South Bend Cubs are on a two game winning streak. They beat the Lansing Lugnuts on the road today 9 to 3. Jefferson Rojas has a base hit in 16 games in a row, the best active streak in both the Midwest League and all of High-A. Brett Bateman had three hits in the game today and is currently batting .352 and Bateman’s on-bases streak sits now at 10 games. Ethan Hearn homered in the 9th. Sam Armstrong scoreless inning streak is over but he earned his 2nd win of the season and his current ERA is .051.

South Bend Cubs Cubs tied the game at 5 runs a piece in the 8th inning when Felix Stevens homers to right field. The SB Cubs score three runs in top of 9th: Jonathon Long RBI single that scored Pedro Ramirez to make 6 to 5 Cubs, then Felix Stevens doubles right field that scores Jonathon Long and Parker Chavers to put the Cubs up 8 to 5. Pedro Ramirez had four hits in the game. Jefferson Rojas had a hit, he now has a 15 game hitting streak. Mitchell Tyranski had two scoreless innings in his 2024 Debut for the Cubs and got the win in relief.

Great Defense in 4th and power hitting in the bottom 6th inning helped the South Bend Cubs overcome a 1 to 0 deficient to beat the Quad Cities River Bandits by the score of 7 to 4. In the top of the 4th inning the Cubs has two back to back web gems to stop the Bandits scoring chances, Parker Chavers in outfield and Pedro Ramirez in the infield. South Bend Cubs scored six times in 6th inning powered by Parker Chavers home run that scored Jonathon Long.

Shut out Victory for the South Bend Cubs: Three pitchers combined to only give up three hits whilke striking out 10 Quad Cities River Bandits batters.  Brody McCullough pitced four great inning followed by Sam Armstrong who piched all the way until two outs in 9th where Chase Watkins got the final out of the game. Shortstop and celebrating his 19th Birthday Jefferson Rojas had two hits with two runs batted in, he currently hitting an outstanding .338 for the season. Jonathon Long hits a two run homerun in 1st inning help the Cubs build a 5 to 0 lead in the first inning. South Bend wins the game 6 to 0.
