Welcome back everyone to another episode of the Nurse to Nurse podcast-straight talk with the two skilled nurses Kevin and Starshema!   Nursing is considered a hard job and their work stresses can have negative effects on health and quality of life.    In today’s episode, we are going to help you understand the stressful environment nurses experience every day.    But first, let us ask you a question, “Is being an ER and ICU nurse the same?”   You probably know that there are different roles in the healthcare facility as an ER Nurse and ICU Nurse that most people would find hard to respect speciality.    How medication works for all nurses also differs from their experience. Take note that it's an important role of a nurse to educate patients about medications, dosages, and possible side effects. This also helps to determine if nurses had adequate pharmacology knowledge of the drugs they administer.    We also talked about how you manage stress and what you could have done to be able to get back on track and save lives. Although not all stress is negative, even positive stress can have a negative effect on an individual. Sometimes they get stressed about Patients and family members who demand, lack of needed resources to do the work, or even unsupportive workers.    Self-care is not optional in the nursing profession. Nurses can only care for patients if they’ve taken steps to take care of themselves. And he is deeply involved in Infusion Therapy and Vascular Access; as well as he served as the President for the Mid-Valley ENA for the past two years.    Kevin also volunteers his expertise for several ENA committees.   His specialties are Emergency Medicine, Trauma Critical Care, Infusion Therapy, and PACU. We can only see a few women who spearhead their brands. Seeing all these men can sometimes intimidate women. So, we end up putting on a “manly” front when it comes to business.    We tend to act too “competitive” that we often forget that we need to be real in who we are as a brand and as a person. Believe in your identity as a brand and as a person, and everything else will follow! Owning your success story  Most women are used to using “we” instead of “I” when talking about their accomplishments. Although that’s not a bad thing, it does show how using “I” can seem like bragging for most women when it’s not. It’s time that we acknowledge what we deserve. You hustled to get that dream.    You deserve to be recognized!  Fearing failure and failing publicly Failure may seem scary for everyone. Not having everything go to plan and being rejected can be stressful. But believing that these moments are the best teachers will help us in bouncing right up.    Mistakes happen, and sometimes we make poor business decisions.
