Talking about hell may make us uncomfortable but Jesus spoke about it often. Our modern culture downplays difficult truths like hell but it's important to face the truth and listen to what Jesus says about it...And he said to them, “Strive to enter by the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. When once the householder has risen up and shut the door, you will begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, open to us.’ He will answer you, ‘I do not know where you come from.’" Luke 13:23-25

Ten years later, Fr. John Bartuneks advice still rings true. (Originally posted in 2013) In this video, Father John explains the importance of understanding the devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary in order to appreciate the significance of praying the Rosary. He highlights three aspects of Mary's role in the lives of Christians: her chosen role by God, her example of holiness, and her intercession for believers. The Rosary is seen as a way to sit with Mary, review the events and lives of Christ, and deepen one's spiritual connection. Key Takeaways: +Devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary is essential to understanding the significance of praying the Rosary. +Mary's role as a spiritual mother reminds believers that growth in holiness is primarily through God's grace. +Mary's example in the Gospels serves as a model of obedience, self-sacrifice, and charity. +Mary's intercession for believers is seen in her role as the Queen Mother in the Old Testament and her intercession at the wedding in Cana. +The Rosary allows believers to sit with Mary, review the events and lives of Christ, and deepen their spiritual connection. Quotes: "God chose to bring our Lord into the world through the Blessed Virgin Mary, through a woman." - Father John "When we have the Blessed Virgin in our lives, we're reminded that we're just children. It's God's grace that does the work in our lives." - Father John "We see Mary being obedient to God, being self-sacrificing, persevering, standing at the foot of the cross." - Father John "The Rosary is like a little child sitting on his mother's lap, going through a family photo album and listening to his mother tell about the history of the family." - Father John "He says to John, 'Behold your mother.' And he says to Mary, 'Behold your son.' So there he's giving his mother to be the spiritual mother of all Christians." - Father John
