  • 64 - 'Domestic Terror: Intimate partner violence in South Africa' with Dr Nechama Brodie

Dr Nechama Brodie is a guest on this episode of the podcast with  Nongcebo Vukile McKenzie, talking about her latest book 'Domestic Terror: Intimate partner violence in South Africa'.

'Domestic Terror is a powerful book that sheds light on the plight of women who face domestic violence and the harsh realities they encounter when trying to protect themselves. In South Africa, intimate partner violence is the leading cause of
female homicide and often, the warning signs are ignored. The book delves into the stories of women who took matters into their own hands, refusing to wait until they were attacked to defend themselves. Despite being driven to extreme measures, these women are met with a lack of empathy and understanding from the very institutions that are supposed to protect them. Through poignant case studies, the author exposes the limitations of our systems and challenges us to rethink our approach to domestic violence.' SOURCE:  Exclusive Books
