Tue, 12 Sep 2023 - 1h 24min - 161 - Coming soon: The Joy of Trek!
Your humble hosts will soon return for an adventure through the vast constellations of Star Trek's decades on TV, especially the lesser-loved stories!
But instead of bitching about why they’re bad, we’re going to find the joy in each of them, because everybody loves the great episodes, but it takes dedication, insight, and hard-working fools to love the clunkers too.
And by Jove, we are those fools!
Positive, inclusive and optimistic (though not uncritical!) we try to find the brilliance even in the least-loved episodes of our favorite TV shows.

Farscape 4·22: Bad Timing
When the Scarrans discover the wormhole to Earth, the crew of Moya must beat them there and find a way to stop them. Failure means certain doom for the human race, but could the cost for success be too great?
“Out of the frying pan into the fire,
Scarrans heading to earth, situation dire.
Closing the wormhole, the only solution,
Harvey's words shake John's resolution
Dominar Rygel saves the day,
Pilot puts himself in harms way
Wormhole crash, last words garbled,
Moya's crew lose their marbles..” (thanks Marky See!)
“Emergency trip in extended starburst,
With all this bad timing, we must be cursed.
Puncture the bubble.
What a cute couple.
Quick! Stop the scarrans from getting to Earth!” (thanks Ric From The Delta Quadrant.!)
“Voyeurism, cucking and bondage -- and that's just one scene! The race is on, he holds the hummingbird feeder, rules the galaxy! ” (thanks Mark Nixon!)
“Since John made the mistake of telling Jenn'ik about Bird of Paradise, he must now figure out a way to protect Earth. To do so, he must insist the help of the only being who can see the wormhole form. Will this member help? Will Earth be safe? And will Aeryn say yes or no? “We gotta get outa here, before they realise.
Another lunatic with the wrong number of eyes.
Throw a tantrum,
Destroy the Crystherium,
Leaving a bomb in an elevator seems unwise.” (thanks Ric From the Delta Quadrant!)
“Guess what I did at work today, I wore a bomb in a field of flowers... It's not a double cross, It's a triple cross! It's plan E for Elevator, and it has nothing to do with wormholes, despite Harvey's claims. There are sore losers all round and the crew forget to vote” (thanks Marky See!)

Sheriff D'Argo says hello in sign language to a nosy Karen while he and Wrinkles go for a cruise. Sputnik gets the cold shoulder from Pilot, and Scorpy heats things up between him and an old flame. "Farscape 3·22: Dog With Two Bones: Part 1
The crew attempt to pay their respects, while Crichton has visions of what could be, which lead him to a pivotal choice...
“Someone gets distracted by their fantasies. An old woman appears aboard the ship and everyone questions who she is. She sneezes magical fairy dust and is seemingly great at cooking. In the meantime there is a game of bumper ships occurring.” (thanks GoingMetal799!)“The crew make plans to go their separate ways, but before they can they must attend a funeral where an unwanted guest is making a scene, meanwhile John's imagination runs wild...hey is the old woman with you?” (thanks Marky See!)“A wedding and a funeral, but which one is real? Crichton struggles to reconcile two dreams, and a mysterious old woman offers better living through chemistry. ” (thanks Nazzy!)“Well ep 3:01 was called Season of Death and you can count on one hand how many main characters didn't die or start off dead this season. Wedding bells are ringing...or are they? Who is that old woman? And another perfect suggestion from Claudia Black when things get left to fate.” (thanks Lucy !)“A wedding, a funeral, a coin flip, a farewell, a wormhole - and who the frell is the old woman?” (thanks the Mezzanine!)“Sunday! Sunday! Sunday! Come to the Leviathan burial grounds! Two Leviathan enter, only one will leave. It’s the Grudge Match of the quadrant. Will the mystery masked Leviathan reign supreme or will Mama Moya bring the hurt to him for dising her son Talyn. Only one way to find out, this Sunday! Sunday! Sunday! ” (thanks Blackrain (Bryan Love)!)“Who's that woman with the dream powder? Lies are nice, but the truth is louder, A burial place, The Sacred Space, "Listen Wrinkles, stick to the chowder!"" Scorpius, growing more desperate by the minute, hopes to force John's hand by threatening Earth. Unable to lead the Peacekeeper scientists' research astray, John rallies the crew to help him destroy the Carrier itself -- and discovers that Crais' allegiances are not at all what he expected.
“Time is running out for Grasshopper causing him to make a deadly promise. The crew hatch a plan so bad, it can only be theirs and a farm boy's betrayal leads to an act of true heroism and a new indoor water feature. Does the captain always go down with his ship?” (thanks Marky See!)“Sometimes a banana in the tailpipe just isn't enough. Flying wormholes ain't like dusting crops, it takes a little finesse, but it is a real Kodak moment. They're sucking juices out of 'Red', If we don't stop them, she'll be dead, What happened last night?, Are the girls alright?, I don't believe a word you've said!” (thanks Ric from the Delta Quadrant!)
“lt's Fear and Loathing in Las Lomo! An expectation of relaxation quickly faces disintegration when intoxication, profligation, and illicit medication cause distraction and disorientation, allowing abduction, and subjugation. Without much preparation (and in spite of inebriation), our heroes undertake an investigation to discover their shipmates' location and, hopefully, secure their emancipation. Despite Pilot's disinclination, John attempts an explanation regarding their unscheduled reunification, but his disjointed recitation draws a hostile accusation of intentional obfuscation barring recohabitation.” (thanks Jenna!)“
Isn’t it find how tales after the bender get blown out of Proportion?!” (thanks The Derp Prime!)
“While exiled from Moya, John and D'Argo party hard, and wake up in a storefront. Jool and Chiana are used to create a sex drug, and the guys must save them by pretending to be rich bidders. And D'Argo meets Harvey.” (thanks Billy Roberts!)
“The crew gets more than they bargained for when they get kicked off the ship onto a planet designed for pleasure. Featuring Tim Curry level thigh-highs, an alien voyeur, extract of ecstasy, and a fitting end to a loathable villain.” (thanks Redshirtwookiee!)
“Welcome to space Vegas, but in this case what Moyas crew does on a beach-vacation-planet does not necessarily stay on a beach-vacation-planet. Watch in delight as an erotic Farscape fanfiction gets turned into a full canonical episode. Who will pass the taste test?” (thanks MatthewB!)
“The gang cuts loose while on mandatory shore leave in space Vegas and have a morning we can all relate to. The only hangover cure? Flash backs, Dutch angles, and trying Pilot's patience. Look out for Praying Mantis voyeurs, dance offs, somehow familiar pick pockets, makeovers, and big comfy chairs. And yes, he looks as good in fish nets as you imagined.” (thanks JoolCase!)

Talyn's passengers find their baser urges irresistible during a struggle to save the ship from a star's mesmeric pull.
“Things get spicy when the crew goes crackers teaching Talyn about the danger of too much sun exposure, but at least Aeryn gets plenty vitamin "D." ” (thanks Jenna!)
“With the ghosts of hell and heaven, Icarus's attempts are less than seven, A Banik becomes Queen, So much sexy steam, And horniness dialed up to eleven.” (thanks Ric from the Delta Quadrant!)
“Shakespearean tragedy as our crew experiences some vices, wrath, lust, gluttony and pride. But only the half blind will lead, as a moth to a flame, from the pilot's den. ” (thanks Dreamscaper!)
“A siren calls for Talyn from inside a burning star. Meanwhile, Stark becomes Talyn's pilot, and the crew must face off against a lava man.” (thanks Billy Roberts!)
“Like odysseus crossing the sea, the crew has to rush to keep the ship from being drawn into a star. Featuring a spacial siren song, sensual stimulants, superfluous sections of the ship, and a smorgasbord of salty snacks.” (thanks Redshirtwookiee!)
“A Sun sings a song, while another Sun is into oral healing. Earth man is standing at attention! Lava's a many splendored thing, they say! ” (thanks MatthewB!)
