  • 18 - EP16: "Healthy Alcohol" is an Oxymoron.

Friends! We're back with another solo episode. This time, we're talking (ranting) about the oxymoron that is "healthy alcohol."

There is no such thing as "healthy alcohol." Full stop. And yet, a quick Google search will pull up thousands of articles published by what we might assume to be credible sources; with lists and advice about the healthiest types of alcohol to drink. Many of them are even co-signed by healthcare professionals, like dietitians and nutritionists.

In this episode, we dissect an article that was recently published by Real Simple Magazine & written by a Registered Dietitian. I talk through my personal opinions about the article; I share some stats and highlights from recent research on alcohol & its impact on human health; I dive into the comments section of the post that Real Simple shared on Instagram and share my perspective about all the judgment happening on social media between drinkers and non-drinkers.

Let me know what you think!

  • 16 - EP14: Carrie May, Brave Retreats & ChicagoAF.

Friends! I'm excited to share our first guest interview of 2024 and first episode of SEASON 2.

In this episode of More Than Sobriety, we meet Carrie May. She is the founder of not one, but two sobriety-centered companies. The first, non-profit community Chicago AF. The other, adventure-based sober coaching company, Brave.

Carrie is a fierce advocate for the sober community & is constantly curating new experiences to socialize alcohol-free, from no-booze cruises in her hometown of Chicago, to adventure-based retreats in national parks across the United States. Carrie is also a Nurse Practitioner and mother of two teenagers, and I'm not sure how she does it all... but I'm thinking she might be the real-life Superwoman.

Listen in to hear us talk about Carrie's sobriety story, including marriage & motherhood, and all the latest on her sober events & retreats. Check out the social pages & websites below to learn more:
