A Podcast Connecting Kinesiologists This podcast was made to learn about Kinesiologists in different areas of work and learn about their journey. The goal of the podcast is to get a conversation going about how Kinesiology can be used in different areas of work. Each episode we will bring on a new guest with lots of experience as an R.Kin and listen to their unique perspective. As kinesiology grows as a profession it is important to learn about how other Kinesiologists are changing their practice, moving into different positions or working with other professionals.

    In this episode I interview Fabian Rayne. Fabian is the President and CEO of FabYourLife Inc., a multidisciplinary health and wellness company in Markham, Ontario. Fabian graduated in 2000 with an Honours Degree in Kinesiology At Western University.

    Fabian has been practicing as a Registered Kinesiologist with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario since April 2013. Recognized for his leadership and dedication to his field, Fabian has served on the Board of Directors for the Ontario Kinesiology Association. Fabian is also bringing his knowledge to the classroom as an Instructor at the University of Guelph-Humber.

    In this episode, we talk about playing in the CFL, wanting to own a business and looking at Kinesiology as a continuum.

    Michelle Jacobs, R. Kin - Family Health Team

    Michelle Jacobs is a R.Kin and a CSEP Clinical Exercise Physiologist working for the Kincardine Family Health Team (KFHT). Michelle graduated from Brock University with a Bachelor of Kinesiology (Honours) in 2013 and then Niagara College graduate program Exercise Science for Health and Performance in 2014. It took a few years for her to get where she is at the KFHT and each step taught her something about what she wanted out of her career. Her role at the KFHT is to provide exercise prescription for the variety of rehabilitation programs offered as well as run health promotion programs. Working with such a wide patient population challenges her to use many of the skills she has learned over the years. She finds the work very rewarding when her patients make a lifestyle change that helps to manage their overall health. Michelle has truly found her dream job!

    In this episode we talk about being "more than an assistant", helping the community at large and moving outside of the box.

    Richard Bucciarelli, R. Kin - Sports Scientist

    Richard Bucciarelli, MS, B.Kin., R.Kin, CSCS, CSEP-CEP, USSF “A”, is a professional fitness coach, sports scientist and coach educator, and the owner of Speed Training, a sport-specific strength and conditioning company in Toronto. Richard has worked at some of the highest levels in the sport of soccer, both in Canada and internationally, including the Canadian National Women’s Soccer Teams and the Toronto FC Academy. Richard is presently completing his PhD in Human Health and Nutritional Sciences with a specialty in biomechanics of speed and acceleration training in soccer players, at the University of Guelph (expected 2021). He also works as a Professor in the Fitness and Health Promotion program at George Brown College, and in the Faculty of Kinesiology at the University of Guelph-Humber.

    In this episode, we talk about the missing piece in sports science, why he still has his R. Kin designation, and how the best investment you can make in your career is education.

    Jane Gage - R.Kin - Developmental and Disability Management

    Jane completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo. She is registered with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario, a member of the Ontario Kinesiology Association and Canadian Kinesiology Alliance with certification in ABA from the Geneva Center for Autism as well as certifications with CCAA, Yoga Instruction, BoneFit and GLA:D. She has facilitated movement programs with individuals who are living with chronic illness and disability since the inception of her career. Jane has a passion for helping individuals, young and old, reach their health goals and potential.

    In this episode, we talk about coming back to your purpose, working with developmentally challenged adults as a kin and following your passions.
