Imperialism is a primary contradiction, so let’s talk about it because no one is addressing the veteran angle in a critical way . Platner's defenders have been using his self-celebrated service record and the combat PTSD excuse in order to explain away bad behavior, alcohol abuse, and a failure to come to terms with the true cost of the Global War on Terror. I think if some of us were more politically disciplined a bunch of people would not have been side-swiped by this recent credible allegations.
It’s just me today for this episode, everyone else is on summer break so I’m stuck having to talk about Platner, about what military service truly means in all its violence and why I currently do not trust a single veteran in office or a single one who is running, and why placing your faith in singular movement leaders to usher in the revolution and turn the electoral college and this whole franchise around is never going to cut it. We might talk about Cesar Chavez, since it’s somewhat apropos.

1. Economic interests that require a threat environment to stay profitable

2. Elite networks where consensus forms before any public debate

3. Funded think tanks that convert that consensus into expert opinion

4. Official language and legal designations that install the frame

5. Media systems that distribute it as neutral coverage

6. Public opinion polling that returns the result as democratic mandate

7. Repeat. This is continuous and cyclical.

The People Pushing War With Iran Believe the World Is EndingSo, this morning President Trump posted to social media that there “will be no deal with Iran except UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER! After that, and the selection of a GREAT & ACCEPTABLE Leader(s), we, and many of our wonderful and very brave allies and partners, will work tirelessly to bring Iran back from the brink of destruction.” He signed off with “MIGA!,” for “make Iran great again.”So the dimensions of this conflict have certainly expanded, and now involves over 17 different countries and far more complexity than the Invasion of Iraq - “We are in it Now” says senator Elisa Slotkin, former CIA case officer, when questioned today about approving additional defense funding to extend military operations against Iran for another Hundred Days. All while Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, and Kuwait are considering canceling or reviewing contracts and investment commitments with the U.S. due to mounting economic strain and insecurity caused by the ongoing war with Iran. This potential move aims to pressure the Trump administration to halt the conflict, as Gulf officials express frustration over not being warned about attacks and feeling unprotected.Trump has gutted the state department, many strategic state department postings in region remain unoccupied, USAID, which would usually be working on shaping a post conflict enviroment is not longer really a thing and US bases and Israeli cities have been getting hit. And despite the media blackout a ton of damage is being done to US assets, bases, and the war is not going well. But that’s okay because a lot of evangelical extremists in the WH are actually not trying to live in a better world or fix the environment, or improve your material conditions, because they believe they are living in a time of revelatory prophecy and we are nearing the end of human history anyways.

Then we will talk about Venezuela in terms of its proximity to the Panama Canal which generates a lot of paranoia in the USA with regard to the BRI potential, China’s access to key trade locations that threaten US influence in the region but also the global economy. Then the military angle, which is linked to the Cuban missile crises paranoia, as Venezuela and Russia have also signed a strategic anti-hegemon partnership which was ratified by Russia last month. What does it mean?

Then we will move onto rare earth, which is very important and multi-layered. Rare-earths are becoming one of the most valuable resources due to high-tech, and the race for AI. How the US is completely de industrialized and How that links to Sudan as well as even the past war on Yemen and Congo. We will discuss this new engagement with Nigeria.

And finally in conclusion, why civil war and chaos favors capital, and why so little is done to end the ethnic cleansing in Sudan or Forstall a war with Venezuela or come up with a workable peace plan (for it could never be a liberation plan) in Gaza.

Know a lot of you feel overwhelmed with the barrage of unhinged horrific back to back bad news to the point where you are in shock, depression, horror, survivor’s guilt or all of the above at once. But understand that is very intentional. And that is the goal of the ruling class.

All of this is meant to be your death spiral to despair to the point where you feel as if you’re just another inconsequential spectator of history- a mere speck on this space rock, completely helpless and combat-ineffective to help your fellow humans from war, genocide, and capitalist slavery.

But I assure you…that is not the case. The question is: will this lead to a tangible revolution? Our conclusion is: there is no other choice for us at this point. There has to be a revolution or we lose this planet and everyone in it to the most perverse and vile elites and their sick desires of control over everything.

ICE is currently engaging in and facilitating human trafficking for the profit of billionaires, and that’s not a hyperbole.

After the Epstein scandal was exposed to the dismay of the ruling class, how do you convince millions of Americans to support a new system of human trafficking on a massive scale with no legal barriers to stop it? Convince them it’s for their safety. 

While the American public has been fed the narrative that the mass incarceration and detention of undocumented immigrants has been to reduce “migrant related crime”, the majority of immigrants being rounded up have committed no violent or drug-related offenses, all while nobody on the flight logs to Little Saint James have been arrested and the best we’ve gotten is a heavily redacted list given to hijacked social media influencers and a clear message from the Depart of Justice: “nothing to see here, folks”. 

Besides the fact that some of the first targets of ICE were protestors to Israel’s crimes, ICE is now providing Wall Street with a new cash cow via massive billion dollar contracts to the private prison and security industry that will inevitably be used on American citizens but currently being beta tested on hardworking migrant families as a soft opening for a totalitarian police state that will be weaponized against anybody American in the working class.

But it’s not going to be that easy thanks to the hard work of activists, patriots, constitutionalists and human rights activists.

Detention Resistance is an abolitionist, non-institutional, autonomous collective organizing in accompaniment with migrants, refugees, and those who have been criminalized by the state. With Mea documenting, Ruth has been working on the ground in San Diego in assisting vulnerable migrants against the unconstitutional violations from ICE’s ambushes on migrants seeking to navigate the bureaucracy of the court system to pursue legal status and providing support for migrants detained in what any historical expert would deem to be concentration camps.

The Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States gives a right to bear arms. We therefore believe that all Black people should arm themselves for self-defense.

8. We Want Freedom For All Black Men Held in Federal, State, County and City Prisons and Jails.

We believe that all Black People should be released from the many jails and prisons because they have not received a fair and impartial trial.

9. We Want All Black People When Brought to Trial To Be Tried In Court By A Jury Of Their Peer Group Or People From Their Black Communities, As Defined By the Constitution of the United States.

We believe that the courts should follow the United States Constitution so that Black people will receive fair trials. The Fourteenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution gives a man a right to be tried by his peer group. A peer is a person from a similar economic, social, religious, geographical, environmental, historical, and racial background. To do this the court will be forced to select a jury from the Black community from which the Black defendant came. We have been, and we are being, tried by all-White juries that have no understanding of the “average reasoning man” of the Black community.

10. We Want Land, Bread, Housing, Education, Clothing, Justice And Peace.

When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume, among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect of the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We are seeing the coordinated focus on the protest slogan “globalize the Intifada” from right-wing politicians and Israeli propagandists.This is just another evolution of the ill-fated Global War on Terror, which has never ended, and will now turn inward on not only muslims but anyone who opposes the War-State.

William I. Robinson is an American sociologist and professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, specializing in political economy, globalization, and social theory. He’s widely recognized for his work on global capitalism and transnational class formation.

In the 1980s, Robinson worked directly with the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN) in Nicaragua during the revolutionary period after they overthrew the Somoza dictatorship in 1979. He was involved in political education, journalism, and solidarity work, helping to support and defend the Sandinista revolution both inside Nicaragua and internationally. His experiences during that time deeply shaped his later academic work on imperialism, social movements, and the global capitalist system.

Robinson remains an outspoken advocate for anti-imperialist movements and often draws on his Sandinista-era experiences in his critiques of U.S. foreign policy and neoliberalism.

The Press is already calling it Signalgate, harkening back to the infamous political scandal in 1972 under the Nixon administration. On Monday, March 24th the Atlantic broke the story that journalist Jeffery Goldberg had been added to a signal group chat with US national security leaders discussing impending war plans for aerial combat missions against Houthi leadership in Mid March of this year. Classified information was discussed on an open-source civilian messaging application. While Signal is used by military leaders around the world, according to Signal’s CEO, it is against the PEntagon’s operational security protocols. Using a Signal chat to share highly classified information and accidentally including a reporter on the discussion could raise the possibility of violations of federal laws such as the Espionage Act.It can be a crime to mishandle, misuse or abuse classified information, though it is unclear whether such provisions might have been breached in this case. However, the salient point here is that they were using an app with disappearing messages, a feature not available on secure governmental messaging systems where accountability is a priority. No one predicted the rapid pace of events in the most recent iteration of the Syrian Civil war, beginning with the rapid advance of HTS and other forces from Idlib province into the to city of Aleppo, the unanticipated stand down orders given to the Syrian Army, and the rapid collapse and flight of Assad’s government. Rumors of backroom deals, internal corruption, and Western interference abound, so we may not have a clear picture for some time. What remains then is the potential fates of Syria and the Axis of Resistance.

The situation is balanced on a knife’s edge, and to help us unravel the complexities of this multi-faction, multi-ethnic socio-political development we are joined by Afeef Nessouli, journalist with years of experience, both in the UN and the Carter Institute, reporting on Syria

Many out there are confused by the sudden Ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah in Southern Lebanon, given that one of Hezbollah’s initial early operational imperatives was to not relent its military pressure on Israel until a ceasefire was reached in Gaza.

That prospect, one of a ceasefire, seems more unlikely now, though some hold out hope that this ceasefire in Lebanon will snowball into others throughout the region. With the IDF on the brink, low on munitions and manpower, why relent now?
