  • 8 - Ayé ń lọ, à ń tọ̀ ọ́.

I debated adding a soundtrack to this episode because I wasn't ready to show you this part of me. I didn't feel it was great because I have never delivered a whole piece in Yorùbá. But I know better. I promised to show you all of me, and this is also a part of me. This part of me struggles to connect with her culture in this saturated world she lives in. This part of me desperately seeks for simplicity because the pursuits of this world are too complicated. This part of me wants to be free. This poem talks about the insignificance of life; how humans huttle about doing nothing in glorified importance. If you are human, take this as a cue to rest. Are you really living the life you want, or the life you inherited? Here's to more Yorùbá poetry! 🥂 P.S - No, I don't want to translate this poem. I don't want to translate it because it wouldn't be the same in English; English waters it down. Please just enjoy it. ❤️
