A lot of books, articles, and podcasts about entrepreneurship revolve around productivity, operations, leadership, and systems, but one aspect is rarely discussed: our inner language.
The way we speak to ourselves and about our business plays a major role in our success. We speak words influenced by our subconscious minds, therefore, we become what we think and the thoughts we have become our reality.
Today's episode is about the words that every entrepreneur should avoid using. It’s not easy to remove them from our vocabulary, but as entrepreneurs, our first commitment is to make ourselves better. Don’t worry, I’ll give alternatives as well that will benefit our business teams, customers, and most importantly, our mindset.
Ready to elevate you and your business? Come on, and let's dive in.

After finishing her Masters of Arts in Economic Development in the United States, Orit spent a few years working for some international organizations. In 2008, after getting married to a fellow Harrar native, she moved to Dubai where she and her husband continued to establish their business in the UAE and start a family. After having three children and raising them for a couple of years, she decided to reconnect with the coffee culture she grew up with.
Boon Coffee, a company that started off as a “one roasting machine and a box of cups” now supports thousands of coffee farmers based in Ethiopia. Orit’s decision to source Ethiopian coffee - arguably the best coffee harvest in the world and geographically very close to the UAE - formed a strong link between hardworking farmers and consumers who are very particular about the source of what they consume. The company recently added a B2C component to their business by introducing two cafes in Dubai.
Orit loves being in Dubai and is proud of her product as well as a brand that has traveled not only through the GCC but also all the way to Europe and the United States. In this episode, she walks us through the challenges and stereotypes she’s had to confront as a result of being an Ethiopian female entrepreneur.

Mon, 24 Aug 2020 - 12 - 10 Lessons I have Learned from 10 Podcast Episodes
I published my first episode five months ago. What a journey in producing this content and sharing it with YOU, this has been! Following a year and a half year of planning - and the pandemic - deliberation, thinking and dreaming, I was finally hitting the record button. It’s been an exciting start!
Why did it take me that long? Well, I could attribute this to a long list of excuses. Some of them included being too busy, not sure whether I’d sound professional enough, and not having enough time. Looking back, I realize these were excuses - not reasons.
As we approach 1000 downloads, this has been more of a learning experience than I would have ever imagined. If asked, I would attribute my podcast’s success to two things: dedicating one day of the week to podcasting (I have chosen Tuesdays for this) and having a set process.
All in all, I am still learning, trying to improve my craft, and thoroughly enjoying the process.
This episode is dedicated to sharing the 10 big lessons I have learned in creating the Elevated Entrepreneurs Podcast, and some of the things I have loved and loathed while trying to navigate the growth of this show.
Ready? Let’s dive in!

Welcome to a very special and bonus episode of the Elevated Entrepreneur Podcast! In the previous episode, which is episode number 8, I’m talking to Surbhi from Digital Genie and we are talking about ideal customers, personas, and how they’re so important to any business.
While we were recording that episode, Surbhi and I got to talking about her experience as a marketer, working for Ron Kaufman, the author of the Uplifting Service Series. I highly recommend these books if you haven’t had the chance to check them out as they’re amazing in learning how to better your service, especially if you run a business!
As I was talking to Surbhi, I was awestruck at how large businesses and authors like Ron Kaufman, manage their marketing, their customer personas, and profiles, and it was just amazing to listen to the size and scale at how they manage those. Which is why I wanted to share this special behind-the-scenes episode.
The main episode again can be found at https://elevatedentrepreneur.fm/8 and if you haven’t already listened to that episode, I invite you to take a listen because that episode too has some amazing content for you.Find more information at https://elevatedentrepreneur.fm/8b

since she was a kid. Growing up in that environment, she was taught how to seek an
opportunity and turn it into a successful business. Warsha has run and sold two
businesses to date and is reaping the rewards of her third one in Dubai.
Despite being an expert in the field and having a solid grasp of the industry, Warsha has
also sought the help of a business coach herself and believes that learning should be a
continuous process. Warsha talks about the entrepreneurial mindset, the top 3 golden
rules in growing and scaling a business, the qualities of being a great leader, some
book recommendations and a lot of great advice on how to cope with the current
pandemic.

In this episode, M'OISHÎ founder and CEO, Carole Moawad, tells us how she was able to grow her business idea into a multi-store business in just three years. After discovering mochi, a delicious, Japanese handcrafted dessert, Carole realized how this well-loved product is available in other parts of the world, but had not been introduced and popularized yet in Dubai. With that opportunity, she decided to launch this product line locally, giving it a new twist, building a solid branding around it and was able to develop and branch out to at least 16 shops in UAE, slowly making waves in the online markets as well.
As Carole discusses the challenges in starting a business from scratch, she also talks about strategy, growth mindset and how they were able to launch a brand new product line right through the COVID-19 pandemic.

The right cloud-based POS system for your business can be a game-changer.
Today’s online programs are so powerful that they can manage almost every single aspect of your sales. Many of them can integrate with other software programs to handle everything from accounting to customer service, and they do it all via a streamlined, secure and easy-to-use interface.
But this comprehensive functionality can also make committing to the wrong POS an expensive mistake.
Onboarding for any new solution takes time and energy, regardless of how user-friendly the system is. You’ll need to learn how to set it up properly, train your staff on how to use it, create internal procedures and processes around its use, and customize it for your business needs. That all takes time, which distracts from your main operations. In this Podcast episode I share the 4 important questions you should ask before you buy the software.
