Burn The Playbook is a podcast for women who are ready to stop living by rules that were never made for them.
Hosted by Simran Ahluwalia, this is a space to question the systems, expectations, and beliefs we've inherited about what it means to be a woman—and explore what becomes possible when we stop following the default and start building our lives around our own biology, intuition, and truth.
We'll talk about womanhood, leadership, entrepreneurship, ambition, rest, relationships, health, and the invisible rules shaping the way we live—with honest conversations that challenge what we've been taught and invite us to imagine something different.
Because the world doesn't need women to become better at playing by the rules.
It needs women willing to burn the playbook and write a new one.
Welcome to Burn The Playbook.
- 2 - What Does It Mean to Be a Woman? The Performance of Femininity
What if the version of womanhood you’ve been trying to embody was never actually yours?
The girl boss. The soft girl. The good girl. The trad wife. The desirable woman. The successful woman. Even the “empowered” woman.
We’ve become incredibly good at performing different versions of what a woman is supposed to be—and calling that self-expression.
In this episode, we question the archetypes we’ve inherited, why they feel so comforting, and what happens when an identity becomes something you perform rather than something you inhabit.
Because there’s a deeper question underneath all of it:
Are you actually becoming yourself—or becoming really good at being a particular kind of woman?
We’ll explore the ways girlhood can disguise itself as womanhood, our need for approval and belonging, and what becomes possible when we stop asking “What kind of woman should I be?” and start asking:
“Who am I?”
This is an invitation to burn the archetype, step outside the box, and discover the woman underneath the performance.
Thu, 03 Sep 2026 - 20min - 1 - How to Be Disciplined as a Woman (And Why the Male Model Doesn't Work)
Episode 1 — Discipline Within Womanhood
What if the way we've been taught to be disciplined was never designed for women?
We're told that discipline means pushing through, waking up earlier, working harder, staying consistent, and never making excuses. But somewhere along the way, many women learned to confuse discipline with overriding their bodies, ignoring their needs, and sacrificing themselves in the name of success.
In the first episode of Burn the Playbook, Simran Ahluwalia questions the traditional model of discipline and explores what it could look like when we stop measuring ourselves against a system built around constant output.
What if discipline isn't about forcing yourself to do more?
What if it's about learning to listen to yourself, honor your capacity, protect your energy, and follow through on what actually matters to you?
It's time to rethink what it means to be a disciplined woman—and decide whether the old playbook deserves to survive.
