Catch my Killer

At any given time in the world, there are thousands of unsolved murders. Most of them will never be solved. The first 48 hours of a homicide are the most crucial to an investigation. Eventually, leads dry up, witnesses become less cooperative, and cases go cold (unsolved). Meanwhile, detectives continue receiving new homicide cases which push older ones to the back. After a case goes cold, it quickly becomes yesterday’s news. The public and the media will forget about the crime and move onto the next crime story.
But do you know who won’t forget about a cold case? The victim’s family and friends. They won’t forget because their case is more than a case file or news story. The victims were sons, fathers, mothers, daughters, or friends. Catch my Killer is a podcast that focuses on the victim's surviving family and friends who give a voice to those who no longer have one. If you are listening and can help bring a killer to justice, please call in your tips. Even the smallest clue could be large enough to break a case wide open.

- 192 - Episode 192: VonMason Walker (Part 1 of 2)
This week’s story involves the shooting death of a Columbus, Ohio man named VonMason Walker. On October 16, 2015 he was visiting the home of acquaintences. Before the night was over, he would be dead. VonMason Walker was born on December 24, 1990 in Columbus, OH. His parents are Willie Walker and Jennifer Gillman. He had graduated from high school in Muncie Indiana and had received his CDL so that he could become a truck driver. He was found dead in the home of an acquaintance on October 16, 2015.
His father Willie Walker described his relationship with son as close. Willie had become VonMason’s primary caretaker when he was a child. Willie considered his son a good man who was motivated to make his own way. He eventually become a security guard. But after some time on the job, VonMason followed in his father’s footsteps and became a truck driver.
Willie felt that his son had made a great career choice and was on his way to getting set for life. Unfortunately, Willie’s life changed forever when he learned that his beloved son had died from a gunshot wound on October 16, 2015. According to Willie, he was told that VonMason was dancing around with a gun and tripped over a toy and accidentally killed himself.
Willie said this was a deduction made from the Columbus police department because no one in the house corroborated this story. Willie found the explanation ludicrous. He would hire a private investigator who looked into the matter further. Based on the investigator’s findings, VonMason’s death was no accident.
Willie has spent the past several years trying to get the Columbus Police Department to change VonMason’s death from accidental shooting to a homicide. He has been unsuccessful. Willie shared VonMason’s story with me hoping that someone will listen to his pleas for help in getting to the truth of what really happened to his beloved son.
What truly happened to VonMason? Was the shooting accidental or did someone kill him and get away with murder? Willie Walker doesn’t believe the Columbus Police Department will do anything with any tips they might receive. If you have a valuable tip, please contact Willie Walker directly at (614) - 441-6911. He would like to screen out tips and then discuss them with law enforcement personally.

William Balfour Sr. was a retired grandfather. The Muncie, Indiana resident enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. According to his daughters Lashea and Consuela, William was definitely the family patriarch. Lashea, William's youngest daughter spoke to him daily, cooked meals for him and did everything she could to make his life comfortable.
Before 11 p.m. on July 1, 2019, Lashea Facetimed her father. He then changed into his pajamas before getting ready for bed. Unfortunately, he wouldn’t be getting any rest that evening. Consuela said a female friend named had shown up at the house and requested a ride home.
William got out of bed and left with this friend. Family members said the trip to her home shouldn't have taken long. William had given her rides home in the past, so the request wasn't suspicious.
A few hours later, Lashea's son became concerned when his grandfather had not returned home. He had to call the friend because his grandfather had left his phone at home. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to speak to the friend because she didn’t answer her phone. The next morning, the family discovered that William's 2001 Lincoln had been cordoned off by law enforcement. His vehicle had become a crime scene. William, still in his pajamas, was discovered outside his vehicle at Blaine and Centennial. Someone had beaten the elderly grandfather to death. His skull was bashed in and his teeth were knocked out. The beating was violent and fatal.
Family members were stunned by his death. William's family couldn't understand why anyone would want to kill the elderly man. The family also noticed that the family friends wasn’t at the crime scene. Consuela got into her vehicle and searched for the friend. She found the friend walking down along a road. Consuela picked her up and drover her to the Muncie police station. According to Consuela and Lashea, law enforcement let the friend leave without charges.
Consuela began investigating her father's death. She spoke with a witness who lived with the friend. According to him, she came home upset. She allegedly had blood on her clothing and defecated on herself. According to the witness, the friend said she had just murdered someone. She then recanted her statement and said she was kidding. After cleaning herself up, he said she left in a hurry. When she made the statement, he hadn’t known William was deceased. He presented Consuela with an article of bloody clothing belonging to the friend. Law enforcement refused to accept the evidence because they weren't the ones who seized it. I had asked the sisters why law enforcement didn’t arrest her father’s friend. Both said she claimed that she didn't know anything.
Four years have passed since someone brutally beat William Balfour Sr. to death. Family members believe the friend knows much more about William's death than she's ever revealed. This is the conclusion of a two-part story. If you haven't listened to the first half, please go back and listen. Who killed William Balfour Sr. on July 2, 2019? Someone out there knows. The family is pleading for your help. If you have a valuable tip, you can contact Muncie Crime Stoppers at 765-286-4050.

Interesting enough, Stringbean was also a decent semi pro baseball player. His baseball playing skills became known to Bill Monroe, who had his own semi pro club. Monroe was so impressed with Stringbean that he added Stringbean to his band. He played in Monroe’s band from 1943 until 1945.
After Stringbean left Monroe in 1945, he was replaced by another popular banjo player named Earl Scruggs, who had a different sound than Stringbean. The following year he would begin working with another banjo player named Louis Marshall Jones, affectionately known as Grandpa Jones. The two men would both be together doing comedy in the television program Hee Haw. Grandpa Jones was a WWII veteran and would become Stringbean’s closest friend. The men also became neighbors in Goodlettsville, Tennessee.
Akeman was one of the Opry's top stars throughout the 1950s. Oddly enough, he didn't begin recording on his own until the early '60s, when he signed to the Starday label. He had hits with "Chewing Gum" and "I Wonder Where Wanda Went," and recorded seven albums between 1961 and 1972.
His first album was titled Old Time Pickin' and Grinnin' with Stringbean which was released in 1961. His music was considered folk stories with a taste of comedy. At the time, Stringbean and his buddy Grandpa Jones became the two biggest old time banjo players of their era.
In 1969, a country style comedy would come to television. The program would be called Hee Haw and was on television from 1969 to 1993. The program lasted for 26 seasons and recorded 655 episodes. Any popular country musician who was anybody appeared on the show.
Unfortunately, Stringbean and his wife Estelle would be tragically murdered on November 10, 1973. After the couple returned home from a performance at the Grand Ole Opry, they walked in on a robbery by two men. Stringbean was shot to death in front of his fireplace and his wife Estelle was shot to death outside their home while trying to flee the robbers.

Cory Schroeder, also affectionately known as Stretch was a Bauxite, Arkansas man who vanished on Friday May 21st 2019, just a day short of his 45th birthday. Cory was born on May 22, 1974 in Mauston, Wisconsin. He has a younger sister named Charish Schroeder. Although Cory had a great home life, he would begin hanging out with a bad crowd. Cory then engaged in criminal behavior which led him to a prison sentence from 1995 to 2003. His sister said while in prison, Cory stayed out of trouble and never lost any privileges.
He received his commissary and was able to visit with his family without any disruptions. After leaving prison, Cory struggled with finding work since it can be difficult to find a job with a felony. But he remained positive and didn’t want to return to prison. He focused on working and spending time with his handicapped daughter. Charish said he loved his daughter and committed his life to being a supportive father.
According to Charish, Cory had asked a friend to take him to the store on May 21st, 2019. The friend said he wore a sweatshirt with a hood and a black and red backpack. This was the last time Cory was officially last seen. After Cory didn’t show up to celebrate his birthday with his family, they became concerned. They knew he would have shown up to celebrate his birthday. Charish began reaching out to Cory’s acquaintances looking for him. His disappearance was also reported to law enforcement.
Today, Charish has spent time speaking to people who knew her brother and taken to social media to try to locate her brother’s body. (Part 2 of 2) Michael Smith was a 38-year-old Little Rock, Arkansas man who was the youngest of three sons. He was also a father of four. Michael’s parents are Scherry Smith Riggins and the late Eddie Smith who died when Michael was a teenager. Michael would last be seen on June 7, 2022 at 10:15 a.m. He had just lost his job at the Whole Hog Cafe on Cantrell Rd. After leaving his job, he had visited his mother at her banking job on Rebsamen Park Road to tell her. Michael was close to his mother and kept in regular contact with her. No one has seen Michael since.
Scherry had described her son as a good son. Michael and his dad Eddie were both huge NBA fans and share a love for basketball. Eddie had worked with his son on improving his game so that he could possibly play professional basketball in the future. Michael spent much of his youth playing in high school and junior college.
Unfortunately, Michael would give up on his dream of playing professional basketball and leave college without earning a degree. His mother said he would just take a series of different jobs and focus more on financially supporting his kids and looking out for his mother. Michael’s case is controversial. According to his mother, law enforcement claims Michael was last seen riding on a bicycle and then possibly committing suicide by jumping into a river. There were witnesses who saw an unidentified man jumping into a local river.
Scherry has said she has been told by law enforcement they believe Michael has committed suicide. Sherry disputes this. She said she has seen a blown-up photo of the man on the bike. She said he was a darker-skinned man and wasn’t her son as police claim. She also said there is no confirmation that the man who allegedly jumped into the river was her son. Another source of contention between law enforcement and Michael’s family is that a neighbor told Michael’s family that she saw Michael checking his mailbox sometime between 4:20 p.m. and 4:40 p.m. on the day he disappeared. Scherry has said law enforcement has never spoken to this neighbor.
I asked Scherry if Michael had any enemies. She said that he was concerned for his life. He told his mother that if anything ever happened to him then law enforcement needed to look at someone he named. Scherry has given this name to law enforcement and doesn’t believe they have considered this person as a suspect in Michael’s disappearance. Today, Scherry and her son Cedric spend many hours looking in abandoned houses and speaking to people trying to figure out what happened to Michael.
Have you seen Michael Smith? He is described as being 5’10” and weighing around 130 lbs. His family is searching for him and believe he is deceased. They want to locate him so he can receive a proper burial and they can stop searching for him. If you know anything about Michael’s disappearance, please contact Little Rock Police Department at (501) 371-4605. There is also a reward for any information leading to Michael’s whereabouts.

This week's story is the conclusion of a two-part story involving a 29-year-old Utah man named Cornelis “Casey” Bokslag, who was born in the city of Tilburg in the Netherlands and immigrated to America in 2001 with his family. Casey’s parents are Robert and Els Schuts Bokslag. Casey was also the oldest of three children. In 2007, the family settled in Sandy, Utah.
For this story, I will refer to Cornelis as Casey, which was his nickname. Casey would adapt to American culture and the English language after arriving in the country. On June 6, 2022, he was last seen at a Wells Fargo ATM in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Casey enjoyed being outdoors and was a frequent skier. His father Robert said Casey was an active and adventurous young man who decided to find adventure in the United States Marine Corps. After he left the Marines with an honorable discharge, Casey secured a job as a ranger working at the Watershed for Salt Lake City Public Utilities. It was the agency in charge of providing drinking water. Robert last saw his son on Saturday, June 4, 2022, and everything seemed normal. He had visited his parents and had dinner with them. Robert said the visit seemed normal.
On June 5, Robert said Casey was playing an online game with one of his younger brothers. He told his brother he had to go because his rice was done. Casey also bought a gun that same day. His father didn’t seem concerned because Casey enjoyed shooting. Besides, he was a Marine Corps veteran trained in firing weapons.
According to Robert, Casey was captured on a security before noon on Monday June 6th. He left his apartment alone in South Salt Lake. He had his backpack on and was likely headed to his job for his online training scheduled for noon.
He was also seen withdrawing $100 from a Wells Fargo ATM in Salt City which was near his job. He never made it to work. After leaving the ATM machine, he has never been seen again. Robert says law enforcement checked Casey’s cell phone records. And according to phone records, his phone was last active in the area of the ATM machine.
On June 8th, Casey's boss became concerned when he didn’t show up for work. His boss contacted Robert to share his concerns. It definitely wasn’t like Casey to not show up for work. He was reliable and would never not show up for work without a good reason. After launching a massive search, law enforcement found no trace of Casey. He’s been missing for just over a year. His family is desperately trying to find him.
Casey is 6’2” tall, weighs 140 lbs., has blond hair and gray eyes, with a goatee. He typically wears long green Wrangler cargo pants, a T-shirt, military boots or sneakers, and a cap. Theresa Lynn Morris was a Phenix City, Alabama mother of four who was found deceased behind a Piggly Wiggly in Ladonia, Alabama on April 28, 1994. There wasn’t much left of her. Her head was missing and it appeared the remains were likely scattered by animals. She had been missing since April 2nd before she was found deceased. She was only 21 years old when she died, but her entire life had been troubled. According to her daughter Danica Hovey, she had her first child at 15 and was sexually abused as child.
Theresa was born in California on October 18th, 1972. Her mother parents were Diane Pulaski and William Morris. Theresa was the middle child of three. She has an older brother named Kenneth and a younger sister named Melissa who recently passed away.
Unfortunately, other than a tiny newspaper article in an Alabama newspaper article there is no information about Theresa. Theresa’s story deserves to receive as much media coverage as anyone else’s. And since her case has been mostly forgotten, it reduces the chances her killer will ever be arrested.
Theresa was the mother of four children who lost their mother when they were young. So, none of them have any memories of spending Mother’s Day with her or even celebrating birthdays, holidays or even sitting around the family dinner table having a nice dinner together. Unfortunately, someone took her life and has denied her children of creating any memories with her.
For Theresa’s story, I spoke to her daughter Danica Hovey. This is the conclusion of a two-part story. If you have any information about this unsolved homicide, please contact the Russell County Sheriff’s department in Phenix City, Alabama at 334-298-6535.

Angie Mantlo had a close relationship with Tyler Howell, 21, who was her oldest son. Tyler and his family lived in Milton, Florida. Angie said Tyler was a young man who had maintained many of his childhood friendships and he never got out of his terrible twos. She described him as rambunctious and goofy, but he had a heart of gold.
According to media reports, Tyler’s death unfolded on October 21, 2018. Tyler and his cousin went to local gas station for cigarettes late that Sunday night. They climbed into his cousin’s blue Chevy Cruz. After buying cigarettes, Tyler and his cousin returned home from the store. On their way back from the gas station the cousins were followed to Tyler’s John Hamm Road residence by several Black males driving in Silver Kia Optima.
Tyler then exited his cousin’s car and got into the Kia with the men. Afterward, one of the men left the Kia and pointed a gun at Tyler’s cousin and ordered her to get out of the car. After she left her vehicle, the unknown man drove away with her car as the Kia also drove off with Tyler inside.
Moments later, Tyler was shot to death and left alongside the road. The Kia and the Blue Chevy Cruz have both been recovered.
The Kia is owned by a man named Keyairis Hawkins, who is currently incarcerated on unrelated charges. The Chevy Cruz has also been traced to a shooting in Pensacola.
Tyler’s mother thinks it’s possible her son knew one of his killers. She thinks it’s a possibility that he may have tried to sell marijuana to the men but she doesn’t know for sure. Today, all the family has left of Tyler are his memories and a roadside memorial in his honor. Tyler was laid to rest at Hickory Hammock Church Cemetery.
For this story, I spoke to Angie Mantlo, who is Tyler’s mother. She told me the grief she feels is unbearable and the holidays and birthdays are the worst. I had read that Angie visited her son’s grave daily just to speak to him. I asked her if that was true. She said it was true and that she also drives past the site of Tyler’s homicide regularly. The Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office is hopeful they are able to uncover DNA that could lead to Tyler’s killer.
Angie Mantlo has said she hope that someone will step up and do what’s right for Tyler and break their code of silence. She knows there are several people out there who have the answers the family need to see justice for Tyler. If you have any information about this case, please contact the Santa Rosa County Crime Stoppers number at 850-437-STOP.

Sylvia Salinas, a 30-year-old woman, was born on January 7, 1959, in Galveston, Texas. As a child, she came from a family of devout Catholics and attended Mass regularly. In the late 1970’s, Sylvia became the owner of a Salinas Food store. The small store was in the same Galveston neighborhood as the one she was raised in. She was known as valued member of her community who was friendly and welcomed new customers to her store.
On October 31, 1989, Sylvia Salinas was working at her grocery store located at the corner of 31st Street and Avenue Q in Galveston. Her parents, had stopped by the store for a visit. When they left the store, their daughter was alive. This would be the last time they would ever see their daughter alive.
At 1:22 pm, a private alarm was triggered and sent Galveston Police officers to the Salinas grocery store. Four minutes later, law enforcement arrived to a horrific scene. Sylvia Salinas was found dead behind the counter. She was slumped over in a pool of blood. Her killer had stabbed her to death with her own butcher knife. The knife was sitting next to her on the counter. For protection, Sylvia kept a loaded revolver and a machete. Neither was touched. Law enforcement believe she must have been taken by surprise. This would explain why she wasn’t able to use her revolver or machete. The killer had pried open the register and stolen the cash but left behind the coins. And since the register had blood on it, law enforcement speculated that the killer used the butcher knife to open the register after stabbing Sylvia to death.
Law enforcement has since taken a second look at the case with fresh eyes to see if they possibly overlooked something. Unfortunately, some evidence may have been lost after Hurricane Ike rolled through back in 2008. The only evidence that remains is the knife and an old video tape of the crime scene. For this episode, I spoke to Amanda Upton, who is Sylvia’s great niece. She is trying to get answers for her family and find out who killed her aunt over 30 years ago.
Unfortunately, the case has gone cold and law enforcement hasn’t made any arrests. Were you living in this part of Galveston 30 years ago? Perhaps you shopped at Sylvia’s store? It’s possibly you may have seen something that didn’t seem significant at the time. If you know what happened to Sylvia, please call the Galveston Crime Stoppers at 409-763-8477.

Brandon Mitchener was a 22-year-old man who lived in Lansing, Michigan with his parents. He had big dreams. He earned his Associates Degree from Lansing Community College. He had studied Business and started his own clothing line called (M.I.Y.M) Make It Your Mission to do the right thing.
Unfortunately, he would never live to see his dreams come true because he would be found dead in the Grand River in Lansing, Michigan. Law enforcement ruled Brandon’s death as an accident, but his family and closest friends don’t believe this. They believe his death was the result of something more sinister.
Back in late June 2014, Brandon had plans that evening. He was going to meet with his business partner to celebrate another friend’s 21st birthday on a party bus. The young men planned to take the party bus to different bars and have some fun and drinks. According to police reports, after the party bus returned from its round of hitting several local bars in downtime Lansing, Brandon began feeling sick. According to security footage, Brandon was seen walking down the road on June 29th with his business partner following him.
Law enforcement said Brandon stumbled down the end of South Street, fell into an embankment and into the river and drowned. Brandon’s business partner told the police he lost sight of Brandon and assumed he had gotten home okay. He would then return to his friends and continue socializing with them. He never called 911 or any of Brandon’s family to let them know something may have happened to Brandon. After Brandon disappeared, his siblings and friends began searching for Brandon. One of his relative’s found a shoe and hat belonging to Brandon.
During an interview on Dateline, Shirley Mitchener said she has theories about Brandon’s death. One is that he was thrown into the river by the friends he met up with on the party bus. A second theory is that Brandon was pushed into the river. The police theory is that he was intoxicated and fell into the river.
For this story, I spoke to Shirley Mitchener about her relationship with her son and how she continues to grieve for him over eight years later.

On July 11, 2017, Amanda Dean's mother, Caroline Tokar, and her sister, Shannon Dean, both of Sandusky, reported that Amanda, 42, was missing, and they were concerned about her safety. The next day, however, Huron County Sheriff Todd Corbin told them that Amanda had been located and was safe, and the missing persons investigation was closed. Corbin told the family that Amanda didn’t want to speak to them. Caroline gave the Sheriff her phone number and asked him to make sure Amanda had it so she could contact the family. Unfortunately, no one has ever heard from Amanda in over five years.
Today, no one knows why Sheriff Corbin claimed to have conversed with Amanda and then later admitted to having no idea where she was. Local media sources like the Sandusky Register have tried questioning Corbin for answers. But he has been tight-lipped about the case. Corbin would eventually turn the case over to the Ohio BCI.
Amanda’s mother Caroline has refused to give up on finding her daughter. She has spoken to the media and anyone who is willing to listen to her share the details about Amanda’s disappearance. Caroline has also publicly said that Sheriff Corbin won’t provide her with any answers about her daughter.
Before Amanda disappeared, she had sent troubling texts to her sister Shannon that she feared her abusive boyfriend and was in fear of being killed. The Bureau of Criminal Investigation has since taken over Amanda’s case. Since Amanda’s disappearance, she has become a grandmother. Her son Joshua now had 2 children. He has said he misses his mother and that she doesn’t even know she’s a grandmother.
The family has since learned that an anonymous caller had contacted law enforcement and claimed that Amanda’s boyfriend was involved in her disappearance. For now, Fred Reer has not been charged with having anything to do with Amanda Dean’s disappearance. For this story, I spoke to Caroline Tokar and Shannon Dean about the disappearance of Amanda Dean. (Part 2 of 2) Shanaira Selden was born on May 17, 1994 in Florence South Carolina. According to her mother, Shameka Sells Moore, her daughter was last seen near her home by a neighbor in the Wyandotte Park area on October 21, 2019. Shameka, who lives in Radcliffe, KY, told a local media source that something strange was going on. Not only was her daughter missing, but she had left several important items behind. For instance, her cell phone, hijbab and prayer beads from her Muslim faith were left behind. She also left a photo of her son Ayden and a little bear that she kept to remember him by. Ayden was four when he was killed in a car accident in April 2018.
And Shameka said it wasn’t like her daughter to go anywhere without telling someone.
She said her daughter was a loving and kind person without any enemies.
Unfortunately, Shanaira's body was found nude and deceased floating in the Ohio River in New Albany, Ohio on October 27, 2019. Her death was originally been ruled a suicide but has since been changed to undetermined. For this story, I spoke to Shanaira’s mother Shameka Sells Moore about her daughter’s mysterious death.
What happened to Shanaira Selden? Why was her nude body floating in the Ohio River? And why was her clothing, shoes and backpack missing? Most likely someone removed her items and disposed of them before dumping her body into the river. Shameka is convinced someone killed her daughter and she doesn’t believe law enforcement has a sincere interest in finding out the truth. (Part 2 of 2) This week’s unsolved homicide is about the story of an 18-year-old young woman named Deborah Sue Williamson who lived in Lubbock, Texas. She was stabbed 17 times in her carport. She would die just a few feet away from her front door. Deborah was a newlywed. She had recently married a man named Doug Williamson. She was supposed to meet her husband at the Pizza Inn restaurant he managed. After she didn’t show up, he became worried. He tried calling around to find out if anyone had seen his wife.
At 1 a.m. he left work and found her lifeless body. Naturally, Doug was the primary suspect since he was Deborah’s significant other. However, law enforcement cleared him because he was at work the entire evening and never left. Her case was basically forgotten for several years until a prolific killer named Henry Lee Lucas confessed to killing Deborah. This story was profiled on the Netflix series titled The Confession Killer.
Today, the case remains as cold as the heart of the person who killed Deborah. This would change when an investigative journalist named George Jared and his partner Jennifer Bucholtz, a former Army counter intelligence officer took an interest in the case. The crimefighting duo traveled to Lubbock, Texas to find out who killed Deborah Sue Williamson. Their investigation was more thorough than law enforcement’s. They visited the crime scene and investigated most of the key people involved in the case.
They put their findings together and presented them in a book titled “Silent Silhouette.” George has said the book doesn’t name any suspects. He presents case facts from his own interviews and the original police file and allows the reader to make his or her own deductions about what happened to Deborah Sue Williamson.
The case still hangs over Lubbock, Texas like a dark cloud. There is still hope that law enforcement can use modern technology to find evidence unseen to the human eye.
So who killed Deborah Sue Williamson nearly 50 years ago?

On March 6, 2007, employees of a business on North 71st Street in Tampa made a disturbing discovery. They found human remains sticking out of the dirt in the back of the parking lot. Someone had been buried in a shallow grave. Tampa police sent their homicide squad. The victim was identified as 36-year-old Tracy McClelland of Tampa.
Before Tracy McClelland disappeared, her family knew something had happened to her because she didn’t show up to visit her sister Lisa Whidden after she had just given birth to her son. Tracy wouldn’t have missed the birth of her nephew.
Law enforcement has said they think Tracy vanished around Valentine’s Day. Tracy’s sister Lisa had said Tracy had gone shopping to buy Valentine’s Day gifts and never returned home. Tracy had two daughters and a son who were young when their mother was killed.
According to family, Tracy had a good childhood. She came from a loving family. Tracy’s sister Lisa compared their environment to the television sitcom Leave it to Beaver. She said her parents were divorced, but they remained on good terms.
Tracy’s life seemed to be on track for success until her older brother Larry committed suicide on August 28, 1996 when Larry had called Tracy from a mental health facility. He had been previously diagnosed with schizophrenia. Apparently, Larry asked Tracy to come get him. Larry then committed suicide by hanging himself in his room.
According to Tampa police Major George McNamara he said Tracy had two lives. "When she wasn't on drugs, she was a sweet, loving person who was dedicated to her family. but cocaine took over her life and destroyed her."
After Valentine’s Day of 2007 had passed, Janice Garvin had become extremely worried. Where was her daughter Tracy? Everyone in Tracy’s family had become worried after she had stopped contacting the family. No one knew what had happened to her. Although she had been known to disappear in the past, something was different this time.
Janice Garvin called the authorities to report her missing daughter. Law enforcement then began searching for her. Tracy’s body was recovered on March 6, 2007 near a Tampa cleaning company. Based on the smell of death, employees assumed someone had dumped an animal carcass in the vicinity. Buzzards had also descended upon the area. Eventually, an employee climbed into a bobcat and began scooping at the dirt where the smell came from. He uncovered a body.
The woman was in her 20s or 30s, had dark hair and breast implants. She was wearing a blue skirt and had nice teeth and toenails. It was believed she was a deceased prostitute or drug addict. The victim was confirmed as Tracy McClelland of Tampa. Law enforcement has stated Tracy died from upper body trauma. But no additional details have been provided.
For now, there is no motive and it’s unknown where Tracy was killed.
The family has waited over 15 years for answers. They realize someone out there knows the truth.
It’s been 15 years since Tracy was killed and discarded like trash. For this episode, I spoke to Malia Correa whose uncle had once dated Tracy. The former couple had two daughters who are Malia’s cousins. She has told me that she loved Tracy dearly and she wants justice for her two cousins whom she considers her sisters. The entire family needs justice for this woman who was so loved.
Do you know who killed this young mother of three? If you have any information about this case, please contact the Tampa police at (813) 276-3529 or you can reach out to Tampa Bay Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS. I will also be sure to provide this information in the case story notes.

Erin worked as a temporary employee at the Upper Peninsula Medical Center in Marquette, Michigan. She was last seen by her co-workers on August 11, 2000.
She would be found murdered nine days later. A subsequent autopsy revealed Erin was strangled in her home before her body was dumped along CR 492. The ligature was still wrapped around her neck. She was identified by dental records.
Bonnie Dowd and Erin Taylor had a unique friendship. Dowd first met Taylor at a women’s shelter in Wisconsin and quickly became fast friends. In 1999, the friends moved to Marquette and lived together. According to Bonnie, Erin was estranged from her parents. They were Jehovah’s Witnesses and she wasn’t. Although, Private Asia Graham wasn’t murdered, her death would stem from being raped and then feeling hopeless because she felt like her superiors were more concerned about her attacker and less about the rape she endured. Before Asia died, she confided in her mother that when she reported the rape to her company commander, he told her to just get over it and move on. Asia told her mother she didn’t feel like anyone cared that she was raped.
Unfortunately, Nicole Graham wouldn’t be the only grieving parent. Not long after Asia's December 31, 2020 death, her closest friend and fellow soldier Pvt. Marriah Pouncy of Chinle, Ariz. would take her own life months later on June 21, 2021. She would also die at Fort Bliss as did Asia. Mariah was a proud member of the. Navajo Nation.
Asia Graham’s life began to unravel after only being at Fort Bliss, Texas for a month. It took two months for Asia to get enough courage to report that she was raped while unconscious on December 31, 2019. Her attacker was fellow soldier PFC Christian Alvarado. Asia reported the rape in February 2020. However, her superiors didn’t file the complaint until June.
One year later, she was found dead in her barracks where she overdosed while battling depression from the assault, her mother said. When I asked Nicole about details surrounding Asia’s death, she told me that Asia and two of her friends received a Percoset from an unidentified person. According to Nicole, two of the pills were fine, but unknown to Nicole, her Percoset was laced with Fentanyl which killed her. Nicole believes the person who gave her daughter the Percoset should be held responsible for killing her daughter.
Soldier Christian Alvarado was convicted of raping Pfc. Asia Graham Alvarado. He received a sentence of 18 years and three months.

This week's story is about a 15-year-old teenager named Kerry Patterson, who vanished from Fullerton, California on June 26th, 1980 after meeting with several other teenagers at a local ice cream store called the Ice Cream Castle.
She was last seen leaving with three boys named Danny Wozab, Michael Cruz and Troy LeClear. According to Wozab, Carrie climbed on his handle bars. They boys then escorted her home on their bicycles. The boys said that after leaving Kerry, she walked home and that was the last time they ever saw her again.
For this week's episode, I spoke to attorney Michelle Patterson Ludwig, who is Kerry's younger sister and Detective Bob Taft with the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
He is the current detective assigned to finding out who killed Kerry Patterson over 40 years ago.
The family had only moved into their new home two weeks before Kerry ultimately disappeared on June 26th, 1980. The family was expecting their furniture to be dropped off. Chrystal Patterson told her daughters to stay home and wait for the furniture as she had to work. Kerry ignored her mother's order and left her younger sister Michelle to wait for the furniture alone. After Kerry left to meet up with friends at a local ice cream shop, she never returned home.
Because Kerry wasn't considered a crime victim, law enforcement didn't question construction workers or the furniture delivery workers. After speaking to Michelle and Detective Taft, I learned that law enforcement never visited the ice cream shop to confirm that Kerry and the three boys were ever there. For six months, the family was left wondering what happened to Kerry.
They would find out months later. On December 27th, 1980, an oil worker found Kerry's skeletal remains. This week's story is about a soldier who was injured, neglected, and then died after there was an order issued to watch over him. Instead, his body was left in his room to decompose for days before anyone cared enough to check on him. This is the story of private Caleb 'Smitty' Smither.
According to Heather Baker, her son, private second class Caleb grant Smither from Texas. He had a fascination for the military. It's what led him to joining the army and going through jump school at Fort Benning, Georgia. he then joined the 82nd airborne out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, upon graduating from jump school.
Caleb was known as Smitty by his friends and served with the E company 37th brigade engineer battalion second brigade combat team after spending seven weeks and four days at Fort Bragg. Caleb was found dead in his barracks room on January 21st, 2020. He was only 19-years-old. He spent his final moments alone and in agony from a head wound.
Caleb died of bacterial meningitis. This was after he hit his head on a radiator earlier in January, 2020. He was working on a military vehicle when the accident occurred. Heather Baker, and her attorney blamed Caleb's death on medical malpractice at the Womack army medical center and his fellow soldiers who were supposed to look after Caleb. One soldier claimed to have checked on Caleb on January the 19th. And he said Caleb was fine. He later admitted that he had lied and never checked on Caleb.
Caleb texted regularly until January the 15th when his phone went silent. Heather believes her son died on the 15th, which is why all phone activity ceased. Another soldier smelled Caleb's decaying body, but never checked his room to investigate.
What I find so troubling about Caleb's death is the meningitis ruling. If you do any research on meningitis or if you've had it, you realize that it is contagious. If Caleb truly died from it, then how come no one else contracted it? According to Heather, there was no quarantine and no other soldiers were tested for it. If the military cared so much for its troops, then why wouldn't anyone else be tested? If you would like to know more about what's being done to bring awareness, to preventing unnecessary deaths of our soldiers, please visit the mothers of the fallen Facebook page.

This week's story is an update to episode 40 of the Catch my Killer podcast. In that episode I interviewed Thomas Berg, who is the father of a 27-year-old soldier named Brandon Rosecrans who was murdered on May 18, 2020 in Harker Heights, Texas. While stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, Brandon had befriended a couple who murdered Brandon, dumped his body alongside a road and then set his Jeep on Fire. In this episode, Brandon’s father provides the latest update on his son’s homicide.
For this week’s episode I spoke to Thomas Berg, who is the father of a murdered soldier named Brandon Rosecrans. The Harker Heights Police Department had concluded that Brandon died from a gunshot wound and his death was ruled a homicide.
On May 18, 2020, at 10 am, local police officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of Fuller Lane in Harker Heights Texas where Pfc. Brandon Scott Rosecrans was found dead. Moments later, firefighters and police were sent to a vehicle fire in Evergreen Estates, near the 1500 block of FM 2410 and Cedar Knob Road. The burning vehicle was Brandon Rosecrans's 2016 Orange Jeep Renegade.
When I originally posted Brandon’s story in episode 40, there were no arrests made in Brandon’s death. Since my original interview with Brandon’s father, there have been developments in this case. A couple who befriended Brandon have been identified as his killers. The couple has been identified as Brandon Olivera and Estrellita “Star” Falcon.
According to law enforcement, Olivares changed his story several times. Estrellita “Star” Falcon was sentenced to 19 months for unauthorized use of a vehicle. She has not been charged with killing Brandon Rosecrans. Brandon Oliveras, who shot Rosecrans to death is scheduled for trial sometime in December 2022.

Alana Laney Gwinner was born on March 18th, 1974 in West Chester, Ohio. After graduating from Lakota high school in 1992, she attended the University of Cincinnati to study accounting. She attended classes while working. On December 9th, 1997, she met up with a friend at Gilmore bowling lanes in Fairfield, Ohio. The plan was for the two friends to have some drinks and shoot some pool.
It's believed she left the bowling alley sometime between 12:30 AM and 1:00 AM on the morning of December 10th, 1997. After leaving the bowling alley, she planned on driving to her boyfriend's house, which was only two miles away. Before leaving the bowling alley, she called her boyfriend to let him know that she was on her way. She never made it to his house. It wasn't until 10:00 AM that her friends and coworkers became concerned. She was a responsible young woman and would not miss work or fail to contact her friends. Eventually law enforcement became involved after Alana was reported missing. Her body was found on January 11, 1998.
Alana's body was discovered during the search for a deceased police officer named Michael Parton, who had fallen into the Ohio river and drowned. Alana's death was ruled a homicide. Her body was fully clothed and she wasn't raped or robbed today. The motive remains a mystery.
For this story, I spoke to a high school teacher named Randy Hubbard, who works with students at Mason high school in Mason. The class is called cold case MHS. The students study different local cold cases and speak with law enforcement and do research on specific cold cases. Randy has spoken to retired law enforcement officers who have worked on Alana's case. He has also spoken to her brother about the case.

This week's story concerns a murdered 35-year-old father of two named Jerald “Jerry” Hall. His body was found on October 15, 1988 by deer hunters. He was found face down in the woods off I 44 near Leesburg, Missouri. For this story, I spoke to Jessica Underwood, who was Jerry’s youngest daughter. She was four when her father was murdered. At the time of his death, he was living in Hardy, Arkansas with an unnamed girlfriend. He was separated from Jessica’s mother when he was killed. Jessica has made it her mission to find out who killed her father.
Unfortunately, she has been hitting countless roadblocks in her quest for justice. She has heard several different stories about what happened to her father but cannot confirm any of them. Jerry was a heavy drinker who didn’t have an automobile. He was known to hitchhike everywhere, which was common during the 80s. One story is that Jerry was hitchhiking to visit his daughter Jessica.
Another story is that he was hitchhiking to buy alcohol. A third story was that while hitchhiking, Jerry came across and elderly man with a flat tire. After Jerry began helping the stranger change his tire, a car swerved by and nearly struck the elderly man. Jerry became angry with the two men in the car. Afterward, Jerry engaged in a heated argument with the two men which led to a fight. The elderly man then went to a gas station and called law enforcement. However, when law enforcement returned to the scene, Jerry and the two men were gone.
Jessica has spoken to law enforcement and learned there are no crime scene photos or witness statements. She has been told the documentation she requested has either been misplaced or lost.
If you know anything about this case, you can report your tips to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department at (573) 775 – 4911. And if you would like additional information about this case, you visit the Who Killed Jerald Hall Facebook page. Please consider following this page for updates. This week's story concerns a missing father named Ronnie Paul Russell. The 29-year-old man disappeared from Batesville, Arkansas on November 4, 2010. It has been nearly 12 years since he was last seen alive. Wanda Tosh has lost all hope of finding her son alive. Her belief is that someone murdered him.
Nov. 4, 2010, wasn’t an unusual day for Ronnie. He had visited his uncle. But when it was time for Ronnie to leave, he asked a relative for a ride. The relative dropped Ronnie off at local Hardee’s fast-food restaurant. He hasn’t been seen since. There is a lot of information about this case on social media. However, I have been told much of it is incorrect. For instance, it’s been said that Ronnie walked off into some woods near his uncle’s house and killed himself.
His mother, Wanda, is distraught over her missing son. She feels like law enforcement has taken no interest in finding her son. She also thinks law enforcement hasn’t taken this case seriously because of Ronnie’s previous issues with drugs and his run-ins with the law for minor offenses.
Ronnie had told some friends that he was planning on visiting his wife in Newark, Arkansas, so he could reconcile with her. He never made it to her house. She told law enforcement she didn’t see him that day. Independence County investigators have cleared Ronnie’s wife and others. The area surrounding Ronnie’s uncle has been searched with no success. There are definitely many rumors about this case.
What happened to Ronnie nearly 12 years ago? He had left his uncle’s home and gotten a ride to a local fast-food restaurant. From there, he tried to get a ride to visit his wife, who he had recently separated from. Based on new tips, a witness saw Ronnie at a party on the evening he vanished. So it would appear that Ronnie attended this party instead of going to his wife’s home.
The family is asking for your help. You can report any tips to the Independence Sheriff’s Department at (870) 793 - 8838 or you can call the Help the Missing tip line at (866) 660–4025. And if you would like additional information about this case, you visit the Who Killed Ronnie Russell Facebook page. I will also share this information in the episode story notes. This week's story involves a 19-year-old woman named Brittany McGlone. She grew up in Winnsboro Texas. After she graduated from high school, she decided to take some time off and work before attending nursing school at Baylor University. Her goal was to become a nurse like her mother Patricia Tice.
Unfortunately, May 4, 2007 would be the worst day of Patricia’s life. She had a tight relationship with her beloved daughter Brittany who was working two jobs when she was murdered. During high school, she played trumpet in her high school's marching band, and graduated with honors. She said Brittany was the perfect daughter. She didn’t drink, do drugs, have any legal issues or cause her any trouble.
Patricia’s life was destroyed when she learned that her daughter was brutally murdered. Brittany had begun dating Jeff Stogner, the son of a coworker at a local business that was similar to a mini-Walmart. After getting off work, Brittany left work and stayed overnight with her boyfriend.
The morning of May 4, 2007 began with Brittany’s boyfriend Jeff and his stepfather traveling to Dallas to pick up a relative and take her to the airport. Since Brittany had just gotten off work hours earlier, Jeff let Brittany sleep in.
Hours later, Jeff returned home to a horrific scene. He found his girlfriend Brittany’s nude dead body. Someone had entered the home, sexually assaulted and then murdered Brittany. Law enforcement believed Brittany was killed sometime between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. According to her mother Patricia, the killer left with the murder weapon and Brittany’s clothing. During the investigation, law enforcement learned that Jeff’s sister dated a man named Chad Carr who had previously been convicted of various crimes which included burglary of a building, sexual assault and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is considered a person of interest in Brittany’s death.
Patricia Tice has said she never thought her daughter’s case would go this long without being solved. The only positive note in this case is that Wood County Sheriff Kelly Cole has taken a serious interest in solving the case. According to Brittany’s family, several other sheriff’s have come and gone. She said previous ones wouldn’t return calls or express much interest in the case.
Sheriff Cole has said it’s possible that two people may be involved in this horrific crime. He isn’t ruling anyone out so everyone remains a suspect. Patricia Tice has said that Sheriff Cole has been the only Law enforcement officer the family has trusted.
Today, her killer remains free. Someone out there knows who killed this young lady. Could it be you? Do you know who killed her? If you do, please help this family get justice and contact the Wood County Sheriff’s department at (903) 763 - 2201 or you can leave your tip with Crime Stoppers at (903) 850 - 9060. And if you would like to know more about Brittany’s story, there are two Facebook pages created by the family. They are Brittany Danielle McGlone (1987-2007) and Who killed Brittany McGlone.

This week's episode involves a woman named Regina Orozco, who was 59 when she vanished from her Roebuck, South Carolina residence on January 18, 2019. At the time of her disappearance, she lived with her youngest daughter and son-in-law. She allegedly left a note stating she was going to Alaska. I say allegedly because her two oldest daughters claim their mother didn't write the note.
Regina had three daughters and a son. Her two oldest daughters, Michelle and Gina Orozco, believe their mother is deceased. Regina's two older daughters have been trying to find out what happened to their mother. They don't believe their mother left on her own because she wasn't financially stable enough to just leave.
Regina left behind her debit card, belongings, and identification when she disappeared. Daughters Gina and Michelle said there is no way their mother went to Alaska without any financial resources. She also didn't know anyone in Alaska.
The family is divided over their missing mother. The family dynamics among the four aren’t good. While the two older siblings are united in finding their mother, they both claim their brother and youngest sister haven't been involved in trying to find their mother.
Unfortunately, if you do research about this case, you won't find any information about this missing woman. There is no media coverage or any other attention being given to this case. That is why it’s so important for listeners to share this story. It needs attention. I am hoping the media will pick up this story and encourage law enforcement to look harder at family for answers.
For this story, I spoke to Gina Orozco and Michelle Orozco who are Regina's two oldest daughters. Both women have told me they will do whatever is necessary to find their missing mother. I began this story by speaking to Michelle Orozco, who is Regina's second born.
Do you know what happened to Regina? If you know what happened to her or if you can provide any information about her whereabouts, please contact South Carolina Crime Stoppers at 1-888-274-6372 or the Spartanburg Sheriff's Department at 864-596-2222.

In this week's unsolved homicide case, a 22-year-old Hispanic man named Johnny Raymond Resendez, was murdered in Levelland, Texas on May 20, 1990. A witness was present when he was killed. It was Jessica Alvarado, his 6-year-old daughter. Johnny Raymond Resendez was born on June 14, 1967. The former convict had every intention of staying out of trouble once he was released. He had told his family that he deeply regretted getting into legal trouble. After being released, he vowed to be a responsible father to Jessica.
During the early morning hours of May 20, 1990, Johnny and some family members, including Jessica, drove to a business called Darrell’s Place to buy alcohol. While there, he got into an argument with a black male. Johnny was stabbed to death in front of his daughter. The killer then drove off in a silver and black pickup truck.
Jessica is still heartbroken over the loss of her father. And the image of him being stabbed to death has never left her mind. She is now a mother and is devastated that her children will never meet their grandfather. If you can help Jessica get justice for her father, please reach out to Jessica by email at jessalvarado2011@gmail.com or you can send your tip to me through my websites www.catchmykiller.com or www.themarcabe.com. On Sunday, March 7, 1993, a 30-year-old mother named Lori Lee Malloy was found dead by police on the bathroom floor of her East Providence, Rhode Island apartment after her boyfriend Henry requested a welfare check. The death scene was highly suspicious. Her apartment door was open, and the bathroom sink faucet was running. On the kitchen table were two drinking glasses and leftover food. There was also a full refrigerator, but it was unplugged.
The young mother was naked, with recent bruises on her upper thighs and arm. Her dark hair was found scattered around her apartment. There was a clump of hair between the toes of one foot, strands wrapped between the fingers of one hand and a "bracelet" of hair around the other.
Detectives from the East Providence Police Department treated the scene like a homicide. They removed several pieces of evidence, including a hair sample from a clump of light-brown hair found in a shoe on top of a table by the front door that looked as if it were ripped from someone’s head.
Other items found in the room included a bath towel with mucus on it, the sheets and comforter for the master bed, several items of infant clothing, hairs and drinking glasses. Police also completed a rape kit. Lori's original autopsy was conducted by a medical examiner who lost his license to practice in RI, for misdiagnosing cases.
The ME who conducted Lori's autopsy closed the case as a "natural" manner of death caused by "hypertrophic cardiomyopathy," which would have one believing there were heart issues. However, there weren’t any issues with Lori’s heart. Lori was also listed as a cocaine user. But a toxicology screen showed no traces of drugs in her system.
In February 2021, Lori's family obtained a copy of her 1993 autopsy report and challenged its findings with the RI Department of Health (RIDOH). In March 2021, the senior ME handling Lori's modern case review, told Lori's family that she did not die of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and, in fact, had no obvious natural or unnatural reason to die. Lori's family was advised that Lori needed to be exhumed and her investigation completely redone to understand her cause and manner of death. The ME refuted the entire 1993 autopsy.
Much of the evidence from Lori's death scene is still available for testing today. Lori's family is having difficulty reopening her case because the state refuses to do so. Lauren Malloy, the daughter of Lori Malloy, is now trying to get Lori's case reopened and investigated as a homicide.
Due to the fact that Lori was naked and DNA evidence exists, sexual assault is possible. However, no tests have been conducted on the biological evidence. If no tests have been performed, how can anyone justify calling this case a natural death? Additionally, there were signs of two people being in the apartment.
Lori Malloy died nearly 30 years ago under mysterious circumstances. She allegedly died from natural causes, however, this is unlikely. What happened to her in 1993? If you know anything about Lori's death, please contact the East Providence RI Police at (401) 435-7600.
You can even reach out to me. If you wish, I will not reveal your identity and respect your privacy. If you would like to learn more about this case, please visit Uncovered.com (https://uncovered.com/cases/lori-malloy) or the Unsolved R.I. Facebook page.

Karen Spencer's story began on December 29, 1989. 17-year-old Karen and her sister-in-law Christy Spencer were driving along I-275 in Clermont County. Karen had been staying with her brother and sister-in-law in Miami Township. Christy and Karen got into an argument sometime around 3:00 a.m., Christy pulled over between the Montgomery Road and Ohio 28 exits. Karen then exited the vehicle. It is unknown whether Christy forced Karen to get out of her car or if Karen wanted to leave on her own.
According to Christy, Karen then began walking north. Christy then went back to pick Karen up. When she returned, Karen was gone. Witnesses reported seeing Karen walking along the highway. She was never seen alive again. Her family began searching for her. They found no trace of the missing high school student. Karen's family said she had a job and was looking forward to her high school graduation. This year marks the 33rd anniversary of Karen’s disappearance.
The only clue about Karen’s disappearance involved a man who pulled over after seeing Christy’s car along the highway. The man asked the women if they needed help. Christy told the man they were fine and for him to go away. The man then left. Law enforcement claimed that the man gave inconsistent answers and seemed suspicious. No further action was taken against him. However, a former detective on the case told Karen’s brother that the man went to the hospital hours later for a groin injury. His wife told law enforcement she didn’t give him the injury. According to Jim Campbell, this man is a person of interest and still lives in Ohio. He has also lawyered up and will not speak to the police.
Karen’s family remains frustrated after spending over three decades in search of information about her whereabouts. Law enforcement is unlikely to find out what happened to Karen without the public’s assistance. Jim Campbell, Karen’s brother, said at this point, he doesn’t even care about punishing whoever abducted his sister. He just wants her body returned to the family so they can give her a proper burial and say goodbye.
It’s been 33 years since this beautiful teenager was snatched away from her family in the early morning hours of Clermont County, Ohio. Jim Campbell and his family are pleading for your help. Imagine if Karen was your sister or family member. Wouldn’t you want to know what happened to her? If you have any information about this case, please call the Miami Township Police at 513-248-3721 or Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040.

Melissa was a loving mother who loved her children. Her family believes that Melissa's boyfriend Derek Hammer knows what happened to her. Currently, he is incarcerated for multiple crimes, including gun crimes, drug crimes, and domestic violence.
Ben Affrunti, the father of two of Trumpy’s children has said Hammer shouldn't ever be released from jail because he is dangerous threat to society. He fears that Hammer will harm his family. Affrunti’s son witnessed Hammer physically assault his mother and point a gun at her.
Daniel Kaiser, a friend of Melissa’s said she confided in him days before she disappeared that she was terrified of Hammer. And she had every right to be fearful because she was going to testify against him in court.
According to court records, both Melissa and Hammer were charged with a felony offense of maintaining a drug trafficking location in October. As a witness to a crime, she also faces a felony charge of possessing THC with the purpose to manufacture, distribute, or deliver it, and a misdemeanor charge of possessing drug paraphernalia. Melissa appeared in court on October 18, 2021 and was released on a signature bail. Hammer was freed after posting bail.

If you do an internet search on Derek Hammer. You will see he is a career criminal who has been arrested many times. Somehow, he has managed to stay out of prison. For now, Hammer hasn’t been publicly named a person of interest in Melissa’s disappearance.
Melissa disappeared from the Shannon Illinois area. This is where Derek Hammer and his mother resided. Search parties have checked wooded areas, swamps, ditches and private property in and around Shannon since she went missing. As of this recording, she’s still missing. This week's story involves a 22-year-old young woman from Flint, Michigan named Aliyah Nicole Wilson. During the early morning hours of July 19, 2020, Aliyah was found deceased outside her balcony at her Village of Piney Point apartment in Houston. Her death was immediately ruled a suicide by hanging.
Aliyah's family disagrees with the ruling and believes her body was staged to look as though it was a suicide after she was killed. An injury to the hyoid bone or a broken neck may occur in a hanging. However, Aliyah's neck was not broken. Also, Aliyah's backpack and slide-on shoes were found on the staircase. If Aliyah walked up the stairs barefoot, why was the bottom of her feet clean?
Aliyah's clothes and belongings were also missing. People who commit suicide sometimes give away their belongings, but Aliyah did not do that. What happened to Aliyah's property? Is it possible that someone else was in Aliyah's apartment when she died? Possibly. Aliyah was also involved in an abusive relationship with another woman. Aliyah's mother told me the police were called to Aliyah's apartment several times for domestic violence. She expressed fear of being harmed by her ex.
For this week's unsolved homicide, I spoke to Denise McClendon, who is Aliyah's mother. She has asked me to help share her daughter's story, hoping someone will hear her story and take action. Did she commit suicide or was she murdered? Her mother has no reason to believe her daughter would commit suicide.
If you know anything about Aliyah's death, please reach out to Houston PD by calling them at (713)-308-3600 or (713)-308-3946. And if you would like to know more about this case, please visit the Justice for Aliyah Facebook page.

This week’s story involves a 19-year-old young man from Park Hills, Missouri named Deronate Martin. He was beloved by his siblings, his mother Ericka Lotts and his grandmother Kimberly Lotts Robinson. He loved football and was certainly big enough at 6’3 and 250 pounds to play the game.
He had received a scholarship to play football and dreamed of playing in the NFL. He wouldn’t live long enough to even play college football. On April 25, 2021, the police were called to a home around 3 a.m. near Fredericktown, Missouri. It was the home of a white man who had posted racist material on social media. The homeowner directed a Madison County sheriff's deputy to the attic where he found the body of Derontae Martin who had allegedly shot himself to death in his left temple.
Police and a forensic pathologist had determined that he fatally shot himself. Ericka Lotts, who is Derontae's mother, said authorities concluded that Martin, 19, who was black, died by suicide and repeatedly told her that she was in denial about the nature of her son's death. Ericka claimed police and medical personnel who handled the initial death investigation were blinded by tunnel vision. And it appears she was correct in her assessment. The cause of death was changed from suicide to murder.
So the next question is, what was the motive? So who killed Derontae and why? If you have
any information about this case, please contact the FBI Missouri Office at (314) 589-2500 or the National FBI Office at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324). You can also visit the www.justiceforderontae.com website for additional information about Derontae.

On November 1, 2020, St. Louis police were summoned to the 5900 block of Bartmer, which is located in the West End. On late Sunday night, two people were found shot to death inside a blue sedan. The deceased were 36-year-old David Joshua Long of Fredericktown and 20-year-old Ashlyn Ketcherside from Farmington, Missouri. The double homicide brought St. Louis' murder total to 220.
The events leading up to the shooting began on Halloween 2020. Ashlyn was visiting with her father Darcy “Dink” Ketcherside. Ashlyn's friend David Joshua Long picked her up and drove her to Saint Louis. Dink’s last words to his daughter were I love you. According to Dink, Long went to St. Louis not knowing he was being set up to be physically assaulted.
Once David Long reached his destination, an unknown killer opened fire on him. He was killed instantly. Ashlyn ducked down and climbed into the backseat when the killer started firing. Morris Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania, is the site of this week's unsolved homicide. Betty Jane McClellan, an elderly grandmother, was shot to death inside her home during a home invasion in 2009. She was home with her husband Jake, who was shot twice but survived.
After her divorce in 1976, Betty Jane McClellan moved to western Greene County, a rural area in Pennsylvania with her four children. She had to adjust to being a single parent. Her church and community embraced her. She worked at a local restaurant for nearly twenty years. Patty Friend, whose family owned the restaurant, often referred to Betty as her right hand. Betty worked at the restaurant, in the office, and later managed the restaurant.
Betty's children loved her. She was the ideal mother. She attended all the events her children participated in. Betty devoted herself to her children.
Sadly, her children would lose their mother to a horrific homicide. Jake and Betty Jane McCllellan were at their mobile home on the night of March 22, 2009. Just before 10 p.m., there was a knock at the door. As Jake answered, he saw a white male with shoulder-length brown hair pulled back into a ponytail asking for help with a flat tire. Jacob told him to wait outside. When Jake went to get a jacket, the man barged into his home with a gun and demanded money and guns.
A fight ensued between Jake and the man. During the shooting, Jake was shot twice, once in the cheek, and once in the neck, falling to the ground. Jake heard another gunshot coming from the rear of the mobile home as Betty screamed. Jake panicked and ran outside and hid between two parked cars in the front yard.
As he lies on the ground, he sees a white van slowly approaching his property. Jake saw the shooter run out of the house holding a bag or a pillowcase. The shooter approaches the van driver and they exchange words for about ten seconds before the shooter gets in and the van speeds away. Jake flags down another vehicle to call 911, and when police arrived, they discover Betty dead inside the mobile home. Jake survives after being airlifted to a local hospital. There was also another witness who saw the white van.
For this story, I spoke to Betty's daughter Shelly James about the unsolved murder of her mother Betty Jane McClellan. To report information about Betty Jane McClellan or Noble Wine, please contact Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers at 1-800-4PA-TIPS (8477).

On Dec. 2, 2010, Alicia's boyfriend, Eugene Wilson, came home to their apartment to find Alicia stabbed 30 times in the neck, face and chest. Their 2-year-old son Jeremiah was sitting in his highchair. It's believed he witnessed a soulless monster stab his mother to death. Law enforcement has questioned witnesses and tested blood samples found inside the apartment.
Who would want this young mother dead? She was on her way to success. She had earned her bachelor's and Master's degrees from the Ohio State University while still in her 20s. Based on my research and conversation with her cousin Shauntay Jackson, this is what occurred on Alicia's last day alive.
Alicia had left early from her job, picked up Jeremiah from his babysitter and had gotten home by 5:30 p.m. She had stopped by the store to get some eggs to make meatloaf for dinner. She had placed her son in his high chair and was able to get her dinner started.
Sometime between 530pm and 9pm, someone entered her apartment and stabbed her 30 times. Eugene arrived home at 9pm after finishing his class. He found Alicia's body and called the police. Alicia's two laptops and phone were gone, but her purse and wallet weren't taken.
Law enforcement and Alicia's family have an idea of who killed her but there isn't enough evidence to arrest this person. The family and police are convinced the motive was definitely personal. Law enforcement also believes that Alicia's killer was known to her and was most likely a woman. For this week's story, I spoke to Shauntay Jackson about the unsolved murder of her cousin Alicia.

Shannon Turner, a 33-year-old Wisconsin native relocated to Indianapolis in 1997. She was considered a kind and friendly free spirit who loved listening to blues bands at the Slippery Noodle Inn in downtown Indy. She loved grilling steaks, shooting pool and drinking beers with family.
She rented a home on the 300 block of Hamilton Avenue. She had a dog, friends and dated a man named David Mays who was an enforcer for the Outlaws motorcycle club. Shannon was a dancer at club called Babes. She was last seen on the evening of December 4, 1997 after finishing her shift. She was waiting on a ride from her boyfriend David Mays. She has never been seen again.
Her family became concerned when she didn’t show up in Wisconsin for Thanksgiving. Her brother Gregg Turner said his sister would have never missed a family event or not called. A couple of weeks later, Shannon’s landlord called her family back in Wisconsin and informed them Shannon hasn’t been seen in weeks. The landlord also told the family Shannon’s dog had been left outside unattended for days.
The family knew something was wrong. Turner’s sister filed a missing persons report. Flyers were posted on light posts around town as detectives launched an investigation. Gregg and his family members left Wisconsin and traveled to Indianapolis to remove Shannon’s belongings and search for any clues leading to finding Shannon.
Since Shannon’s disappearance, her brother Gregg has refused to stop trying to get justice for his sister. He said, “I’m not going to walk away. My sister is not just going to be some freebie, you don’t get to kill her and throw her away like trash.”
For this story, I spoke to Shannon’s brother Gregg Turner who shared the highs and lows of his sister’s case and his frustration with Indy PD to prosecute David Mays and his acquaintance Danny Garland of being involved in Shannon’s disappearance.

Murfreesboro, Tennessee was the scene of this week's unsolved homicide on August 2, 2019. Around 2:52 a.m. Terrell Ray drove to the Villager Condominiums on Middle Tennesse Boulevard in Murfreesboro to visit his girlfriend. He pulled into the complex after 3 a.m. and parked near her home. MPD detectives believe Ray was confronted by one or more individuals as he approached her doorstep. Some of his items, including a cell phone, were on the ground, suggesting he tried to escape.
At 3:16 a.m., emergency personnel arrived at the scene where they discovered Terrell lying face down with multiple gunshot wounds. Terrell was pronounced dead at the hospital.

This week’s story occurred on March 28, 2021 when a 23-year-old mother of two named Faithe Ely was found deceased on highway 56 near Wewoka, Oklahoma. Her boyfriend
found her body. He claimed she became angry with him and began walking down the highway barefoot to cool off. The mother of Faithe’s boyfriend met her son at the death scene and called 911 for help.
Faithe’s boyfriend told law enforcement that he had heard a vehicle hitting a speed bump. He became concerned and then began looking for Faithe. That’s when he found her body.
There was some confusion about how Faith died. And her death is still in dispute today. Originally, authorities believed Faithe was the victim of a hit and run. But her body didn’t have the appearance of someone who was hit by an automobile.
According to Faithe’s mother, there wasn’t any glass, plastic or pieces of a vehicle left behind. There were also no skid marks and Faithe’s body didn’t have any car parts embedded in her body. She also said there was no road rash which is an abrasion caused by friction. It happens to your skin when it gets scraped off by a hard surface.
Her family will remember Faithe as a young mother who was a creative free spirit with much spunk. Do you know what happened to this young mother? If you have any tips about Faithe’s death, please contact the Oklahoma Highway Patrol at (405) 425 - 2323. On January 6, 2012, law enforcement and firefighters responded to a house fire west of Glengary, West Virginia. Inside the home were the remains of 56 year old David Hutzler and his nine year old son James "Macky" Hutzler.
Initially, police classified the case as a murder-suicide. David Hutzler was believed to have shot his son, set their home on fire, and then killed himself. Police reported that the father and son both died from gunshot wounds to their heads, and the boy suffered a second "glancing" gunshot wound on his chin.
Kelli Hutzler, David Hutzler's daughter, refused to believe this. She insisted that her dad could not have committed such a heinous act. I asked Kelli why law enforcement ruled the case a murder suicide. She told me that her dad had no reason to kill himself and her brother. She also revealed that there was no murder weapon at the scene. According to her, the law enforcement theory that it was a murder suicide is incorrect because there was no weapon present. Kelli has taken issue with the West Va. State police for their initial ruling.
For over a year, locals and the public believed David had murdered his son before killing himself. Eventually, law enforcement realized their mistake. The case was then ruled a double homicide. Kelli told me she finds it disturbing that some people still believe the case was murder suicide, even a year after the case was reclassified as a double homicide.
Currently, there is an individual who is walking around unpunished after shooting a 9-year-old cub scout to death. Now on with the story of James and David Hutzler as told by David’s daughter Kelli Hutzler.
Do you know who killed this father and son? Do you have any information about their killer? It is Kelli's mission to find out who killed her dad and brother. Those with information about the Hutzler double homicide are asked to contact the West Virginia State Police at 304-267-0002 or 304-267-0000. You can also call Crime Stoppers at 304-267-4999.

This week’s case involves a young man from Nashville, Tennessee who was only 24 when he was murdered in front of a local store called the ET Market at 4000 Gallatin Pike in Nashville. On December 7, 2017. Eric McClendon left his house to go to a local store. He would unknowingly say goodbye to his mother Susie McClendon for the last time. He left with a friend named Gregory “Boo” Smith who was 18.
Sometime between the time the men left and Eric’s shooting, at least one other man climbed inside the car with Eric and his friend. While in the parking lot, the passenger turned around and shot Eric who was sitting in the backseat. According to Eric’s mother, there was video footage from the store. She asked someone from the store to describe what he saw on the video. He said the footage showed a man turning around and shooting Eric. The driver, Gregory Smith was also shot. After the shooting, the shooter exited the car and ran away. Eric’s mother told me there was also another person who also exited the vehicle.
Eric died from his injuries but Smith survived. Susie told me Smith witnessed Eric’s killing since he was in the front seat with the shooter. However, no one has been charged with killing Eric.
Do you know who killed Eric? Do you have any information about his killer? He was loved by his family and deserves justice. His daughter will grow up without ever knowing him. His mother will never be able to hug her son or tell him how much she loves him.

Andrea Knabel is a mother of two who mysteriously vanished in August 2019 from Louisville, Kentucky. You may have heard about Andrea’s case as there was a documentary released about her disappearance. The documentary is called Finding Andrea on Discovery Plus.
For this story, I spoke to Erin Knabel, who is Andrea’s sister. She was the last person known to have seen her sister.
August 13, 2019 is the official date of Andrea’s disappearance. After Andrea got locked out of her mother’s house, she walked to her sister Erin’s home. Andrea was staying with her mother at the time. The sisters lived within walking distance. After Andrea arrived at her sister’s home she was agitated about not being able to get into her mother’s house. Andrea then left her sister's home and began to walk home.
Erin watched her sister walk away from her house and that was the last anyone has seen of Andrea. Erin believes it’s highly possible that one of Andrea’s shady friends may know something about her disappearance.
Erin said her sister was reliable, kind, loving and an amazing big sister. Erin and her family have worked with law enforcement and brought in a private eye to help find Andrea. Although Erin wasn’t completely satisfied with the documentary about her sister, she said she still hopes it will bring attention to her sister’s case and reach someone who can provide an answer to what happened to Andrea.
What happened to Andrea Knabel? Did she walk away from her life or did someone harm her? If you know anything about Andrea’s whereabouts, I ask that you reach out to the family’s PI or law enforcement and provide a tip. If you would like to provide a tip, please contact PI Tracy Leonard at (502) 618-9337 or the Louisville Police Department at (502) 574-7120.

This week I interviewed David Keck, a gay man from Tennessee who shouldn’t even be alive to be speaking to me. It’s actually an act of God that he’s even alive. In 2014, David had met with some friends at a bar called Bullfeathers located in Knoxville, Tennessee. The friends had gotten together to have some drinks and participate in Karaoke. While on his way to the restroom, a man unknown to David engaged in a brief conversation with him. David said he believes they were discussing neck ties because David designed custom neck ties at the time. Thinking the man was interested in purchasing neckties, David gave the stranger a business card.
David then went back to his friends and thought nothing else about the stranger. David then left the bar before closing and drove home. Shortly after arriving home, he heard a knock on the door. It was the stranger at the bar. He had followed David home. Moments after opening the door, everything went black. The stranger physically assaulted David and raped him.
David was beaten so bad, his attacker assumed he had killed David. He would end up confessing to the mother of his children that he had murdered a gay man. He also stopped at another bar and told patrons he had killed a gay man. Eighteen hours later, the police arrived at David’s apartment. They found his apartment walls and floors covered in blood. The police officers that arrived looked at David’s body in a pool of his own blood. They assumed he was deceased until they saw his foot move.
The man who nearly killed David was eventually arrested and charged with assaulting David. For unknown reasons, he wasn’t charged with a hate crime. David is also a podcaster who has a show called Surviving Abuse where he speaks to survivors of horrific events. To learn more about David and his podcast, visit his website at https://survivingpodcast.com/ or you can find his Surviving Abuse podcast on all major platforms.

She left home to meet her boyfriend, Mike Manno, but did not return. At 1:36 a.m. on January 10, she texted her mother to confirm she'd see her in the morning as she had plans to babysit her younger siblings while her mom worked. She never showed up and has never been seen again.
Manno is considered a prime suspect in Oehling's disappearance. However, he claims she is alive and had been in touch with her. He claims to know where she is, but refuses to tell police where or cooperate with them. He has a lengthy criminal record which includes convictions for arson, theft, auto theft, statutory sexual assault, reckless endangerment, corruption of minors, and aggravated assault. He is currently behind bars.
In the days following Kaylene's disappearance, Manno sent explicit photographs of Kaylene to both her father and her 17-year-old sister. Manno has since been charged with corruption of minors. In addition, Kaylene wrote on her Facebook account that Manno had committed a robbery. In less than an hour, Kaylene's Facebook account was deactivated. This would be unusual behavior for Kaylene because she was highly active on social media.
For this story, I spoke with Kaylene's father, Jason Oehling, who is retired but has dedicated himself to finding out what happened to his daughter and advocating on behalf of other missing people. Now on with the story of Kaylen Oehling as told by her father Jason.
To report information about Kaylene Oehling's disappearance, please contact the Allegheny County Homicide Unit at 412-473-3000. You can also learn more about this case by visiting the Missing Kaylene Oehling Facebook page.

This week’s story is about a man in his 20s named Michael McKenney who lived in the Fairfield, Ohio area with his aunt and her family. For this story, I spoke to his mother Yolanda Middleton who has been searching for her missing son since May 2020 when he disappeared from a local park.
Michael was a young man who had internal demons he had to battle. He had a drug issue and had previously overdosed. But his mother said he seemed to be on the right track when he disappeared. He had just purchased a new car and had two jobs.
Michael vanished from Hueston Woods in Butler County, Ohio. Fairfield Township Police consider the case an active and open one. Unfortunately, they have run out of leads and haven’t been able to locate Michael or figure out what happened to him. Yalonda has hired a private investigator, passed out flyers, talked to local media about Michael and has done a lot to keep her son’s name in the public.
What happened to Michael nearly two years ago? His mother and siblings need answers. They would like to bring Michael home and to find out what happened to him. His family has been searching for him for nearly two years. They are concerned about his welfare and want him to come home.
If you know anything about the disappearance of Michael McKenney, please contact the Fairfield Township Police at 513-887-4406. Or you can also contact Private Investigator John Sain, at 937-974-6026. You can also learn more about this case by visiting the Bring Michael Home Facebook page.

Michelle Blank, Tina's daughter, still hopes Oklahoma authorities will find out who killed her mother. At the time of her mother's abduction, Michelle was a teenager. She was the last person to see her mother alive. Michelle stopped by the convenience store to see her mother. While in the store, she noticed a tall man with dark hair drinking a soda.
Little did Michelle know that the man she saw inside the store and another man would take her mother from the store and kill her. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has looked into the case. Unfortunately, there are still no answers.

Amy Lee Bracken was a 39-year-old woman from Pennsylvania named who was last seen on January 17, 2020. She had gotten a friend to give her a ride to North Braddock, Pennsylvania, where she planned to meet a man she had met online. After speaking to this man online for a few months, Amy was ready to meet him in person. Had she known the depth of his criminal history, she may not have ever wanted to meet him.
Amy was meeting him for the first time. She carried a backpack with her belongings. Furthermore, she didn't have her cell phone because it had broken a few days earlier, and she hadn't replaced it. Amy's family became concerned after no one heard from her
After Amy's family reported her missing, authorities spoke to the man she had met online. According to him, he and Amy met and spent the weekend together, and she left to purchase drugs in the company of a black man driving a white Lexus with Ohio license plates. After that, she disappeared.
For this story I spoke to Diane Cielo, who is Amy's aunt. She told me that the family believes that after Amy met with her date, she never left his home alive. Do you know anything about what happened to Amy? If you know what happened to Amy Lee Bracken, please report your tips to Alleghany County law enforcement officials at (412) 473-1200.

This week's story focuses on a 19 year old Houston, Texas man named Alexander "AJ" Silva III. His relatives say the last time they saw him was either April the 5th or 6th of 2021. Nearly a year has passed since anyone has heard from Silva. Friends and family say there is a reason for this. Although AJ's case is considered a missing person's case, his family claims that he is deceased.
Silva was charged with felony retaliation. As part of his bond conditions, he was ordered to wear an ankle monitor. The family assumed since AJ had a monitoring device, then law enforcement would always know his whereabouts.
However, they would learn this wasn't the case because law enforcement wasn't always monitoring him. He would eventually disappear and neither his family nor law enforcement know where he is. For this story, I spoke to Paul Vasquez, who is AJ's uncle. After being frustrated with law enforcement's efforts, Paul has traveled between his New Mexico home and Houston to perform his own investigation into his nephew's disappearance.
Paul found a young woman who witnessed someone chase and shoot AJ to death. She even showed Paul where AJ's deceased body lie after he died. Paul recorded the woman's statement and shared it with authorities. According to Paul, the Houston Police Department have discredited the witness. However, Paul believes her because she had nothing to gain by lying and he felt she risked her life to share this information.
Paul has since interviewed many witnesses and has pieced together the final days of his nephew. He told me he doesn't have a good relationship with Houston PD and they will no longer speak to him. At this point, he has said he just wants justice for his nephew and for police to acknowledge that AJ is not a missing person but indeed deceased.
The family is determined to find out what happened to AJ. They are worried that law enforcement will not give this case attention because he is a young black man with a troubled past. According to AJ's electronic monitoring records, he was at a warehouse on Lumberdale Road in Houston. And it's this warehouse where a witness told Paul Vasquez she witnessed AJ's homicide.
If you know what happened to AJ Silva III, please report your tips to the HPD at (713) 884-3131. And if you would like to know more about this case, please visit the Justice for AJ Facebook page. There is also a Tik Tok account with even more information. The address is @justice4lilaj

This week's story focuses on a Pennsylvania teenager named Alicia Markovich who was 15 when she vanished on April 26, 1987 from Dunn Avenue in Blairsville, Pennsylvania. At the time, she was visiting with her father John Markovich. This year will be the 35th year anniversary of Alicia's disappearance. Unfortunately, Alicia's mother, Marcie Smith, has long given up hope that she will ever see her daughter alive again.
The day seemed like any other day. Alicia, an eighth-grader at Windber High School in Somerset County, left with her father to spend time with him at his Blairsville home. Alicia's parents were divorced. It wasn't an overnight stay. Alicia was supposed to return home that same evening.
Supposedly, Alicia and her father got into an argument around 5pm. Allegedly, Alicia stormed out of the house and has never been seen again. She is listed as a missing person with state police and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. But everyone who was close to Alicia don't believe she is alive.
For this story I spoke to Chrissie Boyer, who was Alicia's childhood friend. Chrissie is one of Alicia's advocates and is also close friends with Alicia's mother Marcie. I also spoke a Laura Valdez, who has been friends with Marcie since childhood. She knew Alicia from birth and used to take Alicia out for pizza when she was a child.
I also reached out to John Markovich and his wife and asked them to participate in this episode. Neither responded to my request. I also want to state that many people think John Markovich knows more about his daughter's fate than he has ever said publicly. However, I must state that no criminal charges have ever been brought against him and he must be considered innocent of any wrong doing in the eyes of the law.
If you know what happened to Alicia Markovich, please contact Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-472-8477 or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678. You can also visit www.justiceforaliciamarkovich.com for additional information about Alicia's story.

In July of 2006, Shawn O'Brien was a 34 years old carpenter who didn’t show up for work on Saturday, July 22. Around 6 o'clock that night, his sister called 911. She had found him lying in a pool of blood on the floor of his Pleasant Street basement apartment. First responders weren’t sure what happened to Shawn. They believed he had possibly had a seizure. Did he fall and hit his head? The police didn’t consider the basement a crime scene so they didn’t close it off immediately and investigate it.
Police would come back at a later time to investigate the basement. The autopsy would be inconclusive but ruled that O’Brien had blunt force trauma to his head. And it didn’t seem likely it came from a fall.
“This is a classic sign of somebody being assaulted,” said Dr. Timothy Gallagher, an independent forensic pathologist. Gallagher also said, he cannot with one hundred percent certainty rule out that it was an accident, because there are no witnesses to corroborate what exactly happened in his final moments.
But, Gallagher does not believe O’Brien just fell to the floor. “Most likely not,” he told the NBC 10 I-Team. “When a person does fall, their injuries are just one-sided, they do not hit the ground and turn over and hit the ground again and turn over and hit the ground again. They hit the ground once, creating one injury,” said the forensic pathologist.
The police have two persons of interest. A man named Armand Rouleau rented the apartment to O’Brien. The other person of interest is Armand’s then girlfriend, Lynn Hallal.
Today, Natalia St. Louis is no longer a teenager. She is an adult who is determined to find out what happened to her father 15 years ago. Please be sure to visit Today, there are no answers about Shawn’s death. Natalia St. Louis is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in her father’s case. This week's story focuses on Amy Jo Nelson, a young mother from New Straitsville, Ohio who died on Sept. 18, 2017. It was initially thought she died of a drug overdose. On her death certificate, however, it stated that she died as a result of a homicide.
According to the Perry County coroner's report, both prescribed and non-prescribed drugs were in her system. However, drugs did not cause her death. The autopsy findings indicated Amy Jo Nelson's death was a homicide caused by blunt force trauma to the head."
"The extensive head and brain injuries are not consistent with a simple fall and are consistent with injuries incurred by multiple blunt force trauma. Given the other body injuries, it appears the decedent was assaulted by another person or persons. Abbie Vann, Amy's sister, and Pam Nelson, Amy's mother, say that they are haunted by Amy's death and relive it each day.
Amy's family has conducted their own investigation. They have done the legwork, obtained statements and documented their findings. Although they believe they know who killed Amy, they don't have any evidence to support it. Family members put out a reward in the hopes that someone will provide a tip that will lead to the murderer's arrest.
According to Pam Nelson, Amy's mother, "We have our ideas of what happened based on the information that we've been given and the facts that we have, but not knowing the exact truth to have some sort of closure for our family trying to relive it every day and thinking of all these different possibilities of things that have happen, it's really hard,"
What happened to Amy Jo Nelson? She was a mother, sister and daughter. Family members miss her. If you have any information about this case, call Perry County's tip line at (740) 721 - 0898. You can also visit Amy's Facebook page titled Amy's Gift of Hope. The family is still offering a reward for information.

I spoke with a mother named Jennifer VanDalsen about her son Alex VanDalsen, a twenty-one-year old, who died under mysterious circumstances. Alex was born Jasmine Mckenzie Danaher, but planning on transitioning into a man. Therefore, I will refer to him as Jennifer's son throughout this story. At 15, Alex decided he knew he was a male and wanted to live as one. Throughout this episode I'll refer to the victim as Alex and use male pronouns. He lived in Lafayette, Indiana.
On February 3, 2021, it was a cold and snowy Indiana evening. Alex left home before midnight for unknown reasons. He did not tell anyone where he was going. On February 9th, two thousand twenty one, Alex was found dead. His death was ruled a suicide without any investigation.
Alex's family has taken issue with the ruling. Police told Alex's family that "There was no immediate sign of trauma on the body." However, it wasn't until Alex's body arrived at the funeral home that they discovered he died from a gunshot wound to the head. The family asked the detective why he said there was no trauma to the body when there was a gunshot wound?
It was less than twenty degrees when Alex was found 10 miles from his home. He also had asthma and wasn't dressed for the weather. Such treacherous weather would have made it impossible for him to walk ten miles. He would have died from exposure. Alex's family is certain he met with someone who knows what happened to him.
The family also had a concern about the actual bullet wound. I was informed the entrance wound was larger than the exit. As someone who fired weapons in the military, this isn't feasible. The exit wound is typically larger when leaving the human body.
The family also said Alex wasn't tested for having gunshot residue on his hands and the weapon wasn't checked for fingerprints. Also, Alex didn't own a gun, so where did this gun come from and who owned it?
There were also no shell casings. How could Alex kill himself with a gun and not leave a shell casing behind? And there was no blood splatter at the scene. If Alex killed himself, there would be a casing and blood present at the scene. Most likely Alex was picked up by someone, shot to death and then dumped where he was found. Unfortunately, law enforcement hasn't waivered from the suicide ruling.
Do you know what happened to Alex? Who did he go to meet on the night of his death? How did he end up dead 10 miles near his home? Supposedly, he killed himself. Problem is there were no shells or blood evidence. If have any information regarding Alex VanDalsen, please contact the Tippecanoe County Sheriff sheriff's department at 765-423-9388. And if you would like more information about this case, please visit the Justice for Alex Blake VanDalsen Facebook page.

On Oct. 4, 2018, Cameron boarded a flight to Billings, Montana to attend the wedding of a college. The same day, he attended a bachelor party at a rural property. On Nov. 5, 2018, other attendees of the party left the rural residence to drive into town, and returned around midnight.
When they returned, Cameron was not where they claimed to have left him. Partygoers claimed Cameron continued to drink at the party and then went to sleep outside. A group of men then went into town leaving Cameron behind.
When the friends arrived back to the property, they didn't see Cameron. They thought he had found different accommodations. Cameron would never be seen alive again. Yet, no one called the police or the family immediately after Cameron vanished. And when he didn't show up for the October 6 wedding, everyone knew Cameron was in trouble.
Cameron never showed up for the Oct. 6 wedding, for which he was supposed to be a groomsman. The ceremony and reception continued as planned, according to Marion. On November 3, 2018, Cameron's body was recovered from Pryor Creek.
On Nov. 3, 2018 – nearly one month after he was allegedly last seen alive – Cameron’s body was recovered from Pryor Creek. Although the circumstances of Cameron's death were suspicious, law enforcement immediately closed the case and claimed Cameron was intoxicated and wandered into the pond where he drowned. The problem was there was no water in his lungs. How does one drown without water being in the lungs?
The official ruling by the medical examiner was an accidental death due to cold water immersion in association with cocaine and alcohol use, according to the report.
Also, there was blood on Cameron's clothing and someone had placed sawdust inside Cameron's clothing. The sawdust was allegedly placed on Cameron to breakdown the body faster. Cameron's finger was cut off and his college ring was taken. And the boots recovered from his body didn't fit him. So where did Cameron's boots go?
The Collin family said law enforcement has refused to re-open the case as either a homicide or undetermined. Family members believe Cameron was the victim of foul play and his body was thrown into the creek.
If you have any tips about Cameron's death, please forward them to his family through their Facebook page titled Cam Collin Updates. They will then forward the tips to law enforcement.

On June 4, 1988, Mary Morgan Pewitt, 25, was found murdered. Over 30 stab wounds were found on her body. During the early hours of the morning, Mary Morgan Pewitt's mother, Elizabeth Morgan, was returning the girls to Mary after after an overnight stay. No one answered. Amber, Mary's youngest daughter, peeked into her mother's bedroom window. Her mother lay dead on her bed covered in blood. She had been stabbed 30 times.
The case remains unsolved three decades later, and has the distinction of being Comanche's only unsolved murder.
The beginning
Mary had been married three times, the first being at the age of 16. There were two more marriages (Tim Allen and Stan Pewitt). The second ended in divorce and the third was heading in the same direction. Money was tight for Mary. She had been injured while working in a nursing home. This limited her employment options.
Prior to her murder, she was working at Harold's Club, the only bar in Comanche, Oklahoma. Mary closed the bar on Friday night, June 3, and brought the receipts to the owner's home. She then went home to 611 N. 10th Street, where her boyfriend Randy was already waiting for her. He told police that they watched TV and he left at 12:45 a.m. that morning. Kira, Mary's daughter, told me he left to play video games with his 8-year-old son.
Someone entered the home after Randy left and stabbed Mary in the neck and upper chest. In an attempt to defend herself, she suffered wounds to her arms and hands. Although she was found in a t-shirt, underwear, and socks, the autopsy showed she had not been sexually assaulted. A first cousin of Mary's, Becky Pentland, says the family refuses to let this case remain a cold case. Rebecca Pentland grew up with her cousin, Mary Morgan.
"She was just a world of fun. I just love her so much...I thought of her as a little sister."
According to Pentland,
"This wasn't like a gunshot or something like that. She was basically butchered and slaughtered. She was stabbed over 35 times. I want them in prison and paying for what they've done." Pentland added, "She was a very loving and giving person and she did not deserve this. She loved her daughters, she loved her family. They need to pay. They need to pay for what they did."

This week’s story involves the homicide of a 23 year old Montana man named Randy Church . It was a cold winter day back in February 1985. Randy Church worked at Pizza Hut. He was also a Montana State University student.
While closing alone, an unknown killer entered the Pizza Hut restaurant, shot Randy to death and stole just under $1,000.00. Randy’s parents were heartbroken and died before ever finding out who killed their son. However, there may be a silver lining in the clouds because there is also DNA on this case. I am hopeful that law enforcement can test it and find a donor.

A coworker told him he needed to finish a project before giving the Bobcat to Joseph. The coworker said Joseph tried to remove the driver and jumped onto one of the wheels of the Bobcat, slipped and fell. He was then ran over.
Although there were different witness statements, several accounts claimed Joseph and his coworker got into an argument over the Bobcat. This led to the coworker getting angry and shoving Joseph, who then feel and was then killed by the Bobcat. The coworker would end up giving four different accounts of what happened. In one version, he claimed they were just playing around and Joseph was accidentally killed. Joseph’s mother Adrienne told Dateline she does not believe her son just slipped off the machine to his death.
The Maryland State police ruled the death an accident. And this didn’t sit well with Adrienne.
Although no criminal charges were filed against the coworker, Adrienne vowed to fight for her son. Adrienne began her own investigation. Eventually, she learned that a state medical examiner named Dr. Ali had received additional evidence and ruled the case a homicide. He contacted law enforcement and then wrote, “As the death was caused by the action of another person, the manner of death is best re-classified as a homicide.”
However, The State’s Attorney for Baltimore County, Scott Shellenberger, said, “there will be no further inquiry, no arrest, no grand jury, no trial, no criminal charges” in Joseph’s death. This was after he received notice of the case being reclassified as a homicide.
For some reason, Prosecutor Scott Shellenberger has refused to prosecute Godwin.

This week’s story involves the unsolved homicide of a 17 year old Georgia teenager named Blake Chappell. It's been 10 years since teenager Blake Chappell vanished after attending a homecoming dance with his girlfriend, only to be found dead months later. The case remains cold today.
Blake’s mother Melissa Chappell, is devastated over the loss. Even after ten years, she struggles to get through life without her youngest son. The memories of October 15, 2011 still haunt her. She said Blake was so excited about attending homecoming with his girlfriend. He then planned on staying overnight with a friend.
After the dance, Blake called his mom to check in. He told her he had the best time of his life. Before she hung up the phone, she remembers telling him she would see him the next day. Unfortunately, this would be her last conversation with her beloved son because he vanished and was never seen alive again. He was last seen in the morning hours of October 16, 2011.
Blake had left his friend’s house to visit his girlfriend. He then sneaked in through a window. The girl’s grandmother overheard the young couple talking and then woke up the girlfriend’s mother. They were angry at Blake for sneaking into their home in the middle of the night. Blake left his girlfriend’s house and began walking back to his friend’s house. He would never make it.
Then in December 2011, two months after Blake’s disappearance, Melissa received the call no parent ever wants. Blake’s body was found in a creek in East Newnan. He’d been shot to death and was only wearing his underwear. His killer had taken Blake’s clothing, wallet and cellphone. None of these items have ever turned up. Blake’s phone, wallet, and clothes were never found.

This week’s story appeared on an episode of ID Discovery’s Still a Mystery. It was featured on episode 11, season two, about the story of a young woman who was murdered and then dismembered. Trish Danielle Haynes was a 25-year-old woman who became involved in a domestic abuse relationship. They lived together in a New Hampshire town called North Woodstock.
The couple dated off and on between 2014 and 2017. After 3 years, Trish contacted the police and filed a complaint against her abusive boyfriend. He begged her to drop the charges. She gave in and agreed to drop the charges. Unfortunately, by dropping the charges, the police charged Trish with filing a false police report. Trish had returned to Florida to stay with her grandmother Sandy, who had raised her. Trish was then summoned to court in New Hampshire to face charges for the false police report.
Trish returned to New Hampshire and stayed with a friend named Becky who lived near Cardigan Mountain State Park. Trish got restless and wanted to leave. She reconnected with a former classmate named Ashley Smith. Ashley and her husband, Doug Smith, lived in Grafton, New Hampshire. The Smiths offered Trish a place to stay while she waited for her court date. On January 28, 2018, Becky gave Ashley a ride to Citgo gas station to meet with Ashley and Doug. Trish left with the Smiths and returned to their home. Unfortunately, no one would ever see Tricia alive again.
In September 2018, law enforcement found some of Trish’s remains inside a combo washer and dryer unit in Grant’s Pond. Someone had murdered and then dismembered Trish. During the investigation, law enforcement would learn that Ashley and Doug Smith both had lengthy criminal records.
Law enforcement quickly descended on the Smith home, looking for evidence of the grisly crime. Today, Ashley and Doug Smith are both suspected of killing Trish. It’s believed that Trish Haynes died on May 18, 2018. Since Trish’s death, witnesses have come forth to the family and told law enforcement and Trish’s family horror stories of how Trish was tortured and abused while staying with the Smiths.
A friend of the Smiths said Trish was always at the residence, but then one day she vanished. Ashley claimed Trish had run off to another state with an unknown man. If you do research on this case or in the backgrounds of Ashley Smith (formerly Ashley Ruff) and Doug Smith, you will find many details about their criminal past. For this story, I spoke to Trish’s cousin Carey, her great aunt Valorie and Chloe, who knew both Ashley Smith and Trish.
If you have any additional information about this case that could help the family of Trish Haynes get justice, please contact the New Hampshire State Police at 603-271-3636. And if you would like additional information, please visit the Justice for Trish Haynes FB page.

A grieving mother named Donna Augustine reached out to me and asked if I would share her son’s story.
The Augustine family lives in Ulster County, New York. Donna told me Steven is a twin. Donna also has a daughter. At 32, Steven lived at home with his parents. Donna considered Steven a wonderful son. He looked after his parents, took care of their home, yard, and automobiles. He also had two sons he loved more than anything. He worked long hours so he could provide for his young sons.
On May 28, 2018, Steven Augustine left work and walked home. He was attacked near a Kingston bakery. The beating was so brutal, Steven barely survived. Authorities arrested a career criminal with a lengthy record named Charles Miles. The beating left Steven permanently paralyzed and on a ventilator. He live for another 23 months and remained confined to a hospital bed until his death. Donna expected Charles Miles to face serious charges for nearly killing her son. She became angry after learning Miles would only be charged with a misdemeanor and not a felony. He only spent 72 days in the county lockup before authorities released him.
The Augustine family became angry. How could Steven’s assault only be a misdemeanor? They assumed that since Miles already had a lengthy criminal record which warranted serious charges.
Former Ulster County District Attorney Holley Carnright refused to charge Miles with a felony. He claimed Miles didn’t intend to harm Steven. According to Carnright, “The injuries to his face were consistent with a single punch. He also said the fracture was caused by Steven falling down backwards.
I have seen pictures of Steven’s injury. Half of his skull was caved in from a blunt weapon and not a fall. Medical staff removed the left side of Steven’s skull. Donna is now fighting to get justice for her dead son. A local news station interviewed Carnright, and he insisted he couldn’t charge Miles with a felony.
Donna wondered why the authorities weren’t going after Miles for more severe charges. According to Donna, an investigator told her that Charles Miles worked as a trusted police informant for many years. She now believes that’s why Charles Miles hasn’t been charged with additional crimes after Steven died.
Donna is determined to fight for her son. She wants to see Charles Miles get prison time for his part in Steven’s death. Although Steven died nearly two years after the assault, he would still be alive had he not been nearly beaten to death. Steven loved his sons. He should still be alive and spending time with them.
Steven died alone with none of his loved ones to comfort him.
If you have any additional information about this case that could help Donna Augustine get justice, please contact the New York State Crimestoppers @ (866) 313-TIPS. I would also like to make a special request on behalf of the Augustine family. They need an attorney to help them prepare a legal strategy to get justice for Steven. If you are an attorney in New York and can help this family, please email Donna Augustine at Donnaaugu12401@gmail.com. This week’s story involves a long and arduous journey for a woman named Fran Kubes. She has been trying to get justice for her sister Anna Marie Mullin who was brutally murdered nearly 40 years ago.
After her discharge from the Air Force, 22 year old Annamarie Mullin returned to civilian life and began enjoying life. She was a regular at the Caboose bar in Wilton Manors, Florida. She knew everyone and everyone knew her. On November 6, 1982. The young woman noticed a stranger in the bar. He wasn’t a regular and no one knew him. Annamarie sat next to him and engaged in a conversation with him.
He then began buying her drinks. She became intoxicated. At 230 am. Annamarie left the bar with the man who had bought her drinks. He said he would give her a ride home. Annamarie waved to the remaining customers and said goodnight to them. Little did they know, they would never see their young friend alive again. She would be dead within several hours.
A few hours later at 7 am, members of the St. Clements Catholic Church began arriving for mass. What they saw would shock them. A dead woman was found on the front steps of the church. She had been raped, beaten and strangled. It was a horrific and brutal killing. The Wilton Manors Police Department soon arrived on the scene to investigate.
The dead woman was identified as Annamarie Mullin from Ashland Massachusetts. Just a few hours earlier, she had left the Caboose bar and now she was dead. Her case has remained unsolved for nearly four decades.

This week’s story involves the death of an 11-year-old boy named Christopher Aaron Morris on September 25, 2000. Christopher and his sister Ashley McCarthy were Army brats. It’s a term of endearment used to reference the children of military personnel. Christopher lived with his dad in military housing in Wichita Falls, Texas at Sheppard Air Force Base.
On the day of September 25, 2000, Christopher was off from school. At 11, his dad felt he was mature enough to be home alone. His father came home around 11am for lunch. He then left an hour later. He would then leave work early and arrive home around 2 pm. When he came home, Christopher wasn’t there to greet him. He then began looking for his son. When he looked in his room, he saw dish racks from the dishwashing machine in Christopher’s room.
He immediately went to the dishwasher. He saw Christopher’s clothing piled up next to the machine. When he opened the machine, he found his son’s body inside the machine. Not only was Christopher deceased, but someone had turned on the machine and ran an entire cleaning cycle.
From this point, the mystery began. After authorities arrived, they immediately accused Christopher’s dad of killing his son.
Allegedly, Christopher was sexually assaulted, tortured, murdered, and then someone ran his body ran through a full cycle in the dishwasher. I would assume this was done to remove evidence. According to Ashley, Christopher’s sister, none of this is true.
What happened to this young man who played football and loved playing with legos? Do you know what happened to him? If you have any information about this case, please contact the Wichita Falls Police Department @ 940-761-7792

This week’s case occurred in Houston Texas. The potential victim was a young mother of two who was found deceased inside a locked tattoo shop.
For this episode, I interviewed Tiffany Hicks, a grieving mother who just lost her 27 year old daughter Tailor Marie Clark under mysterious circumstances. Tailor was an entrepreneur who had developed her own salve for people with tattoos. She planned on marketing her product through various tattoo shops. The product was called Tailor Made.
On September 17, 2021, Tailor arrived at a Houston tattoo shop called 59 Ink. She planned on speaking to the owner about carrying her tattoo salve. She also wanted to get another tattoo and another one touched up. While at the tattoo shop, Tailor kept in touch throughout the evening with her boyfriend and mother.
Eventually, things got strange. Tailor’s boyfriend received a message referring to him as Daddy while Tiffany received a text from Tailor stating that she was dead. Tiffany assumed it meant her daughter’s phone had died. After all communication between Tailor, her boyfriend and Tiffany ceased. Tiffany and Tailor’s boyfriend believed that someone else was sending messages on Tailor’s phone pretending to be her.
By 2 pm, on the following day, which was Saturday September 18, 2021, Tailor’s step brother and one of his friend’s drove to the tattoo shop. One of the tattoo artists pulled up. The stepbrother and his friend said they were looking for Tailor. The three men entered the tattoo shop and found Tailor’s lifeless body in the backroom lying on a couch.
What happened to Tailor? Why was she found deceased inside a locked tattoo parlor? If you know anything about Tailor’s death or saw something unusual, I am asking you to please contact
the Harris County Sheriff’s Department @ 713-967-5700 or Crime Stoppers @ 713-222-TIPS. Tailor's family will also be putting up a dedication page on Facebook titled Justice for Tailor.

For the 100th episode, I interviewed JoAnn Lowitzer, who is the mother of 16-year-old Alexandra “Ali” Lowitzer, who attended Spring High School in Spring, Texas. Ali was active in art, choir, softball, and Girl Scouts. But Joann’s life changed forever on April 26, 2010. It was just like any other day for the Lowitzer family. Allie had asked her mom for permission to walk to the Burger Barn and collect her paycheck. She also wanted to see if she could work that night.
Joann originally said no, but Ali begged and pleaded. She had never walked to her job before and it was only a short distance from her home. Joann finally gave in and gave Ali permission to walk to her job after school. Ali got off the bus that day at 3pm and then began walking to work. She would disappear and never be seen again.
Allie vanished 11 years ago. There have been no tips or any information about her whereabouts. JoAnn told me she still hopes that her beloved daughter is still alive. JoAnn has worked with a PI who received a tip that Allie was a victim of sex trafficking and might be in a trap house in Ohio. JoAnn told me the tip didn’t lead to anything significant.
Do you know what happened to Ali? Her mother is still hoping she can find out what happened to her daughter. Unfortunately, as the days pass, it reduces the odds of Ali ever being found alive. JoAnn said that whenever she hears about an unidentified body being in the area, it concerns her because she knows it could be Ali.

This week’s story occurred in Littlefield, Arizona in 2018. Jerry and Susan McFalls, both 62, were retired and owned a home in West Jordan, Utah and a second home in Littlefield, Arizona. Family said they often travelled between homes. Before they went missing in January 2018, they told family they were leaving Littlefield and returning home to West Jordan. But they never made it back home.
The local sheriff’s office served a search warrant and visited the Littlefield home to find out what happened to the missing elderly couple. The house was unlocked and their two dogs were inside with no food or water. Deputies found a purse, wallet and cellphone left on the kitchen table. It was as if they had just both vanished. There was a witness who saw the couple climb into an SUV that has never been located.
On October 18, 2018, the remains of two unidentified people were located in the desert near the Virgin River Gorge in Arizona. Authorities identified the human remains as Jerry and Susan McFalls, a West Jordan couple who went missing over three years ago. The Mohave County sheriff’s office announced someone had murdered the couple. For this episode, I spoke to Bob Hutchinson, the nephew of Jerry and Susan McFalls who shares his thoughts on Jerry and Susan's unsolved homicides.

On the morning of December 23, 1974, Lisa Renee Wilson, 14, Julie Ann Moseley, 9, and Mary Rachel Trlica, 17, travelled to the Seminary South Shopping Center in Fort Worth, Texas to do some shopping. Julie was the sister of Renee’s boyfriend, Terry Moseley.
Rachel and Renee had initially planned to go shopping with Terry, but he had made other plans. Julie wanted to go along with them, but was told she needed permission from her mother. She was able to get permission, but was told she needed to be home by 6:00pm. Renee was excited about attending a Christmas party that evening with Terry and wanted to be home early to get ready.
At 12:00pm, the girls visited the local Army/Navy surplus store to get some jeans Renee had on layaway. They then drove to the shopping center and parked near Sears .
Witnesses would later claim they’d seen the girls inside the mall throughout the afternoon. However, it’s never been confirmed. Keep in mind this was the 70s. Most young girls had long straight hair. And since it was Christmas time, the mall would be full of teenagers out for Christmas break.
Rachel’s Oldsmobile was found in the parking lot around 6:00pm. It was locked, and there was single present on the backseat floorboard. However, there was no trace of the girls or any indications of a struggle. Nearly five decades later, no one has ever seen the girls again.

I was recently contacted by a woman named Mirya Glover, who is Ernestine Hurt's granddaughter. In 1982, Ernestine was brutally stabbed at 202 E. sixth street in Cincinnati, Ohio. Unfortunately, Ernestine would later die in the hospital from her wounds. Ernestine has just become another crime statistic. Other than her granddaughter, barely anyone remembers her.
For many years she has tried to get justice for her beloved maternal grandmother. Mirya was just a child when her grandmother was brutally murdered. She told me the loss devastated the family. Mirya’s mother experienced homelessness and became involved with abusive men.
Mirya told me there was a former Cincinnati police officer who may have an idea of who could have killed her grandmother. Mirya said her uncle was a snitch who gave information about drug deals and other local crimes to a Cincinnati police officer. The uncle had enemies who may have wanted to retaliate against him by killing Ernestine.
There are no details about the killer. A witness claimed it was possibly a black man who stabbed Ernestine. But the witness wasn’t sure. Today, Mirya is the lone person seeking information about her murdered grandmother. She has pleaded with Cincinnati police and the FBI for help. But neither have given her any useful information leading to her grandmother’s killer.

This week’s story is about a young woman who reached her breaking point and decided she no longer had anything to live for. She reached out for help many times, but instead of receiving help, she was met with disdain and even hatred.
Nicole Burnham wanted to pursue a career after she graduated from high school. She joined the National Guard and then went active duty and became a full-time soldier. Although her parents weren’t happy with their daughter’s decision, they supported her.
Her mother said her going to the military would be the worst decision she had ever made. She was sent to Camp Casey in South Korea on April 15, 2017.
Life in South Korea wouldn’t be a positive experience. After an accident that left her with a severed finger, she was then sexually assaulted. In June, a group of fellow soldiers held Nicole down, assaulted her and then took photos of her. Nicole’s mother told me it wasn’t an actual rape, but damn close.
She would also be sexually harassed non-stop by a group of the same 4 or 5 male soldiers. One asked her to have a three way sexual encounter with him and his wife. Another soldier asked her when was it going to be his turn to get a piece of that. Another incident involved a soldier shoving a wrench into her rectum with enough force that it ripped her pants.
Nicole requested an immediate transfer back to the states. She was terrified and felt alienated. She told her mother she had become an outcast after telling on her abusers. Nicole said people just avoided her and didn’t speak to her. She would end up having to wait 82 days before she could return back to the states.
Fort this week’s story, I spoke to Stacey Burnham who is the mother of Nicole Burnham, the young 21- year-old soldier who left us too early. After being sexually harassed and tormented, she felt like killing herself was the only way out of her nightmare inflicted upon her by her fellow soldiers in the United States Army. On January 26, 2018, shortly after her 21st birthday, Nicole hanged herself using her military belt in her room at Fort Carson. Today, her parents and brothers still live with the agony of knowing the Army didn't do enough to save Nicole.

Bobby Glenn Ford was 28 when he died. He was found deceased in his home on April 13, 2011. An unknown killer had entered Bobby’s home on that morning and shot him in the head. When police investigated the homicide, they learned that Bobby was growing marijuana in his home.
Based on my conversations with family and friends, the Indianapolis Police department think his death may have been over a drug deal gone bad. However, those close to Bobby don’t believe this. They have stated that he was likely murdered by someone close to him for more personal reasons.
This case is unusual. There is no information about it anywhere. If you do an online search, it’s almost as Bobby Ford never existed. There are no pleas for justice, no local media stories or any local news videos covering the story.
For this story I spoke to Bobby’s sister April Hudson, Emily Nixon and Mike McBride. Emily and Mike were two of Bobby’s closest friends. Both loved him and are angry that his homicide isn’t solved.
If you know anything, his family is requesting that you call in a tip and help them get justice. Bobby has 3 children that deserve answers. If you would like to know more about Bobby’s story, please visit the Justice for Bobby Ford FB page. And if you know anything about this homicide, you can report an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.

This week’s story involves the homicide of a 26-year-old aspiring entrepreneur in his Dallas Texas apartment on February 19, 2020.
Although Hosia Abdallah Jr’s life began with much difficulty, he refused to let it stop him from achieving his goals. When he was 10 years old, he witnessed his father being murdered in front of his grandmother’s home. Hosiah’s mother, Natasha Johnigan described her son as a high-spirited person and an active father who loved to help others.
Hosia graduated from North Garland High School and then attended ad graduated from Grambling State University. He was a father of two who loved his son and daughter. His mother said he had a phenomenal relationship with his children.
On February 20, 2020, Hosiah and his roommate were home in their apartment. The roommate had just returned from work and was getting into the shower. He heard someone knock on the door and a woman’s voice. He then heard gunfire.
Someone had shot shot and killed Hosiah in the kitchen of his apartment around 11pm and then fled. The roommate didn’t witness the crime because he climbed out of the bathroom window and ran to his vehicle when he heard the gunshots.
His mother said “It was someone he trusted that he let inside the house,” Johnigan said.
“Somebody that was close to my son did this and me, the family and the friends will not sleep until that person or persons are caught,” she said. ”I’ve heard so many stories. I haven’t heard specifically from the roommate who said he was there and jumped out the window. It was somebody close to him. I know God is so good and he’s so faithful. Justice will be served.”
Three people have since been charged with killing Hosia Abdallah Jr. since this recording.

This week’s story involves the brutal 1971 triple homicide of three men in Indianapolis. On Dec. 1, 1971, a man named John Karnes hadn’t heard from his friends Robert Hinson and Robert Gierse. He visited the residence at 1318 N. LaSalle St. to check on his friends. What he found was horrific.
Someone had murdered Indianapolis businessmen Robert Hinson, 30; James C. Barker, 27; and Robert Gierse, 34. Their hands and feet were bound and their throats had been cut. They were nearly decapitated.
Marion County coroner, Dr. Dennis J. Nicholas believed the victims were held by their hair to extend their necks and then cut from ear to ear with a knife. Death was almost instantaneous. Indianapolis P.D. had a difficult investigation that lasted many years. There were many suspects and various motives for the three killings.
In 2001, authorities received a confession from a man who had already died. The confession was left in a safe deposit box and to be given to authorities upon his passing.
The letter read, “These two men I killed in their beds by cutting their throats and there was another guy who wasn’t supposed to be there but I had to kill him too because he showed up,” the letter continued. “Ted was supposed to pay me when he got the insurance money but he kept putting me off because he said he had lost some money, but he said he would pay me as soon as he could." “The paper said that a yellow Oldsmobile was seen at the place where I killed them but it was really my yellow Plymouth Road Runner. I buried my boots because the tracks they found ‘em ‘cuz I knew they could match up on the prints on my boots.”
For this story, I spoke to retired Indianapolis police Captain Robert Snow and also Mary Duke who was the daughter of Carroll Horton, the man falsely accused of the murders. They discussed the homicides and how a false accusation affected an innocent man. Snow wrote a book about this homicides titled Slaughter on North LaSalle. The title is available on Amazon.com and all major book suppliers.
