We will all come to the end of our race someday, where we will have to ask ourselves the question – 'What really matters?' A plane has a limit on how much it can carry, depending on the size of the carrier. Its maximum take-off weight is calculated ahead and strictly adhered to so that it does not end in tragedy. We all have load limits, and the God who knows our load limits is the same God who limits our load. He has created us with limitations and ignoring the warning signs on our dashboard can be detrimental.

At the Last Supper, Jesus told His disciples He wouldn’t drink of the vine until they did so together in the Kingdom of God. Yet, at Gethsemane, He fervently prayed to avoid another destined cup. Was Jesus avoiding pain and shame, or was there more? What was in the cup?

Psalm 103, written by King David, is a well-loved psalm of praise and thanksgiving, recounting and declaring the goodness and mercies of God. Embedded within this psalm is a contrast that seeks not to confuse, but bring clarity so that we find purpose and meaning to our daily lives. The outcome of this is the key to meeting God, face-to-face.

Do you know what the problem is for most of us? Respectability. Especially in our Asian culture, we care too much about what people think of us. If we don't break through the barrier of respectability, we're going to miss some of the most amazing encounters and miracles in our lives. Just read your Bibles. The ones who were most willing to lose their respectability were the ones most likelyto receive their miracle!

The Church has primarily focused on the Gospel's core elements: the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, and rightfully so. However, there's another crucial dimension often overlooked - the higher realm Christ died for us to enter. Without grasping this elevated dimension of living, our spiritual walk and warfare will lack effectiveness.

Oftentimes, there are no miracles – just surgery, chemo, or the loss of memory, mobility, speech and even hair. Until the person you once knew doesn’t even look familiar anymore. This is my 34th year in full-time ministry and I can’t think of anything else I want to do for the rest of my life. I love 100% what I’m doing and I’d not exchange it for anything in the world! But I think the role of a senior pastor is probably one of the most intense and difficult jobs there is on the planet. So how in 34 years of ministry have I kept a semblance of sanity? That’s the question I want to ask and seek to answer.

I don't ever want to be guilty of feeding you with sugar water, nor have a church full of people with rotting and decaying teeth. The Pentecostal Church today is guilty of fostering a culture of spiritual babies who crave sugary words of destiny while their teeth are rotting. Prophetic conferences are packed with children who are malnourished because they've never been taught the strong Word of the Lord. They like to laugh, shake, fall, but they do not tremble at the Word. May we always be true to the Word of God!

There’s a law in Scripture called the ‘Law of Unintended Consequences’. Wisdom warns there comes a point in time that if we keep ignoring her, it becomes too late to avoid the consequences. And we’re not talking about salvation, because it’s never too late to be saved. But when the things God’s wisdom intends to protect us from in life such as bankruptcy, sexually-transmitted diseases, mental breakdown, addictions, divorce etc. go unheeded – when we keep rejecting wisdom, there’ll be consequences.

Psalm 124:7-8 says, ‘Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.’ If you’re reading from the NKJV, both verses use two rather archaic words – ‘snare’ and ‘fowler’. But if you’ve a modern translation, you’ll discover the word for ‘snare’ is sometimes translated as net or trap. The fowler is a bird-catcher or a bird hunter. The good news is – both these verses promise that God has undertaken to rescue us from the trap of the bird-catcher.

Many rivers in the world are venerated by different religious groups, but there’s definitely one river in the Bible where life-giving waters will flow. Wherever this river goes, it’ll bring forth life. 2024 is going to be a year where we see the intensity of the river increasing in Cornerstone and we must be ready at an instant to go deeper into it. The Lord is calling us to GO DEEP.

The Lord often used metaphors and parables to illustrate Kingdom truth, and simple pictorial language people could easily understand. Believers are often pictured in Scripture as Trees of Righteousness; Israel was referred to as an Olive Tree; and righteous men were called Cedars. King Solomon, in his wisdom, spoke of cedars of Lebanon and the hyssop, a plant that grows out from the walls of buildings. All this to say that some are like cedars and others like the hyssop. So what can we learn from this fascinating subject on trees?

The Blood of Jesus speaks for us and pleads our case before the Righteous Judge in the Courts of Heaven. He has also given us the legal right to speak for those whom we love and stand on their behalf in overcoming limitations, sin and even barrenness.

We are living in a time of accelerated harvest, but the quality of the seed affects the harvest. Mikel French shares in this revelatory teaching on the power of the seed that God has given us to bless the nations and release healing to the world.

There are three words we want to explore this weekend – PLANS, PURPOSE, and in between that is something called PROCESS. If I could summarise what these three verses are saying, they simply mean: you can plan all you like, but God has the FINAL SAY! When the storms of life come, we may respond like the Psalmist in Psalm 44 who asked, “Where Are You, God?!” In our pain and confusion, we may even throw accusations against Him. Without knowing Jesus intimately, we will not be able to love others passionately. We will not have oil and wine to heal the broken and dying. Only when we stop our busy schedules for the One, can we then stop for those around us.

John the Baptist was called a friend of the Bridegroom, which is the highest accolade and commendation one can receive from the Lord. In Scripture, it was the friend of the bridegroom who was selected to conduct marriage negotiations on his part. It was he who carried messages between the bridegroom and the bride during the period of the betrothal. God is looking for companions for His Son for eternity and that should be our highest quest.

The snake line is a geographical term which describes an imaginary topographical line in a mountainous region above which snakes cannot live or survive. Snakes can live beneath the line but cannot survive above it. This concept is life-transforming when applied to our spiritual lives, because Scriptures reveal an analogy between both.

Several years ago, in a prophetic dream, I heard clearly the word, ‘Thundercloud’. This a term I hardly ever use, so when I receive words like these, I take it seriously. I looked it up in the dictionary and a thundercloud is basically a cloud charged with electricity and produces lightning and thunder. Interestingly, there are many references of thunderclouds in Scripture and I want to explore what they mean to us prophetically, and how we can apply it in our lives.

Psalm 4 was written by David during a season of deep frustration. He was facing opposition and was deeply distressed. David displayed a human side of himself that we can all identify with. But he also came to a conclusion that gives us the key for how we’re to respond to people, such that we do not reduce our interactions with them to a ‘me versus them’ scenario.

‘Simchat Torah’ in Hebrew means to rejoice in the Law of God and calls for us to celebrate His gift to the world. The Torah is not just a historic record, and more than a manuscript or a set of poetic writings. The Word became Flesh in Jesus – God’s most definite, living, and immeasurable gift to humanity! How do we love His Word more and allow it to become flesh within us?

One of the few things in life we can take with us to eternity is relationships. The account of the poor widow in 2 Kings reveals the key that relationships have in our lives for the miracle we need. Our faith determines the quality of our miracle, but our relationships determine the quantity. In this powerful message, Ps. We're living in the closing moments of not just a generation, but the end of time. Enoch was a divine example of one who pleased God with his faith. If there's ever been a time we need to walk with God, it is now.

When Uzzah was struck dead for touching the Ark, God wanted to show David that His purposes and plans could not be carried by the strength of man. When things seemingly go wrong or when situations appear disastrous, it could be God stopping us in our tracks to prevent us from going away from His original plan for us and for future generations.

The place of prayer is 2-dimensional – in the natural and supernatural realm. God wants to engage the earth through us in prayer, and it can only happen when we're awakened to and connected to the realities of His Kingdom and be a conduit of these realities in our everyday life.

In Numbers 33:2a, we read how ‘Moses wrote down the starting points of their journeys at the command of the Lord.’ The whole of Numbers 33 is dedicated to one thing – the journey that the Children of Israel took in the wilderness for 40 years. Did you know that in 40 years, they camped at a total of 40 different locations, with each essentially being a key water source? And it was the Lord who commanded Moses to record the journey for posterity sake. In the same manner, I felt compelled by the Holy Spirit to do likewise – record the journey of Cornerstone over the past 28 years. What amazing lessons we can learn from our journeys!

Balaam is perhaps one of the most enigmatic characters in the Bible. The narrative about him contains contradictions, the legends passed down are fascinating, and archaeology verifies his true existence. Put these things aside and we wonder if there’s a primary, cogent message that Israel’s encounter with him brings to us? Let’s hear what his donkey has to say about it.

In the Bible, only One fulfilled all that God had purposed for Him, and that's Christ. Everyone else missed something of what God had for them. Abraham produced an Ishmael, Moses did not enter the Promised Land, and even David confessed that his house was not fully in order at his death. While we may never be perfect, nonetheless, we're cautioned that we must not self-sabotage the call of God in our lives. Elijah's experience speaks into this subject vividly.

The Incarnation is the most momentous, incredible incident in history. A God who could do anything, chose to work with a teenage girl to do the possible, so that He could do the impossible. God is looking for our cooperation to birth His eternal purposes and plans today. He wants to work for us, in us, with us and through us!

Every truly born-again believer has received an anointing from the Holy ONE and that anointing enables us to function and serve in the capacity for which He has designed us. The anointing is like putting a key in the ignition and starting the engine. It’s the spark that ignites the gifts. And if you say, “I’m not anointed”, then you’re calling the Holy Spirit a liar. The only way for us to truly understand the anointing is to understand WHO and WHY people are anointed in the Old Testament, and that the anointed must be appointed.

Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 11:3 that ‘The head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.’ Basically, everyone has a covering – even Christ – whose head is the Father. So it makes a person look silly when he or she says, “I don’t need a head or a covering.” We all need a covering and to be properly covered as well.

In the second part of this message, Rev. Celia shares the key to knowing our God-given purpose. Whatever God demands of us, He already configured it into our system. One key to discovering it is to look at what we're good at. God hid your purpose in you where you can find it, and no one can take it away.

We live out of our identity in Christ, but purpose is the reason for our existence. God created everything with intention, and when He made us, it was for Kingdom influence. Whatever He has called us to do, He has also endowed us with the gifts to perform it.

Before God give man a job, He gave him an identity. The test is always about our identity. Jesus passed the identity test, and started preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom. God cannot trust us unless we pass the test of knowing who we truly are in Him!

The 12th chapter of the Book of Revelations describes a future war that’s coming which will not be fought on earth, but in the heavenlies. It’ll not be fought by men, but by angelic beings seeking to dominate the heavenly places. The outcome of this battle has already been decided and satan will be thrown out of heaven. But WOE to the inhabitants of the earth when that happens. What must we understand about this coming war and what are the implications to us?

The phrase 'Magnum Opus' means 'Great Work'. When Jesus went to the Father, He promised that we would not only do the work He did, but greater works shall we do! What is the great work that God has called us to do? More specifically, what is the Magnum Opus of Cornerstone? Here are 7 things that makes us uniquely Cornerstone.

No other chapter in the Bible extols the wonder and importance of imbibing God’s Word in our hearts than Psalm 119. However, reading this psalm is like scaling a mountain because it's the 'longest chapter' in the entire Bible and most Bible plans even split the reading over a few days. This is an invitation to ascend the mountain of Psalm 119, for precious treasures await those who answer that call.

Key moments in the Old Testament are invariably seen in the New Testament. These inter-Testament parallels are important for various reasons. Principal amongst them is that they bring depth of understanding otherwise overlooked. The Tower of Babel incident is paralleled by the Upper Room outpouring. The latter serves as the anti-thesis of the former, without which, cannot be fully understood.

Our God is an OVER-PROVIDER. Each time we find the Lord providing for His people, the provision is always overcompensated by His generosity. One of the great promises in Scripture is that ‘The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it’ Proverbs 10:22. There’s really no limit to how much God can give to us, if we’re willing to believe. Cornerstone is entering into enlargement and expansion and we must prepare for it!

Apart from our Lord Jesus, very few people who have suffered greater pain, humiliation and anguish like Job did. And what he went through is something I wish for no other human being. He lost everything he loved, cherished and owned in one fell swoop. BUT GOD… What do we do when there’s perplexity and affliction in our lives?

After the death of Moses, Joshua took over as the patriarch and spiritual father of the nation of Israel. One of the first and foremost messages he gave to them was to ‘Choose you this day whom you will serve!’ The power of choice involves both biblical and practical considerations, and will affect both us and our family, for our today and our tomorrow. The choices we make will define our life and determine our destiny!

In the account of John 11 where Jesus comes before the tomb of Lazarus, Canon J. John illustrates four simple yet powerful responses that is presented to each of us – to remove, respond, release or reveal. Is God asking you to remove the stone that stands between you and Jesus? Is He waiting for your response to His command? Are you still wearing grave clothes that you need to release? And what are you to reveal to others through His work in your life? It's time to wake up your Lazarus!

Christianity is meant to be lived out in fullness through community. God’s intention is for us to walk in a transformative journey of connecting with Him and experiencing meaningful connections with people. As we do so, it leads us to a greater sense of His purpose and promises in our lives.

It’s amazing how when we change our focal point on a subject matter, we may end up seeing something we’ve never seen before. This is true especially of Scripture. The key to understanding God’s Word is to turn from seeing things from our own point of view, to seeing it from His Divine perspective. In the case of the Parable of the Wicked Vinedressers in Luke 20, this is distinctively so.

1 Kings 17:8-16 tells of a mother’s faith amid a hopeless situation that changed everything for the better for her and her son. She's an example of a mother that despite facing an impossible situation, chose to have faith in God and saw how He worked wonders in her family’s life through her faith and obedience.

There are seven great priorities God has for the Church and I can see all of heaven buzzing with great excitement because of what’s about to happen on earth. The great sacrifice of our Saviour Jesus Christ is coming to a fullness and we need to be focused on those things that are in the Father’s heart.

The Parable of the Minas or Pounds is often interpreted as relating to our stewardship of the gifts that God has given to us. However, it really mimics real events in the days of Jesus where a king went to a distant country to receive his kingship. By drawing from current events of His days, Jesus sought to bring a challenge to His followers that goes far beyond just the stewardship of one’s gifts and opportunity.

1 Timothy 2:1-6 is a great passage that reminds us to pray for all people. When we start praying for them by name, our prayers can have a powerful and profound impact on those around us. Evangelism is not about a one-time campaign or event, but about intentionally sharing God's love with others on a daily basis.

The 2nd epistle of Paul to Timothy is one of my favourites. It’s a ‘no holds barred’, bare knuckle letter written shortly before his own departure and he’s not holding anything back. He does something that he rarely does in the other epistles – he gets very up-close and personal and pours out his anguish to young Timothy.

When it comes to following Jesus, it’s not a set of rules or requirements. Neither is it about becoming a member of the church, but being in relationship with Jesus.

Both apostles Paul and Peter warned us to refuse and shun 'profane and old wives’ fables'. Although the Bible doesn’t tell us exactly what these old wives’ fables were, a cursory glance of 1 and 2 Timothy gives us an idea what Paul was referring to. What are some of these old wives’ fables? How can the church avoid these controversies. Paul then spoke at length on the exercise of godliness, which we will be exploring.

Throughout His ministry, Jesus often encountered the cast aways of society and elevated them to a place of value and significance. If we’re to receive the new wine that God is pouring out for the end-time harvest, the Church needs to have new wineskins to receive the least of these as those He loves.

It can be daunting at the onset, and we may sometimes feel intimidated by the thought of sharing our faith with another. But it doesn't have to be so. One of the things I’ve been personally praying about for 2023, is that I’d laugh more and find greater joy in life. God has been doing a steady work in my heart and spirit, but last week I had an unexpected encounter with joy in the most unlikely of places. In a place where there should be weeping and sorrow, joy abounded. How can we continue to ‘rejoice’ as Scripture commands us to, amidst growing stresses, past trauma, and our fears of the future? Join us as we learn some important lessons about joy!

It’s the desire of every follower of Christ to know the will of God and rightfully so. But many times, our theological statement on this sounds like a convenient platitude when we’re faced with real life circumstances. What’s helpful is for us to realise that many of the heroes of the Bible also failed to follow the will of God, and pursued their own defaults and passion. What’s the end result and what can we learn from their experiences?

Isaiah 6 is a chapter of vision, and one of the most stirring chapters in the Bible. In it, we find three profound statements that defines what true revival is.

From the parables Jesus told, the relationship between a master and his servants were dramatically redefined. None more so than the Parable of the Serving Master in Luke 12. While servitude is something we might not be familiar with in today’s context, it was a common practice in the days of Jesus. This parable defies everything convention dictated in His days. Understanding it is much more than just understanding servanthood, but to grasp what Jesus is offering us in our unique relationship with Him as our Master, and us as His servants.

We’re seeing a degree of violence today the likes of which we’ve never witnessed before. This escalation of violence is in our streets, homes, workplaces, in the public square, and all over social media. I’m appalled at the degree of senseless violence happening on a daily basis. What’s going on here? One of the things Jesus said would happen in the last days is the spirit of murder that would be unleashed by Satan. He has come to steal, kill and to destroy and we must never ever forget it. What must we do in response to this?

When we consider the Parable of the Eleventh Hour Worker, something in us inherently feels a sense of injustice. Why should the one who worked an hour receive the same pay as the one who worked a full day? Nonetheless, this parable provides an important understanding for us about the nature of God’s Kingdom, and this is what we’ll be unpacking this weekend.

My focus this weekend is on Psalm 23, which is considered the most beloved of all psalms. Several prophets we personally know have declared that this is the psalm for 2023. This magnificent psalm was written by King David, not in his early years, as most people assume, but in the latter years of his life, as David reflected on all he had gone through. He realised that through it all, the Lord had been watching over him faithfully as a shepherd does over his sheep.

Before He went to the Father, Jesus said that the Holy Spirit would come upon us. This means the Holy Spirit is here. But the question today is – Has the Holy Spirit come upon us? And If He has, what’s the depth of our surrender to Him? How much of you does the Holy Spirit possess?

Jesus manifested His Father’s Kingdom authority on earth by bearing fruits of healing and salvation. Likewise, when we walk in His healing power, we manifest the fruits of God’s Kingdom and bring glory to Him. The Church must desire to walk in greater Kingdom power and authority!

This sobering message looks at what happens to each of us the moment we die. This is worthy of all acceptance – everyone who has ever lived will be judged for his works, good or evil. There are no exceptions; there are no VIP passes and there are no back doors. We can banish any thought that you can escape the Courtroom of Heaven. How are we going to be appraised on that Day?

The start of a new year is always exciting. As Christians, we all want a word for the year and to know what lies ahead. Financial pundits seek to predict the markets, sports commentators assess the chances of sporting teams, and the church often joins in to try to peek into the future. However, this is really a foreign concept from a Biblical standpoint. How then does God's Word tell us about starting a new year? This what we'll be looking at this weekend.

The Bible speaks of a veil that covers over our eyes – a curse resulting from Adam’s transgression. But because of what Jesus – the 2nd Adam, has done, this veil has been removed and we can behold Him with unveiled faces and experience an open heaven. God seeks for us to enter through the veil into the innermost chambers of His Presence. His invitation is for us to come and enter in, and dwell in the unseen realm of His Kingdom.

One of the titles of our Lord Jesus is ‘Wonderful Counsellor’. He’s the answer for the world today. He has counsel for every crisis, a plan for every problem, a direction for every dilemma, a prescription for every pain, and a message for every man. In an ever-increasing complex world, what I see is a great need in the Church is for a company of Spirit-filled and Spirit-led counsellors. May God grant to us a multitude of counsellors in this hour!

The Parable of the Good Samaritan is perhaps one of the most familiar Bible stories. Ask anyone in the streets and they’d most likely know of it. It’s so well-known that the phrase, ‘A Good Samaritan’ is now used to describe the extension of help and kindness to strangers. However, when Jesus told this parable, His intention was not to instruct us on ethics, but to answer a theological question. With its common usage, have we also forgotten what this parable was intended for?

The greatest departure from New Testament Christianity has come about possibly because of our failure to understand the nature and necessity of sacrifice. Christianity was founded upon sacrifice and has progressed over the last 2,000 years and will continue to do so because of it. But whenever the sacrificial nature of our faith is compromised, there’ll be a falling away that comes upon the Church and her progress comes to a grinding halt.

The most common refrain I hear today is, “I am TIRED!” It seems like everyone you meet is going through a season of stress or worse still, distress. We’re told in Daniel that the devil seeks to wear out the Saints of the Most High. Things are going to be more difficult. Christians are going to be in great perplexity and we must find this place of rest before we spiral downwards. There’s a rest that God is offering us that will keep us safe, sound and totally at peace. Labour to enter into it.

Many have been crying out for a fresh wave of God's Presence and move – for revival in our lives and in the Church. As we continue to pray and contend, let's hear what His invitation is to us who are asking for Him to do 'a new thing!'

Each of us is given a race to run and we’re called to finish our race strong. May we hold fast to the end and have faith to finish well.

Heaven is an indescribable place that confounds the intellect beyond anything in the natural. A powerful encounter in the heavenly realm was what Ps. Alwyn had, and brought about in his life a touch of heaven in everything he now does.

In the 2nd part of our sermon series, we continue our exploration into Jesus’ encounter with the 'Samaritan Woman At The Well'. It climaxes with Jesus revealing Himself as the Messiah, and providing answers to what truly fulfils in life. These are things to consider that will be ever more relevant in the days we're living in.

Satan is on a warpath. Revelation 13:7 reveals to us that he is granted ‘to make war with the saints’ and he has unleashed upon the Church weapons of mass deception. There’s an onslaught of deceiving spirits that has been released against the Church in this hour and we must be prepared for battle. What’s our antidote to this deception? Discernment. More than ever, we need to know the truth of God’s Word, because this deception has crept into the very fabric of the Body of Christ. May the Spirit of Truth preserve us in this hour from these deceiving spirits.

Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well is packed with details and nuances that brim with truths. This encounter was never meant to occur according to the customs and circumstances of those days. Yet, divine ‘coincidence’ laid out for us an exchange which conveys thoughts that are meant to reframe our thinking and methodology forever.

The fear of the Lord is the awareness that you’re before God all the time. It’s the consciousness that you’re part of the heavenly realm before a great cloud of witnesses. So may we aim to live our lives God-focused, to please Him above anyone else.

Jesus is incredibly compassionate, loving, and caring. He healed the sick, cast out demons, opened blind eyes, and performed miracles and wonders. But at the same time, He said some things that were quite controversial. It was as though He’d intentionally stir controversy so that He might awaken us to truth. Today, we don’t realise the context from which Jesus spoke, nor the stir He caused. Perhaps in recovering these controversies, we may also realise the truth He wants to bring to us.
