Mary chats with Olivier Melnick, a Jewish believer in Jesus from France, the son of Holocaust survivors and the grandson of one who was killed by the Nazis. He is an internationally known speaker on antisemitism. He holds a BA from Moody Bible Institute and a masters from Dallas Theological Seminary and  has been equipping believers to understand and fight antisemitism since 2000. He has written 5 books on the topic and contributed over 600 articles to print and digital media. He currently serves with Chosen People ministries as a US regional director and vice-president of their French work. We will catch up on the latest regarding the campus riots and how we find ourselves at this point. Antisemitism can uniquely spread around the world due to our global society; what happens in Israel can quickly be used against Jews worldwide. What will happen when the campuses break for the summer? Does it go to the streets of our nation? Are these students being groomed as future terrorists? What happens when hackers steal Jewish names from the internet? We may be in for much more terror at the hands of those who attend America's "institutions of higher learning" who have no frame of reference for Mideast politics, let alone the biblical foundation for Israel and the piece of land they have been given by God.

How do we get them to understand that it's all designed to destroy kids' hearts and minds? Is it a case of "at least I'm not on drugs, Mom" kind of reasoning? An in demand speaker and author, she founded Mission America, a Christian pro-family organization tracking current cultural issues. Mary welcomes back Chris Quintana live in studio to talk about a particularly troubling pulpit "curriculum" that teaches that the answer to spiritual maturity issues in the churches is "emotionally healthy spirituality". At the very least, parents should be empowered to choose how and what their children learn, whether it is through the public schools, private schools, or homeschooling. The recent pandemic shone a light on just how much the parents of government school kids had lost touch with what was going on in the classroom. We chat about the blueprint for removing federal mandates over education, and how to engage governors and state legislators on the issue. Believers are looking for the rapture - the ultimate Black Swan if there ever was one, of which humans have no control. Politically speaking, it could be the cancellation of elections, a limited nuke event, or comprehensive Middle East war. Good thing God is on the throne! With so much biblical illiteracy in the church, more people at looking at fictional representations and "what is right in their own eyes" to make a Jesus in their own image. Using the text of 2 Corinthians 11:3-4, we learn of Paul's concerns that his readers (including this generation) would find themselves beguiled and bewitched just as Eve was and their/our minds would be corrupted. We will look at some of the ways this can and will happen at an increasingly rapid rate. Are we willing to tell people that they "have the wrong Jesus" and explain what that means? It's not just the cults, such as Mormonism, that have the wrong Jesus.

Don Veinot and Ron Henzel talk to Mary Danielsen about the fallout from the Bill Gothard teachings of the 80s and 90s. Having clearly imploded from aberrant teaching and immoral behaviour,  it came to the fore in the recent documentary, "Shiny Happy People" which brought shame to the cause of Christ in a much larger public context. The children who were raised in it seem to be drifting toward deconstruct mode regarding their faith; some who wish to hang on to their faith have a long road of disentanglement ahead. So is there anything to be gained by exposing it today? What exactly was the ignition spark that brought this legalistic belief system into evangelical families in the first place? Cults - and legalists - are not just limited to extra-curricular doorbell ringers but they can and are in the midst of the church doing untold damage.

Their work, A Matter of Basic Principles, recently updated and re-released, is a difficult read but Gothard's influence on evangelicalism must be seen for what it is, an absolute tragedy that serves as a cautionary tale to the church.

Moody Center, talks to Mary Danielsen about balancing politics with the Great Commission and what it means to find our identity in Christ. More and more, Christians are allowing politics to shape their worldview and the practices of the church, causing divisions among the brethren. There may come a time that we need to ask ourselves if we have become disciples of a particular political tribe rather than disciples of Christ - at the very least measurable in the amount of time we spend on either.

In his thoughtful article, "Render to God what is God's: Reflecting Christ in Politics", James says, "When God's people take up causes, we run the risk of those causes distorting our vision of God. We run the risk of justifying our pursuit of the cause by making the cause an idol and tying God to it. When this happens, we no longer act as if we believe that His ways are beyond our ways, or that His thoughts are beyond our thoughts. God conforms to us. We then determine how the problems we face must be solved and God no longer directs. * Medical malpractice state statutory protection no longer applies when doctors commit crimes without the patient’s knowledge
* Medical malpractice insurance protection also no longer applies
* The statute of limitations on wrongful death claims is increased substantially
* Intentional torts facilitate punitive damages, so attorneys would be willing to take wrongful death cases on contingency

It depends on who you ask, but what truly matters is the approach parents take to make their decision on it. "I loved it as a child" does not serve the believer in Christ who must learn that having a Christian worldview requires filtering every decision through the lens of Scripture. Like all matters of conscience, there are no laws - but there certainly should be biblical sense and sensibilities involved. Current headlines are also in the mix, because while it's hard to keep up, we can at least take a shot at trying. Come let us reason together and add to our understanding of the times.
