Welcome to the New Year with the Unnamed Automotive Podcast! As we enter 2024, the guys have plenty to talk about starting with a paid of luxury three-row crossovers. Benjamin starts things off with his test drive of the 2024 BMW X7 M60i, which is loaded with a twin-turbo V8 and three-rows of luxurious seating. However, Sami has some concerns with the Infiniti which shares a lot with the Nissan Pathfinder, including its powertrain, platform and many of its features. Is the Infiniti badge worth $20K? Are unpopular and sorta strange cars really actually good? That's the question this week's episode is pursuing as our hosts drive some weird and wonderful cars that have had a bad reputation in the past. First up Benjamin drives the 2023 Toyota Prius Prime, aka "the sexy Prius." With 44 miles of all electric range, the Prius Prime is no longer the geeky favourite of Leonardo DiCaprio, but a surprisingly good looking, functional car that isn't too bad to drive, or so Benjamin says. On the other hand, Benjamin's recent moving experience with the 2023 Chrysler Pacifica PHEV suggests that you don't need a family to thoroughly test a van, especially one as efficient as this particular hybrid.

First Sami talks about the 2023 Honda Civic Type R, which has gotten a fairly substantial overhaul this year. Thanks to raised expectations from the more premium base Civic, the Type R feels more mature, yet Sami says this hasn't impacted the rowdiness of the hot hatch.
