Welcome to another rapid succession episode of Farming the Depths of Eternal. This week we finish our two part episode on Vara, Death Master. Don't worry, this is the part where we actually talk about Vara. She was functionally errataed to stop a lot of combo shenanigans, but can she still find a place in Throne and Expedition? She still can produce a lot of value being a great way to trigger entomb and summon effects a second time. This episode we look at a variety of ways to use and abuse her unique effect. Welcome to Ep. 8 of Farming the Depths of Eternal. This episode we try to go over (quickly (LOL!!1!)) all the contenders for this weekend's throne open. We discuss all the major tier 1 and 2 decks that we expect to see in Day 1 and 2. We, also, try to give some broadstroke overviews of the format and how the different decks fit into the meta. Enjoy and good luck this weekend. Show notes with example decklists for all decks mentioned! https://docs.google.com/document/d/13qENIwV53OshD70csHVd3oGkXJzL8lkQtWQ0e0tXEi4/edit?usp=sharing

Welcome to Farming the Depths of Eternal, a podcast all about brewing, where each episode we chose a card and brew some decks around it. This week we have Imestr8 on to talk about Vara, Death's Master--or do we? This is the problem with combo podcasters. I sit down to the table ready to record a regular old podcast with my normal show notes and interaction. I have my decks. I'm ready for anything, I think. But then, it turns out to be a combo podcast. None of my normal interaction matters in this match up. The whole episode becomes about the combo. I don't have any say on whether I win or lose or how long it goes. Does the main topic I put in the show notes matter in a combo episode? No. It's all up to the combo podcaster. All I can do is sit and listen and wonder if they have it or not. Welcome to Farming the Depths of Eternal, a podcast all about brewing, where each episode we chose a card and brew some decks around it. This week we have Imestr8 and Applechips on to talk about Binding Agreement. Binding Agreement was recently buffed from 8 cost to 6. Can it find a place in constructed? We talk through a bunch of decks it seems like it would fit naturally in to and then we get a little speculative. Welcome to Farming the Depths of Eternal, a podcast all about brewing, where each episode we chose a card and brew some decks around it. This week we have Imestr8 on to talk about Talir, Headmistress and the (semi-)recent balance patch. Talir charges, she ramps, and she can gain you a ton of power. How many things does a 6 drop need to do to see play? Welcome to Farming the Depths of Eternal, a podcast all about brewing, where each episode we chose a card and brew some decks around it. This week we have Imestr8 on to talk about Olyn of Urmstead. Welcome to Ep. 117 We have searched high and low for some rares but every time we think we see a good one, it is just another hall. Will we be able to break through the brigades and find some good rares? We think so, but it won't be easy. If you would like to follow along as we kick butt, take names, and chew bubble gum. Welcome to Ep. 116. This episode was supposed to be our rare episode but then disaster struck. Draft crime was skyrocketing. It wasn't safe to go into the queues alone anymore. We needed help. So I sent out the Hat Signal to call in Hatsman to see if we could clean up this streets. If you would like to follow along as we kick butt, take names, and chew bubble gum. Welcome to Ep. 115. We are back this week to discuss the top uncommons of Cold Hunt. Just like the commons, there seems to be a clear top of the pack with the uncommons, but around #5 or #6 it gets a little wishy-washy. We go through each color and run down what the spreadsheet says are the most common uncommons and talk about how they have been playing for us. Here is the 7-win spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1p3U5m7Tk0l7paZv1KAG1AyWP0-mVPo677nIhOxAwfsk/edit?usp=sharing Finally, some plugs. Welcome to Farming the Depths of Eternal, a podcast all about brewing, where each episode we chose a card and brew some decks around it. This week we chose Sweetest Dreams. It is an uncommon from the newest set and part of the two color invoke cycle. It is a 5 cost card that does a lot of things and can provide a lot of value. We try to hit on every aspect of the card in our exploration and present 4 throne decks to try out. Yes, we present 4 throne decks based around a 5 cost card that conditionally plays a 3 drop. Follow along in our show notes and see the decklists here and please let us know what you think. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dL-exIp_UhJu3kMEvWlqnT7-FVQUCA2mfTVlRcB_o_I/edit?usp=sharing

Welcome to episode 112. We have who_does_that on this week to talk all about the new format with me. We discuss the new mechanics and themes as well as review all the multi colored commons and uncommons. Finally, we end the show with our top commons and uncommons for each color. I also get the number of uncommon heroes wrong multiple times in the episode in multiple places. Counting is hard. Welcome to episode 111, which I call 110 in the intro and called 110 all the way up until the point where I tried to save the audio recording. This week we have Cotillion on to say good-bye to revelations. Revelations was a contentious set. Some loved it. Some hated it. Some were bored by it. Some thought it was well balanced. Some thought half the colors were unplayable. Some thought it playedd like a core set. Some thought the mechanics made for interesting and unique gameplay. What we can all agree on is that we had it for a very long time. Welcome to a very special first episode to Farming the Depths of Eternal an incredibly irregular podcast about brewing. Each episode we pick a card and brew some decks around it. And then we talk about them. We aim to build fun, but competitive decks. Who better to help me brew some innovative, spicy decks than Johnholio from the Eternal Journey podcast and to talk and talk and talk about them than Stormblessed from Friends of Eternal. This week we are discussing Raniya, Never Caught, the brand new promo. Is she just a worse Hidden Crusader? Can she hold her own in throne? Found out as our crack shot team of brewers discuss 3 throne decks and an expedition deck that try to find her hidden potential. We have a guest host again this week, Jed, who talks with Gunner116 to get his initial impressions of the new format. Classic Gunner is being classic Gunner and currently in first. So I am sure he has some great ideas in this episode. I am not sure what else to write here since I haven't listened yet and Jed didn't send me a summary. But, here I am, forging ahead, broken keyboard and all. Undeterred by the all the asdfjkl;'s that are in this description that I painstakingly typed out for no good reason. Welcome to episode 104. In this episode we have no time for introductions. It contains over 7 times the electrifying HatsonLamps gameplay commentary as last episode and that is too much electrifying content to waste on explaining what we are doing. Welcome to ep. 103. We had so much fun last week drafting that we are running it back this week. We even have time for some in game gameplay commentary. DWD, we are available, if needed. Enjoy the show while Hats and I have some fun waiting for some shake-up in the format. Here is the 7-win spreadsheet: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1c…/edit?usp=sharing Finally, some plugs. Welcome to ep. 102. The community has spoken. You love group drafts. You can't get enough of them. The thought of playing against only one opponent at a time fills you with loneliness. You can't bear it. It is time that Hats and Patomaru throw their proverbial hat into the ring and try to get in on this new group drafting craze that everyone is talking about. What unique, fun, subtle, but strong deck will these two come up with as they navigate this Revelations draft? Rakano Aggro, you say? Unbelievable. Those mad geniuses. Welcome to ep. 101--the highly anticipated follow up to our ground-breaking, best, most highly acclaimed episode ever. Hats and I knew we had to bring our A-game this week, so we enlisted the help of Pachi, sometimes known as PachiLOTR, to help. Pachi has been having a lot of success drafting value hooru decks, so we thought we would try to use this opportunity to turn all those format frowns upside down and show everyone there is more to this format than drafting aggro. So get ready to tap into your primal side!

Welcome to Farming Eternal Ep. 99. Auren Jailer TOO STRONK. So we used skysweeper as our cut-off instead. In this episode we go over every rare we would take over the Skysweeper. Welcome to Farming Eternal Ep. 98. Ursa's Squadron TOO STRONK. So we used Blitz Stone as our cut-off instead. In this episode we go over every uncommon we would take over blitz stone. Then for some bonus content we include a tier 2 of cards we take over Open-way Supplier. Welcome to Farming Eternal Ep. 97. In this episode, we discuss the top commons in every color and compare them to the commons that are showing up the most in our 7-win spreadsheet. We also look over the top performing color pairs in our spreadsheet of 7-win decks. Right now they are Combrei, Stonescar, Rakano, and Argenport. We also discuss what underperforming decks might have some untapped potential. Welcome to Farming Eternal Ep. 96. The new set came out last week and I haven't played it. Hats played it but didn't prepare. So, we decided to combine our powers and summon someone who did both and have them on the show. So thank you who_does_that for answering our clarion call. We go through all the new mechanics. We go through all the interesting cycles and we go through each signpost 2 color common and uncommon. Then for some practical advice we each give our top 3 commons for each color. Then, we.... actually nothing else happened because by this time we all become delirious and died of dehydration. So the world may never know what comes next. Finally, some plugs. Welcome to Ep. 95. We did it. We made it to the end of Empire of Glass. It is time to look back at all those fine memories of getting hit with 5/5 bashers on turn 4, of 2 power 10/10s, 0 power 7/6s, and a certain 5/6 endurance, regen, flyer. Oh, did I mention the flying, charge, lifesteal, regen 6/5? What fond memories. It's always fun to think about what we learned from a format and what we got wrong and how our evaluations changed. Hats even had fun. Welcome to Ep. 94. We did it. We fit in one more episode before the draft open to help prepare everyone. This week we would like to thank DWD for providing the show outline this episode. Without their help and support we would have had nothing to talk about since Cotillion's Show Notes left us out to dry. Oddly, Cotillion, himself, showed up for the show to teach us everything he has learned during his week long epic losing streak. Was there anything to be gleaned about the format after losing game after game against decks with 18 rares? Listen and find out. I am sure there is something helpful in there. Here is the set 10 (Empire of Glass) faction spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1G9UfwKbZR9n0oqWCD6C544GoFcutc3FCVBBqvh1Dp4A/edit?usp=sharing We also have a Patreon www.patreon.com/farmingeternal We also started a discord. Welcome to Ep. 93. We would like everyone to give our great guest this week, Cotillion's Show Notes, a warm welcome. While Cotillion's Show Notes didn't talk much during the episode, I think you will be impressed by the insight and energy they bring to the episode. It's amazing how much they shaped the episode in so few words. This week, with the help of Cotillion's Show Notes, we discuss the new draft pack changes. The pack order is changing, new cards are being added, and weightings are changing so there is a lot to unpack. We also wade in and discuss what are the top decks we expect to see for the Draft Qualifier for those of you just getting into set. For you old hats, I am sure you will hear some familiar deck faces. Welcome to Ep. 92. This is our long awaited follow up episode to how to draft 5 colors where Hats and I do a 48 card draft explaining exactly how to get into 5 colors. I am unfortunately not convinced Hats was committed to forcing 5 colors in this draft in fact he seemed at points to be down right trying to dissuade me from trainwrecking this draft. In fact it is probably disingenuous of me to even have the words five color anywhere near this episode. Oh, and the format changed since we recorded. ::shruggy face:: We do have that classic Patomaru and Hats card reading and banter, though. Welcome to Ep. 91. It's the long awaited sequel to episode 90--Episode 91. In this episode we talk about nothing that we talked about in Episode 90. Instead we talk about drafting 5-colors in this format. I hear there was recently an article on the subject by Schaab. Did I read it? No. Did Hats read it? Doesn't seem like it. Did we talk to Schaab or Bettorup about it? Nope. Do we have a lot to say about what we assume they say? Yes. Yes, we do. Welcome to Ep. 89. This week we try to navigate a draft together in this confusing pack order switch draft format that is upon? We also discuss whether our co-drafts up to this point have been shining successes or unmitigated disasters with no room in-between. We also discuss what other outside influences could be affecting your draft performance. Maybe there is something out there beyond your control... Welcome to Ep. 88. Not one but two special guests this week -- Cotillion and Tempest Dragon King. This week we breakdown the recent draft pack changes as well as discuss all the new cards that are now 10x boosted. Then Cotillion and TDK change the criteria half way through and start talking about 5x cards too. Point being we talked about a lot of cards. Thanks for listening. Welcome to Ep. 87. You probably only have a week where this information is relevant, but have you every wanted to draft Elysian? No? Have you every thought of drafting Elysian? No? Have you every heard of Elysian? No? Well, your win rate in this format probably hasn't suffered, but maybe this episode can tempt you to give it a try. Welcome to Ep. 86. We are concluding our series by discussing all the top rares and where we would pick them compared to the top uncommons. We split them into 3 categories. Cards we would take over Martial Efficiency and Autotread. Cards we would take over the next tier of Vine Grafter, Metalfang, and Nectar of Unlife and finally cards worth discussing but not in the top tier. We would also like to give a special shout out to JedtheHomarid for the title joke. Welcome to Ep. 85. We have Gunner back on for a guest appearance. Hats had some technically issues so had to leave after the intro, but we still managed to have a great episode covering a wide variety of cards. We talk about Gunner's drafting 17 Fire decks in a row streak. What cards he likes in fire and what some of the different fire decks look like. We end with me asking him about 5 final questions and then review a draft. Thanks for coming on Gunner. Welcome to Episode 80: This is an extra special episode this week. Our second ever mainline solo episode and the first solo episode without me. Schaab takes over hosting duties for the week and discusses things. Honestly I have no idea what he discusses because I didn't look at the show notes he send nor did I do any editing. He could literally be saying anything right now and I wouldn't know it... I am starting to have second thoughts... I hope I have not made a big mistake. Here goes nothing. I am hitting the upload button. We are embarking on this journey together dear listeners. Godspeed. Welcome to Episode 78. This episode we say good-bye to Argent Depths as we try to break through that hardened shell that has calcified around Hats' heart and let him finally express his true feelings of this format. The following episode is an audio version of "Be Boring," one of my first articles about the drafting process. Welcome to ep. 70: Podcasting the easy way. This week we do a live draft of Argent Depths. The draft is a mess. The signals are a mess. It is very typical of the current draft format. The deck did end up going 7 wins though. So we must have done something right. Welcome to ep. 69. We are happy to have special guest Schaab from Let's Talk Limited on the podcast this week. Our main topic was Drafting the Hard Way, but we didn't stop there. We talk about a little bit of everything this episode. We did have a few audio issues on Schaab's end. Hopefully it doesn't take too much away from the discussion. Welcome to ep. 68. The Draft Championship is upon us. What better way to prepare than to listen to Hats complain about the draft format for 2 hrs? There isn't. We also talk about what archetypes have been showing up in the seven win decklists as well as what factions seem the best. We breakdown Hooru and talk about how to combat aggro. We also answer Spiffyman's question of the week. Finally we give our official Farming Eternal top 5 Uncommons and Commons. All without editing except for when our call dropped mid podcast. Ep. 61 is here. Yes, that is right. 61 does come after 62. In this episode we are taking a trip in the wayback machine all the way to set 8. We have had our ups and downs these last six months with set 8, but we wanted to take some time to say good bye to Echoes of Eternity draft. If you too are feeling nostalgic, then come and listen. May your 8/8s always draw you three cards and may your swords always be 32/32s. Ep. 62 is here. Where is episode 61 you ask? It's coming next week! In this episode we talk about all the new and returning mechanics as well as some subthemes.
