The Writer and Director of Joyland Saim Saadiq joins Mooroo and Daniyal Raheal for a conversation on Film-making and screenplay writing.

Saim Sadiq is a Pakistani screenwriter and director who won the Jury Prize of the Un Certain Regard section at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival for directing the drama film Joyland, the first Pakistani film to be selected in Cannes. Joyland also won the Queer Palm award during its world premiere at Cannes. Sadiq grew up in what he describes as a "middle-class, conservative family" in Rawalpindi. He attended St Mary's Academy in Lalazar, Rawalpindi. He graduated with a BSc with honors in anthropology from the Lahore University of Management Sciences in 2014. He obtained his MFA in Screenwriting and Directing from the Columbia University School of the Arts in 2019.

He is back again, Mian urf Muhammad Khan, Head of Digital Transformation at an MNC, Fulbright Scholar, Acumen Fellow, Chuddy Buddy. Interests: Technology, Digital, Politics, Startups, Will be coming back for more.

A data engineer from Pakistan named Shafiqa Iqbal works for Google in Poland. She has had positions with some of the most well-known businesses, including LinkedIn. She also worked as a top seller at Upwork while serving as Pakistan’s Global Ambassador for Women in Technology. Out of 1300 workers, she is the only one from Pakistan in the Google office in Warsaw. Shahbaz Taseer is a Pakistani businessman, and the son of the former Governor of Punjab (Pakistan) Salman Taseer. In August 2011, following his father's assassination, he was kidnapped by militants in Lahore while he was driving to his office from home. Taseer was held in captivity for around four and a half years and was recovered from Kuchlak, Balochistan on 8 March 2016. Taseer's kidnapping was referred as one of the most high-profile kidnappings in Pakistan by The Guardian. BBC's HARDtalk interviewed Taseer about his days in captivity. In an interview, he mentioned that he was held by Uzbek militants, before eventually being passed to the Taliban.

Muhammad Ali known as Ali Sadpara[1] (born February 2, 1976; missing since 5 February 2021)[2] is a Pakistani mountaineer. He was part of the team that successfully achieved the first ever winter summit on Nanga Parbat in 2016.[3] Both his teammates, Alex Txikon and Simone Moro, have gone on record stating that they could not have done it without Sadpara's brilliance. He had successfully climbed four eight-thousanders in a calendar year and a total of eight in his career.[4]

Sadpara and his 21-year-old son Sajid Sadpara, who had climbed K2 in 2019, teamed up with Icelandic mountaineer John Snorri Sigurjónsson[5] and Chilean mountaineer Juan Pablo Mohr Prieto[6] for a joint K2 ascent, leaving the highest camp on the evening of February 4, 2021. Sajid had to descend due to a technical issue, leaving the others at the Bottleneck, close to the summit. His father, Snorri, and Mohr kept climbing up, but they didn't come back by night as planned. A rescue mission with two army helicopters was organized on February 6. The three climbers are still missing.[7]
