In this episode I met up with Samantha, my friend from UNC, in Pamplona! She was studying abroad in the UK and did a two week solo trip across Europe during her Spring break and was able to stop by for a visit! This episode mostly covers the topic of solo travel which Samantha became an expert on with several trips during her time abroad.

This episode was a long time coming (we recorded it nearly 11 months ago). It has been a real busy 11 months but I finally got around to finishing the episode, so enjoy!

This episode is about the incredible value of international experiences. I talk about this with Ron Koppers, a Dutch student who was on exchange in Fall 2018 at my university. Ron studied in North Carolina but has also participated in several global programs across the world with his university, Rotterdam School of Management. I visited Ron's home in Breda, NL during Carnival so we also discuss the unique way his hometown celebrates this festival.

I’m so excited to share this episode because it is what studying abroad is all about: new friends, unique experiences and exciting places! Mason Schlechte from Texas and I talk about our time at Tamborrada de Donostia, a festival in San Sebastián, Spain which involves drumming, dancing, singing, delicious food and tasty wine.

In this episode, I sit down with Melanie Nogueira from London, England. Her and I discuss how to choose the study abroad program best for you. There are a few important things to consider. Your options may be limited, but it is likely that you will have to make some decisions when choosing a program. This episode will help you make those decisions.

This week you get to meet the man who owns the awesome VW van, Sebastian Götz from Germany. He also is behind the camera in a lot of the photographs used to support the episodes. The point is he’s an important dude. Sebastian and I talk about our ski trip to the Pyrenees at Saint Lary-Soulan, France.

This week, I sit down with Matt Dorrell, my classmate and friend from Luxembourg. We talk about learning a new language to travel or study abroad. Matt knows six languages so he has plenty of experience in this area.

Personally, the most intimidating part of my study abroad was speaking Spanish in Spain. With tips, advice and encouragement from Matt and I, you should all feel inspired to learn or improve a new language and put it to use in a new place!

In the first full episode, I kick things off by sitting down with Adam, an exchange student from Germany. We talk about our trip to Las Bardenas Reales de Navarra, a beautiful canyon in Northern Spain. We also discuss a Spanish barbecue and how it differed from a barbecue in the U.S. and Germany.
