It was another great Game Day in Boone Saturday. App State football turned in another strong performance yesterday defeating the ECU Pirates 43-28.  We saw strengths in all three phases of the game. We break them down and set the stage for our first plane ride of the season.

App State takes on an historic rival in Boone for the first time in 44 years. East Carolina seemingly struggling early in the season is always going to be a program to fear. We discuss the matchup with Steve Brown, Graham Fisher, and The Sports Objective podcast's Bubba Rosenbaum.

Arguably the most exciting three-game series imaginable. Either team could’ve won or lost all three. 

But while it was a great game, App State comes away from the loss.

App State football kicked off on an awesome Saturday and a packed house at KBS! The ultimate football drama unfolded as the backup QB came into the game after the starting QB went down with an injury. The twist? The backup did a phenomenal job. 

We break down the entire day from the early morning tailgate to the end of the game.

App State football game week is here!

We talk about the football season getting started and who better to have on the show than the head coach himself, Coach Shawn Clark. Coach gives us great insight into the team, the progress since the 2022 season ended, and the excitement around the team.

App State Defensive Coordinator, Coach Scot Sloan, visited us in January before Spring ball. Now he returns to review fall camp and the progress the defense has made since January.

App State football fall camp is still underway and the big question is still: Who's starting at quarterback? Who better to ask than a guy who has lived every stage of an App State QB. Zac gives his insight on what it's like to compete for the #1 spot at QB and what advice he'd give both quarterbacks during fall camp.

Historical episodes are our favorite and this is no different.  Charlotte Police Chief, Johnny Jennings, joins us to discuss his time at App State from 1986 - 1990.  Chief Jennings is in the App State HOF and has many great stories about those legendary 1980s App State teams and his App State fandom today. Former App State DL coach, Brad Lawing, joined us in December to talk about the beginning of what we now know as the App State football. We had a blast hearing stories from coach's time in Boone and how that entire staff viewed recruiting and how they built a powerhouse program. 

Unfortunately, Coach Lawing passed away on June 14th. To honor his memory and the period of time coach was so passionate about, we brought back Chip Sigmon who coached with Coach Lawing in Boone in the 1980s. It's a great tribute to a man who has had a tremendous impact on so many App State legends.

Dr. Truth, Steve Brown, returns with special guest, Brad Lawing. Coach Lawing was the DL coach at App State from 1983-1988 and part of some of the best App State teams ever. He spent time at South Carolina, Michigan State, North Carolina, Florida, and finally Florida State. 

Coach talks about how he was successful in his career with recurring and shared countless stories along the way. 

The World’s Most Famous App State Fan is on official clerk business this week so The Mayor, Noah Hannon, steps up to the plate and plays cohost this week on BGP!

App State Hall of Famer, Steve Brown, returns to BGP to discuss the state of the Mountaineer football program as he sees it today. It's a great discussion from someone who has been involved with the most successful eras of App State football over the past three decades. We also discuss App State basketball and the HUGE hire of Matt Greenhalgh as the new strength and conditioning coach.

App State football is over. Dale Jones is no longer with the program. Things feel weird. We talk about them.

Ultimately 2022 was disappointing. The highs were high. The lows have been low for App State standards.
