In 1 Corinthians Chapter 11, the apostle Paul delivers a striking message about the consequences of certain behaviours among the Corinthians, suggesting a link between sin and sickness. However, it's important to note that not all sickness is attributed to sin.
A parallel can be drawn from the book of Numbers, particularly in Chapter 11, where the people's complaints about the food provided by God led to sickness and nausea due to their discontent.
In Numbers Chapter 12, we encounter another instance of sin leading to sickness, focusing on the consequences of having a critical attitude. Miriam and Aaron criticize Moses, particularly regarding his marriage to a Cushite woman, questioning Moses' authority and their own roles in leadership.
The Lord responds to their criticism directly, emphasizing Moses' unique relationship with Him, characterized by direct communication without the need for dreams or visions. Miriam is subsequently afflicted with leprosy as a punishment for her sin, highlighting the severity of the consequences of criticism and disobedience.
Moses intercedes on Miriam's behalf, pleading with God for her healing, emphasizing the importance of humility, repentance, and intercession in seeking reconciliation with God. Miriam's quarantine outside the camp serves as a tangible reminder of the seriousness of her sin and the communal impact of disobedience.

One of the most common characteristics of human beings is complaining. Christians are no exception. But have you ever wondered what God thinks about complaining? In Numbers Chapter 11, we find a classic case of people complaining, and we'll explore it today.The People's Complaint (Numbers 11:1-3):
The passage starts with the people complaining about their hardships, which angers the Lord. Fire from the Lord burns among them, resulting in consequences.Moses' Complaint (Numbers 11:4-15):
Moses hears the people's complaints and becomes troubled himself. He expresses his frustration to God, feeling overwhelmed by the burden of leadership.God's Response (Numbers 11:16-23):
God instructs Moses to select 70 elders to share the burden of leadership. He promises to provide meat for the people, despite their ingratitude.Provision and Plague (Numbers 11:24-35):
God bestows His Spirit upon the elders, and quail miraculously appears near the camp. However, before the meat is finished, a plague strikes the people as a consequence of their complaints.Lessons Learned:
- Trust God's Provision: God provides for His people, but discontentment leads to consequences.Leadership and Delegation: Moses learns to delegate responsibilities and seek supernatural solutions.Consequences of Complaining: Complaining leads to dissatisfaction and can have serious repercussions.Respecting Free Will: God allows us to make choices, even if they lead to harm, as a consequence of our free will.Avoid Stubbornness and Complaining: Stubbornness and complaining taint our character and relationships.

The Israelites embark on their journey from Sinai towards the promised land. This passage not only narrates their physical journey but also provides valuable insights applicable to life's journey.The journey begins with the lifting of the cloud from above the Tabernacle, signaling the Israelites to set out from the Desert of Sinai towards the Desert of Paran. This simple command signifies the start of their movement after about a year of camping at Sinai.
What follows is the detailed order of the march, delineating the sequence in which the tribes set out. This meticulous order reflects God's emphasis on organization and orderliness, reminiscent of Paul's advice for things to be done decently and in order.
Amidst the march, Moses extends an invitation to his brother-in-law, Hobab (also known as Jethro), urging him to accompany them to the promised land. Moses recognizes Hobab's knowledge of the terrain and values his potential contribution to the journey. This episode prompts reflection on the balance between seeking divine guidance and utilizing human wisdom and discretion.
Although Hobab initially declines the offer, the text implies that he eventually joins the journey, highlighting the significance of inviting others to join in life's journey and sharing the gospel with them.

Throughout the Bible, from the book of Numbers to the Book of Revelation, God uses an instrument called a trumpet. In Numbers 10, God introduces the use of the trumpet to the Israelites, and we'll explore its significance and potential relevance for Christians today.
The trumpets were used to:
Segment 1: Significance of the Trumpet
In Numbers 10, God instructs Moses to make two trumpets of hammered silver for specific purposes.- Call the community together for assembly.Signal the camps to set out and advance.Gather the people for battle when oppressed by enemies.Sound during appointed times, festivals, and offerings as a memorial before God.
Segment 2: Relevance for Christians
While the trumpet's significance in the Old Testament may seem disconnected from modern Christianity, it holds parallels in the New Testament. Paul's letter to the Thessalonians (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18) speaks of the Lord's return with a loud command, voice of the archangel, and the trumpet call of God, indicating the assembly of believers to meet the Lord in the air. Today, we embark on a study looking at the ancient practice of the Nazarite vow, as detailed in Numbers chapter 6. This special dedication to the Lord offers us helpful insights into voluntary and temporary commitments made for the sake of spiritual devotion and service.The Nazarite vow, originating from the Hebrew word "Nazer," meaning consecrated or devoted, involves a voluntary commitment to set oneself apart for God's service. It's a deliberate choice to do something extraordinary for the Lord, often for a specific period.
In Numbers 6:1-21, we encounter the details of this vow, from its requirements to its rituals for conclusion. Participants in the Nazarite vow undertake three key commitments: abstaining from wine and anything produced by the grapevine, refraining from cutting their hair, and avoiding contact with dead bodies.
As we explore these verses, we'll delve into the spiritual significance behind each requirement and uncover timeless principles that resonate with our journey of faith today.
The prohibition against wine symbolizes a separation unto the Lord, demonstrating a commitment to holiness and righteousness. While the vow may seem strict, it serves as a tangible expression of devotion and dedication to God's service.
Additionally, the requirement to refrain from cutting one's hair and avoiding contact with dead bodies emphasizes the Nazarite's consecration and separation unto the Lord. These actions signify a willingness to set aside personal desires and comforts for the sake of spiritual devotion.
Furthermore, the rituals for concluding the vow underscore the seriousness of the commitment and the importance of maintaining purity and dedication to the Lord. The offerings and sacrifices presented symbolize atonement for sins and complete surrender to God's will.
In applying these principles to our lives today, we recognize the value of voluntary and temporary commitments made for the sake of spiritual growth and service. While we're not bound by the Mosaic law, we have the freedom to dedicate ourselves to God in unique and meaningful ways.
Whether it's setting aside time for prayer and fasting, volunteering for a mission trip, or dedicating resources to support ministry work, we can all do something extra for God, just as the Nazarites did in ancient times.

In todays episode, we consider the spiritual significance behind the instructions outlined in Numbers 5:1-31, where we are called to maintain purity and holiness in our lives and communities.Just as we tend to the cleanliness of our homes, ensuring they are free from clutter and impurities, so too are we called to keep the temple of our hearts pure and undefiled. In Numbers 5, we find instructions given to the Israelites on how to maintain the sanctity of their camp and address matters of defilement.
This passage should prompt us to consider the importance of addressing sin and impurity in our lives, not merely on a surface level but with a deep commitment to holiness and righteousness. As followers of Christ, we are called to pursue purity in thought, word, and deed, safeguarding our hearts against the influences of sin and corruption.
Throughout the Bible, we encounter numerous exhortations to pursue holiness and purity of heart. His desire to present her to Himself "without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless."
As we journey through Numbers 5:1-31, we'll explore practical insights on how we can cultivate a lifestyle of purity and integrity, both individually and collectively as the body of Christ. One of life's inevitable tasks is finding where you fit in the world.. That feeling, I believe, is acutely felt especially as you transition from youth to adulthood. This can apply not only to choosing a career path but also to understanding your spiritual role. Every believer has a place in the Lord's work, but where do you belong? What is your function in the body of Christ?"In this episode we will be looking at the Book of Numbers, particularly chapters 3, which focuses on the tribe of Levi. While the book so far has been filled with various numerical data, our focus today shifts to understanding the service of the Levites. In the previous chapters, the Levites were omitted from the census, but now, their role comes to the forefront. Initially, God claimed the firstborn of every family for His service, but now, He designates a portion of a tribe, the tribe of Levi instead. This change marks a pivotal moment in the organization of priestly duties among one tribe of Israel. Within the tribe of Levi, we find there are three prominent families: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. Understanding these names is key to understanding the Levites' service, so let's explore their roles in the broader context of the Lord's work."
Just as Nadab and Abihu faced consequences for their disobedience, we too must heed God's commands and approach His service with humility and reverence. So, whether you're carrying boards through the desert or washing dishes after a church event, do it with cheerfulness. Sure, it may get tiring at times, but remember the importance of serving the Lord in even the smallest tasks. That's where true ministry lies.
Finding your place in God's service isn't always easy, but with faith and humility, you can discover where you fit in His divine plan."

First placing the passage within it's historical context, and application to contemporary life are hopefully insightful and thought-provoking.There is a parallel to be drawn between the ancient census of Israel and our ongoing spiritual battle against the world, the flesh, and Satan.

"The Heavens Declare the glory of the Lord" (Psalm 19: 1)
A 80 minute electronic journey telling the story of the race to the Moon.
In July 2019 I presented a special two night event in the amazing space of St Annes Baptist Church in Lancashire. This was a special event to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the moon landing.
Both events used 100's of samples of recently released NASA recordings which had been placed in the public domain by NASA to celebrate these landmark events.
Commencing with the 1961 announcement of John F Kennedy's goal to put a man on the moon within the next decade. To the completion of that amazing journey by the NASA and the crew of Apollo 11 in 1969.
This project as well as focusing on the amazing scientific achievement of the all involved in this epic undertaking but also focuses on the spiritual experience of many of the astronauts involved.
These live events placed these recordings within my own electronic music and soundscapes and were accompanied by bible reading and contemporary Christian worship music and samples using the Ising worship software .
I have now remastered these recording used from those two 120 minute concerts/events into 90 minutes of original music. I have also kept and used the public domain NASA and news media material when creating the original 2CD Set. Realesed under my artist name.

Joseph of Arimathea:

Yet, amidst these roles, one crucial aspect often gets overlooked: Jesus Christ was also a prophet.In this episode, we delve into Luke's account of the Olivet Discourse in Luke chapter 21, focusing on Jesus's prophecy regarding the destruction of the temple and the signs of the end times. We explore the significance of Jesus's words and their relevance for believers both then and now.

As you know, there are four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. The first three, often called the synoptic Gospels, share similar content, while John's Gospel focuses more on Jesus' ministry in Jerusalem. While Matthew, Mark, and Luke mainly detail Jesus' ministry in Galilee, they all culminate with His journey to Jerusalem, where His trials, crucifixion, and resurrection take place.
In Luke's Gospel, Jesus' journey to Jerusalem is a recurring theme, emphasizing its significance in His ministry. This journey finally reaches its destination in chapter 19.
Starting in verse 28, Jesus is depicted on the Mount of Olives, preparing to enter Jerusalem. This journey symbolizes His role as the Messiah and King. He sends two disciples ahead to fetch a colt, displaying supernatural knowledge by instructing them on where to find it and what to say. This act fulfils Old Testament prophecies regarding the Messiah's entry into Jerusalem. The disciples find the colt just as Jesus predicted, showcasing the reliability of His instructions. The owners willingly provide the colt, recognizing Jesus' authority.
As Jesus enters Jerusalem, the crowd greets Him with joy and praise, hailing Him as the King who brings peace. However, the Pharisees disapprove, prompting Jesus to rebuke them. Jesus weeps over Jerusalem, lamenting its failure to recognize Him as the source of peace. He prophesies its impending destruction due to this rejection. Today we dive deep into "The Lord's Prayer, seeking insights from the teachings of Jesus. In today's episode, we explore the profound passage in Luke 11:1-13, where Jesus' disciples ask him to teach them how to pray.

Most of life's challenges revolve around relationships and conflicts. If Jesus were here today, how would he teach us to navigate these issues? What if the Apostle Paul were present? Would he guide us similarly? These questions lead us to the idea that, based on the New Testament, they might initiate what we now call a church—a gathering, teaching, and spreading of the word.
In Luke 11:1-13, Jesus' disciples approach him, asking to be taught to pray, just as John taught his disciples. This sets the stage for the Lord's Prayer, a model that divides into two parts: addressing God's concerns and personal needs.
