  • 300 - 295. The Farewell One ft. Roark and Erica

After six years and nearly 300 episodes, this is the final episode of Finding Mr. Height on the public feed, and Ali didn’t want to do it alone. Her first co-host, Roark, and her second, Erica, come back to catch up on where they are now, then go all the way back to when the show started, their favorite moments & catchphrases, the episodes they’d put in a time capsule, and they’ve each viewed their journeys.

The show isn’t disappearing entirely! The Patreon continues every week with Ali’s personal updates, listener questions, monthly lives, a Discord chat, and more - so if you want to keep listening, that’s where to find her: patreon.com/findingmrheight. You can also keep up with Ali on Instagram and TikTok, travel with her on an FMH girls’ trip, or work with her through coaching.

Thank you for listening, for writing in, and for growing alongside this show.

  • 299 - 294. The Nickname, The Private Stuff, and The Ending ft. Skyline

Skyline is back, this time for his send-off from the public pod. He talks about finding out what FMH actually was, going back to listen after their first few dates to scope out the competition, and why hearing your own date recapped on air feels like eavesdropping on a job interview. Ali tells him how close he came to being called Ink Master, he explains the very adult reason the pseudonym stays, and they get into why nobody has ever had to veto anything: the line between private and shareable has never once needed a conversation.

They go back over the two years, including his read on why coming into it from opposite ends is exactly why they landed on the same pace. Ali tells the story of asking someone to be exclusive two years before him and getting a no, and why that made the same question terrifying the second time around. Skyline closes with his honest take on her ending the public show, and the advice he has been holding onto himself.

Updates: one episode left. Eep! Roark and Erica come back next week for the finale. Emmy makes a brief appearance and declines to say hi.

  • 298 - 293. The Friends I Made Along the Way ft. Ilana Dunn & Talia Koren

For one of the last episodes of Finding Mr. Height, Ali sits down with the two friends she made in a podcasting world she assumed would be cutthroat: Ilana Dunn of Seeing Other People and Talia Koren of Dating Intentionally, recorded separately, back to back.

Ilana was the first podcasting friend Ali ever made, five and a half years ago, and she came prepared with a list of every episode they have done on each other's shows. They get into how much has changed for both of them since, why an ending is not really an ending, and she closes with the thing she says nobody says out loud about dating.

Talia started as a listener and booked a coaching session with Ali the same week she met her husband. Halfway through she turns the interview around: what Ali would do differently if she started over, whether there is another podcast in her, and what she will actually miss.

Before the guests, Ali corrects the count (three episodes left, not two), teases next Monday's episode with Skyline, and reports back on the farewell submissions that closed Friday.

  • 297 - 292. If She's Not Too Much, Why Am I? ft. Serena Kerrigan

Serena Kerrigan went on 50 blind first dates on Instagram Live, and she is still making the same argument she made then: most of us decide who a person is before we have met them. She and Ali get into the mirror work behind her new book, out this week, why “being chill” is not an attachment problem but a sign you are with the wrong person, and what they each used to reject people over. Serena would not date younger men, or men who do not drink. Her boyfriend is both.

Serena is the last expert guest of the public podcast, which makes this a full circle for Ali. She started chronicling her own dating life around the same time Serena started hers, and what stuck was watching someone younger refuse to apologize for who she was, and thinking, if she does not feel like she is too much, why do I?

Ali is in San Diego at her mom’s house for a longtime family friend’s wedding, and says ending the pod finally started to feel right this week. Two public episodes left. Submissions for the farewell episode with Roark and Erica close the morning of Friday, September 25.

This week’s Media Mention, the last one, is “Dating Apps Are Dying” in TIME. Ali uses it to dig into the rejection mindset: the longer you swipe, the more rejecting you get, and that is not a character flaw.

Where to find Serena: On Instagram @serenakerrigan, on TikTok @serenakerrigan. Her book Let’s F*cking Date is out now.

Timestamps: Serena joins us at around minute 15.

  • 296 - 291. Six Years of the Pod, Reread by a Psychologist (Pt 1) ft. Dr. Katie Rickel

Dr. Katie Rickel is a clinical psychologist and a longtime FMH listener, and over six years of listening she kept collecting moments. Not clinical notes, just things Ali had said on the pod that a psychologist recognized. Eventually she brought Ali the list, and this episode is that list!

It is not a diagnosis nor a therapy session, just a psychologist taking real examples from years of Ali talking about her life and explaining the mechanism underneath them. Katie walks through her CEO and executive assistant metaphor for the ADHD brain, and the two of them use it to re-read the vacation anklets, the texting scripts Ali kept in her Notes app years before the podcast existed, "it didn't occur to me," the bee in her bonnet, the stylist she hasn’t hired, and the Wednesday before a Friday flight when the whole to-do list landed on her chest at once. Katie has a few hypotheses, and leaves Ali with a tip she calls planned procrastination. They ran out of time (it’s six years, after all!), so this is part one.

Ali also shares an update on her ADHD diagnosis, news Patreon heard first, and talks about where this conversation sits in the wind-down of the public pod. A proposal she knows is coming, a foot injury keeping her off the court, and a fashion week that has her back in product rooms all come up along the way.

Timestamps: Katie joins us right at the top of the episode.
