Ex-president Trump will be back in a New York Courtroom tomorrow, Thursday, May 9, to once again face Stormy Daniels. The former president is accused of falsifying business records to cover a $130,000 payment to Ms. Daniels just before the 2016 election. Trump, who is 77, has denied the charges and says he did not have sex with Ms. Daniels. But he did meet her at a 2006 Lake Tahoe Golf Tournament.   If convicted, he could face prison time or probation.

The Supreme Court appeared sharply divided on whether Idaho’s near-total abortion ban overrides a federal law that protects patients who need emergency care. This case could determine access to abortions in emergency rooms across the country. In a lively argument, the justices’ questions suggested a divide along ideological lines and a possible split by gender on the court. Justice Amy Coney Barrett, a conservative, appeared skeptical that Idaho’s law, which bars doctors from providing abortions unless a woman’s life is in danger or specific nonviable pregnancies, superseded the federal law. The Supreme Court heard arguments in April, and a decision is expected sometime before July 1, 2024.

So far in the Trump New York Business - Election Fraud Hush Money Trial, Hope Hix has been the BEST LOOKING witness. She was called to testify by the Prosecution to explain what happened INSIDE the Trump Presidential Campaign after the infamous ”Access Hollywood” tape was made public. Why is her information important? One word: ”Motive.” Hicks, a one-time Model, began working for the Trumps in 2014. She worked for the Trump Organization under Ivanka Trump, the former president’s daughter, and Trump himself. Hicks joined Trump’s first presidential campaign in 2015 as press secretary. After Trump was elected, she joined the administration as director of strategic communications.

The United States Constitution includes no immunity provision for presidents. It expressly recognizes that a president is subject to criminal prosecution. PERIOD! The United States Supreme Court heard arguments in ex-President Donald Trump’s attempt to get Blanket Immunity for all alleged and potential Crimes. Here is what his lawyer told the Supremes Trump should be immune from prosecution for: selling nuclear secrets employing the U.S. military to assassinate a political rival launching a coup The shocking part of this is that the CONSERVATIVES on the Court, seem to agree with Trump. Opening Arguments in Donald Trump’s Criminal Business Fraud Case turned a bright spotlight on what Prosecutors call a ”Criminal Conspiracy” involving the former President, his attorney, Michael Cohen, and David Pecker, the well-known ex-publisher of the tabloid magazine, ”The National Enquirer.” Pecker, a former friend of the defendant, Donald Trump, was the first witness in the historic trial. He is expected to be on the stand for at least a few days.

In a rare Saturday Session, the United States House of Representatives approved a $ 95 Billion Foreign Aid Bill that the Senate will vote on Tuesday. The legislation provides military assistance for US allies around the world, including Israel, Taiwan, and Ukraine.  There is one man responsible for the votes that happened on Saturday, Speaker Mike Johnson. A conservative, hard-line MAGA Republican who vowed never to bring Aid to Ukraine to the floor for a vote without legislation to address the US Border Mess.  What’s the story behind Mike Johnson’s transformation? Where is the MAGA Mike we knew? The Food and Drug Administration approved the so-called Abortion Pill after years of research and extensive clinical and medical Trials. It’s been used for Decades efficiently and relatively safely. The use of the Abortion Pill increased after the Supreme Court overturned Roe Versus Wade. Roe was in place for 50 years; it protected women’s right to an abortion by ruling that Women have a ”Right to Medical Privacy” under the Constitution! Women lost their Right to Privacy when the right-wing, Catholic, majority on the Court killed Roe. Now, Anti-Abortion Advocates are taking aim at the ”Pill.” And the right-wing, Catholics and religious Judges and Supreme Court Majority are ready to outlaw the Abortion Pill. The Supreme Court heard arguments Tuesday in a case that could reinstate restrictions on the abortion pill mifepristone and sharply roll back access to the drug nationwide. But the Case is Flawed. It hinges on a groups of Doctors, Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine (AHM), who say the Abortion Pill could violate the rights of doctors who do not want to perform abortions. They use a Hypothetical Argument that if a woman is having complications after taking the Abortion Pill, it would harm the Doctor’s ”Conscience” to treat that woman. It’s a weak argument. And it sounded like the most of the Justices, even the Catholics weren’t buying it. But you never know. Because the case is weak, some of the Justices helped the Anti-Abortion Lawyers during Arguments. They recommended that ”Next Time” they should used the ”COMSTOCK ACT OF 1873.” Whick prohibits using the United States Postal Service to mail ”obscene” materials. HINT-HINT! And one of the Huge problems if the Supremes rule Against the Pill and The FDA is that Other Drugs, life-saving drugs could also be Outlawed. A motion to Dismiss and Disqualify Fulton County, Georgia, District Attorney Fani Willis was filed on January 8, 2024. After weeks of hearings, allegations, and testimony, Judge Scott McAfee issued his decision on Friday, March 15.  The Judge ordered that DA Willis could stay on the case, but Nathan Wade, the man she hired to be Special Prosecutor and who became her lover for a few months, had to go. THE STATESMAN - THE SHOWMAN AND THE BORDER CRISIS - WHERE IS CONGRESS? Watching the current President and former President at the U.S.-Mexico Border, in different locations and with different people, but on the same day, highlighted how different Biden and Trump are. Biden is a Legislative Nerd. After years in the Senate, that’s how his mind works. And Trump is Marketing, thinking about his Message. The two presidential candidates have different approaches to solving the border crisis. Biden is working to get the Comprehensive Bi-Partisan Border Bill passed. Trump wants no such thing. But he is refining his ”catchy border slogan.” Experts agree that ”Executive Action” to ”Close the Border” by President Biden would be challenged in the courts, as it was under Trump and overturned. It is the case that is making presidential history. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg was the first to Indict a President, and now it looks like it will be the first criminal case to move forward to a trial. Jury selection is scheduled to begin on March 25. On Monday, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office asked a judge to impose a gag order on former President Donald Trump before his upcoming trial. Trump has been charged with falsifying business records related to a 2016 hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels. This case also involves Karen McDougal, a former Playboy Model, who claims she had an affair with Trump from 2006 to 2007. She received $150,000 from The National Enquirer for a story that was never published. The DA says the ”Partial Gag Order is about SAFETY＞ Prosecutors want Trump barred from commenting on witnesses and jurors in the case. What should have been a celebration for President Biden turned into a ”Media Feeding Frenzy” about his Age and Memory following a personal, poorly written report by a Republican Special Counsel. The Good News is that Biden was cleared of wrongdoing for retaining classified documents. Trump continues to act like a wanna-be Dictator. In a sweeping, legal rebuke, the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit denied Donald Trump’s appeal for Immunity from Criminal Prosecution. At least temporarily.  “For the purpose of this criminal case, former President Trump has become citizen Trump, with all of the defenses of any other criminal defendant,” the panel wrote. “But any executive immunity that may have protected him while he served as president no longer protects him against this prosecution.” Trump’s claim that he was immune from prosecution on charges of plotting to subvert the results of the 2020 election, means he must go to trial on a criminal indictment accusing him of seeking to overturn his loss to President Biden. While this is a significant defeat, Trump is sure to Appeal to the Supreme Court.

Three of the four Trials former President Donald Trump faces this year made news last week.  The Federal Election Interference Case in Washington, D.C. was delayed. Court officials are waiting for a decision from the D.C. Court of Appeals on Trump’s claim that he can’t be prosecuted because of Presidential Immunity. Because this was delayed, the ”Pay-offs to a Porn Star” Case in New York could be back on Track. The Documents Case in Florida had a significant filing by Special Prosecutor Jack Smith, who also met with the Judge. And, of course, the Georgia Election Interference Case had a deadline of last Friday. Feb. 2 on a Motion to Dismiss from three of the defendants.      That Motion accused Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis of being involved in an ”inappropriate relationship” with one of the Special Prosecutors she hired to assist her in the case.  You can watch a YouTube video I’m producing for more on this story. It begins with a Campaign Video that proclaims that Trump is ”God’s” Candidate and that he was created to fix our country. Here is an excerpt from the article. “We’ve got a crooked country,” run by “stupid people,” “corrupt,” “incompetent,” “the worst.” Trump, in the gospel according to Trump, was the victim of “hoaxes,” “witch hunts,” “lies,” “fake indictments,” “fake trials,” judges who “are animals,” a “rigged election,” “rigged indictments,” and a “rigged Department of Justice where we have radical left, bad people, lunatics. The nation’s capital, Washington, D.C., “is a rat-infested, graffiti-infested shithole,” he said, with swastikas all over the national monuments. His opponents, the prophet Trump continued, are “Marxists,” “communists,” “fascists,” “liars, cheaters, thugs, perverts, frauds, crooks, freaks, creeps,” “warmongers” and “globalists.” Immigrants are like a “vicious snake,” whose “bite is poisonous,” he told them, and there is an “invasion” at the border by “terrorists,” “jailbirds,” and “drug lords.” “Our country is dying,” he informed them. One of Trump’s co-defendants in the massive Georgia Racketeering Case accuses Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis of engaging in an ”Inappropriate” relationship with Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade, whom Willis hired. The co-defendant, Mike Roman, wants the charges against him dismissed. Judge Scott McAfee has scheduled a February 15 hearing on that Motion for Dismissal. That Motion to dismiss offered ”No Proof” of wrongdoing. Trump quickly seized on the allegations and sent out a fundraising e-mail. And while Willis has not yet responded directly to the allegations, she did talk about the burdens of the case and the constant threats to her life and the lives of her family members. For the second time in the last nine months, Writer E. Jean Carroll Testified before a jury about being sexually assaulted by Donald Trump. But this time, she was telling her story in front of the former President, who has been found liable for attacking, harassing, and defaming her. The Jury will determine how much money to award E. Jean because Trump has already been found guilty.  There was another twist to this Hearing: Trump, loudly and with flourishes of hostile ”body language, made it clear how unhappy he was with the trial and the testimony.  The Judge, Lewis Kaplan, made it clear that Trump needed to quiet down, or he would be thrown out of the courtroom. Ironically, the Iowa Caucuses are falling on the Day we all need to remember Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., A man who fought and died for racial equality and voting rights for all.   All the media attention on Iowa is focused on Republicans. White Republicans. Donald Trump fans.  President Biden changed how the Democratic Party holds its Primary and the Iowa Caucus.  Why? He thought it would be better for the Country to focus on states representing a diverse group of Americans instead of predominately White Iowa.  Biden is campaigning in South Carolina. THE TRUMP TRIALS 2024 - Donald Trump is gearing up for a year of multi-tasking in 2024. He is running for President, and he is running away from 91 Felony Counts in various State and Federal Courts. In addition to the Criminal Charges, Trump is fighting to keep control of his business empire in the State of New York, and trying to defend himself in the E. Jean Carroll Defamation Case - Part Two. There are some key dates in this month alone, including a DC Appeals Court hearing on his Election Interference Case, where he claims he has immunity and has asked that the charges be dismissed. And hanging over all this is whether the United States Supreme Court is going to step in and rule on the 14th Amendment, Section Three. Repeating and Openly Embracing Nazi Rhetoric - Trump Marches into 2024 as millions of his followers applaud him. And Republicans remain Silent!  Former President Donald Trump repeated his Immigrants are ”Poisoning our Blood” mantra as he tries to scare voters into supporting him. The phrase is directly from Hitler’s autobiography. And it worked for that short, mustachioed, psychotic dictator in Germany in the 1930s.

The Headlines are everywhere: The Washington Post: ”A Trump dictatorship is increasingly inevitable. We should stop pretending.” The Nation: ”This is How Trump Becomes a Dictator.” The Guardian: ”The US could be under a rightwing dictator.” Vanity Fair: ”Trump Makes it Clear He’d be an Out and Out Dictator if Reelected in 2024.” The Atlantic, The New York Times, and, of course, TV News have all written and produced stories that lay out how Trump’s people plan to Hijack our Republic and change our form of Government from Democratic to Dictatorship. Today, some of Trump’s allies pushed back on social media. Senator JD Vance wrote, ”Everyone needs to take a chill pill.” Those seven words aren’t comforting when all you have to do is log on to the PROJECT 2025 website. You can find a visible step-by-step plan to reshape the executive branch of the US Federal Government if Republicans/Trump wins the Presidential Election. The plan includes consolidating the power now shared by three branches of Government into a stronger Executive Branch. Hmmm? Rewriting the Constitution to destroy ”Separation of Powers?” It sounds very ”Dictator-leaning” to me. COLORADO, THE CONSTITUTION, AND TRUMP ON THE BALLOT OR NOT?  The answer to the question is unknown at this moment in time. We know that a Colorado Judge ruled that Trump engaged in an Insurrection. That same judge ruled that he can remain on the ballot. But the case is now going to the Colorado Supreme Court on Appeal.  That hearing will take place on December 6. Whatever is decided there, the final decision will rest with the U.S. Supreme Court.  This case is going all the way. Here is a headline from the New York Times, ”After Calling Foes ‘Vermin,’ Trump Campaign Warns Its Critics Will Be ‘Crushed’ The former president’s Veterans Day speech used language similar to the dehumanizing rhetoric wielded by dictators like Hitler and Mussolini.”  This is from NPR, ”What we have witnessed from Trump over the last few weeks is something new,” said Robert Jones, founder of the Public Religion Research Institute, or PRRI. ”Trump has crossed into the domain of Nazi ideology openly.” It’s not like the Trump for President Campaign is trying to hide the ”Former Guy’s” desire to be a 21st-century American Hitler. A judge ruled last week that Donald Trump, his two sons, and his corporation are guilty of lying about what his property is worth. Justice Arthur Engoron’s decision found Trump committed “repeated and persistent fraud” on his financial statements, known as SFC’s, by overvaluing properties that enabled Trump’s company to rise to a worldwide brand. That civil trial begins today, Monday, October 2. But the trial only determines Penalities because the court has already found Trump Guilty.

Of all of the Georgia 18 and all the charges, the three that hit me in the gut were the defendants charged with harassing election workers, Ruby Freeman and her daughter Shay Moss. After all my years of working with election officials and covering election day stories, the Election Worker holds a special place in the democratic process and my heart. It’s a thankless job, but thank goodness they do it. The horror stories Freeman and Moss told to the January 6 Committee were heartbreaking. The two Georgia Women were wrongly accused by Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani of stuffing ballot boxes and passing around illegal USB Drives.  Then the death threats followed. Giuliani has already admitted, under oath, that he has NO Evidence that they did anything wrong. Harrison Floyd, Trevian Kutti, and Stephen Lee are three people who attempted to confront the two election workers physically. A Grand Jury in Georgia indicted Donald Trump and 18 of his allies late Monday night. The former president and 18 other people who worked for him or supported him were charged with engaging in a ‘criminal enterprise’ to illegally overturn the results of the 2020 election in the state of Georgia. It is the fourth indictment of Trump this year - an absolutely unprecedented political and legal situation. It is a massive 98-page Criminal Indictment. Trump tops the list of other defendants but here are some stand-outs. He has been charged with 13 felony counts.  The criminal charges vary from defendant to defendant. We begin with former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani and former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows. Kenneth Chesebro and John Eastman, architects of the plan to use fake Trump electors to circumvent the popular vote, and Jeffrey Clark, a former senior official in the Department of Justice who embraced false claims about the election. This is the text from page 13-14 of the Indictment: ”Defendant Donald John Trump lost the United States presidential election held on November 3, 2020. One of the states he lost was Georgia. EXPLAINING GEORGIA -THE TRUMP ELECTION INTERFERENCE CASE Here is what we know: Two Georgia Grand Juries are meeting in Atlanta this coming week, August 14 - August 18.  Witnesses have been subpeoned to testify.  Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has made it clear she is ready to bring her case to the Grand Jury. We also know that the forewoman of the Special Grand Jury has said that there will be multiple indictments. And those indicted are ”Well-Known.”  At least 20 pepole have been informed that they are ”targets” of the Georgia Investigation.  DA Willis needs two days to present her case. Then the Grand Jury will vote. Ron DeSantis or Donald Trump -  Is It INEVITABLE THAT ONE OR THE OTHER WILL FACE BIDEN? NO! According to Conservative Columnist George F. Will.  This is the headline in The Washington Post on July 14, 2023, ”Neither Trump nor DeSantis will get the GOP Nomination.” In this episode of Political Woman, I share Will’s Opinion piece and throw in some of my own.

Trump has the right to remain silent. But it’s not happening. Quite the opposite.  Here is a chronological account of the Protective Order request. On Thursday: When Trump was arraigned, the Judge Magistrate told him this. “It is a crime to try to influence a juror or to threaten or attempt to bribe a witness or any other person who may have information about your case, or to retaliate against anyone for providing information about your case to the prosecution, or to otherwise obstruct the administration of justice,” she said. The judge added a warning that if he violated the conditions of release, “You may be held pending trial in this case.” She then asked him: “Do you understand these warnings and consequences, sir?” Trump responded, “Yes.” On Friday, Trump posted, in caps, ’YOU GO AFTER ME, I GO AFTER YOU?” DOJ then requested a protective order. Trump’s people say the post was meant for political rivals. Federal Judge Tanya S. Chutkan set a Monday Deadline for Trump’s attorneys to respond in court. Trumps attorney’s did respond. Then Jack Smith responded to that response. The Judge wants to see them in the next couple of days. Background: Special Counsel Jack Smith requested a protective order before Trump’s post. Trumps attorney’s objected. This may be why the judge issued the warning. During the discovery phase of the Trial, the Trump Team will have access to witness lists and testimony. The protective order is for witnesses and jurors.

The Special Prosecutor, Jack Smith, charged Donald Trump with additional crimes on Thursday and indicted another Trump employee. Carlos De Oliveira, the Mar-a-Largo maintenance manager, is now charged in the case. The charges relate to the Classified Documents case in Florida. The Superseding Indictment includes allegations that the former President ordered his staff to erase close-circuit video files. Trump is also charged with another violation of the Espionage Act.

THE 2020 FAKE ELECTOR’S SCHEME - HOW IT WAS SUPPOSED TO WORK The Fake or Phoney Elector’s Scheme was attempted in seven States. They happened to be the States where Joe Biden won, and Trump narrowly lost. Those States are Georgia, Michigan, New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. The Scheme, hatched by Trump supporters in Washington, D.C., and those seven States, was to prepare fraudulent Electorial College Documents and Fake Electors. For this Scam to work, members of Congress and Vice President Mike Pence would have to block the approval of Joe Biden’s legal, genuine Electors and certify Trump’s Phony Slate.  That’s how THE 2020 FAKE ELECTOR’S SCHEME  WAS SUPPOSED TO WORK. TRUMP’S  LEGAL TROUBLES - A JULY UPDATE  The list of legal troubles for the former, twice Impeached president continues to grow. Trump is expected to be indicted for the third time and charged with Federal Crimes in connection to the January 6, 2021, Insurrection. In March, he was charged with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in New York State. These charges stem from alleged hush money payments to a porn star.  Trump made history with those charges. An American ex-president was indicted for the first time in our nation’s 234-year history. Less than three months later, he was indicted again on 37 felony counts for mishandling classified documents. Now Trump says he has received a Target Letter related to Jan. 6. The Tarnished United States Supreme Court is on Vacation, but before the gavel sounded for the last time until the first Monday in October, the Ultra, Conservative, Religious, and Righ-Wing, anti-women, anti-civil right Justices killed President Biden's Student Loan Forgiveness plan, they Set-Back Affirmative Action in Higher Education, they Blocked Water Rights for Native Americans and chipped away at Equal Justices and civil Rights for LGBTQ. They voted on a "Hypothetical Case" even though they refused to answer questions about Hypotheticals during confirmation hearings. And finally, they refuse to follow basic, fundamental Ethics Rules. Rules that every other Branch of Government is required to follow.  But there is some hope I can offer. Former President Donald Trump was Arrested Today, he was booked, electronic fingerprinted, and then appeared before a judge in Miami Federal Court.  He did not speak. His lawyers pleaded Not Guilty. Then he was released.  Also in court, Trump’s valet, assistant and co-conspiracy defendant Waltine Nauta.

A Federal Indictment has charged former President Donald Trump with 37 Counts of violations of criminal laws, including Willful Retention of National Defense Information, Obstruction of Justice, and Conspiracy. The charges relate to the boxes of documents moved from the White House to Mar-a-Lago Club in Florida. This is a quote from the Indictment: "The classified documents TRUMP stored in his boxes included information regarding defense and weapons capabilities of both the United States and foreign countries; United States nuclear programs; potential vulnerabilities of the United States and its allies to military attack; and plans for possible retaliation in response to a foreign attack. The unauthorized disclosure of these classified documents could put at risk the national security of the United States, foreign relations, the safety of the United States military, and human sources and the continued viability of sensitive intelligence collection methods." The Indictment comes after almost of year of attempts by the The National Archives to retrieve the highly classified documents and another six months of subpeoeas by the Justice Department to get them all returned. Trump's personal assistant, Walt Nauta has also been charged.  The Indictment includes pictures and audio recordings.    Trump has been ordered to appear in Federal Court on Tuesday, June 13.

TRUMP INDICTED BY A FEDERAL GRANT JURY! What happens now?  For the first time in the History of the United States, a former US President has been Indicted on Federal Criminal Charges.  A Grand Jury in Miami voted to indict Donald Trump late Thursday afternoon. Trump's attorneys were notified, and he was informed at about 7 p.m. Shortly after that, he posted videos and statements on social media sites. At the same time, his staff began blasting out fundraising e-mails and texts.  Trump has been ordered to appear in Miami Federal Court on Tuesday, June 13, at 3 p.m. If the charging documents are made public, I will share them on TikTok and YouTube. The Debt Ceiling Deal - President Biden and Speaker McCarthy have already begun making their sales pitches to Democrats and Republicans in Congress. The Debt Ceiling Bill's official name is "Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023.’’ It's a compromise that may only make one person in Washington happy.  That person would be Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen. She has been in the hot seat, warning and pleading with Lawmakers not to default on the massive debt. Congress must raise the Debt Ceiling to save the U.S. from default. Rudy Giuliani is being sued for sexual assault by a former employee, Noelle Dunphy. The $10 Million Civil suit, filed on Monday, May 15, in the New York Supreme Court, alleges Sexual assault, Selling pardons, and non-payment of wages.

Smith is responsible for the Jan. 6 investigation and the Classified Documents Case. The Wall Street Journal reported late Tuesday, just hours before Trump posted the letter, that the documents probe ”appeared all but concluded, with indictments anticipated imminently.” In this episode of Political Woman, I update the Stolen Classified Documents Investigation.

The Debt Ceiling - Is Default Coming? What does this mean to you? The United States is getting dangerously close to the Debt Ceiling Deadline. The U.S. Treasury Department warns that it is essential for Congress to raise the Debt Ceiling by June 1, 2023. But negotiations have stalled. Separating children from families is not a new atrocity. Other countries have done it, Russia, Cambodia, Germany under Hitler, and yes, even here. The United States Government allowed slave owners to tear families apart. And the US ripped Native American children from their parents and placed them in boarding schools. There they were abused, and many were killed, according to a Department of Interior report.  Recently, then-President Donald Trump ordered the separation of thousands of immigrant children at the U.S.-Mexican border. And during his phony Town Hall on CNN, he said he would do it again.  When minor immigrant children are found in the United States unaccompanied by a legal parent, the U.S. government places them in temporary housing before they are placed with American sponsors.  The New York Times published an investigative story documenting that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has lost track of 85,000 Migrant Children.  That story documents the abuse some Migrant Children are enduring.  This is the first of many stories I will write as we head into the Presidential Election.  Separating Children from their Families is one reason I will vote for President Joe Biden. We need immigration reform. And we must work together to stop Human Rights violations.

The once powerful man is now a joke, but he is also dangerous because, beneath his costume, there lurks a heart as dark as the devil's soul.  His power to entice and destroy puts the entire kingdom in peril. Instead of banishing the evil entity, those in power let him continue entertaining.  He takes center stage each night, to the delight of a few of with the most control.  In the end, all perished. But the ones who suffer the most are those that worked to return the evil king to power.  I'm trying to have a little fun here. Because listening to Trump and watching his Republican followers laugh and clap when he makes a joke of "sexual assault" is difficult and depressing. E.Jean Carroll Wins Her Name Back - Trump Found Liable for Sexual Assault and Defamation. After only four hours of deliberation, a Manhattan jury in New York found former President Donald J. Trump liable for sexually assaulting and defaming writer E. Jean Carroll. The jury of six men and three women awarded Carroll $5 million in damages. The jury dismissed the rape charge. A new Washington Post - ABC News Political Survey or Opinion Poll includes bad News for President Joe Biden. BUT!!! And it's a big BUT! The poll is worthless.  First, it is too earlier in the presidential election cycle to matter. The election is more than 18 months away.  And more importantly, less than one thousand registered votes were questioned. And of those who are registered, there were more people who Lean Republican than Lean Democrat. Not a good sampling.  It is good for only one thing. It allows me to remind all of you to "IGNORE POLLS!" And Vote.

Donald Trump's Rape and Defamation Deposition video was released, in part, on Friday, May 5. The Judge allowed the release of about 48 minutes of the former President's testimony on video. The New York Times is reporting on the Text Message that former Fox Host, Tucker Carlson sent to a producer. According to The Times, this text message, and possibly many more, led to the firing of Carlson, one of Fox's most-watched talking heads. Writer E. Jean Carroll spent two days on the witness stand in a Federal Court House in New York this past week. The civil case does not mandate that the accused, Donald Trump, be present during the trial. But he did post comments on social media. Carroll has accused the former president of rape and defamation. On Monday, April 24, Two Cable TV Personalities were Fired. Don Lemon worked for CNN. Tucker Carlson worked for Fox Corp. It appears it was just a coincidence that the two high-profile television talents were axed on the same day, just about an hour apart.  As different as they are, a similar thread runs through their careers. And how they acted is a lesson for everybody who communicates. That's all of us.

The Rape and Defamation lawsuit filed by writer E. Jean Carroll against Donald Trump goes to Trial this coming week. Jury selection will begin on Tuesday, April 25, in a Federal Court in New York. Trump's legal team has attempted to delay, delay, delay. But the Judge is not buying it. The case stems from an alleged attack in a New York department store in the mid-1990s. Carroll was able to sue Trump thanks to the New York Adult Survivors Act that extends the statute of limitations for sexual assault victims to sue the perpetrators for damages. New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg Sues Rep. Jim Jordan On Tuesday, Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg sued Republican congressman Jim Jordan to stop what Bragg called an “unconstitutional attack” on the ongoing criminal prosecution of former US president Trump. The lawsuit aims to block a subpoena of Mark Pomerantz, a former prosecutor who had led the Manhattan district attorney’s investigation of Trump. The subpoena, issued last week by the House of Representatives judiciary committee, which Jordan chairs, seeks Pomerantz’s appearance before the committee for a deposition. The Trials of Donald Trump - UPDATE on the Investigations as of April 10, 2023. The former president is facing multiple investigations into alleged criminal activity. In New York, he was indicted in the "Catch and Kill" Payoff case in Manhattan. The Federal Cases. The Department of Justice is conducting two investigations. Special Counsel Jack Smith is handling those two cases. On Tuesday, April 3, former President Donald Trump became the first man in the United States to be charged with a crime.  Never one to do anything small, Trump was charged with 34 Felony Counts of Falsifying Business Records. In addition to the Indictment document, which lists the charges filed against Trump, District Attorney Alvin Bragg also released a "Statement of Facts." This fascinating document tells the story of three successful men, Donald Trump, Michael Cohen, and David Pecker. They are the inventors of the "Catch and Kill Scheme."  The scheme involved a porn star, a Playboy Model, and a Trump Tower Doorman. For the first time in U.S. History a former President is being charged with a crime. Here is what we know: Trump will fly to NY on Monday. Stay overnight at Trump Tower. He will turn himself in to authorities on Tuesday morning with his attorneys and secret service detail. Special arrangements will most likely be in place because he is a former president. Once in the building, he will be booked. That includes: Being handcuff. He will not be handcuffed. Being fingerprinted. He will be. Mug shot. There is now reporting that there will NOT be a Mug Shot. At 2:15, Trump will appear for Judge Juan Marichan. The indictment will be unsealed, and the charges will be read. According to reports, Trump is facing 30 felony counts. He will enter a plea of guilty or not guilty. Trump is now scheduled to give a speech on Tuesday evening in Florida.

UPDATE: Today's school shooting in Nashville, TN., brings children under 11 years old to SIXTY  (60) child deaths by gun violence. President Biden called on Congress to pass the Assault Weapons Ban and other gun safety reforms.    There have been 117 Mass shootings in the United States this year. At this moment, there have been 9,488 Gun Violence Deaths in 2023. And it's not even April yet.  If you wait just a couple of hours, these numbers increase. The statistics are even more heartbreaking when you look at the number of children under 18 who are being killed by people shooting guns. Some of those deaths are the result of children killing other children.  So far this year, 385 Americans under 18 have died from gunshot wounds.  Five years ago, a group of GenZ's had had enough. They established the "March for Our Lives" Organization. Their goal is to lobby for common sent gun safety laws. The Stormy Daniels Donald Trump case involves a porn star, hush money, a one-time Trump Legal Fixer, and allegations of Campaign Finance Violations. It began in 2006 at a Golf Tournament in Lake Tahoe and may end in a criminal court in New York City. There are about two dozen civil and criminal investigations or lawsuits involving the twice-impeached, disgraced ex-president Donald Trump. They include allegations of illegal financial dealings, the unsavory quest for political power that sparked a deadly Insurrection, bribery, the theft of classified documents, pay-offs, slander, and lies.   One case involves a former porn star named Stormy Daniels and backroom deals and hundreds of thousands of dollars to keep her a secret. What are your thoughts on International Women’s Day 2023? With a war in Ukraine, the poisioning of girls in Iran, the death of two Amerian’swho were traveling in Mexico for a medical procedure, and the never-ending gun violence in our cities, I’m thinking we still have more work to do.

In March of 2021, Dominion Voting Systems filed a defamation lawsuit against Fox News Network. This is from that $1.6 Billion lawsuit. "Dominion contends that: (i) Fox intentionally provided a platform for guests that Fox’s hosts knew would make false and defamatory statements of fact on the air; (ii) Fox, through Fox’s hosts, affirmed, endorsed, repeated, and agreed with those guests’ statements; and (iii) Fox republished those defamatory and false statements of fact on the air, Fox’s websites, Fox’s social media accounts, and Fox’s other digital platforms and subscription services. Dominion seeks punitive and economic damages for defamation per se." At the center of this lawsuit is the "Big Lie." Even though there was no evidence of voter fraud or faulty voting machines, Trump supporters, including Fox News, repeated the lie again and again.  Dominion attempted to set the record straight, but Fox continued the lie. This caused Dominion to lose millions of dollars in business, damaged its reputation, and resulted in death threats. The First Amendment, Freedom of the Press, protects News Corporations. The bar to prove that News organizations commit defamation or slander is very high. It was set with a Supreme Court Ruling, "The New York Times v. Sullivan."  Dominion lawyers must prove that Fox News acted with Malice in this lawsuit. Some; legal experts are predicting Dominion could win.

The United States Supreme Court heard two cases on The Biden Administrations Student Loan Forgiveness Program this week. Biden Versus Nebraska ET. AL and The Department of Education v. Myra Brown. ET AL. At stake: $400 billion in student debt set to be forgiven by President Biden’s Department of Education. Up to 40 million Americans could see up to 20 thousand dollars of student loans canceled. I was a young reporter covering the California Delegation for Cox Broadcasting. She was a young Congresswoman from San Francisco. There are a couple of plans. Republicans are considering stealing your Social Security. How they pull it off is easy - The Debt Ceiling Vote. Every few years, Congress has to raise the Debt Ceiling. It is not a move that Increases Spending. It is required to pay for Existing Debt. Legalizes Mobile Gambling.  A Yes vote means you want more gambling. You want to be able to bet on sports games online and on your phone or in your home if you are 21 years or older. A No Vote means you are against gambling online. Indian tribes and affiliated businesses would operate gambling. This is the official language from the Ballot: Proposition 27 allows Indian tribes and affiliated businesses to operate online/mobile sports wagering outside tribal lands. Directs revenues to regulatory costs, homelessness programs, and nonparticipating tribes. Fiscal Impact: Increased state revenues, possibly in the hundreds of millions of dollars but not likely to exceed $500 million annually. Proposition 30 -Taxes the Rich - For Clean Air, Electric Cars, and Firefighting. Prop. 29 - Kidney Dialysis Clinics and Doctors On-Site. What does your Yes or No Vote Mean on Proposition 29? Here is what Proposition 29 is proposing. Clinics must have at least one doctor, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant during all treatment hours. Clinics must report any dialysis-related infections to the state every three months. Clinics must disclose who owns the clinic to patients. Clinics need permission from the state before closing or reducing services. Clinics can’t refuse to treat patients based on how they are paying for their treatment. A Yes Vote Means you want these changes to be made at Kidney Dialysis Clinics in California. Here are my Highlights of the final January 6 Committee's Investigation into the Attack on the U.S. Capitol: Unanimous Committee Vote to issue a Congressional Subpoena to Former President Trump to answer questions and share documents regarding his involvement in planning the attack on the Capitol. Video of Speaker Nancy Pelosi calling on the National Guard, asking the Governor of Maryland and Virginia to help. Trump secretly ordered U.S. Troops out of Afghanistan.  The F.B.I. and the Secret Service knew there would be an armed attack on the Capitol and failed to share the information. Speaker Pelosi threatened to Punch President Trump in the face if he showed up at the Capitol.
