Blood at the crime scene matched Kim's blood type, and the police didn't perform semen or DNA tests. Investigators relied on bite marks found on Kim's breast and neckShortly after the murder, the Phoenix police identified their first suspect, Ray Krone. Krone was Kim's friend and became a regular customer at the bar. Phoenix police asked Krone to make a Styrofoam impression of his teeth for comparison. #139 - On February 15th, 1991, windsurfers discovered the naked body of a young Jane Doe along US Highway 1 in Key West, Florida. She had been assaulted and strangled. For years, authorities tried to identify the woman and her killer. The only clue they had was that she wasn't from Key West because she didn't have tan lines and wore moccasin shoes. Without a name, she became Valentine Jane Doe because investigators believed she was murdered on Valentine's Day. Could forensic science help give her an identify and catch her killer?Support My WorkIf you love the show, the easiest way to show your support is by leaving us a positive rating with a review. Mon, 08 Aug 2022 - 135 - Replay: Karina Vetrano
#135 - *Replay* Karina Vetrano went missing on August 2, 2016, after leaving the house to jog in Spring Creek Park, New York. A few hours later, her brutally murdered body was discovered along the running path. The NYPD and the Vetrano family are desperate to find the person responsible for murdering the beautiful, intelligent, 30-year-old Karina. Medical examiners recovered a DNA profile underneath Karina's fingernails, her back, and her cell phone. But the DNA profile doesn't lead to an immediate arrest in the case. It took NYPD nearly 6 months, but they finally arrested a suspect in Karina's murder, 20-year-old Brooklyn resident Chanel Lewis. Did police and prosecutors have enough forensic evidence to put Lewis behind bars for Karina's murder?Support My WorkIf you love the show, the easiest way to show your support is by leaving us a positive rating with a review. Mon, 01 Aug 2022 - 134 - Santae Tribble
#134 - In July 1978, two middle-aged white men were gunned down in their Washington D.C neighborhood. A few weeks after their murders, two men were arrested in connection with the shootings, 17-year-old Santae Tribble and his friend, 20-year-old Cleveland Wright. Although both men denied involvement in the crimes, Washington D.C. police and prosecutors believed they had enough forensic evidence to secure convictions. Tribble and Wright were convicted in the shootings after hair analysis testimony argued that Tribble's hair was found at one of the crime scenes. But years into their prison sentences, questions began to arise about whether the right people for the murders were behind bars. If forensic science can convict someone, can the same evidence also be used to acquit someone?
