Are there still soldiers spirits out there, unaware that the war has ended. Are the ghosts of WWII seen by the living today simply a residual replay of this horrific time in human history? Who are the ghosts of WWII and what do they want? Are they still fighting a battle, or do the ghosts of WWII have a message for the living? We discuss this with author Matthew L. Swayne.

Mon, 10 Dec 2018 - 50 - The Devils Board Part One | The Grave Talks Podcast
During the school year of 1987-1988 shocking, paranormal events took over a dorm and parts of an American college campus. These events would later be chronicled in the book, The Devils Board. Many of these events were blamed on an infatuation that one student had with what many thought of as a harmless board game: The Ouija Board. Spirits were summoned almost daily, and one would continue to stand out and let his name and story be known. Mon, 26 Nov 2018 - 48 - The Rockford Haunting Part 1 | The Grave Talks Podcast
Strange noises, shadow people and being physically attacked are not things anyone seeks out in a new home. In the winter of 2012, Hunter and Jenny Scott found all this and more in there new country home just outside of Rockford, Alabama. They thought they had found the perfect fixer-upper. What they really stumbled into was an experience that would later be titled The Rockford Haunting. The murderous story and connections experienced by this family were so unique that many years earlier, the famous author Harper Lee began penning a now infamous unpublished work on it. What dark past did this home hide? What did the spirits of the deceased want? Mon, 19 Nov 2018 - 47 - The Exorcism of Cindy Sauer Part 1 | The Grave Talks Podcast
Cindy Sauer Appeared to be enjoying a good life. She was married to a loving husband and was a mother to 3 girls. A far cry from the title of the book that would depict the following years of her life, The Exorcism of Cindy Sauer. Then things suddenly took a turn for the worst. in 2009 her husband took his own life very unexpectedly. She was overcome with grief and as many would fall into a depression. It was at this time that unexplained events began occurring around her home. She's very quickly concluded that these may be paranormal in nature, possibly even her deceased husband attempting to leave a message. This assumption very quickly changed as things went from paranormal to sinister and possibly demonic. She suffered horrific nightmares, terrifying images presented night after night depicting unspeakable atrocities. And then the hunting went from an external battle to an internal war that would require an exorcism. The Exorcism of Cindy Sauer, was one that did not end in one cleansing. The internal battle would continue for a time to come and would it never permanently go away. On today’s episode of The Grave Talks, we hear the personal story of The Exorcism of Cindy Sauer.

Mon, 29 Oct 2018 - 44 - Haunted House of Wills Part 1 | The Grave Talks Podcast
Sometimes a building just speaks to you. Something about it comes alive and reaches out to grab your imagination and focus. For me, the haunted House of Wills is one of those places. The haunting images of its decaying insides line many websites of both paranormal investigators and urban explorers. For many years it was left to rot, in this time many investigators and adventure seekers discovered something not so welcoming behind its doors. With a storied history that leads back to the turn of the century, what is now known as the Haunted House of Wills was once a Greman social club, speakeasy, hospital and in its last incarnation for many years, a funeral home. Rumors of murders, mafia involvement and unsavory business practices plagued many of owners while it was in operation. We discussed the chaos it caused in his personal life and the mental strain it took on him and his girlfriend. His story was featured on an episode of Ghost Adventures, however, very little evidence was found by the Ghost Adventures crew, resulting in many calling Keith and his Girlfriend a fraud. Darkness Lives in The Bothell Hell House. I’ve talks to countless individuals, families, and investigators about their haunting encounters and quite honestly, the story of The Bothell Hell House is one of the most terrifying I’ve ever heard. I can’t recall a case where so many dark and seemingly demonic signs and actions were taken against the living with such force and hate. This is truly a stunning case about pure evil and its desire to wreak havoc on the lives of the living. The Western State Lunatic Asylum has been the topic of paranormal rumors and legends for decades. What are the menacing forces that live behind its walls. For over one hundred and twenty years the Western Lunatic Asylum has been the site of medical experiments and has seen medicine and care turn from archaic to modern. The mad, the violent, and the disenfranchised of Western Kentucky were all once housed together inside its dark medical wards. Many became victims of garish experiments and arcane medical practices of another time. We discuss the stories of discarded orphans, the feeble-minded and the criminally insane living together in this man-made purgatory. Mon, 01 Oct 2018 - 40 - Haunted Big Sur Lighthouse - Part 1 | The Grave Talks Podcast
Originally commissioned in 1889, the Big Sur Lighthouse has been a beacon for those coming off the ocean in peace, and a final sign of life, as many lives were swept up by the ocean as their ships went down. Not only has what is now known as the Haunted Big Sur Lighthouse been a structure by the sea, it has been home to many families employed to watch the building and to keep its lights shining bright. Many of the families who called the haunted Big Sur Lighthouse home lasted less than one year before calling it quits. Maybe it was the isolation of living in such tight quarters that drove them out. It could have been the constant anxiety that they felt, watching ships come in and many... Go down. Either way, emotions ran high in the Big Sur Lighthouse for many generations. Does the energy that these families felt still echo through the halls of Big Sur, or do their spirits intelligently run the lighthouse from the other side? It is questions like these that we have answered in today's episode of The Grave Talks as we talk with Julie Nunes about the ghosts of Big Sur. Part 1: Haunted Wisconsin And Its Spirits. Maybe it's just the circle of people I grew up around. Maybe its just the physical location and everyone having common paranormal experiences. Whatever it is, talk of "ghosts" around Wisconsin is a common thing. It's not as taboo a topic as it feels in other areas of the country. As a child, I would regularly check out books from the local library about haunted Wisconsin and would ask teachers, friends or anyone who would listen about their ghostly experiences. Haunted Kentucky State Penitentiary
Oftentimes the institutions or former prisons that we discuss on The Grave Talks are long forgotten relics that no longer house the living. The Kentucky State Penitentiary breaks this mold. Today, the behemoth is known as the castle on the Cumberland still houses hundreds of inmates and staff working to keep the worst of society behind its walls. Quite a feat for a structure completed in 1886 and still running today. The Haunted Kentucky State Penitentiary is still home to Kentucky's death row inmates and houses the execution facility.

These days if a building is still standing past the age of 30, it almost inevitably has a ghost story attached to it. If a building has been standing for nearly 200 years, it likely holds hundreds of ghost stories. Add to that the fact that it was built on a burial ground and imprisoned those deserving and not through one of the darkest periods of American history. You then have a structure almost glowing with the paranormal. That building is the Haunted Old Charleston Jail.

A house that speaks to you When Mark Spencer and his family moved into the beautiful old Allen House in Monticello, Arkansas, they were aware of its notorious reputation for being haunted. According to local lore, the troubled spirit of society belle Ladell Allen, who had mysteriously committed suicide in the master bedroom in 1948, still roamed the grand historic mansion known as the Allen House. Just some old ghost stories... Yet, Mark remained skeptical about the ghosts of the Allen House — until he and his family began encountering faceless phantoms, a doppelganger spirit, and other paranormal phenomena. Ensuing ghost investigations offered convincing evidence that six spirits, including Ladell, inhabited their home. Lost love letters lead to death at the Allen House But the most shocking event occurred the day Mark followed a strange urge to explore the attic of the Allen House and found, crammed under a floorboard, secret love letters that touchingly depict Ladell Allen’s forbidden, heart-searing romance—and shed light on her tragic end. The Historic Farnsworth House Inn is named in honor of Brigadier General Elon John Farnsworth, who led an ill-fated charge after the failure of Pickett's charge, claiming the lives of Farnsworth and 65 of his men. A long and violent history. The original part of the house was built in 1810, followed by the brick structure in 1833\. The house sheltered Confederate sharpshooters during the three-day conflict, one of whom it is believed to have accidentally shot 20 year-old Mary Virginia "Jennie" Wade, the only civilian who died during the battle. More than 100 bullet holes pock the walls. Following the battle, the house served as a hospital. The Lincoln procession passed the Farnsworth House on November 19, 1863, on the way to the National Cemetery where he delivered the famous Gettysburg Address. Harvey Sweney, the owner of the house during the battle, composed a letter to his brother, penning the most insightful and powerful account ever written on the subject. Today, the Bed & Breakfast guests enjoy lovely Victorian rooms and at times... Ghosts Today we discuss the ghosts of The Historic Farnsworth House Inn. Get more at http://www.thegravetalks.com

Mackinac Island to me is one of the most intriguing places I've ever visited. Even as a child, something drew me to the island and called me back time and time again. I wouldn't say it was paranormal, but there was something about it that I couldn't put my finger on. Located between the upper and lower peninsula of Michigan, Mackinac Island is a tourist hot spot in the summer seasons. In winter, it could very well be the setting for a horror movie like the shining as the population drops off to locals only, with the only way to access the island being a once daily ice-breaking fairy or helicopter. The massive resorts such as the grand hotel sit empty, with only the maintenance and caretakers roaming the halls... Or could there be others still on the island... not so living people... still walking the halls of these historic resorts and homesteads. On today's episode of The Grave Talks, we hear several ghost stories, yet just touch the surface of one of the most haunted islands in the world. The Ghosts of Mackinac Island.
