पल्लवी पुंडीर एक उभरती हुई लेखिका है।  इनकी कहानियों में मंटो जैसा कटाक्ष हैं और एक स्त्री की ममता भी। बड़े ही सरल शब्दों में बहुत बड़ी बात कह देती हैं उनकी ये कहानी 'दूध की बोतल'।  जब यह कहानी प्रकाशित हुई, इसे असंख्य लोगों का प्रेम भी प्राप्त हुआ। पाठकों ने अंत को बदलने का आग्रह भी किया। किंतु, कुछ कथाओं की दुखांतिका, परिवर्तन का मार्ग प्रशस्त करती हैं।

तो दोस्तों तनिक ठहरें, कानों में इयरफोन लगाए अथवा म्यूजिक सिस्टम का वोल्यूम तेज करें, और सुनें मुन्ना की कहानी। आप कुछ काम करते हुए सुनने की इच्छुक हैं तो वो भी सही। लेकिन, कहानी जब अंत की तरफ बढ़ेगी, कुछ भिन्न होगा। आप अपना काम कुछ समय के लिए स्वयं छोड़ देंगे।

Set in 1930s, this story is a comic tale about an Indian guy trying to learn to ride bicycle. In those days, it was not easy to ride bicycle; when you bought a bicycle the bicycle company would send in a trainer to train you for 10 to 15 days. There was huge sense of pride in being able to ride a bicycle. Tune in to listen to this hilarious tale by 'Sudarshan'.

"आज खाने की मेज पर अरसे बाद पिंकी चहक रही थी । पी.एम.टी की परीक्षा सानंद संपन्न हो जाने से वातावरण हल्का हो गया था । इतने दिनों तक एक तनाव-सा व्याप्त था । घर पर भी और बच्चों के मन पर भी । प्रसन्ना का सेकंड सेमिस्टर परसों ही समाप्त हुआ । आज पिंकी भी फ्री हो गई थी । अब रिजल्ट की चिंता कुछ दिनों के लिए मुल्तवी रखकर आजादी का जश्न मनाया जा सकता था ।"

इस्मत चुग़ताई का नाम भारतीय साहित्य में एक चर्चित और सशक्त कहानीकार के रूप में विख्यात हैं।उन्हें ‘इस्मत आपा’ के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। वे उर्दू साहित्य की सर्वाधिक विवादास्पद और सर्वप्रमुख लेखिका थीं, जिन्होंने महिलाओं के सवालों को नए सिरे से उठाया।

Voices: Vipul Jaiswal as Narrator and Mudit Singhal as 'Bade Bhai Sahab' Sound Design: Gaurav Puri Story Review: Bade Bhai Sahab, one of Premchand’s most notable short stories was published in 1910, shortly after he dropped his name Dhanpat Rai and adopted the pseudonym Premchand. The early 1900s were important and interesting times for the Indian freedom movement and its consciousness as a nation. This was the time when nationalism was finally taking firm shape in India with literature both shaping the discourse and responding to it. In fact, in the first instance, it is a merry story about relationship between the narrator and his brother, five years his senior in age and their divergent approaches to studying in school. If one looks closer it is an excellent critique of colonial educational system and its impact on Indians. This was the time when a concerted effort was made to move away from Sanskrit and Muslim education to teaching primarily a Western curriculum with English as the medium of instruction. The ultimate purpose was to make Indians more amenable to British rule and institutions, who could serve as useful intermediaries in imperial expansion. The story cleverly undercuts the superiority of the British when 'Bade Bhai Sahab' scolds his brother on his supposed arrogance, taking interestingly a very Indian example of Raavan and how he fell due to his hauteur. He compares the mighty empire of Raavan with the British Empire, hinting at their fallibility. He then hilariously demonstrates the pointlessness and the absurdity of the English education for the vast majority of Indians and the remoteness of the context when he speaks about remembering the names of dozens of ‘Williams’ and ‘James’ and ‘Henrys’ and how the lack of new names necessitated annoying addition of generational suffixes.
