2E8: A Tangled Web, which aired December 9, 2016. In this episode Jackson pet-sits Lola's tarantula, Dj works over time to help Max on a school project, and Jimmy makes a music video for Stephanie's latest hit. and S2E9: Glazed and Confused, which aired December 9, 2016 In this episode with out-of-town trips planned for the adults, Uncle Joey delivers doughnuts -- and unexpected drama. Stephanie's nervous about singing on television. Have a great rest of March and I'll be back in late April!
Wed, 27 Mar 2024 - 2h 21min - 1039 - Small Wonder S3E14 Here Today, Gone Tomorrow
Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of She's A Small Wonder: A Small Wonder Podcast. Today, I covered S3E14: Here Today, Gone Tomorrow, which aired on January 16, 1988. In this episode Vicki gives a bank computer data that Ted is dead. This creates issues for him and Joan because they can't use their credit cards to buy groceries, since Ted had been doing what we in today's world refer to online banking to pay our bills. He was 30 years ahead of his time here, however Vicki mishears Ted mention something about him being dead and Vicki inputs that data into the computer to cut off his credit because he's dead. He has to go to the bank to prove he's alive, which doesn't do anything, he doesn't show his ID, the the bank manager has no idea if he is who he says he is. Joan and Ted have a fake funeral to prove to the bank creator and other random people including Brandon and Bonnie (Edie McClurg's final episode) that he is very much alive. Jamie and Vicki have a small side plot where he's selling packets of Christmas Tree Seeds in January for $3.95. No one's buying that crap because no ones thinking of Christmas in January. Joan gets a Life Insurance check for $100,000, that of course they have to give back. Join me later this month when I cover S3E15: Bye Bye Brindles, which aired on January 23, 1988. In this episode the Lawsons plot to convince the Brindles to move. See ya'll later this month! Overall not a bad episode.
Mon, 11 Mar 2024 - 52min - 1038 - Fuller House: S1E10: A Giant Leap and S1E11: Partnerships In The Night
Hey Fuller House Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered S1E10 A Giant Leap, which aired on February 26, 2016. In this episode things get out of hand when Stephanie's new boyfriend, Hunter Pence of the San Francisco Giants, invites everyone to one of his baseball games. and S1E11: Partnerships in the Night. In this episode Stephanie and Kimmy form a strange partnership, D.J.'s boss retires, and Max has Jackson and Ramona right where he wants them. I really enjoyed these episodes. I thought they were cute and funny. Join me next month for S1E12 Save The Dates. In this episode D.J. has a date with her past that catches her off guard, and Kimmy's date with Fernando is nothing but surprises. and S2E7: Girl Talk. In this episode Kimmy hatches a plan to reunite and relaunch the girls' childhood band, Girl Talk; a vengeful video making fun of Ramona goes viral. Have a great week everyone!
Wed, 28 Feb 2024 - 2h 34min - 1037 - Small Wonder: S3E13: Ooga Mooga
Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of She's A Small Wonder A Small Wonder Podcast. Today, I covered S3E13: Ooga Mooga, which aired on December 7, 1987. In this episode The Lawsons perform at a lodge fund-raiser. This was the last episode of 1987. What a way to kick off 2024 with a shit-tastic episode, was I right , or was I right? It really sucked soo bad and Brandon Brindle's dumb a$$ self has the most to do with it. Add in that creepy 6 foot tall doll, then Joan and Vicki dressing up as said doll to recreate an act at the lodge fundraiser talent show. Ted and Brandon's boss is dumber than a box of rocks if he mistook Ted for Brandon. I knew Ted was originally meant for that position. Jamie's magic tricks were horrible, time for a new hobby Jamie or a get rich quick scheme, plus I thought Jamie seemed a little too old to do doing magic tricks, not that there's an age requirement on playing magic tricks, just seems kinda beneath him, ya know, it's Jamie. Unless he's charging people to watch him perform said magic tricks. I mean it did cost Brandon $10. Luckily the episode for February looks a lot more funner and enjoyable. Join me next month when I cover S3E14: Here Today, Gone Tomorrow, which aired on January 16, 1988. The first episode of 1988. In this episode Vicki gives a bank computer data that Ted is dead. Have a great rest of January and see you next month.
Sun, 28 Jan 2024 - 38min - 1036 - Fuller House: S1E3 Funner House & S1E9: War Of The Roses
Hey Fuller House Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered S1E3: Funner House, which aired on February 26, 2016. In this episode when Stephanie, Kimmy and DJ have a girls' night out and leave Joey in charge of the kids, things get wild out on the town and at home. Wasn't a fan of the nightclub stuff with the girls, but Joey babysitting the kids at home was fun to watch. and I also covered S1E9: War Of The Roses, which aired on February 26, 2016. In this episode after 1,000 roses show up without a card, D.J., Kimmy, and Stephanie must figure out which one of them has a secret admirer. This episode was kinda lackluster to me, nothing really special. Not happy with what the writers did to Becky's character though. They made her as maniac as DJ is. Join me next time for S1E10: A Giant Leap, which aired February 26,2016. In this episode Things get out of hand when Stephanie's new boyfriend, Hunter Pence of the San Francisco Giants, invites everyone to one of his baseball games. and S1E11: Partnerships In The Night, which aired on February 26, 2016. In this episode Things get out of hand when Stephanie's new boyfriend, Hunter Pence of the San Francisco Giants, invites everyone to one of his baseball games. Hope you enjoyed the Podcast Episode and have a great weekend everyone!
Fri, 19 Jan 2024 - 2h 00min - 1035 - Small Wonder: S3E12: The Bank Job
Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of She's A Small Wonder: A Small Wonder Podcast. Today, I covered S3E12: The Bank Job, which aired on November 28, 1987. In this episode, Harriet, Jamie and Vicki foil a bank robber. As far as episodes go, this one was kinda weak sauce. Diff'rent Strokes did a much better episode on a bank robbery back in the early 80's. Aside from the bank robbery, which btw's took place when there was less than 10 minutes left in the episode, so ya know, no real high stakes. Just a man dressed as a woman, who looks like he's never held a gun before, which wasn't surprising considering he told the bank teller, he was new at the whole stick up situation. Aside from that, the side plot of Ted and Brandon getting measles was total BS, the writers should have just led with the chicken pox like on Full House Season 1. At least we learn that Jamie had his MMR Vac. Join me in January when I cover what I feel will be a crap episode S3E13: Ooga Mooga, which aired on December 5, 1987. In this episode the Lawsons perform at a lodge fund-raiser. What is the hoopla - poopla garbage excuse for an episode! Have a great rest of 2023 and I'll see ya next month.
Sat, 30 Dec 2023 - 1h 02min - 1034 - Full House: S8E23 & S8E24: Michelle Rides Again Parts 1 and 2 (Series Finale)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Well, the time has come, we've reached the end of the Full House portion of this podcast as I covered the Series Finale, Full House S8E23 &S8E24: Michelle Rides Again Parts 1 & 2. Both episodes aired in a special 1 Hour Series Finale on May 23, 1995. I remember being so excited and yet so sad that the show I grew up watching as a child was coming to an end. I grew up with The Tanner family as I'm sure a lot of you listeners also did as well. Shared in the laughter, tears and the big moments, Jesse and Becky's wedding in Season 4 and the arrival of Nicky and Alex in Season 5. Here's the synopsis for Full House S8E23: Michelle Rides Again: PART 1: In this episode while out horseback riding, Michelle's horse runs into a tree, throwing her and causing her to hit her head. In PART 2: In this episode the Tanner family helps Michelle try to regain her memory. I think for a Series Finale of a long running show, the Finale holds up, sure Jesse and Joey's wrestling gig was a bit goofy, but we needed it to balance out the heavy stuff with Michelle's accident. The surprise reveal of Steve at the end was the Marshmallow (I hate cherries) on the Sundae for me. And of course I got choked up when Michelle asked about her Mom, those violins do me in every time. Lastly I want to thank you all for listening to this podcast for the last four and a half years as I went on this journey. The reviews and ratings on Itunes, along the way as well as being a part of the Facebook Page and sending emails too. That being said I will be back to continue my coverage of Fuller House in January 2024. Have a great rest of 2023 and I'll be back soon.
Fri, 29 Dec 2023 - 3h 21min - 1033 - Full House: S8E20: Up On The Roof (The Not So Great Of Season 8 (IMO) Series)
Hey Full House Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I'm covering the last episode in The Not So Great Of Season (IMO) Series, Full House S8E20: Up On The Roof, which aired on March 14, 1995. In this episode D.J., wanting to do an elaborate senior prank, lifts her principal's car onto the roof of the school using a crane; Becky offers to teach Michelle to cook. This episode was a step up from DJ's Choice, I'd even go so far to say I liked it a little more than Air Jesse, thanks to Joey's invention of Silly Doh, combining Silly Putty and Play Doh together for the boys to play with and Comet ends up eating some, but it's non toxic, so it's fine. Becky's "Comet's been out chasing Smurfs", joke absolutely slayed me. DJ's principal who was also Jesse's principal (wouldn't he also be Danny and Joey's as well) looks not much older than Jesse, how is that possible? The car on the roof prank was genius, but DJ's goody two shoes reason for doing it is kinda lame. She wants to leave behind a legacy or at least be remembered by her fellow classmates. Deej, you were the organizer of every school function between junior high and high school, I'm sure you will not be forgotten anytime soon. Becky and Michelle's meat loaf looks more like a meat mountain when Becky pulls it out of the oven, Becky forgot that the recipe was meant to feed her Grandma's whole trailer park. Good golly that's a lot of beef! Join me next week when I cover the last episodes of Full House for this podcast! Full House S8E23 & S8E24: Michelle Rides Again Parts 1 & 2, which aired on May 23, 1995. PART 1: In this episode while out horseback riding, Michelle's horse runs into a tree, throwing her and causing her to hit her head. PART 2: The Tanner family helps Michelle try to regain her memory. Hope you enjoy the Podcast Episode! Have a great holiday next week if you celebrate it!
Wed, 20 Dec 2023 - 1h 51min - 1032 - Small Wonder: S3E11: The Fats Of Life
Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of She's A Small Wonder: A Small Wonder Podcast. Today, I covered S3E11: The Fats of Life, which aired on November 21, 1987. In this episode Vicki literally balloons after Ted unwittingly upgrades her energy-supplementing polynucleotide processor with an appetite, which creates excess digestive gases and causes her a date issue for the school dance. We see the return of Jessica again, as well as a boy who is basically her male equivalent, self absorbed and he's set his sights on Vicki as his date to what they're calling the "prom" (really, they're in junior high), but drops her as soon he sees she has ballooned up due to a malfunction, Warren still as ever smitten with Vicki feels he's found an equal when he sees she's expanded outward, but he feels slighted after Ted fixes Vicki and she returns to normal size. Of course Harriet tries to interject herself in Jamie's life by trying to get him to take her to the dance ( even though they don't go to the same school) We also met Wanda, Warren's sister who is basically forgettable, she has no lines. She's so shy, the teachers forget she exists in their class. Overall, an ok episode. Join me later this month for S3E12: The Bank Job, which aired on November 28, 1987. In this episode Harriet, Jamie and Vicki foil a bank robber.
Wed, 20 Dec 2023 - 49min - 1031 - Full House: S8E16: Air Jesse (The Not So Great of Season 8 (IMO) Series)
Hey Full House Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I'm continuing The Not So Great Of Season 8 (IMO) Series with S8E16: Air Jesse, which aired on February 7, 1995. In this episode, after being recruited by D.J. to play in a charity basketball game, Jesse gets tips from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Jesse CANNOT make a basket and knows nothing about basketball. What the heck! He played 2 on 2 with Danny, Joey, and Cousin Steve in Season 1. Did 7 years of knowing how to play just disappear? Kareem takes pity on Jesse, because apparently if you're a grown man you should automatically know how to play basketball. No way Nick Katsopolis wouldn't have taught his son how to play, he knows about baseball. He would know about this sport too. Jesse finds his magic sweet spot on the court that guarantees a basket every time the ball comes near it. He just wants his son's to be proud of him. Newsflash they already are, because you're their dad. Also in this episode as a side plot Stephanie makes a horrendous looking blouse in Home Ec and gives it to Becky after she assumes Becky loves it. This blouse is a hodge podge nightmare come to life, multiple buttons of various sizes here, there and everywhere. No article of clothing needs that many buttons. EVER! Becky trying to spare Steph's feelings with her honest opinion wears the blouse out of guilt to a charity basketball game (which Jesse and the boys are playing in) when a reporter/fan/stalker of Becky shows up to snap a photo for her scrap book or which ever paper she claims to work for, Becky's true feelings about the blouse come out when Becky realizes her picture wearing the blouse with be on every door step in San Francisco, I mean she's a co host of Wake Up San Francisco, she has an image to project and protect, viewers only see her in blazers and matching slacks or dresses, top of the line WUS approved apparel, heaven forbid she wear something that screams fashion police nightmare outside of work. Kimmy still 7 years later (See Season 1 Just One of The Guys Season 1 for example) cannot keep her hands off the players butts (she's their coach) apparently both DJ and Kimmy are hosting this basketball charity event to raise money for a cause of some kind. Crazy pants episode for sure. Join me next week when I cover the last episode in this Series, Full House S8E20: Up On The Roof, which aired on March 14, 1995. In this episode D.J., wanting to do an elaborate senior prank, lifts her principal's car onto the roof of the school using a crane; Becky offers to teach Michelle to cook. Have a great week everyone! I hope you enjoy the Podcast Episode!
Wed, 13 Dec 2023 - 1h 36min - 1030 - Full House: S8E12: DJ's Choice (The Not So Great Of Season 8 (IMO) Series)
Hey Full House Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I cover the last Series of Episodes for this Podcast with, The Not So Great Of Season 8 Series and the episode I covered to kick this off is Full House S8E12 D.J.'s Choice, which aired on January 3, 1995. In this episode Nelson and Viper compete to be D.J.'s boyfriend, and Nelson hires FRANKIE VALLI (himself) to serenade her; Michelle leads the family on a crusade to clean up a vandalized playground. Don't have much to say on this episode other than it's the weakest of the three in this Series of episodes and the Series of Full House (IMO). I could care less who DJ is romantically involved with at this point since she broke up with Steve in Season 7. Nelson is bland and basic, a Richie Rich type with a mullet and Viper is a dumpster fire of a human being. I mean he breaks up with DJ because in his mind they're moving too fast for him and then he expects her to just take him back because he sang her a song about how much he misses and her made a mistake. Goodbye, Viper! And the rest of the Season is Viper-less. Thank goodness! The side plot is of the family and neighbors fixing up the vandalized city park, so Nicky and Alex can learn how to swing without an adult having to assist in pushing them. Just get a swing set in the backyard. Join me next week when I cover Full House S8E16: Air Jesse, which aired on February 5, 1995. In this episode after being recruited by D.J. to play in a charity basketball game, Jesse gets tips from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. I hope you enjoy the Podcast Episode and have a great weekend!
Thu, 07 Dec 2023 - 1h 39min - 1029 - Full House: S5E6: The Legend Of Ranger Joe (Joey's Comedy Career Journey Series)
Hey Full House Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered the last episode in the Joey's Comedy Career Journey Series, with Full House S5E6: The Legend of Ranger Joe, which aired on October 22, 1991. In this episode In this episode, Joey hits a string of great luck! He gets free cable, concert tickets and job interviews, he even gets a date with a hot girl, but then his luck runs short when his interview comes along. Michelle learns to tap and really annoys Stephanie, who taught her to tap. She annoys her so much that one day the shoes go missing...who do you think took them? Jesse debates what to name his twins, when they are born, and accidentally reveals to DJ that he has a secret about his past. We later find out that he got his name changed in kindergarten. I liked this episode, it was so much fun and had so much going on, Joey's riding high on a string of good luck, newspaper strike doesn't print a bad review on his comedy act, wins Donnie and Marie Reunion Concert Tickets and gets a date with the cable repair lady all in one morning and the cherry on the sundae he gets a chance to audition to be the new host of the children's show Ranger Roy later to be named Ranger Joe. One by one the dominos fall, newspaper strike over, concert tickets are a no go because he has a distant relative that works for the station that ultimately disqualifies him from being able to accept the tickets which leads him to lose the date with the cable lady. And in finding out he got the position as the new host of the kid's show he grabs Ranger Roy (who has a no human contact phobia) in a big bear hug, leaves quickly to tell his agent and Danny is the one to break the news to him, he was fired. Yikes! On a side note, Jesse's obsessed with coming up with cool names for the twins, A hidden secret from his past, his real name is Hermes (not buying this one at all) so he begged him Mom to change it to Jesse. Stephanie teaches Michelle to tap dance and it backfires, what Michelle is doing is not tap dancing, it's STOMPING! Join me next month when I cover that last Series of the Full House Podcast and the Series Finale! Have a great week and I hope you enjoy the Podcast Episode!
Sun, 26 Nov 2023 - 1h 46min - 1028 - Full House: S4E23: Joey Goes Hollywood (Joey's Comedy Career Journey Series)
Hey Full House Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered the next episode in Joey's Comedy Career Series, Full House S4E23: Joey Goes Hollywood, which aired on March 29, 1991. In this episode when Joey leaves for Los Angeles to begin filming his new television series with a prolific actor, the rest of the Tanner family decides to join him. I thought this was a good episode. Joey and the family get to meet Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello. Stephanie being teased about her name at school decides to change it to Dawn Ariel Tanner. Someone loves The Little Mermaid (1989) After hearing Michelle call Annette "Annette Funny-jello", I can't unhear it. Speaking of Michelle, she racks up DJ's phone bill by calling Tokyo (well hear about this city in Japan again in Season 6, Road To Tokyo) constantly since the person on the other end and her are on a first name basis. All she's doing is attempting and failing to count to 100. In Joey's "I'm Famous and a BIG Star fantasy" Kimmy is his biggest fan and she jumps on him and starts kissing his neck. I'm not okay with this scene even if it is for a funny bit in a TV Show. Join me next week when I conclude Joey's Comedy Career Journey with, Full House S5E6: The Legend of Ranger Joe, which aired on October 22, 1991. In this episode In this episode, Joey hits a string of great luck! He gets free cable, concert tickets and job interviews, he even gets a date with a hot girl, but then his luck runs short when his interview comes along. Thu, 16 Nov 2023 - 1h 33min - 1027 - Full House: S3E6: Star Search (Joey's Comedy Career Journey Series)
Hey Full House Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered the next episode in Joey's Comedy Career Journey Series with Full House S3E6: Star Search, which aired on November 3, 1989. In this episode D. J. and Steph try to teach Michelle not to go to sleep with her ballerina skirt on but Danny allows her to do it. Joey gives his comedy career a last chance and wishes a challenge in Ed McMahon's TV show 'Star Search'. I thought this was an ok episode, Joey gives himself a deadline to become famous or he did 10 years ago when an old video of him and Danny's college talk show is viewed by the whole family. Joey realizes that deadline is fast approaching for him to be famous enough to have his own TV show or at least be on Carson, Leno or Letterman. Somehow if he doesn't achieve this status of fame and success before the deadline, he'll feel like a failure in his own eyes. Never mind that his family will still love him no matter whether he meets his deadline or not. The family secretly sends a tape of Joey's funniest bits on tape to Star Search and luckily enough he gets picked to be on the show and the whole family gets to go and support him. Also mini plot, DJ and Steph give Michelle a ballerina tutu and she refuses to take it off even for bed, the girls complain to Danny and he says it's fine if she wants to wear it. That's that whole mini plot in a nutshell. Join me next week when I cover the next episode in the Series, Full House S4E23: Joes Goes Hollywood, which aired on March 29, 1991. In this episode when Joey leaves for Los Angeles to begin filming his new television series with a prolific actor, the rest of the Tanner family decides to join him. Have a great weekend everyone and I hope you enjoy the Podcast Episode!
Sun, 12 Nov 2023 - 1h 51min - 1026 - Full House: S1E16: But Seriously Folks (Joey's Comedy Career Journey Series)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I'm kicking off a new Series, Joey's Comedy Career Journey Series, with Full House S1E16: But Seriously Folks, which aired on February 5, 1988. In this episode Joey's convinced that his comic debut in front of a talent scout is jinxed. I liked this episode, as it had a valuable lesson for both Joey and DJ. Joey's ready for his big night at the comedy club, with the possibility of being discovered by a talent scout from HBO looking for the next up and coming comic to give them their big break, an HBO Comedy Special. Sadly Phyllis Diller happens to be in the audience right as Joey's ready to take the stage, and boy is he upstaged since he never makes it up there and of course the audience is all laughed out once she leaves, also leaving is the HBO Talent Scout. Joey's is begging people to stay and listen to his act. It's late, they all have to get home. Joey takes this lack of an opportunity to make people laugh and maybe be discovered, hard. He quits comedy and loses the mullet which he mousses down and dons a suit to go on interviews and accepts none of the job offers. He's not the only one quitting and giving up, DJ started the band The Bracelets with Kimmy who's on keyboard (they really stick with Kimmy and the keyboard thing as the show goes on, even in Fuller House). DJ getting guitar lessons from Jesse and she gives up because she's not good at it at first, we really never come back to this because she eventually moves on to the drums in Season 2. Danny and Jesse realize that Joey needs comedy in his life and the family need Joey in theirs (the old Joey) not this "Joe" guy he keeps referring to himself as. Danny and Jesse devise a plan to take Joey down to the club and Jesse tries out Joey's act messing up Joey's jokes on purpose causing Joey to jump up on stage and take over. The HBO guy rep didn't show, but it ends up being his night because people are laughing and being entertained by his jokes. Old Joey is BACK! Joey tells DJ, don't give up on something if it doesn't come natural to you right away, keep plugging away at it until you succeed. If it's not your thing that's ok too, but at least give it some effort before moving on to something else. Join me next week when I cover Full House S3E6: Star Search, which aired on November 3, 1989. In this episode D. J. and Steph try to teach Michelle not to go to sleep with her ballerina skirt on but Danny allows her to do it. Joey gives his comedy career a last chance and wishes a challenge in Ed McMahon's TV show 'Star Search'. Have a great weekend everyone! I hope you enjoy the Podcast Episode!
Sat, 04 Nov 2023 - 1h 54min - 1025 - Small Wonder: S3E10: TV Or Not TV
Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of She's A Small Wonder: A Small Wonder Podcast. Today, I covered S3E10: TV Or Not TV, which aired on November 14, 1987. In this episode Vicki is asked to appear in a cereal commercial. I thought this episode was good. Harriet being a pest as always. Ted, and Joan acting as over the top stage parents with their demands for Vicki's future as an actress, trying to scare away the TV Commercial Guy to keep him from using the footage of Vicki eating their crap unhealthy cereal for a commercial. Vicki again wearing this Marilyn Monroe wig and outfit. This is gross, someone on the writing staff has an unhealthy fetish. Making a child dress like a grown ass woman. Join me next month for S3E11: The Fats of Life, which aired on November 21, 1987. In this episode Vicki literally balloons after Ted unwittingly upgrades her energy-supplementing polynucleotide processor with an appetite, which creates excess digestive gases and causes her a date issue for the school dance.

Tue, 31 Oct 2023 - 2h 56min - 1023 - Full House: S6E4: Radio Days (Jesse & Joey's Career Duo Journey Series)
Hey Full House Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered the last episode in the Jesse and Joey's Career Duo Journey Series, Full House S6E4: Radio Days, which aired on October 13, 1992. In this episode Jesse and Joey are offered a job as Radio DJs. Jesse and Joey partnered in advertising back in Season 2 through 4, then for Season 5 they decided to each focus on their own careers, Jesse and his music and Joey with his comedy. Now in Season 6 and through out the rest of the shows run they are DJ Hosts better known as the Rush Hour Renegades. I thought this was a fun episode, a step up for Jesse and Joey getting themselves out there and heard all over San Francisco. We also see the last of Joey and The Ranger Joe Show as he can't stand his new co-host Jungle Jenny who also happens to be his boss's wife, she humiliates him in front of the kids and he ends up giving his boss an ultimatum, either she goes or I go and of course he picks his wife. Stephanie, trying to come up with a topic for her creative writing assignment, wreaks havoc on DJ and Steve's relationship with she creates a fake love letter to DJ from Henry her Macaroni Man. Luckily for them Danny looks over Steph's paper and discovers similarities between her characters and the topic of DJ and Steve's fight. They turn the tables on Stephanie by having DJ and Steve pretending to want to get married and Danny being cool with it, to Steph's horror and then Danny tells her it's not right to mess up people's relationships because she can't come up with something to write about. Join me in November for a new Series of Episodes! Have a great weekend! Hope you enjoy the podcast!
Sat, 28 Oct 2023 - 2h 29min - 1022 - Full House: S4E3: The I.Q. Man (Jesse & Joey's Career Duo Journey Series)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I continue my coverage of the Jesse & Joey Career Duo Journey Series, Full House S4E3: The I.Q. Man, which aired on October 5, 1990. In this episode Jesse and Joey's latest client asks them to compromise their morals while shooting a commercial. I thought this was a good episode, we see the last of Mr. Malatesta (Jesse & Joey's Boss), who thinks it's fine that the woman in charge of the company they're shooting a commercial for is basically sexually harassing Jesse. He pretty much tells Jesse do it or you're fired. Jesse is beyond uncomfortable with this woman and decides he can't do the commercial for IQ a men's cologne. Changes up their commercial set from a library with him wearing a smoking jacket and to a shower set with him wearing only a towel. You're selling cologne! Apparently it also comes in the form of roll-on deodorant. This episode is the birth of J & J Creative Services (a production company) which Jesse and Joey start with the help of Danny's financial backing. D.J. and Kimmy (mostly D.J.) host their school's Career Day with Becky and Danny jumping in last minute. Unfortunately everyone there has Connie Chung Mania from a rumor saying she was going to be there for her nephew Jimmy Chung (not his last name) we later find out. Steph's got a sinus cold and ends up making Michelle who was taking care of her sick in the end. Join me3 next week for the last episode in the Jesse & Joey Career Duo Series Full House S6E4: Radio Days, which aired on October 13, 1992. In this episode Jesse and Joey are offered a job as radio DJs. I hope you enjoy the episode and have a great weekend!
Fri, 20 Oct 2023 - 2h 00min - 1021 - Full House: S2E13: Working Mothers (Jesse & Joey's Career Duo Journey Series)
Hey Full House Fans, Angela Bowen, here the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered the next episode in the Jesse & Joey Career Duo Series), Full House S2E13: Working Mothers, which aired on February 3, 1989. In this episode after Jesse and Joey are offered full time jobs at an ad agency, they struggle to decide if they can do the job and still be moms to the girls. I thought this was a good episode, Jesse and Joey win over a big client for their boss with an amazing advertising pitch complete with Joey wearing many hats and playing different characters with a jingle for Hurry Mart, so catchy. On the spot their boss gives them full time positions, it's all great until DJ and Stephanie wonder who will take care of them if all three of the guys are working. News Flash, they're working while you're in school, you'll see them in the evening. Good grief. The girls (DJ and Steph) act like they're becoming latchkey kids (which for some reason was the worst thing to be in the 80's and 90's by their attitude), I was a 90's latchkey kid from age 11 onward, it wasn't a big deal. The show Small Wonder did an episode about it. In the end the girls make the guys feel so guilty, they ask their boss if they can just work from home. He's cool with it. Michelle has developed a habit of locking people out of the house and a balcony in this episode. Self locking doors not a good thing. Join me next week when I cover the next episode Full House S4E3: The I.Q. Man, which aired on October 5, 1990. In this episode Jesse and Joey's latest client asks them to compromise their morals while shooting a commercial. Have a great weekend and I hope you enjoy the podcast episode!
Thu, 12 Oct 2023 - 1h 46min - 1020 - Full House: S2E5: Jingle Hell (Jesse & Joey's Career Duo Journey Series)
Hey Full House Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I'm kicking off the new Series, Jesse and Joey Career Duo Journey with Full House S2E5: Jingle Hell, which aired on November 11, 1988. In this episode Jesse and Joey start working together, while D.J. and Stephanie fight because Stephanie breaks some of D.J.'s stuff. I really enjoyed this episode, seeing the beginning Jesse and Joey's work partnership which would eventually lead them to venturing out on their own as independent advertisers and the birth of their company J&J Creative Services. Stephanie has been getting in DJ's craw as of late and she's had enough. She vows to get her back and does so rather creatively by tying Stephanie entire shoe collection together so it's like a train of shoes. Jesse and Joey learn that in order to be successful as partners they have to work together and listen to one other. A partnership can't work if one person is calling the shots and the other is simply a follower and allowed no creative input. And finally the family can say goodbye to changing diapers because Michelle is potty-trained, well goodbye at least until the twins arrive in 3 years. Join me next week when I cover the next episode in the Series, S2E13: Working Mothers, which aired on February 3, 1989. After Jesse and Joey are offered full time jobs at an ad agency, they struggle to decide if they can do the job and still be moms to the girls. Have a great weekend and I hope you enjoy the episode!
Fri, 06 Oct 2023 - 2h 07min - 1019 - Small Wonder: S3E9: The Bad Seed
Hey Everyone. Angela Bowen here, the host of She's A Small Wonder: A Small Wonder Podcast. Today, I covered S3E9: The Bad Seed, which aired on November 7, 1987. In this episode, Ted builds a more advanced robot, but his plans to scrap Vicki are halted when the new model refuses to obey orders. I have been lookin forward to this episode for a while, every since I started Season 3 this year. This episode did not disappoint. I gotta give a hand to Tiffany Brisette, she did an amazing job playing Vanessa. She must have been happy not to have to use the robot voice for at least an episode. The scene were Vanessa she rips Joan's dress off of her, I wasn't ready for that. WOW! Never give a robot free will, it will take that power to the extreme and take over the family much like Vanessa did in this episode. Join me next month for S3E10: TV or Not TV, which aired on November 14, 1987. In this episode Vicki is asked to appear in a cereal commercial. See you in October!
Fri, 29 Sep 2023 - 42min - 1018 - Full House: S4E5: Good News, Bad News (Best Friends Series)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast, Today, I'm covering the last episode in the Best Friends Series, Full House S4E5: Good News, Bad News, which aired on October 19, 1990. In this episode DJ becomes editor of the school newspaper and faces backlash when she appoints Kimmy to a position for which she is unqualified. This was a fun and cute episode. DJ having been made the editor of the school paper, Kimmy jumps at the opportunity to work along side her best friend, however the only (I find this so hard to believe)position left on the paper was Sports Editor. There were a few boys there including Jake Bitterman (this is his last appearance on the show), we know that Jake wanted that position instead he got, copying the lunch menu. Whoopee! (NOT). After Kimmy's failed attempt at covering the school basketball team game (all she writes about is Robby Hudson the equipment manager, she doesn't even mention who won the game). DJ demands she write it again, Kimmy reuses and they fight, ending their friendship. They aren't the only ones fighting, Becky and Danny can barely get through the taping of their commercial for the show (that Jesse and Joey are shooting and directing) without snipping and glaring at each other. Pointing out the other's faults. Michelle annoys Stephanie to no end with the Shadow Game, which basically consists of repeating anything the other person says until they scream and runaway. Luckily for the girls along with Danny and Becky they are able to see past their squabbling and realize how immature they're being and make up with each other. Have a great month and I'll see you in October with a new Series of episodes,
Sat, 23 Sep 2023 - 1h 53min - 1017 - Full House:S3E9: Dr. Dare Rides Again (Best Friends Series)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered the next episode in the Best Friends Series, Full House S3E9: Dr. Dare Rides Again, which aired on November 24, 1989. In this episode Comet, the family's new dog gets his name as well as eats Michelle's ice cream. Michelle can't get over this, she'll tell it to anyone who will listen including Jesse's old school friend Pete. He and Jesse had a band back in high school "Feedback" and have a house party band reunion while Danny and Becky are in L.A. How many bands did Jesse have in high school, because in Season 4, he was also part of the band Discipline Problem. Also Danny and Becky are away on a talk show styling trip Fashion Expo '90 where they both get make overs. . Pete's carefree ways and single lifestyle start to rouse in Jesse how his life used to be before moving into the house and also before Becky. Little does Jesse know that Pete is a little envious of what Jesse has. A family and a stable relationship, a place to call home. All of Pete's ribbing gets to Jesse who tries to keep up with Pete's wild lifestyle which eventually lands Jesse on the edge of a building trying to recreate a stunt with his motorcycle he preformed years ago. When Pete realizes Jesse does not plan to back down from this dare, he realizes he pushed Jesse too far. Pete and the family help Jesse to realize the risk he's taking, before it's too late. I hope for Pete maybe he will find someone to settle down with, because I think he secretly wants that for himself. What worked in your 20's won't necessarily work in your 40's. Some things don't carry over. Join me next week when I cover S4E5 :Good News, Bad News, which aired on October 19, 1990. In this episode DJ becomes editor of the school newspaper and faces backlash when she appoints Kimmy to a position for which she is unqualified. Have a great weekend and I hope you enjoy the episode.
Sat, 16 Sep 2023 - 1h 52min - 1016 - Full House: S2E15: Pal Joey (Best Friends Series)
Hey Full House Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I'm kicking off the Best Friends Series with Full House S2E15: Pal Joey, which aired on February 17,1989. In this episode Joey and Danny recall the day they first met. I loved this episode, it was so cute. Especially seeing how Danny and Joey met, the kids they got to play them are absolutely adorable. The young man who played Danny, Phillip Glasser, I got the chance to meet him last Summer. He was so cool. He also voiced Fievel from An American Tail as well as the sequel and the short lived television series in the early 90's. Danny gets jealous of all the time that Joey and Jesse are spending together since they've become partners in advertising and Danny feels he's being edged out of Joey's life as his best friend. Danny was being so immature and Joey calls him on it and Danny decides since Joey can't read his mind and understand the reason he's upset than Joey and he never should have been friends to begin with. Good grief, Danny! Total Throwback Episode! So much unnecessary drama! Speaking of unnecessary drama, the side plot with Stephanie, Harry and DJ. Weird Love Triangle (at least from Steph's POV). DJ teaches Harry how to subtract and all of a sudden he's in love with her. Poor Steph is heartbroken. It's another switching rooms for an episode scenario. How it goes unnoticed with three adults in the house, only the writers can answer that question. It's up to Jesse and DJ to bring Steph and Harry back together. Join me next week when I cover the next episode in the series, Full House S3E9: Dr. Dare Rides Again, which aired on November 24, 1989. In this episode Comet, the family's new dog, eats Michelle's ice cream. Pete is an old pal that Jesse once knew. He visits the family when Danny and Becky are away on a talk show styling trip. 'Feedback' and some of Jesse's old ways pop up. Have a great week everyone!
Wed, 06 Sep 2023 - 2h 14min - 1015 - Small Wonder: S3E8: The Lawsonville Horror
Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of She's A Small Wonder: A Small Wonder POdcast. Today, I covered S3E8: The Lawsonville Horror, which aired on October 31, 1987. In this episode an electrocuted Vicki behaves as though possessed. This was a fun and creative episode. I liked whatever effects they used. Also Richard Christie (Ted Lawson) wrote this episode. Join me next month when I cover my most anticipated episode of Season 3, S3E9: The Bad Seed, which aired on November 7, 1987. In this episode Ted builds a more advanced robot, but his plans to scrap Vicki are halted when the new model refuses to obey orders. Have a great day everyone, see you in September.
Thu, 31 Aug 2023 - 44min - 1014 - Full House: S8E8: Claire And Present Danger (SISTERS Double Feature Part 3)
Happy Full House Day Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I'm covering Full House S8E8: Claire and Present Danger, which aired on November 22, 1994. In this episode Danny asks the mother of Stephanie's friend Gia out on a date--causing Michelle to rebel. Joey is surprised when the French woman he asked out on a date arrives with her husband. Jesse is nervous about his first appearance with his new band. I thought this was an ok episode, not once I watch on repeat. Jesse's band outfit for his performance, yuck! He's trying to make a comeback with his new band, Hot Daddy and the Monkey Puppets. DJ and Viper, I will never support them as a couple. He's too old for her and doesn't treat her right (spoiler alert: he breaks up with her in DJ's Choice because their relationship is moving too fast for him and then attempts to win her back through song. Michelle could have just told Stephanie what she was feeling about being left out when Steph and Gia were actually all excited at the thought of being sisters if Danny and Claire got married. Instead she dresses like a biker girl and insults Claire. She ends up looking and acting like a brat. Joey's being a doofus, when he meets a beautiful French woman who happens to be married, but since Joey doesn't know a word of French, he assumes Marie is another woman and he's going on a triple date. Yikes! Have a great week everyone, I hope you enjoy the podcast episode! To EMAIL The Podcast GOTO: omhcfhfhpodcast@gmail.com
Sun, 20 Aug 2023 - 1h 52min - 1013 - Full House: S7E10: The Prying Game (SISTERS Double Feature Part 3)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I'm kicking off the month of AUGUST with the last ever SISTERS Double Feature with, Full House S7E10: The Prying Game, which aired on November 16, 1993. In this episode Stephanie and Kimmy resort to snooping around Steve's apartment when they suspect that he's cheating on DJ with another girl. Meanwhile, Jesse, Joey, and Danny tape an infomercial to sell a hair care accessory that Jesse invented, which ends in chaos. This episode was ok for me. Stephanie's nosiness finally catches up to her when she suspects Steve of cheating on DJ. Steve's relationship with his cousin is just too familiar and honestly uncomfortable to watch. Any stranger who stubbles upon them in the library would probably assume their dating, when he asks "what are you making for dinner tonight" She replies "pasta romantico". Then she touches his arm and she kisses him on the cheek. Which is super weird. I don't know any cousins that do that, not mine, that I can think of. To each their own, I guess. Stephanie having no idea that Evie or Edie whatever her name is, is Steve's cousin and rather than flatout tell DJ what she saw, she wants to be sure, so she invites Kimmy for a stakeout to Steve's apartment. Apparently Kimmy has a knack for breaking into places, because she used that card like she's done it before. They find out the truth about Steve's cousin after Steve and DJ come back from an almost date and Evie/Edie is there and he introduces her to DJ. A shocking blow to Steph and Kimmy who are hiding behind Steve's fish tank. They try to sneak out but get caught, Kimmy admitting to stealing a bag of M&M's is hilarious to me. DJ tells Steph to stay out of her life. When Stephanie tries to explain to DJ why she did it, eventually DJ comes around and forgives her. The side plot, Spray Guard 2001. I couldn't stop thinking about the Nimbus 2000 from Harry Potter. While the hairspray shield is a good idea, someone claiming they invented it first, just over the phone, while the guys are filming their infomercial, is just a tad suspicious. I'd be like "ok, prove it" The guy's don't want to be sued, so they nix the idea. Join me later this month when I cover Full House S8E8: Claire and Present Danger, (I don't get it, the title makes no sense, I mean, sure her name is Claire, but where's the danger),which aired on November 22, 1994. In this episode Danny asks the mother of Stephanie's friend Gia out on a date--causing Michelle to rebel. Joey is surprised when the French woman he asked out on a date arrives with her husband. Jesse is nervous about his first appearance with his new band. Have a great weekend and I hope you enjoy the Podcast Episode! To EMAIL The PODCAST: omhcfhfhpodcast@gmail.com
Sat, 12 Aug 2023 - 2h 10min - 1012 - Full House: S8E7: On The Road Again (Jesse's Musical Career Journey Series)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, we conclude Jesse's Musical Career Journey Series, with Full House S8E7: On The Road Again, which aired on November 8, 1994. In this episode when Danny finds out that D.J. is secretly dating the guitarist in Jesse's new band, Danny forbids her to continue. I was not a fan of this episode and really don't like the music that Jesse makes with his new band Hot Daddy and the Monkey Puppets. Not to mention the outfits or style he's going for with this new band is utterly atrocious. Absolutely can't stand Viper, he's wrong for DJ, and it's not just because he's not Steve. He seems so much older than DJ, I mean she's still in high school, even though Steve was in college when DJ and he broke up. He's too wild, and (spoiler alert) he actually breaks up with her when he feels things are going too fast for him. Jesse realizes his wild days are behind him when he takes Becky and the boys on a gig with him. He wants to relive his glory days (pre-Becky and the boys) days of rock n' roll that he had with the Rippers in 1987. He checks the band along with Becky and the boys into a grungy, moldy, outdated motel, that is so bad, it would make Norman Bates, inwardly cringe. Times have changed and so has he. He makes so many "I'm an old man" jokes, it gets old real quick. I'm like "dude, you're not even 30 yet", he complains more about his age in this episode than he does in Fuller House, claiming he's still got it, for someone in his 50's. Jesse and the band are in for a shock when he meets the owner of the club who is expecting Big Poppa and the Polka Puppies, not Hot Daddy and the Monkey Puppets. I couldn't help but picture golden retriever puppies dressed in lederhosen and barking in time to a polka song. Danny has a change of heart about Viper dating DJ when Viper steps up to help out Jesse (who fired him for dating DJ)when he is ordered to play polka music or vacate the venue. Turns out Viper was Tiny Hines in Big Hines and the Polka Dots as a kid. Jesse and the band don polka outfits and polka instruments and perform KISS's song "I Wanna Rock n' Roll All Night" Polka Style. Stephanie and Michelle try to figure out which of the Monkey Puppets that DJ is dating they see her talking to Mongo and assume she's with him. Umm, kids, Mongo is like 35 years old, that's gross. In fact that's just as or more so upsetting as her dating Viper. Mongo's like Danny's age. I hope you enjoy the podcast episode and have a great weekend! See you in August! Sat, 29 Jul 2023 - 1h 57min - 1011 - Small Wonder: S3E7: The Promotion
Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of She's A Small Wonder: A Small Wonder Podcast. Today, I covered S3E7: The Promotion, which aired on October 24, 1987. In this episode to win a promotion over Brandon's boss fawning, Ted decides to reveal Vicki's robot secret to his boss at a company picnic unaware that Brandon is out to sabotage Ted's effort. As far as episodes go this one was really lackluster, and Brandon Brindle being there only made it worse. Ted wanting to reveal Vicki's a robot to his boss for a promotion, I don't know just feels wrong some how or not the right time. Turns out (spoiler alert) he doesn't get the promotion, Brandon does, and it's a good thing because apparently the promotion is for a robotics management position in Iceland. Jamie disappears to the kissing booth at the company picnic for most of the episode and shows up towards the end with lipstick prints all over his face. We never see the girl running the kissing booth, but according to Jamie she's a fox. How many times has Harriet explained to Vicki how to throw a tantrum? I've lost count as this point. You would think that Ted would have programmed Vicki with a voice recognition that way she only can be programed or reprogramed to take orders from the Lawsons and not just anyone. Think about that, Ted. I'm most excitedly for next month's episode S3E8: The Lawsonville Horror, which aired on October 31, 1987. In this episode an electrocuted Vicki behaves as though possessed. Have a great week and check out the episode on Youtube. All the episodes of Small Wonder are on it.
Wed, 26 Jul 2023 - 49min - 1010 - Full House: S6E3: Road To Tokyo (Jesse's Musical Career Journey Series)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered the next episode in the Jesse's Musical Career Journey Series with, Full House S6E3: Road To Tokyo, which aired on October 6, 1992. In this episode Jesse performs in Tokyo, where his single tops charts. I enjoyed this episode. Jesse's finally seeing his dreams come true (as true for him as they can get at this point). He takes it a little too far in the Rockstar department and Becky has to pull him back into reality after Jesse starts demanding his snacks be a certain flavor, it goes like this, Koji, Jesse's assistant who is assigned to Jesse's every need while he's on tour in Tokyo, Jesse is impressed with his dressing room, complete with, banners, flower arrangements and fruit baskets, but most importantly, the cashews. However, he discovers they are salted, can't have that. So, Koji goes out of the dressing room, fighting off the crowd of crazed fans gathering outside, he finally returns with un-salted cashews, but, OH NO! Jesse now wants honey roasted cashews because he had them on the plane ride over. Becky chastises him for being so picky, but he's got no time for that he's on a schedule thanks to Nancy who's the head of Fat Fish music in Tokyo. He's got a signing, a photo session, press tour, he's even christening a bullet train. Becky fumes at this, when she finds out there is no time on Jesse's schedule for family time with her and the boys. Uh Becky, Fat Fish didn't fly you out to Tokyo for a family vacation, they're paying him to promote his new hit single, which Japan has fallen in love with. They love it so much that Nancy tells Becky, Fat Fish wants Jesse to Tour Asia for the next year. Jesse's flying high on stardom and agrees to it right away, and Becky looses it, kicks out the press and tells Jesse's he's lost sight of his priorities and even himself. She walks out and Jesse realizes that fame isn't all it's worth without the support of his family. The Rippers who are there too, never learn of this tour of Asia, since Jesse tells Koji he's done and heading back home to San Francisco. Funny scene to me, when Jesse attempts to sing "Help Me Ronda" in Japanese (via Koji and some que cards, which ends up getting knocked out of his hands) Jesse has to wing it and just starts saying references to Japan like Karate Kid Part 2, Godzilla, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Honda. Join me next week when I cover the final episode in Jesse's Musical Career Journey Series, Full House S8E7: On The Road Again, which aired on November 8, 1994. In this episode when Danny finds out that D.J. is secretly dating the guitarist in Jesse's new band, Danny forbids her to continue. Have a great weekend and enjoy the podcast!
Fri, 21 Jul 2023 - 2h 18min - 1009 - Full House: S5E25 & S5E26: Captain Video Parts 1 & 2 (Jesse's Musical Career Journey Series)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Podcast. Today, I covered the next episode in the Jesse's Musical Career Journey Series, with the 2 Part Episode Season 5 Finale, Full House S5E25: Captain Video Part 1, which aired on May 5, 1992. In this episode a record company wants to shoot a music video for Jesse's cover of the Beach Boys' song, "Forever." In PART 2: Full House S5E26: Captain Video PART 2, which aired on May 12, 1992. In this episode Jesse faces conflict when a record company asks him to change his image. For these two episodes, I really think it ended Season 5 on a good note. We also had multiple plots going on along side Jesse finding success in the music industry, it may be a crumb compared to the massive success he finds in the Season 6, but none the less, it's exposure for Jesse's music and thanks to the Beach Boys letting Jesse use their song "Forever" it becomes an instant hit (SPOILER ALERT: Just not in United States). Going back to multiple plotlines, we have DJ going to Spain for 6 or 8 weeks, which will evidently lead her to finding love with Steve. Also Michelle is trying to earn her Honey Bee Cooking Badge, but can't seem to ditch the combo deal (ex: chocolate pudding and Velveeta or an olive) (Insert Vomit Emoji) Here's something worse, Michelle's Tuna Cream which consists of Tuna Fish and Oreo Ice-cream. Also this is the last time we see infant Nicky and Alex Katsopolis played by Kevin and Daniel Renteria because in Season 6 the boys get aged up to toddler size with long blond hair and are played by Blake and Dylan Tuomy-Wilhoit, who will remain in the role till the end of the Series and reprise their roles 26 years later on Fuller House. Join me next week as we cover Full House S6E3: Road To Tokyo, which aired on October 6, 1992. In this episode Jesse performs in Tokyo, where his single tops charts. Sat, 15 Jul 2023 - 3h 05min - 1008 - Full House: S5E15: Play It Again, Jesse (Jesse's Musical Career Journey Series)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered the next episode in the Jesse's Musical Journey Series with Full House S5E15: Play It Again, Jesse, which aired on January 7, 1992. In this episode when Becky returns to work, Jesse is uncomfortable with being a stay-at-home father to Nicky and Alex. I enjoyed this episode. After getting turned down by yet another record company, Jesse sinks into a depression which isn't helped when he's regulated to househusband while Becky works, he takes care of the twins, does laundry, gets groceries and makes dinner. He still wants to be known as the breadwinner in his family and as head of household and goes out to sing with an oldies band at the airport lounge to get a paycheck and keep music in his life. With Becky back from maternity leave, that means Vicky is free to accept a new job in Chicago leaving her and Danny to navigate the waters of a long distance relationship. Join me next week when I cover Full House S5E25 Captain Video: Part 1, which aired on May 2, 1992. Fri, 07 Jul 2023 - 1h 35min - 1007 - Small Wonder: S3E6: Read My Lips
Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of She's A Small Wonder: A Small Wonder Podcast. Today, I covered Read My Lips, which aired on October 17, 1987. In this episode Jamie befriends a deaf boy for the wrong reasons. I'll be honest here, and tell you that I wanted so much more from this episode that I didn't get. It was sorely lacking. I mean, sure, it had a teachable moment (Jamie learns a valuable lesson, when doesn't he), but we could have utilized the character of Josh, the hearing impaired or deaf boy as he is referred, where he is in the class room and Vicki is translating the lesson in sign language. I was hoping we would get that. Instead we have her in the hallway being a translator between Josh and Jamie. Or Vicki could have taught Jamie sign language to communicate with Josh. We see Warren again and he just comes off like a jerk, thinking Josh would find him funny because he's speaking really fast and Josh has no idea what he 's saying and he's not even looking at Josh when he's speaking, Josh can only read lips but the person has to be facing him for that to happen. We get another reason for Ted creating Vicki in this episode, to help children with learning difficulties. Actually, Punky Brewster did an amazing episode about a hearing impaired girl who taught Punky sign language. Join me next month when I cover S3E7: The Promotion, which aired on October 24, 1987. In this episode to win a promotion over Brandon's boss fawning, Ted decides to reveal Vicki's robot secret to his boss at a company picnic unaware that Brandon is out to sabotage Ted's effort. Have a great weekend, enjoy the podcast episode!
Sat, 24 Jun 2023 - 53min - 1006 - Full House: S5E5: The King and I (Jesse's Musical Career Journey Series)
Hey Full House Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I'm continuing my coverage of Jesse's Musical Career Journey with, Full House S5E5: The King and I, which aired on October 15, 1991. In this episode Jesse is on the verge of a record deal and ditches the annual Tanner family picnic to write a hit song. Struggling to find inspiration, help might be coming from an unlikely source. I thought this episode good, not one I watch a lot. After struggling to get signed by a music label, Jesse is offered a shot if he can come up with one hit song, he decides to burn the midnight oil, holing himself away in the studio until he can come up with the next earth shattering mega hit to light up the radio waves. I wouldn't sign him, just because every time he gets this chance, he changes his image or sound to what the music label is looking for in new artists and that doesn't work for Jesse. Plus he doesn't have any original music ready to go for them to hear. Coinciding with this is the Tanner Family Reunion, the family is paired off for the competing events, DJ/Steph in the 3 Legged Race, Joey/Becky in the Pie Eating Contest, and Jesse/Michelle in the Balloon Race. After a few days and no luck of a hit song, Jesse bows out of the Reunion, Michelle starts complaining that he's her partner until he finally snaps at her and walks out. I think Jesse struggles to write a song because he just sings covers and I think if he asked the advice of his other bandmembers, they could help and I feel should be included, since they're in the band too. Kimmy just happens to be there and inserts herself in Jesse's place. So this family reunion, I guess Joey, Jesse and Becky are basically grandfathered in because they all live in the same house, and are not of Tanner DNA. I was going to make the complaint family reunions are just that FAMILY gatherings. You don't invite friends, co-workers and neighbors (Jesse, Becky and Joey and now Kimmy), people they see on a daily basis, compared to people you see every few years. It just irked me is all. But if you invite the Tanners, you're inviting EVERYONE in that house including Comet. Jesse after his musical creative well has run dry, heads to a diner to get his creative juices flowing and winds up chatting it up with an Elvis look a like who tells him your babies aren't gonna care if you write a hit song and it makes a bunch of money, all they want is to know you love them and care for them. He also stresses how important family is and how wrong Jesse was to walk out on them by ditching the reunion. Jesse catches up to the family who are stranded in the woods after their van breaks down and he apologizes and all is well. Do they win the competitions, listen to find out? Join me in July when I cover Full House S5E15: Play It Again, Jesse, which aired on January 7, 1992. In this episode when Becky returns to work, Jesse is uncomfortable with being a stay-at-home father to Nicky and Alex. Have a great weekend and I hope you enjoy the podcast episode!
Thu, 22 Jun 2023 - 1h 33min - 1005 - Full House: S7E20: Michelle a la Carte (In Honor of the Olsen Twins Birthday)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today I covered Full House S7E20: Michelle ala Carte, which aired on March 15, 1994, in honor of the Olsen Twins Birthday, In this episode Michelle is excited about building a go-cart with Aunt Becky, but gets discouraged when she hears her dad and Uncle Jesse teasing Becky; Stephanie shows Joey some ballet moves; DJ and Steve deal with the fact that they are no longer a couple. I could not stand Kenny, Michelle's annoying neighborhood that puts the idea in her head that girls can't build down hill derby cars. She decides to prove him wrong by enlisting Aunt Becky to help build one. Messages get mixed as Jesse and Danny start ribbing Becky acting like because she's a girl she can't build a car, which again feeds Michelle's fear that Kenny may be right especially when Becky proceeds to get in on the guys fun by pretending she can't do it with out their help. Danny and Jesse make fun of Joey getting ballet lessons from Stephanie to in his words improve his hockey. DJ and Steve navigate the waters of just being friends after their break up and end up going out for pizza and hanging out as friends. It's cute! I thought this was fun episode with a good message. Join me next week when I cover Full House S5E5 The King and I, which aired on October 15, 1991. In this episode Jesse is on the verge of a record deal and ditches the annual Tanner family picnic to write a hit song. Struggling to find inspiration, help might be coming from an unlikely source. Sat, 17 Jun 2023 - 1h 49min - 1004 - Full House: S7E11: The Bicycle Thief (In Honor of the Olsen Twins Upcoming B-Day)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, in honor of the Olsen Twins's upcoming birthday, I decided to cover Full House S7E11: The Bicycle Thief, which aired on November 23, 1993. In this episode when Michelle's bike is stolen, everyone sets out on a search to find it. Unfortunately, they recover three bikes, non of which are Michelle's. To make matters worse, the family realizes they have now stolen these bikes- and the local crime stoppers group realizes it too! I thought this was a cute and funny episode. I thought it was adorable that Nicky and Alex were calling Jesse and Becky by their first names. This is the first episode that we are introduced to Mrs. Carruthers. She was already smitten or more like obsessed with Joey. Apparently she lives directly across the street from them if she watches Joey get the mail every morning. Yikes! Join me next week as I cover the next episode in the Olsen Twin Birthday honor episode , Full House S7E20: Michelle ala Carte, which aired on March 15, 1994. In this episode Michelle is excited about building a go-cart with Aunt Becky, but gets discouraged when she hears her dad and Uncle Jesse teasing Becky; Stephanie shows Joey some ballet moves; DJ and Steve deal with the fact that they are no longer a couple. Have a great weekend everyone and I hope you enjoy the podcast episode!

Mon, 05 Jun 2023 - 26min - 1002 - Full House: S1E21: Mad Money (Jesse's Musical Career Journey Series)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today for the month of June, I'm kicking off the JESSE MUSICAL CAREER JOURNEY starting with Full House S1E21: Mad Money, which aired on April 29, 1988. In this episode Joey's mother gives him an old savings bond. He tries to pay Danny back an eleven-year-old loan, but Danny refuses. Meanwhile, Jesse has a gig as an Elvis impersonator. I enjoyed this episode, it really kicked off Jesse's love or should say or should I say obsession with Elvis Presley. Joey and Danny squabbling over Joey owing Danny $800 from a time Joey needed to fix his car and forgot to pay it back after he sees Joey going on a spending spree when he finds out his Mom had an old savings bond for him worth $5000. I was surprised Danny had that kind of money to give away in 1978. After all, at the time he would have just recently become a father to DJ and they weren't living in that house yet. He was still in college, I'm sure and married to Pam. Join me next week when I cover the next episode in the Series, Full House S5E5: The King and I, which aired on October 15, 1991. In this episode Jesse is on the verge of a record deal and ditches the annual Tanner family picnic to write a hit song. Struggling to find inspiration, help might be coming from an unlikely source. Have a great weekend everyone!
Fri, 02 Jun 2023 - 1h 37min - 1001 - Small Wonder: S3E5: Its Ok To Say No
Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of She's A Small Wonder: A Small Wonder Podcast. Today, I covered S3E5: It's Ok To Say No, which aired on October 10, 1987. In this episode Jamie and Vicki help the police catch a drug dealer. I thought this was a good episode, but not great. The Season 2 Chewed Out Episode worked a lot better, because it showed the after effects a drug can have on the body if used over a long period of time. Plus Jamie and Reggie were more affected because it happened to someone they knew. With this episode though, it showed a high school dealer hanging around the junior high trying to get kids to buy his Zip-Loc bag of assorted drugs, probably so he could support his habit or pay his dealer or both. This dude was as corny as a after school special about saying no to drugs in the 80's as you can get. His line delivery was so cringeworthy. He looked more like a 26 year old, then someone playing 17. But honestly, everyone looked older back then. Jamie so overly infatuated with Jessica (AGAIN?!) He sends Vicki to sit at the farthest lunch table in that outside cafeteria (apparently Ted programed her so she can eat now). The writer's made Jessica a Pod Person in this episode, she's actually nice to Jamie instead of instantly telling him to F- Off as soon as he sits down next to her. Jamie will never learn. A Nice girl could come along and he'd always wind up with a girl who treats him like $hit because of her looks. Vicki pockets the drugs and puts them in a flower pot where Joan finds them and assumes they're Jamie's. The principal of Jamie's school and a cop use Jamie and Vicki to catch the shady dealer. This scene is so bonkers. Jamie couldn't be more obvious that he's wearing a wire or ear piece and telling the guy to talk directly in his ear or shoulder. All I'm saying is Punky Brewster did this type of episode, better. Join me next month when I cover, hopefully, a better episode in S3E6: Read My Lips, which aired on October 7, 1987. In this episode Jamie befriends a deaf boy for the wrong reasons. Have a great week everyone and I hope you enjoy the episode.
Thu, 01 Jun 2023 - 52min - 1000 - Full House: S7E18: Kissing Cousins (Distant Cousins Double Feature)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered the last episode in the Distant Cousins Double Feature, Full House S7E18: Kissing Cousins, which aired on February 15, 1994. In this episode Jesse's cousin Stavros comes to visit and takes advantage of the whole family. This episode both grossed me out and irritated me. I'll give you the one word reason, although I'm sure you can already guess. Stavros Annoys and horrifies with his behavior and actions, Eats lamb gut Pizza, steals money from DJ and Joey as well aggressively hits on Becky, cornering her in the kitchen. Jesse doesn't even bat an eye when Becky confesses that to him. If I told my husband something like that, I'm telling you, he would be LIVID! That's not even the worst thing he does, he makes up a fake disaster, stating that a mudslide has destroyed his city back home in Greece, thousands of homes destroyed, and families displaced, as a reason to get people to donate money to the(Cause), basically he's lining his pockets for Disney World. He already bought the ticket. Becky with the help of the girls, trick Stavros into revealing his plan over a loud speaker, so Jesse and the rest of the patrons who donated money can hear that there was no mudslide, it was a SCAM! DJ comes up with the plan of instead of giving the donators their money back, they give it to the Children's Hospital, but not before Jesse finally sees Stavros through everyone else's eyes and realizing he was never a good guy. I hope you enjoy the Podcast Episode! Have a great Memorial Weekend!
Fri, 26 May 2023 - 1h 49min - 999 - Full House: S7E22: A Date With Fate (In Honor of Bob Saget's Birthday)
Hey Full House Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered in honor of Bob Saget's Birthday, Full House S7E22: A Date With Fate, which aired on May 3, 1994. In this episode Danny's date and D.J.'s date meet and become attracted to each other. Nicky and Alex learn a Mother's Day song. The double date with Danny and DJ was kinda boring, but I LOVED the side plot with Jesse and the twins getting ready for Mother's Day with handmade gifts and a Mother's Day song. Granted, the boys gave her their gifts and the song half a day early. Becky was fine with it, Jesse was the only one who thought it was ruined because it was on Mother's Day. He could have given her a spa day or taken here out to eat on Mother's Day as a little something special or as a treat for herself. I hope you enjoy the podcast episode and have a great week!
Wed, 17 May 2023 - 1h 32min - 998 - Bonus Episode: Romeo + Juliet (1996) Movie Review (In Honor of Podcast Listener Nicole's B-Day)

Sat, 06 May 2023 - 2h 06min - 997 - Full House: S1E18: Just One Of The Guys (Distant Cousins Double Feature)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered the first episode in the Distant Cousins Double Feature, S1E18: Just One Of The Guys, which aired on March 4, 1988. In this episode D.J. feels left out when her cousin visits and spends most of his time hanging out playing sports with Danny, Jesse and Joey. I enjoyed this episode. I didn't really like Cousin Steve. He kind of came off condescending with DJ, like I've outgrown you and he pats her on the head like she's Stephanie's age when DJ's 11. If I were her that definitely would have rubbed me the wrong way. Shooting down all her suggestions to hangout together especially to go ice skating and also go to a party hosted by her 11 year old friend Jennifer. Sweetie, he's 17, that would be uncomfortable for everyone, especially him and Jennifer's parents. I mean what is he gonna do babysit you all. He's also on vacation. Speaking of DJ, she tries way too hard to be one of the guys and get Cousin Steve to accept her to the point of tackling him to the ground during a family game of touch football at the park. Let's talk about Kimmy's presence in this episode, boy oh boy would her actions not fly today. GAH! She develops a crush on Cousin Steve, so much so that she's oblivious to anything and everyone else around her, including slamming the door in Danny's face when he first walks to the door behind Steve arriving, forgetting her own name when he introduces himself and even being fine with him calling her Kammy. Even after DJ corrects him. But the worst part that actually would not fly by today's family sitcom standards Kimmy keeps smacking Steve's butt whenever she gets the opportunity. He finally turns to her and says "Don't even think about it". He doesn't tell her 'Hey, knock it off" or "Hey, DJ, control your friend or tell her to go home". He's clearly uncomfortable. Speaking of uncomfortable, we meet Stavros (EWW! and GAG!) next week when I cover Full House S7E18: Kissing Cousins, which aired on February 15, 1994. In this episode Jesse's cousin Stavros comes to visit and takes advantage of the whole family. I hope you enjoy the podcast and have a great weekend!
Fri, 05 May 2023 - 2h 34min - 996 - Full House: S4E7: Viva Las Joey (Fathers & Sons Double Feature)
Happy (Almost) Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered the last episode in the Fathers & Sons Double Feature for the month of April with, Full House S4E7: Viva Las Joey, which aired on November 2, 1990. In this episode Joey gets the opportunity of a lifetime when he's asked to open for Wayne Newton in Las Vegas. I enjoyed this episode, Joey got to say things to his Dad that he's probably bottled up inside for the last decade. In the end they make up and apparently his Dad wants to take credit for Joey's Popeye Impression since it was him who stayed with Joey when he had chicken pox at age 3 and watched cartoons (according to Season 1, he mentions he never had them). Watching Joey's Dad do a Popeye Impression was beyond cringe-worthy and embarrassing, both for Joey and us the viewers. Who at 30 years old is going to have a strong memory of something that happened when they were 3, or I'm sure his Mom would have remembered if he had chicken pox as a child or not. DJ and Stephanie call up Joey's Dad and invite him to see Joey's Stand Up Act in Las Vegas, unbeknownst to him when Joey opens the door to his dressing room to see his father standing there, talk about uncomfortable. Danny was right when he told the girls they should have come to him first before they made that call, since they had no idea Joey probably hasn't talked to his Dad in over a decade and with good reason, his Dad is a cold popsicle of a man, no smile, very reserved, but then again, he is Colonel Gladstone. In the end, after their talk, he becomes almost human. I mean he even smiles and gives Joey a long overdue hug. I hope you all have a great weekend and enjoy the episode.
Fri, 28 Apr 2023 - 1h 53min - 995 - Bonus Episode: Andre (1994) Movie Review
Happy Earth Day Everyone, Today, I'm covering the 1994 movie Andre, starring Tina Majorino and Keith Carradine. Movie Synopsis: The true story of how a seal named Andre befriended a little girl named Toni and her family in 1962. I loved revisiting this movie. Such a heartwarming, funny and sweet movie that I hold close to my heart. I hope you all enjoy it and have a Happy Earth Day!
Sat, 22 Apr 2023 - 2h 46min - 994 - Full House: S2E3: Its Not My Job (Fathers & Sons Double Feature)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered the first episode in the Fathers & Sons Double Feature, Full House S2E3: It's Not My Job, which aired on October 28, 1988. In this episode Jesse tells his father he's leaving the family bug-killing business. Stephanie gets her first cavity. I liked this move for Jesse as he starts to venture out into the jingle writing territory and finds success while trying to break away from the family exterminating business even though doing so will break his father's heart as he sees no future for Jesse as a musician since he keeps calling it a hobby. Stephanie has her first cavity which stresses her out and Kimmy doesn't help matters by putting terrifying images in Steph's head of how the procedure is done. Poor kid, now she's having nightmares. DJ and along with Danny and Joey are trying to put her mind at ease but to no avail. Joey comes up with Stephanie finding her courage at the dentist visit, by using a courage detector (spit sucker) to find her courage hanging ball, which is actually the uvula. I honestly don't think that I realized what that was until I became an adult and looked it up on the internet. Even though it's never stated by name in this episode. Just the courage hang-y ball. At least Jesse and his Dad make amends even though his Dad will never accept him as a musician, he will always have his back and be in his corner, We get a Pam name drop, well, Nick (Jesse's Dad) says "when your sister died") and tells him how proud he was of Jesse for stepping up and moving in to help Danny with the girls. I enjoyed this episode finding it cute and heartwarming. Join me next week when I cover the last episode in the Fathers & Son's Double Feature. Sat, 22 Apr 2023 - 2h 33min - 993 - Small Wonder:: S3E4: Bride And Groom
Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of She's A Small Wonder: A Small Wonder Podcast. Today, I covered S3E4: Bride and Groom, which aired on October 3, 1987. In this episode The boss's daughter sets her sights on Jamie. And here I thought Jessica was bad, here comes Karen who's set her sights on Jamie, she's found the man that she wants t spend the rest of her life with and they're only 12. She gives him what he first thinks is a promise ring or going steady ring, nope it's an engagement ring. Yikes, does this girl move fast! She even swears his fidelity until they're wed which won't be until they're legally old enough, so I'm guessing 18, which is 6 years away. I did like that Karen staked her claim on Jamie and told Jamie's love struck stalker Harriet to back off. Karen showing up early on a Saturday morning and waking Jamie up because she wanted to give him breakfast in bed and propose marriage is crazy. But the apple doesn't fall far from the tree when we meet her mother, who has her husband on such a tight leash it's cutting off the circulation to his balls. He can't stand up for himself to save his life. And to make matters worse, their young son Chip sets his sights on Vicki and plans to marry her which the mother is totally fine with. Ted and Joan on the other hand, have a few things to say, especially Ted. Even if this guy is his new boss, it's the wife that pulls the strings. She even mentions a VP position in Ted's future if he agrees to the tween's nuptials. Ted says nuts to that and get the hell out of my house. Harold, Ted's boss finally gets his balls out of the vice grip his wife has them in and tells his wife to suck an egg. No doubt he'll be paying for that later, I wouldn't put it past his wife to be a physical spouse abuser as well as emotional (from what we see in this episode). Overall, good episode though. Join me next month when I cover another SERIOUS Episode, S3E5: It's Ok To Say No, which on October 10, 1987. In this episode Jamie and Vicki help the police catch a drug dealer. Have a great week everyone and I'll back at the end of MAY.
Thu, 20 Apr 2023 - 57min - 992 - Full House: S4E24: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (In Honor of CCB's Birthday)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, in honor of Candace Cameron Bure's Birthday (yesterday) I covered Full House S4E24: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, which aired on April 1, 1991. In this episode Becky enjoys bonding with her new niece DJ, but Becky must learn to be a disciplinarian when DJ takes advantage of her. DJ beyond got on my nerves this episode, she was so selfish, I get that she's a teenager, but she took advantage of Becky, and that is uncalled for. She cared more about what this guy Ryan thought of her, and also she was pulling Becky into the argument with her and Danny, getting her to take her side. If I was Becky I would have left the room and said "I'm just your Aunt, not your mother, I'm staying out of this. At one point in the argument Danny tries to get Becky to side with him. Danny hussling Jesse at pool was the best! He deserved it for talking down to Danny and making him keep score. Michelle tricking Stephanie with saying "Hurry, hurry Comet's having puppies", causing Steph to run into the livingroom seeing Comet contentedly chewing on a rawhide, before she realizes he's a boy and can't physically give birth to puppies. We know by Fuller House timeline he has a hand or paw in the next generation of Comets. Who his baby mama was, we'll never know. Kimmy should never babysit, she treats children horribly (even if it is Aaron) and inviting friends and boys over to a babysitting job. This family should invest in a 90's version of a Nanny-cam. I will say this once and only once, I actually felt bad for Aaron (in this episode only). Overall, a good episode! I also learned according to Becky that the gestation period of an elephant is 22 months, even Danny knew that. What an interesting yet useless bit of info to have for anyone who's not a zookeeper. I hope you enjoy the episode and have a great weekend! Wishing CCB a Happy Birthday! To EMAIL The PODCAST Go To: omfcfhfhpodcast@gmail.com
Sat, 08 Apr 2023 - 1h 45min - 991 - Small Wonder: S3E3: Whodunit
Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of She's A Small Wonder: A Small Wonder Podcast. Today, I covered S3E3: Whodunit, which aired on September 26, 1987. In this episode Jamie takes the blame for a theft to protect a girl. I think the only thing I enjoyed was Jamie dressing like a nerd and getting Jessica to confess to stealing the test answers. The actress who plays her could not stay in character because she was laughing so much. It was hilarious. Also seeing Vicki dressed like a normal kid instead of her red and white dress was a nice change. Join me next month when I cover S3E4: Bride and Groom, which aired on October 3, 1987. In this episode The boss's daughter sets her sights on Jamie. Have a great week everyone!
Tue, 28 Mar 2023 - 52min - 990 - Full House: S8E22: All Stood Up (Good Girls and Bad Boys Series)
Happy (Almost) Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered the last episode in the Good Girls and Bad Boys Series, Full House S8E22: All Stood Up, which aired on April 4, 1995. In this episode we meet final bad boy Ryan (he's really not that bad not like Pete or Bobby) Stephanie asks a boy to the dance and he does not show. Danny goes to talk to him and embarrasses Stephanie. Jesse has to relax but Kimmy and her distractions keep him from doing so. First of all, the whole side plot of Jesse and Kimmy and her ostrich got old really fast to the point where it bordered on irritation. I'm surprised the neighbors nearby didn't call the cops from all the noise they were making. I felt for Stephanie, it took a lot of courage for her to ask Ryan out and the elatedness she felt when he said yes to going to the dance with her. The heartbreak of her realizing that he stood her up and Danny comforting her was heartwarming. However, him going to confront Ryan at the school the next day was a wrong move. I get that he wanted to protect her, but he should have let them work it out themselves. Steph is surprised when Ryan apologizes and invites her to go to the mall for pizza, only to find out later that Danny shamed Ryan for his actions towards Stephanie and now she feels it's a mercy date because Danny made him feel guilty for hurting her. She stands Ryan up because why should she show up if he doesn't really want to be there. Ryan turns up at the house and explains to Steph that her Dad made him realize he was being a creep by being a no show and wants to get to know her better. Yeah, a sweet guy in the end. Granted, we never see him again. I hope you all enjoy this Podcast Episode and I'll be back next month with a new Series! Have a great weekend! To EMAIL The Podcast GO TO: omhcfhfhpodcast@gmail.com
Fri, 24 Mar 2023 - 2h 44min - 989 - Full House: S8E3: Making Out Is Hard To Do (Good Girls and Bad Boys Series)
Happy (Almost) Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta/Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered the next episode in the Good Girls and Bad Boys Series, Full House S8E3: Making Out Is Hard To Do, which aired on October 11, 1994. In this episode Stephanie arrives at Gia's party to discover that the other kids have more advanced games in mind for the evening. I'll definitely say that of the all the "Bad Boys" in this Series, that Bobby is the worst. He pressures Stephanie to make out with him because he doesn't want to look uncool. Also Gia should of known Steph wouldn't want to go to a party like this. It wasn't even a party it was just a bunch of teens making out at the same time in the same room. Side plot of Danny losing his voice was funny and we got to meet Gia's Mom, who mentions to Danny that Steph has been a great influence on Gia, too bad we can't say the same about Gia being a good influence on Steph. Also another side plot Jesse has to deal with the news of his old band The Rippers and their new lead singer Barry Williams. Who become a world wide sensation overnight with their hit song "April Girls". Which I love. We also get a crazy dream of Jesse's where after failing in the music industry and his family basically writes him off and wants nothing to do with him. In this bizarre dream we see Jesse as an overweight auto mechanic with a scalp infection (he's balding) and to top it all off, he's married to Kimmy Gibbler who's dressed like Peg Bundy from FOX's Married With Children. What's more gross than this Becky and Joey kiss via a shared snack cake. I remember being so uncomfortable watching this as a teenager. Join me next week when I cover the last episode in the Good Girls and Bad Boys Series, and we meet Ryan (played by 90's heartthrob Andrew Keegan) Full House S8E22: All Stood Up, which aired on April 4, 1995. In this episode,Stephanie asks a boy to the dance and he does not show. Danny goes to talk to him and embarrasses Stephanie. Jesse has to relax but Kimmy and her distractions keep him from doing so. Thu, 16 Mar 2023 - 1h 38min - 988 - Full House: S5E23: Fives A Crowd (Good Girls and Bad Boys Series)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today I'm kicking off a new Series for MARCH, entitled Good Girls and Bad Boys, and the first bad boy I'm introducing you to is Pete from the band The Funky Tongues in S5E23: Fives A Crowd, which aired on March 21, 1985. In this episode Danny, Jesse and Joey search the drive-in for D.J., who is out with a boy who's never heard the word "No", while Kimmy Gibbler has been left to babysit Nicky and Alex, but it's Stephanie who ends up doing all the work. This was an enjoyable episode. We have DJ going out on what feels like her first date, I could be wrong though, apparently this band The Funky Tongues is the hottest band at Bayview High School according to DJ. Also Pete has a reputation of of being quite "hot stuff" at that school according to Kimmy, girls through themselves at him and he's never heard the word "No". Danny of course regrets agreeing to let DJ go out with Pete after hearing all this and makes it his mission along with Jesse and Joey, the "Dad Patrol" to go to the drive-in movie and rescue DJ. I can't believe he doesn't trust her judgement, but then again look who see went out with. My first impression of Pete gave me Mark from Roseanne vibes Mark being Becky's boyfriend. His first introduction he was real hard core. Pete on the other hand is just rude and smartmouths Danny, I wouldn't let him take out my daughter if I had one. Jesse having already met Pete when his band was recording a demo down in the studio doesn't think much of him either, saying "He's an animal, he's just like I was at 17." To which Danny replies "My baby". The side plot with the award show (which we never see) Becky takes Mr. Woodchuck (Joey's puppet) as her date. Kimmy babysitting the twins (more like standing back and letting Stephanie do all the work) I'd say Steph rightfully earned that $10, was cute to watch. Pete turns out to be a real jerk when he coerses DJ into going to the back of his van to make out while his earsplitting vocals can be heard around the drive-in. DJ finally tells him to back off and let's just watch the movie, he agrees and goes to get popcorn. After seeing the guys there in his van, he tells DJ, dates over so why don't we call it a night and you can go home with your Dad. To sum it up DJ and the guys set some dating ground rules, like no drive ins for a while and be honest about where you're going, if you're seeing a movie, make sure we know it's a drive in. Join me next week when I introduce you to the next bad boy, Bobby, in Full House S8E3: Making Out Is Hard To Do, which aired on October 11, 1994. In this episode Stephanie arrives at Gia's party to discover that the other kids have more advanced games in mind for the evening. Have a great weekend! Fri, 10 Mar 2023 - 1h 55min - 987 - Small Wonder: S3E2: Everyone Into The Pool
Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of She's A Small Wonder: A Small Wonder Podcast. Today, I covered S3E2: Everyone Into The Pool, which aired on September 19, 1987. In this episode Vicki saves Harriet from drowning in the pool. This was an ok episode, dudsville, really, until the last 10 minutes and then BAM! drama city, Vicki tries to pull Harriet out of the pool(not because she was drowning this time, but because she had learned how to swim and was ready to get out of the pool, (what, did she forget how her legs worked and how to climb the ladder out of the pool, lazy ass) it wasn't until I read the comments about this episode on Youtube and went back and looked and sure enough, Harriet for sure pulled Vicki in to the pool and she sank like a stone (because she's a robot) good terrified scream from Harriet (Emily Schulman). We finally get the doctor and nurse that were in the episode according to IMDB in the last ten minutes when Brandon rushes Vicki to the hospital against Jamie's pleading not to for fear Vicki's robot identity will be revealed. How many times to Ted and Joan go to the market? I counted at least three in a single weekend. Ted looks good in his swimsuit, Brandon on the other hand, not so much. We did get a Bonnie mention when referring to CPR when Ted tries to get Brandon to save his life in the pool, but ends up saving Brandon, and Brandon is to dumb to remember being pulled out, so Ted says "Hey, you saved my life, now we're even, no more acting as my servant." Brandon asks Ted "did I perform CPR on you?" and Ted tells him yes, than Brandon says "Don't tell my wife because she'll want me perform it on her". I have a good hunch that Brandon and Bonnie consummated their marriage thus resulting in Harriet than never had sex again. Join me next month when I cover S3E3: Whodunit?, which aired on September 26, 1987. In this episode Jamie takes the blame for a theft to protect a girl. That bitch Jessica is back again and then we see her two other times in Season 3 and thankfully never again after that. Have a great week everyone!
Tue, 28 Feb 2023 - 1h 00min - 986 - Full House: S7E16: Joey's Funny Valentine (Joey's Ladies Series)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I'm covering the last episode in the Joey's Ladies Series, Full House S7E16: Joey's Funny Valentine, which aired on January 25, 1994. In this episode Joey thinks he has found his dream girl, comic Roxy Martin, but she turns out to be a nightmare. Honestly, this synopsis is only half right. Yes, Joey meets a female comedian, calling her a nightmare is a bit harsh. She's a sweet lady, it's just that her level of comedy is different than Joey's, while Joey likes to do impressions of characters and situations, Roxie roasts people, which to me feels like an insensitive form of comedy (pointing out someone's faults or flaws and what you don't like about them) and when Joey invites the family out to see Roxie's performance, they are immediately taken aback when she includes them in her act. Joey sees the family didn't care for her roasting of them, but then Joey gets defensive, saying "you not liking her act is the same thing as saying you don't like her as a person, is that what you're saying?" This side of Joey aggravates me, he didn't give them a heads up to her kind of comedy and that she was including them in her act, he totally ambushed them. Luckily for them, the family sees Roxie in a whole new light after sitting down to dinner and they welcome her into the fold. Roxie is the only one of Joey's Ladies that makes a second appearance on the show. We also have a side plot with a beautiful parrot called Little Sid, that is used as a sidekick for Big Sid's Electronic Store. He's so overjoyed at the return of his bird that he lets the girls pick anything from his catalog for absolutely FREE! Steph wants a Karaoke Machine (Dumb), DJ wants a BIG Screen TV (makes sense), which is funny because you know once all the flat screen TVs come on the market, that Standard Definition BIG SCREEN TV is going to a Goodwill. Danny leaves it up to Michelle (massive eyeroll) she gets the dumbest thing that she probably could have gotten for free, a cardboard standee of BIG Sid and LITTLE Sid. I hope you all enjoyed the Podcast Episode and I'll be back in MARCH for a New Series of Episodes! To EMAIL The PODCAST GO TO: omhcfhfhpodcast@gmail.com
Fri, 24 Feb 2023 - 1h 31min - 985 - Full House: S3E12: Joey & Stacey and... Oh, Yeah, Jesse (Joey's Ladies Series)
Happy Full House (Almost) Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered the next episode in the Joey's Ladies Series, Full House S3E12: Joey & Stacy and... Oh, Yeah, Jesse, which aired on December 15, 1989. (The last episode of the 80's Decade, Everyone). In this episode Comet, the puppy, is an undisciplined chewer, and Jesse bosses around with Joey, who fascinates a background singer to a commercial. I really enjoyed this episode, we got to see puppy Comet, sooo adorable. The bad news is since this is the family's first puppy, they don't understand that he has a destructive side (chewing anything and everything that's left on the floor that he can get his paws on). Puppyhood, I hear can last anywhere from (0-24 Months). At least Danny does enroll Comet later on in obedience training. So, let's go to the third wheel effect with Joey, Stacy and Jesse, the two lovebirds meet when Stacy and Cindi arrive as backup singers for a Permateeth (denturecream) radio ad that the guys are working on. Stacy, we learn is a fan of Joey's comedy, she tells him she's seen his show and finds him hysterical. Cindi introduces herself and tells Joey, I've never heard of you. Stacy gets Joey to do his Roseanne Barr impression. Funny, since the show Roseanne was also on the ABC Network. Joey's got great ideas for this Permateeth radio commercial which include comedy bits, sadly, he has become the silent partner of J & J creative Services since Jesse shuts down all his ideas in reference to putting a comedic spin on the radio ad. Jesse continues to get bossy with Joey (as is the Jesse way) included telling Joey that he and Stacy are going to go bowling with him and Becky (since when does Jesse bowl). I would have loved the Tanners forming a bowling team and taking on the Gibblers. That would be fun to watch. Stacy doesn't like Jesse's dominating behavior over Joey and tells Joey to be more assertive and stand up for himself and his ideas. I really like Stacy and feel she is good for Joey, she lifts up his confidence and supports his ideas. She's the perfect cheerleader for him. Long story short, he takes Stacy's advice and uses his comedic idea as a back up plan when Jesse's Senior Citizen Idea crashes and burns with the Ad Exec Clients. Joey's idea is gold and wins over the clients. Jesse can't stand that Joey's idea was better and leaves him standing in the dust, feeling backstabbed. Joey points out it's good to have a second idea in case it's not what the clients want. Jesse even insults Stacy by calling out Yoko Uno. Jesse is such a jerk for most of this episode. In the end Jesse hears Joey out and agrees he was being selfish and he should listen more because Joey has great ideas. Let's get back to Comet, he crosses a line when he goes after Mr. Bear who was just left on the floor and Comet takes advantage to chew on him with his baby puppy teeth(which are probably sharp like needles). He doesn't know the different between treasured family heirloom and a chew toy. Stephanie finds Mr. Bear who's now in need of some assistance due to loss of stuffing. DJ swoops in and takes care of the patient along with Michelle dressed as an adorable nurse. Although not before Stephanie in a fit of anger tells her Dad, I have no dog! After he tells her having a dog means taking care of things that are precious to you and to keep those things out of reach of puppy jaws. Tune in next week when I close out the Joey's Ladies Series with Full House S7E16: Joey's Funny Valentine, which aired on January 25, 1994. Tue, 14 Feb 2023 - 1h 59min - 983 - Full House: S2E19: Blast From The Past (Joey's Ladies Series)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered Full House S2E19: Blast From The Past, which aired on April 7, 1989 in the new series Joey's Ladies for the month of February. In this episode Joey gets a phone call from an old girlfriend he had at college ten years ago. Kimmy 'spellbinds' DJ and Steph to a very close co-existence that lasts a lot longer than originally anticipated. Danny's obsession with tax codes inspires Michelle to do some monstrous cleaning. I thought this was a good episode. We got to learn more about Joey's past and about how he gave up his heart to a girl who couldn't be more selfish in her actions. She broke up with him when they were in college with basically a deer john letter on her new boyfriend's stationary and broke his heart. Joey had been so in love with her he was going to propose. Fast forward 10 years and his ex Patty Fogerty is back fresh off a divorce possibly from the guy she broke up with Joey for. I knew this woman was bad news just from the phone call and Danny fills us all in since he has an extreme dislike for her. He's very protective of Joey and doesn't want to see him get hurt again. She was bad news then and she's bad news now. She's clearly on the rebound and not looking for a relationship since she just got divorced, she's just looking for a fun time and to laugh and apparently no one makes her laugh more than Joey. Overall, Joey realizes that what they had together was in the past and they're not falling in love again, just falling in love with the memories they shared. My opinion of Patty, she's crazy, she wants to relive her college days so bad, she's living in the past and she can't let go. She even suggests to Joey that they strip down and go streaking through the neighborhood. Lady, you're 30, lay off the cray-cray pills and let Joey move on with his life, and find yours. Good grief! Speaking of bad news Plot B has Kimmy performing a magic show up in the girl's room, it's all fun and games until DJ and Stephanie find themselves handcuffed together. Talk about anxiety inducing. Luckily for them when the rest of the family discovers this Jesse remembers he had a pair of magic cuffs and frees them, he turns the magic on Kimmy when she winds up with her wristed cuffed together. Better get your brother to give you the key and release yourself. Join me next week when I cover Full House S3E12: Joey & Stacy and ... Oh, Yeah, Jesse which aired on December 15, 1989. Fri, 10 Feb 2023 - 2h 08min - 982 - Small Wonder: S3E1: Woodward And Bernstein
Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of She's A Small Wonder: A Small Wonder Podcast. Today, we jump into a brand new Season, with S3E1: Woodward and Bernstein, which aired on September 12, 1987. In this episode Jamie and Reggie vie for chance to win a journalism contest, so they or one of them can be a reporter on the school paper. Joan is back at Jamie's school as a substitute. Whatever happened to his other teacher? Why isn't Joan given a more permanent position as his teacher? I know she's a regular one of his going forward. Maybe she stays a substitute, so the school doesn't have to give her a permanent salary only pays her subsite teacher pay. What was it back then, less than $30 dollars a day? Back in Season 2 when she first substituted for Jamie's class the principal told her she wasn't getting paid anything. I hope that's still not the case. Anyway, we're introduced to a new student Chrissy, luckily for her, Joan doesn't make her stand in front of the class and tell everyone about herself. Since this is apparently the B Plot (Ted taking over household chores is apparently Plot A) there's no time to learn about this girl and this serious after school episode feel gets quickly wrapped up in the last seven minutes of the episode. Since Jamie and Reggie's cafeteria horse meat story for the contest is rejected and the Principal refers to the one page article as a serious allegation against the school and the cafeteria workers (no investigation with the health department, just winds up being (what happened at school today talk) around the family dinner table) with no facts and no proof and no source. Jamie and Reggie find their big break right in the Lawson kitchen when Vicki let's it slip that she basically accused a freaked out Chrissy of being a missing child since her face is on a milk carton (back when milk came in paper cartons and not plastic jugs). Chrissy leaves to tell her Dad and that's the last we see of Chrissy, when Jamie mentions his findings or maybe we should give Vicki and her eagle eye the credit for this one to Joan and Ted they take it seriously and involve Jamie's principal the next day, who at first shames the boys for another serious allegation without proof, luckily for Ted who drove all over town, found another milk carton with Chrissy's face on it and showed the principal who alerted the authorities after Chrissy doesn't show up for school. The episode quickly wraps up with Jamie and Reggie winning the contest, but they're to depressed to celebrate because of poor Chrissy SPOILER ALERT! (who luckily is reunited with her mother). This episode was poorly done if you want to see an 80's show episode about a custody battle kidnapping check out on Peacock, Punky Brewster Season 2 Episode Milk Does a Body Good (with a young Candace Cameron Bure) and also Silver Spoons Season 3 The Babysitters. Both Episodes, the young girl is kidnapped by their father who is afraid of losing custody and kidnaps their child for at least 2 or more years and the mother is happily reunited with the child at the end. Join me next month when I cover S3E2: Everybody In The Pool, which aired on September 19, 1987. In this episode Vicki saves Harriet from drowning in the pool. I hope you enjoy the episode and have a great week!
Wed, 01 Feb 2023 - 1h 41min - 981 - Full House: S1E19E20: The Seven Month Itch PARTS 1 and 2 (Jesse's Ladies Series)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered the last episode(s) since this is a 2 Parter, in the Jesse's Ladies Series with, Full House S1E19 and S1E20: The Seven Month Itch Parts 1 & 2 which aired on March 11, 1988 and March 18, 1988. In PART 1 - Jesse is fed up with his lack of privacy and family responsibilities, especially when they interfere with his love life. In PART 2 - Jesse leaves a note stating he can't take it anymore and wants to get away from the family. Stephanie and D. J. fear he's moving out, so they call and tell him Michelle is really sick so he'll rush home. I enjoyed this episode as Jesse gets away with his friends and his new girl Samantha, he reexamines his life and his priorities and sees that being with the girls and Danny and Joey, being part of a family, is where his heart is and hoe he has to start growing up and making some changes in his life. The girls adjust to Jesse being out of the house and I swear it's like the house and everyone can't function without him there. Joey steps in as cook and we all know he's not the greatest as we see by the strawberry banana pancakes he tries and (fails) to make for the girls, one pancake ends up not completely done and is "soupy in the middle" as Steph puts a finger in it, DJ's pancake is stiff as a board as she bangs it against the table. It gets even worse when Danny attempts to give DJ a guitar lesson, it goes just about as bad as when he teaches her to drive in Season 5, terrible, they both start yelling at each other. DJ demands Danny tell her the truth "Is Uncle Jesse really moving out?" Danny caves and tells her yes, which leads DJ to unloading her feelings about how after her Mom died she didn't want to live in the house anymore, but having Uncle Jesse and Joey move in made living there enjoyable. I like seeing how Jesse's absence affects the girls, enough so that they come up with a plan of action to get him to come home. Cue the phone call, Michelle is sick. Apparently Jesse is the only one that Michelle will take her medicine from. Jesse doesn't think twice as he abandons Samantha and his buddies and heads home. We also get one of our first Jesse/Michelle talks, this is were he makes the decision to stay and be a part of the girls' lives. I think this was the path he was meant to take, he soon meets Becky, and eventually they get married and start a family. If he left the house that never happens and his relationship with Michelle that we know of never develops, Jesse has to stay in that house in order to change and grow and evolve and become the Jesse we know him as. I hope you all enjoy the episode and have a great weekend! To EMAIL The PODCAST GO TO: omhcfhfhpodcast@gmail.com
Fri, 27 Jan 2023 - 3h 32min - 980 - Full House: S1E14: Half A Love Story (Jesse's Ladies Series)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone. Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, we meet Robin Winslow the next woman in the Jesse's Ladies Series in Full House S1E14: Half A Love Story, which aired on January 14, 1988. In this episode Jesse uses baby Michelle to get a date with one of Danny's co-workers. i enjoyed this episode. One thing I can say about Robin is she knows what she wants and what she wants is a career, I mentioned while recording this episode that to me Robin felt like a pre Becky character and we saw how Jesse reacted to her, he was infatuated, because she represented exactly the time of woman he would want to settle down and raise a family with. Girls like Jill Jesse's on again/off again fling, is the type of woman you can have fun with but not someone you would consider for a serious relationship at least from Jesse's perspective as he shrugs her off immediately because he only has eyes for Robin. Robin on the other hand while charmed by Jesse's baby Michelle antics is wary of him due to past guys she's dated that were similar in personality, with the edgy, cut loose, motorcycle riding, leather jacket wearing tough guy types who she says "always gets me into trouble." Robin is straight up honest with Jesse that if she wants to have anything other than a friendship with, she will be the one to make the first move. Join me next week when close out the Jesse's Ladies Series with Jesse's Final Lady, Samantha in the first two part episode of the show, Full House S1E18: The Seven-Month Itch Part 1, which aired on March 11, 1988. Sat, 21 Jan 2023 - 2h 13min - 979 - Full House: S5E8: Gotta Dance (In Honor of Jodie Sweetin's (Stephanie) Birthday)
Hey Full House Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. I have a special episode for today in honor of Jodie Sweetin's (Stephanie) Birthday (January 19). Today, I covered Full House S5E8: Gotta Dance, which aired on November 5, 1991. In this episode In this episode, Stephanie pleads Danny to let her take an intense dance program, but Danny only gives in because he wasn't able to fulfill his dream of being a high jumper. Soon Stephanie decides that she doesn't want to do the intense program any more because it consumes too much of her life, but Danny is living his dreams simultaneously through her. so Stephanie purposely screws up so that she might not have to dance anymore. Becky wants Jesse to come to her baby shower but everyone knows that Jesse would never want to come, so she tricks him into coming. But Michelle gives in to telling Jesse the truth when he bribes her with ice cream. I really liked this episode, it showed us how Stephanie throws herself into dancing before school and after school and soon it consumes her every waking thought until she realizes she's overcommitting herself and missing out on fun family activities like the baby shower. All it takes is DJ planting the seed of doubt by telling Steph "if I had your dedication" I'd have no life". Stephanie ponders this (no friends, no TV, not outside or family activities) and considers telling Danny that she wants to quit dance. At the dance recital Danny unbeknownst to him puts more pressure on Stephanie because he mentions a dance academy summer camp director is there to see the recital and Stephanie realizes it's too much, all dancing all the time during her Summer Vacation. Instead of admit the to Danny, she feels guilty (because she begged him to let her do this) and she interrupts the dance recital by interjecting her own dance moves into the performance. Embarrassed she runs off stage and Danny gets the truth out of her. I love what he says to her ("let's go back to when dancing was just a part of your life and not your whole life"). Her dance classmates forgive her and they try the number again. The side plot with the baby shower was cute, but I feel it would have been nice to have it be "a big monster blow out party before we become parents" as Becky referred to it. Jesse tricking Michelle with a ice cream sundae to spill the beans about it actually being a baby shower, he knows her vices. Jesse and Becky make up and agree to be honest with each other. Yeah, we know that won't last. Remember later in Season 5 when he mixes up the twin babies Nicky and Alex and can't tell them apart only a few episodes later? Have a great week everyone? Fri, 20 Jan 2023 - 1h 17min - 978 - Full House: S1E8: Jesse's Girl (Jesse's Ladies Series)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I'm covering Full House S1E8: Jesse's Girl which aired on November 6, 1987. In this episode on a stormy night, the family is up telling a bedtime story about a girl that caught the eye of both Jesse and Joey. The girl was being tutored by Jesse, but fell hard for Joey. I enjoyed this episode. Let me start out by saying this about Jesse, when he falls for a girl, he falls really HARD. Sadly, this girl, Corrina Spicer does reciprocate, she does however find an attraction to Joey based on the way he interacts with the girls and cares about them. If we can say one thing that defines Joey it's his ability to make people laugh. One quality above all that Corrina finds attractive in a man is a sense of humor, I would definitely agree with that statement. I felt that Jesse came out too strong with her especially when she didn't share his feelings in return. He even treated her to a picnic in the wine district and going down by the bay and other extravagant activities that stretched his pocket book. All though Corrina could have been honest and told Jesse "I'm flattered but I'm not interested in you that way". Let's remember she came to Jesse for guitar lessons which he's not a very good teacher, because he's starts hitting on her the moment she comes into the room, saying she has pretty eyes and then he serenades her with an Elvis song leaning into her face as he sings. If I were Corrina I would be uncomfortable with that. Over all Corrina and Joey are the better match, because Joey doesn't push, he's just himself and that's what she falls for. Join me next week when we meet another woman of Jesse's Ladies Robin Winslow in Full House S1E14: Half a Love Story, which aired on January 15, 1988. In this episode Jesse uses baby Michelle to get a date with one of Danny's co-workers. Now granted she and Jesse didn't go out and decided to just be friends but she still counts because she did agree to go on a date with him. Also we meet an on again off again girlfriend of Jesse's named Jill who has something surprising in common with Robin. Have a great weekend and I hope you enjoy the podcast episode. Fri, 13 Jan 2023 - 2h 04min - 977 - Full House: S1E5: Sea Cruise (Jesse's Ladies Series)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I kick off a new Jesse Series for January 2023, Jesse's Ladies and I'm starting with Full House S1E5: Sea Cruise, which aired on October 16, 1987. Basically covering all the ladies that came before Becky. In this episode Danny's all-male fishing trip turns into a love-boat cruise. The girls spend the night at Grandma's leaving the guys with an empty house for the first time ever. Danny uses this opportunity to suggest they go on a midnight fishing trip down at the marina, just the guys. However Joey and Jesse have other plans of the lady variety, but Danny digs in his heels and plays the guilt card of he's not ready to meet anyone new, so Joey and Jesse give in and they go down to the marina for what they think is a guys only night out, but boy are they surprised. Jesse is reunited with an old flame, famous Rockstar Roxana who brings along her back up singers Yvonne and Vega, and we also have the Captain of the boat Neptune's Bride, none other than Captain Jack's granddaughter Caroline. Danny's turns the co-ed boat trip into a sulk fest with his attitude while Jesse and Joey are over the moon with the female intrusion. I enjoyed this episode, however Danny's stick in the mud attitude got on my nerves. I mean you can do a boys night out anywhere anytime. I do agree that Caroline was coming on a little too strong to Danny with the constant hugging and touching his shoulder clearly making him uncomfortable, but she was a sweet lady once he told her they could be friends. Jesse has to get this jealous chip off his shoulder, just because Roxanna found success outside of your band and you're still playing dive bars. Maybe try writing your own songs and not singing covers all the time. So you're 24 and haven't hit it big in the music industry there's still time to have a number 1 hit in Japan down the road. Join me next week when we meet the next lady of Jesse's, Corrina Spicer in Full House S1E8: Jesse's Girl, which aired on November 6, 1987. In this episode on a stormy night, the family is up telling a bedtime story about a girl that caught the eye of both Jesse and Joey. The girl was being tutored by Jesse, but fell hard for Joey. Have a great weekend everyone and I hope you enjoy the podcast! To EMAIL The PODCAST GO TO: omhcfhfhpodcast@gmail.com
Fri, 06 Jan 2023 - 2h 38min - 976 - Full House: S6E18: Please Don't Touch The Dinosaur (Jesse & Michelle Double Feature)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I conclude the Jesse & Michelle Double Feature for the month of December with Full House S6E18: Please Don't Touch The Dinosaur, which aired on February 23, 1993. In this episode Jesse and Danny both get volunteered to take Michelle's class on a field trip to the museum. Jesse's rowdier bunch of kids cause trouble and end up destroying a dinosaur skeleton. Meanwhile, Stephanie and D.J. get into an argument over who owns a baseball card worth $2,000. I enjoyed this episode. Michelle caught in the middle of having to choose between Danny's group and Jesse's group on a trip to the Museum. Honestly, it's not a hard choice for her, she always chooses Jesse over Danny, and this time Danny takes it a little too personally and starts lashing out at Jesse's chaperon skills after his group of rowdy kids causes chaos of alarming proportions including destroying a million dollar dinosaur skeleton. In this episode Michelle actually accepts responsibly for knocking over the dinosaur after she and Denise are playing tag. Aside from that fun time, DJ and Stephanie go head to head arguing over an old baseball card of Joey's that may or may not be worth ten thousand dollars (it's been in his car for years, I don't think it's worth one hundred dollars if Joey's car is kept anything like his bedroom closet). Stephanie found it while cleaning out his trunk to earn money for a new bike. DJ's obsession with limo's is a bit much, but we all know she got to hang out in Tommy's Page's limo back in Season 5 when she took him on a tour of San Francisco in the episode Crushed. I hope you all enjoy the podcast episode and join me in the new year 2023 for a new Jesse Series to kick off 2023. To EMAIL The Podcast GO TO: omhcfhfhpodcast@gmail.com
Fri, 30 Dec 2022 - 1h 55min - 975 - The Wonder Years: S1E22: Love, Dean
Happy Wonder (Almost) Wednesday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Looking Back On My Wonder Years: A Wonder Years Podcast. Today, I wrapped up my coverage of Season 1 with S1E22: Love, Dean, which aired on May 18, 2022. In this episode It's the end of the school year, and summer excitement is all around; Bill and Lillian each receive major career opportunities; Dean and Keisa take shelter together as a tornado tears through. This was a good way to wrap up the first Season. I enjoyed getting to know these characters and watch them grow and develop and look forward to seeing their new adventures in Season 2. I hope you enjoyed going along on this journey with me and will continue when I start up with Season 2 in 2024. Until then feel free to go back and revisit the show on Hulu or Disney Plus and re-listen to my reviews in the meantime until next time. Have a great 2023! Tue, 27 Dec 2022 - 1h 57min - 974 - Small Wonder: S2E24: Double Wedding
Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of She's A Small Wonder: A Small Wonder Podcast. Well, after two years we've finally come to the end of Season 2. Today, I covered S2E24: Double Wedding, which aired on May 23, 1987. In this episode the Lawsons decide to renew their wedding vows, and of course just like we'd expect the Brindles gotta horn in on Ted and Joan's romantic gesture. As far as finale's go, this one was good. We get to say good to Bonnie for quite a while since she only returns for one more episode in late Season 3 Episode 14, which I won't be getting to until sometime in 2024. Also the Lawsons duck out of their vow renewal ceremony after the Brindles bum rush it and find a chapel and have a justice of the peace perform. Ted gives the sweetest vows to Joan. I was worried since they left the Brindles and guests alone in their house that they would come home to find it trashed, but we never find out since we end credits in the church. I got into a run down of episodes for Season 3 and I gotta admit I am psyched! A lot of serious after school special episodes, like a school drug bust, a child abduction, a child with leukemia, a child who's deaf, and an episode about Book-It and I believe we get to meet Vanessa the evil robot played also by Tiffany Brissette in a dual role. As well as the return of that beeotch Jessica who I can't stand and adorable Warren. 2023 and 2024 are going to be great years for Season 3 of Small Wonder. I hope you enjoy the Podcast Episode and see you in January 2023.
Tue, 27 Dec 2022 - 1h 06min - 973 - Full House: S5E19: The Devil Made Me Do It (Jesse & Michelle Double Feature)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered the first episode in the Jesse & Michelle Double Feature which I chose for December, Full House S5E19: The Devil Made Me Do It, which aired on February 18, 1992. In this episode the temptation to fiddle with Jesse's forbidden music equipment is too great for Michelle; but when Jesse lands her in hot water for it, the little devil in her wants to burn him. Elsewhere, Kimmy and Stephanie are at each other's throats, and it's up to D.J. to referee the proceedings. I really liked this episode! Jesse and Michelle's relationship is put to the test when Michelle plays with Jesse's music equipment in his studio after he recently forbade her from doing so. She calls him "Uncle Tattletale" after Jesse explains to Danny what happened. Michelle of course is punished and she chooses to retaliate after being visited by her consciences in physical form, "Good Michelle" and "Bad Michelle". It's a battle of wills as "Bad Michelle" encourages her to run away from home to teach "Uncle Tattletale" a lesson and "Good Michelle" tries to reign Michelle in and keep her from going over to the dark side. Michelle winds up at Teddy's house where we meet his family including his sister (played by his real life older twin sisters Tia and Tamara Mowry) who would later star in their own TGIF ABC sitcom Sister, Sister. I immediately recognized Teddy's dog Sparky from earlier in Season 4 and also the 1992 Movie Beethoven. I also recognize the "Old Maid" Card game that Michelle and Teddy are playing because we had the same cards at my Grandparents house. The Old Maid card had a crease down the middle and we could always tell who had it whenever we played. Jesse has a creative way to teach Michelle a lesson of her own to make her think twice about running away again and I for one think it was brilliant. On the Plot B side, DJ is sick of her best friend Kimmy and her younger sister Stephanie arguing all the time, so she forces a sit down with them until they can agree. It backfires in DJ's face, because the one thing that Kimmy and Steph agree on is how DJ's habits annoy them beyond belief to the point where DJ feels like the third wheel when Kimmy invites Steph out for some frozen yogurt. Join me later this month when I cover the finale episode in the Jesse & Michelle Double Feature, Full House S6E18: Please, Don't Touch The Dinosaur, which aired on February 23, 1993. Have a great weekend everyone! TO EMAIL The PODCAST GO TO: omhcfhfhpodcast@gmail.com
Sat, 10 Dec 2022 - 2h 01min - 972 - Full House: S5E24: Girls Will Be Boys (BONUS Michelle and Friends Series Episode)
Hey Full House Podcast Listeners, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered Full House S5E24: Girls Will Be Boys, which aired on April 28, 1992. In this episode When her best friend Teddy ignores her for being a girl, Michelle decides she wants to become a boy instead. Meanwhile, Jesse gets a part on Joey's TV show, and DJ catches Stephanie listening in on her phone call. This was a good episode. I really liked it. Michelle loses Teddy (temporarily) to Aaron (Mr. Bossypants) when Aaron starts hassling Teddy about playing/hanging out with girls which apparently at age 5 is something boys just aren't allowed to do (according to Aaron). Teddy who will not stand up to Aaron follows his lead leaving Michelle to ponder, what do I do now, since I lost my best friend? She takes it upon herself to start dressing like a boy since that's the only way to get Teddy to hang with her. During a play session of playing guns (can't get more 90's then that, along with Michelle's idea of playing house)Teddy gets fake injured and Michelle morphs into rescue nurse mode. Upon seeing this Aaron calls her out on not being a "real boy" since boys can't be nurses and he takes Teddy who looks at Michelle and says "Nice try Michelle", like she was attempting to fool him. She was desperate to hang out and changing her clothes and attitude was the only way Teddy would respond. Danny explains that what's going on with Teddy is a stage or a phase and he'll grow out of it, so in the mean time she just has to ride this out. Danny starts to tell Michelle that one day boys will want to hang out with her all the time and that's when Danny goes through his "keep away from my daughter stage". This statement (which I get was played for laughs) just goes way over Michelle's head, she looks at Danny and tells him " I just want my best friend back". Luckily for her, Teddy has finally tired of Aaron's bossiness but when he tried to be friends again Michelle has already tied herself to her new best friend Denise. Michelle explains to Teddy he is going through a stage and doesn't want to play with girls and that's why they can't hang out. Teddy begs Michelle to take him back and she relents happily cheering "Yay, the stage is over". All the three kids ice out Aaron who is now friendless until they give in and tell him we're playing hide and seek and you're up first, so go hide and we'll find you. Michelle whispers to Teddy "Maybe" We can't forget DJ's payback on Stephanie for listening on her phone calls. She makes Steph so paranoid that DJ is out to get her that Stephanie jumps whenever DJ comes up behind her and freaks when she thinks DJ is going to feed her a poisonous brownie. I have to hand it to DJ, this plan was brilliant! Have a great week everyone! I hope you enjoy this Podcast Episode! To Email The Podcast GO TO: omhcfhfhpodcast@gmail.com
Wed, 30 Nov 2022 - 1h 59min - 971 - The Wonder Years: S1E23: Where No Dean Has Been Before
Happy Wonder Wednesday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Looking On My Wonder Years: A Wonder Years Podcast. Today, I covered S1E23: Where No Dean Has Been Before, which aired on May 11, 2022. In this episode Dean tries to impress Keisa's cool new boyfriend by inviting him and his friends to a party Kim is throwing while Bill and Lillian are away for the night; things get out of hand just as Bill and Lillian arrive home. This was a fun episode. I really liked Keisa's new boyfriend Broderick, he was a sweetheart and actually has something in common with Dean other than the fact they both like Keisa, they're both fans of the show Star Trek. I can't believe that Lillian was willing to go to work for a company that was going to dictate how she dressed in order to impress new clients and also not be allowed to speak her mind. Luckily, she makes the right choice in the end. Dean throws a party in the basement and it gets out of hand, no surprise there, since Dean can't find the ability to stand up for himself. Join me next month for the Season 1 Finale, S1E24: Love, Dean, which aired on May 18, 2022. In this episode, It's the end of the school year, and summer excitement is all around; Bill and Lillian each receive major career opportunities; Dean and Keisa take shelter together as a tornado tears through. Hope you enjoy the Podcast Episode! Have a great rest of the week! To EMAIL The Podcast GO TO: lbomwonderyearspodcast@gmail.com
Wed, 30 Nov 2022 - 1h 20min - 970 - Full House: S8E4: I've Got A Secret (Michelle and Friends Series)
Happy Turkey Day Full House Podcast Listeners, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered the last episode in the Michelle and Friends Series, Full House S8E4: I've Got A Secret, which aired on October 18, 1994. In this episode Danny causes problems for Michelle when she joins a secret club. D.J. becomes jealous when Kimmy dates her former boyfriend. Jesse and Rebecca agree to divulge the names of their past loves. I enjoyed this episode, but I feel this is just a repeat of the same lesson in Be Your Own Best Friend from Season 7, when Michelle gets dumped by Teddy and Denise as friends. But honestly, the reasoning or rules for how to obtain this Super Fortress are beyond ridiculous. It's $39, no kid in 1994 under the age of 10 has that kind of dough unless it's a holiday or their birthday or they managed to save their allowance for months on end and not spend any of it (highly unlikely). Also if one of them does manage to get this crazy popular (think 80's Cabbage Patch Doll/90's Tickle Me Elmo) play figure set, then said kid gets to be president of the newly formed club Mighty Mutant Super Kids (sounds like a mash up of Power Rangers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and maybe Captain Planet thrown in for the earth saver kids, like Derek, he looks like he cares about the environment and Michelle too.) Danny flat out turns her down when she asks for the money and Joey has supposed intel that a toy store is getting a shipment of these hard to get toys because he's got his name on a few waiting lists. Danny spills the beans about the club to Michelle's friends when he brings them popcorn. The kids all turn on Michelle and remind her she was sworn to secrecy about revealing the club's existence to the outside world (meaning adults, siblings, other kids etc.)She gets kicked out in less than 24 hours of the club being created. Lisa practically forces Michelle to rip out her toenails and eat them. (GAH!, I'm still gagging from that). BTW, she didn't have too. Danny, Jesse and Joey figure the only way to get Michelle back in the club is to get this toy. They get to the store and it's like Black Friday on steroids. There's trampling, stomping on backs, beatings with purses. The guys are lucky they made it out in one piece, everyone's safe (except for Jesse's comb Mr. Goodpart and some of Danny's ribs). Danny is desperate so he goes the route of Andy's Mom from the 1980's horror movie Child's Play and pays a guy in the alley for a Super Fortress (not a Good Guy doll). When he delivers it, it's not wrapped in plastic and the other kids discover to their horror that it's a cheap knock off playset with U.S. President Play Figures instead of their favorite MMSK characters like Super Mandy and the Evil Lord Fungo. Michelle's fed up and threatens to start her own club with her and only her (maybe Comet can join)when the kids start laughing at Danny's torn and dirty shirt and whatever else he want through to get this thing. He paid $75 (that's $75 in 1994, may as well have been $150) to a guy in an alley for this cheap imitation. Danny tells the kids the whole point of having a club is to hang out because you all like each other. They agree with him and let Michelle back in the club. Side Plot with Jesse and Becky making each other jealous with lists of past loves was not that interesting and just ate up screen time. Have a great holiday everyone (if you celebrate it)! Thu, 24 Nov 2022 - 2h 06min - 969 - Small Wonder: S2E23: Vicki Goodwrench
Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of She's A Small Wonder: A Small Wonder Podcast. Today, I covered the second to last episode of Season 2, S2E23: Vicki Goodwrench, which aired on May 16, 1987. In this episode Vicki turns out to be a wizard at car repairs. I thought this was an ok episode, maybe a smidge of a dud. But much better than the worst episode I feel of Season 2, Top Secret. Jamie wants to make extra money and so he has Vicki go with him to an auto garage and offer himself and Vicki as a package deal to clean up the place. Jamie sits on his a$$ sucking down small plastic containers of OJ, while Vicki does all the work. Of course he does, because he's Jamie and he's lazy like nobody's business. Vicki turns out to be a genius at fixing cars at least at the beginning after Jamie has her read a repair manual, which she reads in a matter of seconds. Reminds me of Arnold in the movie Twins when he reads the owners manual of a car and learns how to drive in less than a couple hours. You will hear me repeatedly complain about Ted's 1980's pedo glasses. I can't remember him ever wearing them and hope he never does again in the rest of the series. Fingers crossed! Join me next week when I cover the Season 2 Finale, S2E24: Double Wedding, which aired on May 23, 1987. In this episode The Lawsons decide to renew their wedding vows. Have a good week everyone!
Thu, 24 Nov 2022 - 45min - 968 - Full House: S7E21: Be Your Own Best Friend (Michelle and Friends Series)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast, Today, I covered the next episode in the Michelle and Friends Series, with Full House S7E21: Be Your Own Best Friend, which aired on April 5, 1994. In this episode Danny suggests Michelle's class do a project of drawing their best friend. But when Michelle can't decide whether to draw Teddy or Denise, they quit being friends with her. I enjoyed this episode. It was cool to see Teddy return to the show after a year and a half away. His last episode S6E2: The Long Goodbye which aired on September 29, 1992 and then this episode S7E21: Be Your Own Best Friend which aired on April 5, 1994. He's been away for a while. I wonder if Michelle and Teddy exchanged letters over that time. My guess is no, otherwise she probably would have known he was moving back. Unless he wanted to surprise her and boy, was she. Poor Denise feels left in the dust, actually no, she fights for her new first place best friend role, that is until she and Teddy decide to compete for the top spot of best friend in Michelle's life. Granted Michelle doesn't make it easy on either of them, as they start offering whatever they have on them, Teddy offers up his Snickles Candy (which are fake and look like Nerds Candy)(a box that has been in his pocket all day, gross!) Denise offers up her scrunchie (she was really reaching the bottom of the barrel there since she takes it right out of her hair and hands it to Michelle),Michelle starts eyeing Denise's Jasmine pencil case and then things take a turn as Denise wises up and tell Michelle she doesn't care if the pencil case would go great with Michelle's Abu Eraser, she's not giving it to her, Teddy follows suit and then the two team up as besties leaving Michelle with no best friend for the Best Friend Project at school. The second story follows Jesse and Joey and Joey's girlfriend Roxie who leave Jesse out of his own Radio Show when they monopolize the airwaves with their witty chatter. Jesse tries to compete by inviting Becky on the show and then the it turns into an absolute mess, with two conversations going on and my guess is the listeners are changing the station to one that plays actual music. Join me next week, when I cover the final episode in the Michelle and Friends Series, Full House S8E4: I've Got a Secret, which aired on October 18, 1994. In this episode Danny causes problems for Michelle when she joins a secret club. D.J. becomes jealous when Kimmy dates her former boyfriend. Sat, 19 Nov 2022 - 2h 15min - 967 - Full House: S6E2: The Long Goodbye (Michelle and Friends Series)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I kick off the month of November with the Michelle and Friends Series, starting with Full House S6E2: The Long Goodbye, which aired on September 29, 1992. In this episode Michelle and Danny both mourn their long-distance relationships. Michelle learns that Teddy is moving , not to another city, but to another state entirely. We're talkin' Texas, guys! My current home state. He's actually moving to Amarillo, haven't been, but whenever I hear it mentioned I think of Teddy. Granted us reg OG Full House watchers, we know Teddy comes back in Season 7. In fact that's the next episode in this series. So anyway, Michelle is heartbroken, we're talking Howie goes back to Nebraska from Season 2, heartbroken. Well, at least Howie got off easy, I mean, it's not like Michelle at two years old, tied him to a chair, hoping his family would leave without him. Poor Teddy, this isn't easy for him either. Also in this episode, we see the last of Pinky the Pig, Michelle had given him to Jesse as a goodbye present in the Season 4 Episode, Fuller House (not to be confused with the spin-off sequel show in 2016). When Jesse and Becky move into the attic, he gives the stuffed pig back to Michelle. Pinky heads to Texas with Teddy and Michelle welcomes into her stuffed animal family, Furry Murray. I was tearing up at their goodbye scene. Because like them, I too, have lost friends, some moved away to another town or school district, other moved out of state, some lost touch and some returned to my life down the road. Now, let's get to Danny and Vicki, who now in Season 6 are adjusting to a long distance relationship, he's in San Fran and she's in Chicago. It's tough, but they are determined to see it through, granted in Season 7 she takes a job as a network news anchor in New York and she and Danny break off their engagement as well as end their relationship. Join me next week in the Battle of Michelle, she's caught in a tug-o-war between her new friend Denise and old friend Teddy, who's moved back from Texas, when I cover Full House S7E21: Be Your Own Best Friend, which aired on April 5, 1994. In this episode Danny suggests Michelle's class do a project of drawing their best friend. But when Michelle can't decide whether to draw Teddy or Denise, they quit being friends with her. Whoever said you can't have two best friends is wrong, IMO. Have a great weekend everyone! To EMAIL The PODCAST GO TO: omhcfhfhpodcast@gmail.com

Thu, 03 Nov 2022 - 32min - 965 - Bonus Episode: Alvin and the Chipmunks: Nightmare On Seville Street
Happy Halloween Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Looking Back On My Wonder Years: A Wonder Years Podcast. Today in the spirit of the holiday I decided to cover a spooky Alvin and the Chipmunks Episode, this one comes from Season 7 and aired in September 1989, entitled Nightmare On Seville Street. In this episode on a Saturday afternoon Dave takes the boys to the movies to see the Fuzzie Bunnies: The Homecoming Movie although Alvin really wants to see Hideous Harold PART X1 (11). As soon as Dave leaves and the boys head to their theater, Alvin makes a detour for the horror film and Simon and Theodore have no choice but to follow him in. They all get freaked out, since this movie looks like a combination of Nightmare On Elm Street (Alvin reference's Nightmare Land) we see this old man with a gray mustache wearing a slicker and hat (similar to the fisherman in I Know What You Did Last Summer), (he also has a rake garden trowel for a hand)but this guy is burning down small cabins which gave me Friday the 13th vibes (even if I've never seen the movie). Dave picks the boys up from the movie and they walk out of the theater with their hair standing on end (it's actually kind of cute). The boys go home and once it gets dark out they're afraid to go to sleep, Dave still has no idea they saw the horror movie. Then the lights go out and Dave has to change a fuse which is located outside the house. Not surprising he gets locked out and finds a slicker and hat identical to Hideous Harold's hanging on the side of the house. Did I mention it's raining and storming outside like the world is coming to an end. The boys notice who they think is Hideous Harold but it's just Dave trying to get their attention to let him back in the house (he even climbs on the roof to get to their window on the second floor of the house. The boys since they can't sleep, rig up a device that will take out this supposed creepy man complete with a bat as a battering ram and a net. There is even a song about capturing Hideous Harold. It's kinda catchy. Luckily for Dave, he finally convinces the boys that it's him and then to teach them a lesson he makes the boys spend a whole Saturday cleaning the house top to bottom. I hope you enjoy the Podcast Episode and have a safe Halloween and great week!
Tue, 01 Nov 2022 - 43min - 964 - Bonus Episode: Wishbone: S2E1: Halloween Hound The Legend of Creepy Collars PART 1 & 2
Happy Halloween Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Looking Back on My Wonder Years: A Wonder Years Podcast. Today, I'm covering another Bonus Episode, Wishbone S2E1: Halloween Hound The Legend of Creepy Collars Part 1 & 2, which aired on October 15, 1997. In this episode PART 1: "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow' dominates as Halloween comes to Oakdale. Wishbone imagines himself as Ichabod Crane while Joe and his two schoolmates participate in Oakdale's scavenger hunt. In this episode PART 2: Wishbone and the gang participate in Oakdale's first annual Halloween scavenger hunt, complete with a haunted house. I really love this episode, it's perfect for this time of year. It kicks off Season 2 of the show with a 1 Hour Special Halloween 2 Part Episode and the book featured for this episode is The Legend of Sleepy Hallow by Washington Irving. Ichabod Crane's fear of ghosts or spirits as he refers to them match up perfectly with Joe's (Wishbone's owner) fear of being unlucky (Wishbone missing Joe's basketball practice, Joe wearing smelly socks for "good luck" and a black cat crossing his path)and the old Murphy place (which is just an old run down house)as well as the past two Halloweens being "unlucky" for him (one year he sprained his ankle and couldn't play basketball and the other Halloween he came down with Chicken Pox). Joe's Mom along with his friends (David and Sam) tell him this bad luck nonsense is just all in Joe's head and he's making a big deal out of it. Honestly Joe's incessant whining about Halloween being bad luck for him was getting annoying. He kept saying how he just wanted to stay home and help his Mom hand out Halloween candy or keep an eye on Wishbone, both his friends weren't having it, since they signed him up with them for scavenger hunt which takes them all over Oakdale and ends at the "old Murphy Place, thus Joe facing his fears. Just like Ichabod and the Headless Horseman. I hope you all enjoy this Podcast Episode and have a safe and Happy Halloween (If you celebrate it).
Sun, 30 Oct 2022 - 2h 21min - 963 - Bonus Episode: Wishbone: S1E9: Digging Up The Past
Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I am bringing to you a Bonus Episode of one of my favorite shows growing up, besides Full House. I covered the PBS 1995 show Wishbone, all about the little dog with the big imagination. If you grew up in the 90's like me you definitely watched this show and if you were a teenager like me in 1995 you probably also had a crush on Wishbone's owner Joe Talbot like I did. The episode I decided to cover is Wishbone S1E9: Digging Up The Past, which aired on October 17, 1995. In this episode Joe, Ellen and Wishbone meet a woman who lived in their home over 40 years ago, who comes to see the house and find the treasures she left behind as a kid. Wishbone imagines himself as Rip Van Winkle who falls asleep for 20 years and doesn't recognize anything or anybody, and can't get anyone to believe who he is. I chose this episode because it is one of my favorites, it's all about going back and rediscovering your past, and if you're like Dr. Brown (not that Dr. Brown from Back to the Future) you revisit your old childhood home. And if you're lucky the new owners might let you inside and look around and if you're really lucky, you just might be able to check out your old bedroom. The classic story that parallels is of Rip Van Winkle by Washington Irving. Since these episodes are only 30 minutes long, we only get 15 minutes of Oakdale and Wishbone's story and 15 minutes of a classic literature book giving us just enough nuts and bolts of the story to get the gist of it or check the book out on our own time if we want to know the complete story and fill in the blanks that the show doesn't cover. I hope you enjoy this Podcast Episode! I plan to cover some more episodes of Wishbone in 2023. Maybe even start up my own Wishbone Podcast at some point, We'll see. Have a great weekend everyone and Happy Reading!

Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I conclude the Joey and the Girls Series with Full House S7E9: The Day of the Rhino, which aired on November 9, 1993. In this episode Michelle and her friends get ripped off after sending in their money for giant plush Rigby rhino dolls and confront Rigby during a public appearance at the mall. Vicki and Becky teach D.J. a lesson how guys will say anything to compliment women's appearances, while Jesse and Danny teach Steve how to comment women's looks tactfully. I really enjoyed this episode. Joey taught Michelle a valuable lesson about standing up for yourself when it comes to being taken advantage of after spending your hard earned money on something that turns out, isn't as advertised. DJ and Steve teach the adults, Danny, Vicki, Jesse and Becky a thing or two about honesty and not just telling someone what you think they want to hear, to spare their feelings. Join me in November when I kick off the new series, Michelle and Friends with Full House S6E2: The Long Goodbye, which aired November 29, 1992. In this episode Michelle and Danny both mourn their long-distance relationships. I hope you enjoy the Podcast Episode! Have a great weekend everyone! Fri, 28 Oct 2022 - 2h 20min - 961 - The Wonder Years: S1E20: Bill's New Gig
Happy Wonder Wednesday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Looking Back On My Wonder Years: A Wonder Years Podcast. Today, I covered S1E20: Bill's New Gig, which aired on April 20, 2022. In this episode Bill is excited to have made tenure at the university, only to find that his focus on career and family has cost him a spot in his band; Bruce adjusts to living at home. I enjoyed this episode. I totally got vibes of Full House when Bill gets kicked out of his own band and replaced. Just like in Full House Season 8, when the Rippers dropped Jesse and joined up with Barry Williams of The Brady Bunch Fame as their new lead singer. Bill goes out on his own and ends of playing piano for a woman named Janice, whos sultry ways make for an interesting family outing when the Williams family comes out for Bill's debut as a piano player for this new female lounge singer. Let's just say Dean takes matters into his own hands when he thinks this woman is putting the moves on Bill and disrupting his parent's marriage. I really enjoyed Bill and Lillian collaborating on his song writing. Seeing Bruce almost move in with his girlfriend Tammy who has a kid gave me serious OG Wonder Years Season 6 Wayne and Bonnie vibes. Join me next month when I cover S1E21: Where No Dean Has Been Before, which aired on May 11, 2022. In this episode Dean tries to impress Keisa's cool new boyfriend by inviting him and his friends to a party Kim is throwing while Bill and Lillian are away for the night; things get out of hand just as Bill and Lillian arrive home. Thu, 27 Oct 2022 - 1h 24min - 960 - Fuller House: S1E8: Secrets, Lies, and Firetrucks (In Honor of Elias Harger's (Max Fuller) Birthday)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, in honor of Elias Harger's (Max Fuller) birthday (tomorrow), I covered Fuller House S1E8: Secrets, Lies and Firetrucks, which aired on February 26,2016. In this episode when Max learns to lie, he also learns that lies can backfire. Meanwhile, the ladies of the house fall in love with secrets. I really enjoyed this episode. It was cute with Cosmo chewing up the Tanner Couch and Baby Tommy constantly bouncing in his playpen. Also seeing Danny with his grandkids was so sweet. The Sofa Jacket that Stephanie makes for Danny is awesome! I love it! Join me next week when I cover the final episode in the Joey and the Girls Series with Full House S7E9: The Day of the Rhino, which aired on November 9, 1993. In this episode Michelle and her friends get ripped off after sending in their money for giant plush Rigby rhino dolls and confront Rigby during a public appearance at the mall. Sat, 22 Oct 2022 - 1h 31min - 959 - Small Wonder: S2E22: The Cat's Meow
Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of She's A Small Wonder: A Small Wonder Podcast. Today, I covered Small Wonder S1E22: The Cat's Meow, which aired on May 9, 1987. In this episode Vicki becomes jealous of an electronic cat. I thought this was a funny episode, Bonnie was hilarious even though I can't stand her. CPS needs to be called on The Brindles, because I feel Harriet is in an unsafe environment. If Vicki is jealous of this cat can you imagine what she would do to a baby if Ted and Joan had one. This idea frightens me to the core. Joan mentions in this episode wanting a little baby girl and giving Vicki a little sister. Join me next month when I cover S2E23: Vicki Goodwrench, which aired on May 16, 1987. In this episode Vicki turns out to be a wizard at car repairs. Have a great week everyone!
Wed, 19 Oct 2022 - 1h 08min - 958 - Full House: S5E13: Easy Rider (Joey and the Girls Series)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered the next episode in the Joey and the Girls Series, Full House S5E13: Easy Rider, which aired on December 3, 1991. In this episode Michelle decides that she wants to learn how to ride a two-wheel bike with out training wheels. she asks her dad for help but he has to spend the day with co-star Vicky so that they can plan their week. However, all they can talk about is the kiss they shared the week before. Meanwhile Joey offers to help Michelle learn to ride, and she agrees, but he uses the classic technique of letting go, and Michelle falls into a bush. She yells at him and says that she cant trust him anymore. So when they get home Joey, as Bulwinkle, says that he can help her clean her scrape. She gives in and then it stings and she yells at him again. Becky and Jesse decide to take the twins on their first car ride. A spontaneous one. But after two hours of packing up and getting prepared spontaneous isn't exactly the word to describe their trip. I really enjoyed this episode. It reminded me of when I got my training wheels off when I was 7. I rode my two wheel bike down a hill. I still say that Joey should have had Michelle learning how to ride the two wheeler in the backyard on the grass so if she did fall it would be on the grass and not in a bush or a heavily trafficked sidewalk at the park. It's like once you master that then you move on to the sidewalk. Danny and Vicki decide if the kiss they shared means anything like if they're in a relationship or just co workers who were caught up in the moment. Jesse and Becky turn a two hour car ride of visiting Becky's Aunt Ida and visiting the Harley shop into journey across the United States of America with deciding what to pack for the twins you'd think they'd be gone for a month. Rain gear, Sun hats and blankets, oh my! If the weather changes that frequent in the course of two hours we're all doomed! Can't forget those Elvis Mobiles! Ya know what they say... never leave home with out it! Join me next week when I cover the last episode in the Joey and the Girls Series. Full House S7E9: The Day of the Rhino, which aired November 9, 1993. In this episode Michelle and her friends get ripped off after sending in their money for giant plush Rigby rhino dolls and confront Rigby during a public appearance at the mall. Sat, 15 Oct 2022 - 2h 49min - 957 - Full House: S3E18: Mr. Egghead (Joey and the Girls Series)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I'm kicking off a new Series for the month of October, Joey and the Girls, the first episode Full House S3E18 Mr. Egghead, which aired on February 16, 1990. In this episode Joey gets a job as a guest host on an educational television show for children, where a prop injures Stephanie. I really enjoyed this episode. Especially since this is the last time we see Walter, that kid annoys me. He's so argumentative in this episode to the point he almost comes off an entirely different character. Joey crashes and burns as the new Mr. Egghead once Stephanie's nose is accidently broken by an experiment, I mean he would have had the job in the bag if not for this mishap he was pretty entertaining. Science and comedy who wouldn't love that combination? We see Michelle make an inside out PB&J, trust me , it is that gross? Stephanie doing everything she can to avoid picture day, skipping school, guilting Joey, but lucky for her, the guys come up with a way that makes her feel less embarrassed. Danny tries to fight a traffic ticket in court with DJ as his witness since she was in the car and tells us the truth of what really happened. If you're too distracted by cleaning the dust between your radio buttons to notice you're in the wrong lane, here's a simple solution ,get off the road. Pull into a parking lot and take care of it there or better yet he could have had DJ do that for him. Problem solved, no ticket. Instead he chooses to fight it, spoiler alert: he loses and ends up paying more than he would have if he just paid the ticket. Join me next week when I cover Full House S5E13; Easy Rider, which aired on December 3, 1991. In this episode Michelle decides that she wants to learn how to ride a two-wheel bike with out training wheels. she asks her dad for help but he has to spend the day with co-star Vicky so that they can plan their week. Fri, 07 Oct 2022 - 2h 06min - 956 - Full House: S6E9: Nice Guys Finish First (In Honor of Dave Coulier's (Joey Gladstone)Birthday)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, in honor of Dave Coulier's Birthday, I covered Full House S6E9: Nice Guys Finish First, which aired on November 24, 1992. In this episode Stonewall Binkley, an old rival of Joey's, humiliates him on his and Jesse's radio program, and challenges him to an upcoming hockey game; Joey's hesitant at first but ultimately decides to have his revenge on Stonewall. This was an enjoyable episode. Joey gets a blast from the past when an old nemesis surprises on air on the Rush Hour Renegades and start ripping into him about an old college hockey game Joey lost. Talk about someone who loves to live in the past, this Brinkley guy. The rivalry is still going strong in Brinkley's eyes as he tells Joey "I look forward to humiliating you all over again at the charity hockey game. When did a charity hockey game turn into a I'm better than you contest? Couldn't stand this guy. Joey does his best to be a good sport and not let himself get riled, but Brinkley pushes him too far and then, it is on! Seeing Jesse on skates was hilarious and also him commentating on the game not knowing anything about hockey. Luckily Becky swoops in to save the day. Also we have the side mini plots of DJ learning freeway driving and Michelle afraid of the tabloid Goat Boy from Norway. Join me next month for the new Series, Joey and the Girls, when I cover Full House: S3E18: Mr. Egghead, which aired on February 16, 1990. Fri, 23 Sep 2022 - 1h 57min - 955 - Small Wonder: S2E21: Wally the Wimp
Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of She's A Small Wonder: A Small Wonder Podcast. Today, I covered S2E21: Wally the Wimp, which aired on February 28, 1987. In this episode Pro-wrestler, Jesse Ventura, is invited to the Lawson house for dinner. He has a surprise for Ted, as years before he was the nerdy little kid named Wally who Ted teased in college. I liked this episode, it was fun, especially seeing Ted get his a$$ kicked by a pro wrestler Jesse Ventura (aka Wally the Wimp). He deserved it! All the crap he pulled on Wally back in college, at least Joan was nice to him, even if she did go out on pity dates with him. Turns out Wally/Jesse is the first person I believe so far anyway that Ted has revealed Vicki's secret identity as a robot. Join me next month when I cover S2E22: The Cat's Meow, which aired on May 9, 1987. In this episode Vicki becomes jealous of an electronic cat. Have a great week everyone!
Thu, 22 Sep 2022 - 54min - 954 - Bonus Episode: Alvin And The Chipmunks: Romancing Miss Stone
Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Looking Back on My Wonder Years: A Wonder Years Podcast. Today, I covered an Alvin and the Chipmunks episode. Romancing Miss Stone. In this episode Alvin develops a crush on his teacher, he even asks her out and thankfully she turns him down telling him he's too young, not "this is illegal". Alvin's blood is boiling when he witnesses Dave ask out Miss Stone and he blackmails Simon and Theodore into sabotaging the date. Which of course fails, because the next morning Dave says he had a fantastic time (yeah, we can all guess what happened). Honestly we don't need to guess that hard. Alvin challenges Dave to an old fashioned duel (with water balloons) for the heart of Miss Stone and Dave actually accepts the challenge. Dave, why are you encouraging this? End of story, Alvin accepts defeat and falls for his babysitter. A beautiful black girl named Sandy who has no lines. WTH! Writers couldn't give her a line, at all? Overall, good episode, thankfully it didn't turn into a Mary Kay Letournau situation, winding up with Alvin a father twice over before age 14. Gross! Have a great week everyone!
Mon, 19 Sep 2022 - 41min - 953 - Full House S4E16 Stephanie Gets Framed (Back To School Double Feature PART 2)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered Full House S4E16: Stephanie Gets Framed, which aired on January 25, 1991. In this episode Steve Urkel comes to town. He helps Stephanie deal with her new glasses, but when she takes all of Joey's funny glasses and disrupts the class with them, she realizes she took it too far. Jesse is also having trouble deciding a best man for his wedding. I enjoyed this episode. Especially getting to see Steve Urkel another beloved TGiF show character interact with characters from another show. Steve comes to town not only to annoy his cousin Julie and DJ, but to give advice to Danny who's sulking around the house playing sad songs on his guitar because Jesse picked Joey to be his best man at his wedding instead of him. Steve basically tells Danny to "get over it" and "move on". Stephanie who's a new owner her first pair of eye glasses is feeling her already low self confidence sink even lower, but thanks to Steve's advice "the trick is to make them laugh with you instead of laugh at you", backfires on her, she winds up disrupting the class with Joey's many pairs of comedic goofy glasses and having to write a hundred times "I will not disrupt the class." Michelle is given DJ's hand me down piggybank and goes around the house shaking people down for coins to add to her new money collection. When she hears that familiar ice cream truck jingle she all but takes a hammer to her precious piggybank to splurge on a sweet treat. Little does Michelle know that if you pull the plug or cork out of the bottom the money should fall right out. I wouldn't think she would have had enough for anything that ice cream truck was selling. Granted these are early 90's prices, but if she has less than 50 cents, she better start digging in the freezer for the pudding or push pops. Join me next week when we celebrate Dave Coulier's birthday (Joey Gladstone)with Full House S6E9: Nice Guys Finish First, aired on November 24, 1992. Sat, 17 Sep 2022 - 2h 39min - 952 - Full House: S4E14: Working Girl (Back To School Double Feature PART 2)
Description Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered the first episode in the Back To School Double Feature Part 2 with Full House S4E14: Working Girl, which aired on January 4, 1991. In this episode DJ's grade suffer when she takes a part-time job. I really liked this episode, DJ thinks that to be cool you have to have the newest clothes this includes shoes like the brand new "Blowouts" which sound similar to Rebook Pumps with the basketball on the front that you pump to tighten the shoe. DJ takes a job at a photography studio in the mall as an assistant. I can't imagine she works more than 10 hours a week since she's 14 and in school, but either way it interferes with her school work and causes her already terrible grade in science to slip lower to failing. She just proves to DJ that you can't have a job (which she wants to prove she can be a responsible adult) and go to school at the same time. I personally would never trust a guy that runs a photo studio out of a mall, but that's just me. He gave off creepy vibes. Sat, 03 Sep 2022 - 25min - 950 - Small Wonder: S2E20: Look Into My Eyes
Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of She's A Small Wonder: A Small Wonder Podcast. Today, I covered S2E20: Look Into My Eyes, which aired on February 21, 1987. In this episode Joan's high-school friend is not what Ted expects. Thanks to this synopsis, I spend a good half of this episode confused because what I'm seeing in this episode has nothing to do with the synopsis. IMDB has never steered me wrong, until now. This episode is actually about Vicki taking what she has seen on TV (a hypnotist) and applying it to real life. This episode, I've got to say is one of the funniest episodes of this show I have ever covered since starting this podcast. We see the actors (The Lawson Family) acting outside of how their characters would normally act (thanks to Vicki impersonating Mr. Renaldo (the hypnotist) or whatever the guy's name was). We also seen the return of Mrs. Fernwald (this won't be the last time we see her either). She's come to check in with Vicki and to see how she's adjusting after being with the Lawson's for a year. Also she tells them they're being awarded for being to adoptive family or the year or something, so she invites a name to video the Lawson's receiving the award. Thanks to Vicki turning everyone into someone they're not, Ted becomes a monkey, Joan a woman of the night (vamp), Jamie a baby and Mrs. Fernwald a woman who dances the tango. Even the old man with the videotape, Vicki turns him into a dog. Hysterical episode! Join me next month when I cover S2E21: Wally The Wimp, which aired on February 28, 1987. In this episode Pro-wrestler, Jesse Ventura, is invited to the Lawson house for dinner. He has a surprise for Ted, as years before he was the nerdy little kid named Wally who Ted teased in college. Have a great September everyone!
Wed, 31 Aug 2022 - 56min - 949 - The Wonder Years: S1E19: Love & War
Happy Wonder Wednesday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Looking Back On My Wonder Years: A Wonder Years Podcast. Today, I covered The Wonder Years S1E19: Love & War, which aired on April 13, 2022. In this episode when Bruce returns home from Vietnam, the family is shocked to find out he is dating, and eager to share his life with, an older woman with a son; when they learn more about Bruce's last deployment, they come together to support him. I enjoyed this episode, seeing Bruce again and getting to know him a little more and of course the cherry on the sundae, that ending that connects both shows bringing it full circle. At the end of this episode I do a comparison between Bruce and Tammy from the new Wonder Years and Wayne and Bonnie from the OG Wonder Years. Both guys young and in love and moving way to fast. Granted Bruce's reasoning to propose and move in with Tammy came from a place of wanting to do the things that Brian Copper wouldn't have a chance to do like get married and have kids. Bruce decides to continue to date Tammy and be a role model for her son Joey. Wayne on the other hand, wanted to feel needed and thought what he did for Bonnie was love, Sadly, it was one sided. She, I believe, in my opinion used Wayne to make her ex-husband jealous and in the end got back together with him. Join me next month when I cover S1E20: Bill's New Gig, which aired on April 20, 2022. In this episode Bill is excited to have made tenure at the university, only to find that his focus on career and family has cost him a spot in his band; Bruce adjusts to living at home. Wed, 31 Aug 2022 - 2h 44min - 948 - Bonus Episode: Free Willy 3: The Rescue (1997) Movie Review
Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Looking Back On My Wonder Years: A Wonder Years Podcast. Today, I covered the final Free Willy Movie in the trilogy, Free Willy 3: The Rescue. My least favorite of the three movies. I make this fact know throughout this review. IMO this movie did NOT have to be made. MOVIE SYNOPSIS: 16-year-old Jesse and old friend Randolph try to foil an illegal whaler threatening Willy and his pregnant mate. Couldn't stand Max, the 10 year old stand in for Elvis, Jesse's half brother. He was annoying, so much so I wish we had gotten Elvis back. Maybe he improved in the two years since Free Willy 2. Who am I kidding? I highly doubt that. Drew(Randolph's boss?) I'm guessing is a stand in for Ray from the first movie. She makes it clear she can't stand Jesse (maybe cause he's 16) or she's just thinks this kid's a know-it-all even though he hasn't went to college and doesn't have a degree in marine biology. I feel we spend too much time on Max and his Dad (the whaler/enemy of the movie)I don't really care about their relationship. Not enough time spent with Willy and his girlfriend/mate/soon to be wife/SPOILIER Baby Mama. Jesse's harmonica call to Willy VS. Max's squeaky finger rubbing on the side of a boat call to Willy. HANDS DOWN: Jesse's harmonica call for the WIN! I found it hard to believe that Willy formed a bond with Max at all, what just because he has issues with his Dad. First hero worship because he thinks his Dad hunts salmon when in reality he hunts killer whales and sells the meat to international black market, Norway, Japan and Sweden. Max makes it his mission to turn his Dad into a lover of fish instead of a fisher killer. Will he succeed? Listen to find out, or if you've seen the movie, you already know. Have a great week everyone! I hope you enjoy the review at least to some degree!
Sun, 28 Aug 2022 - 1h 36min - 947 - Full House: S7E8: Another Opening, Another No Show (In Honor of John Stamos's Birthday)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today in honor of John Stamos's (Uncle Jesse) Birthday, I decided to cover Full House: S7E8: Another Opening, Another No Show, which aired on November 3, 1993. In this episode The Smash Club is about to open, but everything that can go wrong does: Joey books the wrong band, Kimmy gives her waitress uniform a "creative" touch, and no one can find the owner, Jesse. Note to Everyone: Don't do what Jesse does in this episode and by that I mean don't wait till the day of opening a new business and still be working out the kinks, for example, the entertainment (granted that mistake is on Joey's part) because he changed the band without Jesse knowing until last minute. He had an expresso machine that barely worked and expected Danny to be able to fix it even though the instructions were only in Italian. Jesse just comes off as a jerk to everyone, yelling at them because he waited to the last minute before making sure everything was ready to go. He screams at Stephanie and Michelle to get off the stage (which they shouldn't have been up there messing with anything to begin with) and then he's trashing on Kimmy's uniform because she had added color designs to a basic black vest. I don't know any jobs that want you making alterations or adornments of any kind to their uniforms since you're representing the face of their company or brand. Jesse and Kimmy get locked in the storeroom and she gives him an earful and he comes to the realization that he's being too hard on everyone. I mean if it were me that he was yelling at I would have left. He should have made sure a week ago that the club was ready to even open. Overall good episode! Danny overloaded on caffeine, hilarious! REM (not that R.E.M) was pretty rockin! Join me next month September, when I kick off the Back to School Double Feature PART 2 with Full House S4E14: Working Girl, which aired on January 4, 1991. In this episode DJ's grades suffer when she takes a part-time job. Have a great weekend everyone! I hope you enjoy the episode ! To EMAIL The Podcast GO TO: omhcfhfhpodcast@gmail.com
Fri, 19 Aug 2022 - 1h 55min - 946 - Full House: S5E14: Sisters in Crime (SISTERS Double Feature PART 2)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I conclude the SISTERS Double Feature PART 2 with Full House S5E14: Sisters in Crime, which aired on December 17, 1991. In this episode While the guys are at a hockey game, DJ is in charge, but when a hunky guy comes over and asks DJ to the movies, she agrees. Then she realizes that she has to take the girls. At the movies Stephanie spends all of her money at the concession stand, leaving DJ with no money for the tickets. So she asks Kimmy to sneak them in (Kimmy works there). The manager of the movie theater catches them and DJ has to cut the date short. Then she has to teach her sisters to lie so that she doesn't get caught. I really enjoyed this episode. Now, this Steve 1.0 we get(Scott Weinger's first appearance as Steve, only it's Steve Peters not Steve Hale, that comes in Season 6), I was not a fan of this version of Steve he just comes off as unlikeable, nothing like the heart of gold version we all know and love from Season 6-7 and Fuller House Season 1-5). It's interesting watching this episode this time around now that I work at a movie theater. I should have tried to figure how much money was spent on concessions by Stephanie and Michelle in 1991 vs. 2022. I'd say probably over $50 was spent on popcorn, drinks and snacks by 2022 costs. By 1991 costs, I'd say maybe $20 give or take and that's not including the tickets. Becky's Aunt Ida is getting spoiled by seeing the twins twice in two back to back episodes. That's probably twice more than Becky or Jesse parents. I bet anything you know Ida is bragging to Becky's mom about that. I mean this is the same woman who bought Becky the book, Wise Women, Foolish Choices (as a wedding gift). It's clear that none of Becky's family likes Jesse at all, even her cousin in Season 6 says (we all expected Rebecca to do better). I wish we could have see the charity hockey game with Danny, Joey and Jesse that would have been fun to watch. I mean Jesse constantly falling down because he can't skate (we see this in Season 6 Nice Guys Finish First), now seeing Danny on his hands and knees cleaning the slush around the goal crease since he's the goalie as pucks just slide past him into the net, I would have laughed at that. DJ got on my nerves with how selfish she was, doing whatever she had to do in order to go on her date with Steve, including pulling Stephanie away from her homework and taking a sick kid out of the house (to a movie theater no less, so many people especially kids to catch her cold). Then she has them lie on top of it so she won't get in trouble. Join me next week when we celebrate John Stamos's birthday with Full House S7E8: Another Opening, Another No Show, which aired on November 2, 1993. In this episode The Smash Club is about to open, but everything that can go wrong does: Joey books the wrong band, Kimmy gives her waitress uniform a "creative" touch, and no one can find the owner, Jesse. Sat, 13 Aug 2022 - 2h 30min - 945 - Full House: S4E21: The Hole-in-the-Wall Gang (SISTERS Double Feature PART 2)
Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered the first episode in the SISTERS Double Feature PART 2 for August, Full House S4E21: The Hole-in-the-Wall Gang, which aired on March 1, 1991. In this episode Jesse and Joey set about renovating the attic into a loft for newlyweds Jesse and Becky. DJ and Stephanie argue after Stephanie starts dressing like DJ because she wants to be just like her big sister, which leads to a hole in the wall in Danny's room. How did the hole get there, you ask? Well, you'll just have to listen to find out. I liked this episode. My older sister and I have about the same age difference as DJ and Steph do. The difference, there are a couple. We never shared a room and I never wore my sister's clothes (that I know of) growing up. The fix up the attic into a loft apartment plot with Jesse and Joey was goofy. Whether Joey is good with tools, we may never know because Jesse never gave Joey or us the chance to find out. We do know Joey is good at fixing a sandwich, We see the results. Join me next week when I cover the next episode in the SISTERS Double Feature PART 2, Full House S5E14: Sisters in Crime, which aired on December 17, 1991. In this episode While the guys are at a hockey game, DJ is in charge, but when a hunky guy comes over and asks DJ to the movies, she agrees. Then she realizes that she has to take the girls. Sat, 06 Aug 2022 - 2h 12min - 944 - Fuller House: S4E8: Driving Mr. Jackson (In Honor of Michael Campion's (Jackson Fuller) Birthday)
Happy Fuller House Friday, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, in honor of Michael Campion's (Jackson Fuller) Birthday, I covered Fuller House S4E8: Driving Mr. Jackson, which aired on December 14, 2018. In this episode Jackson and Ramona's first high school party has major consequences, when Jackson got drunk. Becky and Jesse team up to host an awards show, where a big win goes to Matt's head. I enjoyed this episode, but honestly could have done with Gia as well as that adulterous woman from the Mommy and Me class that was constantly hitting on Jesse to the point of getting a little too handsy with him. We really didn't need the Jesse and Becky sideplot IMO because it took away from what could have been a better episode with Jackson facing the consequences from DJ due to his drinking at a party. The talk could have been better like Jesse and DJ in Full House Season 3 Just Say No Way better. Granted it wasn't horrible but, more time could have been spent on it, is all I'm saying. Join me in August when I cover The SISITERS Double Feature PART 2, with Full House S4E21: The Hole-in-the-Wall Gang, which aired on March 1, 1991. In this episode Jesse and Joey set about renovating the attic into a loft for newlyweds Jesse and Becky. DJ and Stephanie argue. Have a great weekend everyone! Sat, 30 Jul 2022 - 2h 04min - 943 - The Wonder Years: S1E18: Goose Grease
Happy Wonder Wednesday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Looking Back On My Wonder Years: A Wonder Years Podcast. Today, I covered The Wonder Years S1E18: Goose Grease, which aired on April 6, 2022. In this episode when Dean comes down with chickenpox on his way to a hunting trip with Bill and Grandaddy Clisby, Lillian forces the three of them to quarantine together; Clisby pushes homemade remedies on them out of his mistrust of doctors. Going into this episode, my expectations were low, thinking it was just going to be a "meh" episode, but it surprised me by bringing up a topic I had only just learned more about. The rest of the episode was good and funny and heartwarming to and leaves on a cliffhanger. Here's The Trivia for this episode that goes into more detail about what Grandaddy Clisby was referring to when he mentioned Bill's cousin who was enduring some medical experiment in Tuskegee. When Granddaddy Clisby (Richard Gant) expresses his mistrust of doctors, one of the reasons he gives is: "you remember your cousin Darnell? Well, he's being treated by some doctors over at Tuskegee in some special studies. But I'm telling you: the man is only getting worse!" This is a reference to what was originally called the "Tuskegee Study of Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male" and is now referred to as the "U.S. Public Health Service Syphilis Study at Tuskegee." Lasting from 1932 to 1972, the so-called "study" observed hundreds of Black men both with and without syphilis, always withholding syphilis treatment from them (even after syphilis became completely curable with penicillin) and in come cases never even informing them that they had a communicable disease. Not only did many of the men die avoidable deaths due to advanced, untreated syphilis, in many cases they also inadvertently infected their wives and in-utero children. The "study" is now considered one of the most notorious ethical travesties in the history of American medicine, and it is the basis for many African Americans' mistrust of the medical establishment into the present day (many articles in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic brought up the difficulties that the lingering fear and mistrust fomented by the "study" still posed to public health educators trying to reach Black communities). This show is set in Montgomery, which is only about 40 miles west of Tuskegee, Alabama.; showrunner Saladin K. Patterson spent some of his childhood in Tuskegee. Join me next month when I cover S1E19: Love & War, which aired on April 13, 2022. In this episode when Bruce returns home from Vietnam, the family is shocked to find out he is dating, and eager to share his life with, an older woman with a son; when they learn more about Bruce's last deployment, they come together to support him. Have a great rest of July everyone and I'll be back in August. To EMAIL The PODCAST GO TO: lbomwonderyearspodcast@gmail.com
Wed, 27 Jul 2022 - 2h 04min - 942 - Bonus Episode: Free Willy 2: The Adventure Home (1995) Movie Review
Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Looking Back On My Wonder Years: A Wonder Years Podcast. Today, I covered the sequel to 1993's Free Willy, 1995's Free Willy 2: The Adventure Home. Movie Synopsis: Teenager Jesse becomes reunited with Willy two years after the whale's jump to freedom as the teenager tries to rescue the killer whale and other orcas from an oil spill. Overall all having watching this movie again after originally seeing it in the theaters back when I was 13 in 1995 and watching it repeatedly when I owned it on VHS, which I got for Christmas that year. I'd say that it definitely holds up, in my mind anyway. Two years after Willy is set free, Jesse has now become acclimated to living with his adoptive parents the Greenwoods. One adorable happy family. Jesse sure has changed and not just his height either. He is beyond girl crazy. And it's a little much this time around to the point where it comes off creepy. Let me give you an example of just how creepy. He meets up with Randolph on his vacation and notices he has a cute assistant, his goddaughter Nadine. I don't know what Jesse's deal is with binoculars and girls but he and Nadine on the ship looking for whales out in the water, he's standing right next to her and turns his binoculars right on her and she's literally standing two feet away from him. 13 year old me loved it of course, because I had such a crush on him at the time. There's a new addition to the cast and Jesse's life when he gets the sad news his mother has passed away, but she left beyond his 8 year old half brother, Elvis. Hmm, Jesse and Elvis. I take it their mom was an Elvis Presley fan. I mean, come on, you don't name your kid Elvis if you don't like Elvis Presley, right? This kid is annoying from the word go, it's like he's trying to be Jesse from the first movie and failing. Count how many times this kid says "Whatever", I think I lost count around 6 or 8. I also realized this kid is like 12 years old playing 8. Now way does he look like an 8 year old. He's also like 6 months younger than me. The movie keeps upping the stakes, from the oil spill, to health problems with one Willy's family members due to the oil spill, a fake rescue/rehabilitation/capture, the oil on fire, kids trapped on small boat in fiery oil water. This is a great sequel to the first, I feel. As far as the third one goes, Free Willy 3: The Rescue, it's a dumpster fire that needed to not exist. But I will cover it next month just not in full detail, more like a brief overview. It will definitely NOT be a three hours long podcast. I wouldn't do that to myself or you all. I hope you all have fun with this one and have a great week.
