Philip Wong is a Willard R. and Inez Kerr Bell Professor in the School of Engineering, at Stanford University. He was the Vice President of Corporate Research at TSMC (2018—2020) and has remained the Chief Scientist of TSMC in a consulting and advisory role. Prior to Stanford, he was with the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center for almost two decades (1988—2004).

Professor Ian Scoones is a Professorial Fellow at the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex, UK. He is also the co-director of the ESRC STEPS Centre at Sussex and joint convenor of the Future Agricultures Consortium.
Ian laid down the foundation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that we know today through his famous work, Sustainable Livelihood Framework (SLF) which was established in the late 1990s.
His famous books include, “Sustainable Livelihoods and Rural Development” (2021), “The Politics of Green Transformations" (2015), and “Dynamic Sustainabilities: Linking Environment, Technology and Social Justice in a Dynamic World” (2010).

Pada bulan Apri 2023 lalu, European Space Agency (ESA) mengeluarkan sebuah artikel bertajuk “Revealing invisible Himalaya glacier loss.” ESA mengulas hasil studi yang mengungkapkan bahwa pencairan gletser di Himalaya, sebagai salah satu akibat dari perubahan iklim, ternyata jauh lebih parah daripada yang selama ini diprediksikan.
Penaksiran yang lebih rendah daripada fenomena yang sebenarnya terjadi (disebut ‘underestimation’) dalam pemodelan perubahan iklim dan dampak ikutannya menyimpan ancaman tersembunyi bagi masa depan kehidupan.
Jika target iklim yang kita punya sejak Kesepakatan Paris masih jauh dari kata tercapai, bagaimana jadinya bila proyeksi perubahan iklim yang dijadikan acuan ternyata meleset dan kita telah terlambat untuk berbenah diri? Sehingga, kualitas data yang digunakan untuk pemodelan iklim memegang peranan fundamental dalam menghasilkan proyeksi perubahan iklim yang lebih representatif dan akurat—sebab ”garbage in, garbage out.”
Amando Lasabuda, geolog Indonesia yang berkiprah di UiT The Arctic University of Norway, berusaha untuk menjawab tantangan tersebut melalui penelitian paleogeografi yang berhasil memenangkan hibah 4,2 triliun rupiah dari Marie Skłodowska-Curie Global Postdoc Fellowship 2023.
Dalam percakapan ini, Amando menerangkan signifikansi temuannya kelak bagi studi perubahan iklim. “Tanpa adanya paleogeografi yang kredibel, maka model iklim masa depan pun akan penuh dengan ketidakpastian,” jelasnya.

“Japan assist, not interfere.” Those are the four words that summarize Japan's foreign policy stance towards ASEAN countries, told Kiyoteru Tsutsui, the Professor of Sociology and Director of the Japan Program at The Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center (APARC), Stanford University, in the conversation. This statement is reminiscent of Ryu Hassan's comment in Endgame's earlier episodes with one of the prominent neurologists in Indonesia. He said that a happy country is a country in which its citizens refrain from infringing upon the personal boundaries of others. Japan serves as a salient example of this phenomenon. An intriguing question, then, arises: is this 'knowing one's place' attitude that is ingrained in Japanese society also manifest in its political outlook?
Kiyoteru Tsutsui's discussion with Indonesian entrepreneur, educator, and 2022-23 visiting scholar at APARC, Stanford University—Gita Wirjawan—reflects upon the 46 years of Japan-ASEAN friendship which its foundation was built by Prime Minister Takeo Fukuda. Nearly half a century later, Japan still consistently demonstrated steadfast actions to help Southeast Asia's economy, health sector, and education that can help the region foster its soft power. The three 'hear-to-heart' promises resulted in ASEAN's courteous manner toward Japan, a country that Muthiah Alagappa refers to as the 'stabilizer of the Asia-Pacific region'.
Moreover, the author of "Human Rights and the State: The Power of Ideas and the Realities of International Politics" (listed among the 10 best books of 2022 in Japan) also touches on the ethnic discrimination issue in Japan and how international human rights institutions could help to address this problem; risk of a Taiwan invasion for Japan; modern history of Japan; and his optimism on the future of ASEAN.

George Yeo bisa disebut beraliran konservatif liberal. Produk dari sistem meritokratis namun otoriter Singapura, ia percaya pada perlunya disiplin dan stabilitas di atas segalanya. Namun demikian, ia mengakui bahwa ketertiban dan stabilitas hanya dapat bertahan jika sistem tersebut tetap senantiasa menarik inspirasi dan energi dari warga negara yang lebih muda dan liberal.
Beliau sempat memimpin delegasi Singapura merundingkan Perjanjian Perdagangan Bebas (FTA) dengan Amerika Serikat, Jepang, Australia, dan negara-negara lain. Secara kontroversial, ia juga yang mengusulkan gagasan untuk memiliki Resor Terpadu, termasuk kasino, di Singapura. Seorang pragmatis sejati, ia percaya bahwa pembuatan kebijakan sering kali mengharuskan kita memilih satu dari dua sisi zalim.
