A hymn using my 'zouk.

I wrote this tune while trying to put off shoveling the walk and driveway. Maggie came in and said,"Happy Burns' Day." When I realised what day it was, I used that for the title of my song even though it sounds more Irish than Scottish to me. This version is from the late Zeke Mazurek's last solo album. It features Zeke on fiddle, me on mandolin, Randall (Rockin' Randy) Kempf on bass and Tom T. Taylor on guitar.

This is a fine tune by Simon Mayor. I'm giving the newest Isola A5 mandolin a "test drive" in my shop. I'm taking this A5 on my UK holiday.

This is a sort of modern semi-rock interpretation of this very nice traditional old Irish dorian tune. I play this together with my friend in our project "Beards'n'Hats" and it is only the two of us. We like to call this a "bearded" interpretation of this tune. I play mandolin, guitar, bouzouki and banjo on this. my friend plays drums, bass and guitar as well as some bouzouki. we pretty much take turns between each take.. :)

I play this on my 12-string Levin mandolin from 1945... Hmm.. yeah.. I am not very used to play the 12 stringed yet, so that's why it is a bit slow. The strings are a bit closer to each other than on the eight stringed.

My take on the Irish Reel "The Maid Behind the Bar" played on solo mandolin. I first learned this tune on fiddle, then just now relearned it for Mandolin.

This lovely waltz was composed by Robin Dransfield, I'm not sure when. It was included on Barry Dransfield's 1984 album Bowin' and Scrapin', which is available on itunes I believe. The tune is also currently available on a CD by the group Queen's Gambit on CDbaby. Notation and MIDI are available on thesession.org and on volume 7 of the Lewes Favorite tune list. I'm playing my late 1930s Kay Kraft.
