Building a career in that field meant navigating a world dominated by men and learning to embrace the ups and downs of a job that doesn't exactly boast "stability" as one of its selling points.   • 4 - #4 – Yvanna goes to Vegas… and gets political

    Yvanna Cancela planned to join the Peace Corps after college, but decided at the last minute to move to Las Vegas instead. Years of working for a union there taught her how important it is to fight for the rights of citizens and workers. That turned out to be good training when, in 2017, she was appointed to the Nevada Senate. She was just 30, and Nevada's first ever Latina Senator. ~~~ Yvanna says if you’re a women and you’ve ever had an inkling to run for office – now’s the time to do it!     Meghan knew she was kick-starting grown-up life when she got married just after graduating from college, but was deeper into adulthood than she expected when she and her husband quickly added two kiddos to their life. ~~~~~ Meghan knew one thing when she finished college: she wanted to spend the rest of her life with her boyfriend. But after getting married and moving to Brooklyn, their little duo grew quickly-- first with a daughter, then with a son. Somehow, a round-the-clock work schedule and scrappy budget cohabitated with grad school, volunteering, and now, in her 30s, world travels with teenage kids.
