Today I am delighted to welcome Dr. Larry Waldman, a recently semi-retired certified school psychologist and licensed clinical, forensic psychologist from Phoenix, Arizona.     Welcome to episode 381 of Sexology Podcast! Today I am delighted to welcome Danielle Bezalel, MPH. Dainelle is a sex educator and podcaster, and in this conversation, she highlights the importance of medically accurate sex education, the challenges and rewards of teaching sex ed to different age groups, addressing myths and misinformation, and the role of consent and pleasure in education.  

     

    Danielle Bezalel wears many hats as the brains behind the Sex Ed with DB Podcast. This intersectional, feminist podcast is a platform where Bay Area voices share their real stories, aiming to revolutionize the way we discuss sex.  

     

    In 2014, she proudly graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Film and Media Studies. Later, she pursued her Masters of Public Health from Columbia University, specializing in sexuality and reproductive health, which she successfully completed in May 2023.

    Welcome to episode 380 of Sexology Podcast! Today I am delighted to welcome Lauren Streicher, MD an expert in women's health and menopause. In this episode we discuss the common changes women face during perimenopause and menopause, including genital urinary syndrome of menopause (GSM), painful intercourse, diminished libido, and hot flashes.  

     

    Dr. Streicher emphasizes that while menopause brings various challenges, effective solutions exist for each symptom. She highlights the importance of hormone therapy (HT) for relieving symptoms and improving quality of life, as well as the use of lubricants, vaginal estrogens, and other medical interventions for managing painful intercourse. 

     

    Lauren Streicher, MD, is a clinical professor at Northwestern University and founding Medical Director of the Northwestern Medicine Center for Sexual Medicine and Menopause, she also serves as a menopause practitioner and Senior Research Fellow at the Kinsey Institute. Besides her roles in academia and research, she advises organizations like The Kinsey Institute and Midi Health, focusing on patient education.  

     

    A best-selling author, Dr. Streicher, has written extensively on women's health, including menopause guides and sexual health books. Her latest work, set for a 2024 release, continues her focus on post-menopausal sexual wellness. Streicher also hosts a podcast on menopause and writes for various publications, contributing her expertise to a wide audience.
