Siddaramaiah staked a claim to form the government on Thursday, May 18, after he was chosen as the leader of the Congress Legislature Party in a meeting held in Bengaluru. Wed, 24 May 2023 - 742 - Chats Purportedly of Shah Rukh Khan Pleading Sameer Wankhede Go Viral
“I beg you man, please don’t let him be in that jail. These holidays will come and he will break as a human being. His spirit will be destroyed because of some vested people. You promised you will reform my child and not put him in a place where he may come out completely battered and broken. And it’s no fault of his. …But please send my son home. You also know in your heart it’s been a bit too harsh for him by now. Please please I beg you as a father,” This was the desperate plea made reportedly by Shah Rukh Khan to Sameer Wankhede after the arrest of his son in Cordelia cruise drug bust case. On 2nd October 2021, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan was taken in custody by NCB officials, following a drug bust operation at Cordelia cruise off Mumbai coast. Some high profile passengers were arrested in this raid by NCB. But since it involved Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, his case was of prime interest. Later as the case progressed there were questions raised on the manner the raid was conducted and entire operation and especially the role of NCB Zonal officer Sameer Wankhede came under cloud of suspicion. Almost a year and a half since then, CBI is now probing the matter. Recently CBI conducted a raid at Sameer Wankhede’s residence. The CBI chargesheet against Wankhede alleges that he made extortion bid and asked for 25 crores from the actor. There are more incriminating allegations, that we have explained in earlier videos. Defending himself in court, Sameer Wankhede has presented chats purportedly between him and Shah Rukh Khan. These purported chats between the two are doing rounds on social media in which SRK is seen imploring Wankhede to free his son, that some vested people are trying to destroy his spirit. What do the chats say? What was the reply of Sameer Wankhede to desperate pleas of a father? Let us talk about this in today’s video.

Tue, 23 May 2023 - 738 - India Is Buying Russian Oil At Discounted Price, But Who Is Really Benefitting Out of It?
"“Russian crude is substantially transformed in the third country and not treated as Russian anymore.” This was the reply of External affairs minister S Jaishankar when European Union (EU) foreign policy chief Joseph Borrell’s call for action against the sale of Indian refined products, made from the Russian crude. Borrell called for a crackdown on India reselling Russian crude as refined fuel in Europe. Responding to this, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar asked him to Look at EU Council regulations, Russian crude is substantially transformed in the third country and not treated as Russian anymore. I would urge you to look at Council's Regulation 833/2014,"" he said. But this wasn’t the first time that S Jaishankar had to defend India’s choice to buy cheap Russian oil. Earlier also he had defended India's imports from Russia while indirectly criticising the West for pressurising New Delhi to minimise its trade with Russia in view of its military action in Ukraine. He wondered how Europe could make choices to prioritise its own energy needs and at the same time ask India to do something else. However, questions have been r aised on India’s decision to buy Cheap Russian crude and sell refined oil product to the west. Both from outside and inside. Last month, report by CREA said that India leads the group of ‘laundromat countries’ that buy discounted crude oil from Russia, refine it, and sell the processed products to European countries, thus sidestepping European sanctions against Russia. India has time and again said that its decision to buy cheap Russian oil is to take care the energy need of Indians. Once S Jaishankar had even said that “we don’t send people to buy Russian oil, we send people to buy oil in the market, buy the best oil.” He defended the move saying that India was looking after its interest. But since the fuel prices in India continue to remain at record high, critics are questioning who really is benefitting from the Russian Crude oil? Let’s break down this story in today’s video.

Mon, 22 May 2023 - 734 - Karnataka Elections 2023: With 36 MLAs, Lingayat Community's Homecoming To Congress
October 1990, almost 30 years ago, Congress president Rajeev Gandhi addressed the media outside Bengaluru airport and in a moment removed the then Chief Minister of the state Veerendra Patil. At the time when this announcement was made, Veerendra Patil, who had suffered a stroke, was paralysed and bedridden. This sudden and shock removal of the CM stunned the entire nation. This was the incident that is said to have led the largest voter bloc in Karnataka:Lingayats deserting the Congress party. The whole story behind this infamous incident goes like this. The Rathyatra that passed through the state of Karnataka, led to major riots and violence in the state. 46 people died in the Communal riots. This happened a week after Veerendra Patil, then Karnataka CM, was bedridden due to paralysis. Karnataka being Congress ruled state, Rajiv Gandhi reached here for damage control. Now some reports say, without even meeting the bed-ridden CM, Rajiv Gandhi announced at the airport to reporters that Patil will be removed as CM and a new CM will be chosen by the party. Some other reports, including this 1990 report of India Today says, Rajiv Gandhi arrived at Bengaluru airport, went to meet Veerendra paatil at Cauvery bungalow, from there went to 1-2 violence hit areas and then while heading to Madras, he made the shock announcement at Bengaluru Airport. Although the party tried to do damage control by saying that it has done so, because Veerendra patil is ill, and state needs hands on CM at the time, the manner in which this was communicated, gave out a message that Congress party had humiliated Patil. This did not go down well with the Lingayats the community from which he hailed and in the subsequent elections, the community deserted Congress. In the subsequent years Congress tried its best to bring the community back to Congress but failed. Instad, Lingayat community rallied behind BJP and opened the door to south for the party. This went on for 30 years, but in the 2023 elections, Congress' lingayat vote share has significantly increased indicating that the community has shifted its political preference to the GOP again. In fact One of the Senior lingayat leader of the state MB Patil ahead of the poll said with several lingayat leaders of BJP joining Congress, the communty is coming back to Congress fold. The numbers prove the same.

Wed, 26 Apr 2023 - 700 - How 31 Tribals From Karnataka's Hakki Pikki Tribe Were Stranded Amid Sudan Crisis???| South Connect
At least 31 people belonging to the Hakki-Pikki tribal community from Karnataka are stranded in Al-ashir, 1,000km from Sudanese capital Khartoum, where rival factions of the ruling military regime have been battling for control of the African nation. With appeals for help pouring in, the Indian embassy in Sudan has advised Indian nationals not to step out, ration their supplies and seek help from neighbours, as the situation seemed unlikely to change in the next few days. The stranded Indians have issued appeals for help. They have said that food is running out and they are not even getting water to drink. Hakki-Pikki’ is one of the major tribal communities in Karnataka. In Kannada, the word ‘Hakki’ stands for ‘bird' and ‘Pikki’ stands for the verb ‘to catch’. Therefore, the community is known as the ‘bird catcher,’ which is their traditional occupation. The Hakki-Pikki community migrated from the northern India population. According to the 2011 census, the population of Hakki-Pikki is 11,892. After their trade of bird hunting was outlawed, they were rehabilitated in the 1970s. They began doing odd jobs like working in fields and sharpening knives and sickles by riding around towns on bicycles after bird-hunting was banned. They also sell the herbal remedies they extract. Just ahead of Next month’s high stake Karnataka Assembly elections, the BJP is facing a full-blown crisis. Several senior leaders of the party are quitting. While the BJP barely recovered from the shock resignation of former DyCM Laxman Savadi, came another major jolt this week to the party. While, former BJP CM BS Yediyurappa who is Shettar’s contemporary, has put up a brave face and said that he will stand with BJP and it will come back to power, one cannot say that Shettar and Savadi quitting has not worried the party at all. Wed, 19 Apr 2023 - 690 - "Jitni Aabadi, Utna Haq": Why Rahul Gandhi's Strongest Caste Census Pitch Matters
There’s a saying in Marathi. Jaat kadhi jaat nahi. Caste never goes away. He also demanded that the govt should do away with the 50% cap on reservation. In the past Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar demanded for the nationwide caste census. The demand prominently came from Bihar as the state is home to political leaders who rose to power from the Mandal-Kamandal politics. But it is probably for the first time that Rahul Gandhi has prominently made the demand for releasing the caste census. And it assumes much importance especially because of the upcoming Karnataka assembly elections. Let us discuss about this in today’s video. Why is caste census demand being made by Congress? Why now? And what are the impact of the demand on Karnataka?

Mon, 03 Apr 2023 - 662 - "State Is Impotent and Powerless, Does Not Take Action On Hate Speech": SC Slams |
"A Supreme Court bench of Justices K.M. Joseph and B.V. Nagarathna had harsh words to say on the role of the state in taking action against incidents of hate speech. The bench was hearing a petition asking for contempt of court action against the Maharashtra government over their alleged failure to act against hate speeches during rallies. The petitions alleged that the state government was ignoring the Supreme Court’s own directions when dealing with processions of the Sakal Hindu Samaj. The Supreme Court bench had also asked authorities to take relevant action against proponents of hate speech without waiting for a complaint to be filed. The Supreme Court, on Wednesday, repeated its concerns over failure of authorities to take prompt action against instances of hate speech. “State is impotent, state is powerless; it does not act in time. Why do we have a State at all if it is remaining silent?” in very stringent words Justice KM Joseph aired his anguish during the hearing. Yesterday, Advocate, Mr. Nizam Pasha, appearing for the petitioner, had apprised the Court that the contempt petition has been filed based on a news article published in the the Indian Express, which mentioned that 50 rallies spurring hate has taken place in Maharashtra in the last 4 months.
Fri, 31 Mar 2023 - 661 - FSSAI Order On Using Dahi on Curd Packets Sparks Hindi Imposition Debate in Karnataka
Can there be a language debate over Curd? well, it has just started. With just few days left for Karnataka elections, the Hindi Imposition debate has made a comeback in the state. It all started with spelling curd on a packet of curd. Recently, A Food Safety and Standard Authority of India (FSSAI) order directed the Karnataka Co-operative Milk Producers Federation Limited to use the word ‘Dahi’ followed by the common regional name in brackets on the label of curd packets. This has angered pro-Kannada groups and invited stiff opposition from the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) board of directors. Anand Kumar, a director on the KMF board, said that dairy farmers will not allow KMF to sell curd packets using the word ‘Dahi’ in Karnataka. He alleged that the move was yet another attempt by the central government to “cunningly” impose Hindi on southern states.

Under which a series of Open meetings are being organized in different parts of the state. The meetings are not only conducted with an eye on the upcoming BMC and state elections, but also to build back the party's core base that was split since Eknath Shinde's rebellion last year. As per the letter by lokSabha secretariat, the MP from Wayanad has been disqualified in terms of the provisions of Article 102(1)(e) of the Constitution of India read with Section 8 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. Mon, 27 Mar 2023 - 653 - Behind What Meets The Eye: Are BJP-Uddhav Thackeray Patching Up???|
After repeating it a number of times, I'm compelled to repeat this again. In Politics, no one is a permanent friend and no one is a permanent enemy. Those who are making blistering attacks on the opponent can be seen walking hand in hand the next day and vice versa. Similar was the experience for many yesterday. When Maharashtra's DyCM Devendra Fadnavis and Former CM Uddhav Thackeray walked inside the assembly compound together with smiles on their faces. This caught everyone by surprise as Devendra Fadnavis is alleged to have a hand in the collapse of MVA govt and enabling the rebellion by Eknath Shinde. So the bonhomie was enough to raise curiosity. But does that mean the animosity between Uddhav Thackeray and Devendra Fadnavis fading away???
