Show Notes Hello and welcome to the first episode of The Worth 1000 words podcast. So here’s the gist. We’re looking for some great, listener submitted, photographs. We’ll pick several each month to be used as writing prompts. Writers can select one, or more of the photos and craft a short story based on the images. Once the stories are crafted you can submit them to us here at Worth 1000 Words Podcast and we’ll pick our favorites to read live on the show! That’s it, sounds simple and fun right? Now I know the name of the podcast is Worth 1000 words, but we don’t want to be too limiting to your creative processes. So we’ve decided to allow writers a maximum of 3000 words to tell their stories. This gives you a chance to flesh out your stories if you’re so inclined. Of course this doesn’t mean we won’t accept stories of less than 3000 words. We’re up for anything, as long as it is an actual story. Beginning, middle, end, and all that. So what else happens if your photos and/or stories are chosen? How about an interview right here on this show? One of the things I find fascinating about writing and photography is the behind the scenes process of how the artist creates. We’ll talk about your process and what inspired you to either take your photograph, what post processing, if any you used, and what kind of other photos you enjoy taking, or why you chose a particular photo as a prompt, what genres you enjoy writing in and a slew of other fascinating information about yourselves. If you have work or books for sale on your own sites or Amazon or Smashwords or wherever, we’ll include links in the show notes to those as well.
