After stalling for a half hour or so, your hosts give some of their final thoughts on Amazon Prime's The Peripheral, as well as listener thoughts and random internet people thoughts.

We made it folks, this week we break down the finale. Don't worry we are just as confused as you are, we'll figure this thing out together.

This week we recommend some stuff, then we get deep into the penultimate episode of The Peripheral, and mainly discuss our confusion about decisions made by the showrunners.

Episode 6 of Peripheral finally picks up the pace and introduces a character we both love. It is not without it's flaws however, and we root em out like couple of truffle-hunting piggies.

This week your hosts express their puzzlement at how a show with so few episodes, and so much source material to draw from, can have so much filler fluff in the middle of it's run. We also talk about the mid terms and make fun of Elon some more.

This week we spend damn near the entire podcast talking about the actual movie it's based upon, with very little digression. But more importantly we watch the Street Preacher slowly and painfully die.

First, a half hour of Matrix Resurrection talk (spoiler tag included), then it's time for the Street Preacher to nail hands and chop heads.

The Street Preacher makes his shocking return as Johnny obtains the second access code.

After a loving retrospective of The Matrix, the boys watch two grown men hang from a net, until one of those men loses his head.

This week Shinji chases Johnny, and they find themselves in a precarious position.

Takahashi cuts Anna's feed, then gets perforated. Shinji prepares to claim his prize.

Takahashi makes his appearance in heaven with a sword and a desire for head.

Much talk of pinball precedes a minute full of rocket launchers and crossbow shots.

Johnny & Jones enter cyberspace while Maroni catches a bug.

This week your boys spend about a half hour talking Dune, then get into a very exciting Mnminute. Time for Johnny & Jones to get to work.

Johnny gives in. Shinji heads up.

Shinji makes his triumphant return, then Johnny learns what is about to happen to him.

Finally Johnny gets to meet the mysterious Jones that everyone has been talking about. However he may get more than he bargained for. Because Jones is a dolphin, didn't expect that, did ya, Johnny?

This week Johnny & Jane get a guided tour to the heart of Heaven itself, and learn what exactly it is the Loteks do there.

Johnny wakes up from his flashback and is immediately sucking face with Jane. Then we learn about the lo-tek bang train.

Johnny gets carried through Heaven, and we get a good look at all the Lotek's who keeping an eye on him.

This week we spend a lot of time discussing how Ice-T chooses to look behind himself, and also the stability of platforms. It is a dry minute, but we do our best.

Johnny finishes the second half of his rant outside the gates of heaven. Jane consoles her boy as J-Bone descends.

This week Johnny snaps, stands on a mound of literal garbage, and expresses his vitriol to all within earshot (mainly just the dogs, and the garbage and last month's newspapers blowing back and forth).

This week we spend a lot of time catching up, then we watch Johnny and Jane get a flaming beetle dropped on their heads.

This week Johnny lets down his walls for a minute, and we get to learn a little more about the mysterious Jones.

Johnny and Jane arrive at the gates of Heaven, but before they can get in they have to deal with a couple of Lotek St. Peters.

Your hosts begin with dystopia talk that is slightly more upbeat than usual, followed by a minute that is decidedly less so. RIP Spider.

After much talk about The Cut of Snyder, ya boys dive into Johnny Mnemonic with the excitement of Spyder diving into Johnny's skull. Which he might just have to do.

Johnny, Jane, and Spider continue their tour through the makeshift NAS hospital, and Spider reveals the he is the intended recipient of the data in Johnny's head.

Johnny, Spider, and Jane get a first hand glimpse at the ravages of NAS. Spider, after receiving some delicious coffee and charts, begins to explain who Dr. Allcome is.

This week Johnny, Spider, and Jane attempt vehicular manslaughter, but unfortunately just end up with vehicular battery. Then they head to the covid ward... excuse me, the NAS ward.

Johnny, Spider, and Jane discuss whether the data within Johnny's brain is as important as the brain itself. Josh and Eric discuss other stuff.

After some light cannibalism talk, we watch the 54th minute of Johnny Mnemonic, in which Spider gets a look at Johnny's wetware.

After some highly underinformed and outdated stock talk, we watch poor ol' Hooky get his hand bashed off, then we admire his acting chops.

Your hosts talk some vid'ya games, then they watch Spider condescend to Johnny, and Street Preacher gives Hooky a... hand.

After 15 million media recommendations, your hosts watch has Takahashi learns about his AI stalker. That very AI then pays a visit to Johnny as he messes around with Spider's equipment.

Happy 2021, they year of Johnny Mnemonic! We greet the new year with a trip to visit our favorite punk rocker turned street doc, Spider. We also talk dystopian TV and Josh plays a video game for the first time in 12 years.

Happy Honda Days everyone, this week the Titular Johnny heads out to his meeting with some corporate goons. Jane attempts to persuade him otherwise before lapsing into a NAS siezure.

Johnny and Jane hit the mall to make a quick phone call. Your hosts debate the finer points of retractable hand razors and wax nostalgic about phreaking into Bulletin Boards like the true Gen X trash they are.

We finally get to lay eyes on the long golden locks of Karl the street preacher as he accepts the job to retrieve Johnny's head. Also, recommendos and listener voice mail!

This week we discuss various punchable faces, then Johnny gets traced and has to run from the Yakuza. The minute ends with the heralding of a long-awaited event.

Johnny has a contact in cyberspace, and he may have to flex a little bit to get the info he needs out of him. Meanwhile the Yakuza are hot on his heels, and they have a weapon.

Your hosts almost forget to talk about the election, then head back into cyberspace with Johnny for some hax & fax, buffers that is. He gets the info and is off to visit his buddy Strike.

Johnny gets elbow deep into cyberspace as he hacks the hotel in Beijing, finds the info, and relates it all to Jane in real-space. We go frame by frame and see just what the 'net looks like in the futuristic world of 2021.

This week we discuss music, virtual reality's representation in cyberpunk fiction, and of course we watch the 40th minute of Johnny Mnemonic, in which Johnny is a 1337 hax0r.

Much more interesting minute this week as Johnny yells at Jane, then they go into a high tech computer shop and scavenge Johnny up the hardware for some good ol' fashioned hacking.

This week's pointless minute rehashes information we already knew in a subway tunnel we are already sick of. If that doesn't sell the podcast I don't know what will.

This week your hosts vaguely talk about something that could happen and that it might make them cautiously happy maybe, but won't say what it is. Then they watch Johnny have flashbacks in slow motion.

This week we dissect the 36th minute of Johnny Mnemonic which just happens to line up perfectly with a 58 second scene in Takahashi's office.

Your hosts don't have the heart to do much dystopia talk this week, so we hustle into the 35th minute of Johnny Mnemonic which is a dialog-heavy walk and talk in an abandoned subway. Johnny explains his situation to Jane, then has a seizure.

This week we watch Johnny and Jane get rescued by a bunch of Loteks, then descend into the subway tunnels to make good their escape. Your hosts discuss how bad everything is and have some suggestions for media to distract yourself with.

This week is about garbage. First we talk about the garbage world we live in, then we discuss the garbage stacked up in this week's minute of Johnny Mnemonic.

After the usual week-out-of-date dystopia talk, we dive into another minute packed with gunplay and dismemberment.

This week's minute is action packed. With a rescue, a negotiation, blood, weird car-antenna weapons, possible cybernetic hand razors, and even an eventual escape. We break it down in literal slow motion so that not one detail escapes.

Johnny is still tied to a table, but any second now he's going to be rescued... any second now.... ok maybe next week. Also, as usual, we talk Dystopias, reccomendos, and deftly engineer other trains of thought.

This week's dystopia talk gets a little dark. Then we get into what is probably the least interesting minute of Johnny Mnemonic that we've watched yet. Then we ramble for an extra 15 minutes for some reason. Tadaaaa!

Reunited after a long break, our hosts have lots of real world dystopia talk to catch on. After that they watch Johnny threaten Ralphie, then get knocked TF out.

This week, recorded at the beginning of July, has a meet-cute between two Johnny Mnemonic greats: Johnny and J-Bone. Marvel at the on screen chemistry of those guys while you recoil at the lack of it by your hosts.

Johnny makes a distraction, Toad gets shot, J-Bone does not say "bye". All that plus recommendos and anecdotes from your hosts.

After some nerdly reminiscing of the 1900s, your hosts dive into minute 25 of Johnny Mnemonic. In which a cowboy lies to Johnny, and a bald guy tries to cut his head off. It's all good fun however, as Johnny escapes into the alley.

This week we start by talking about some of our favorite cyberpunk movies, and forget that Bladerunner was a thing. We then get into the 24th minute which is, lets be honest, not the most exciting part of Johnny Mnemonic. Interesting or not, we still bring some fun facts to the table and make the most of the minute.

This week's episode starts with a harrowing tale from the Canadian desert. After that we dive into the minute, split between the nightclub, and an establishing shot of some urban slum. Also this scene features some tongue sucking if that's what you're into.

Josh and Eric watch the 22nd minute of Johnny Mnemonic, complain about the DVD player, and take a deep look at the club scene, in which there is no shortage of background craziness to comment on.

We have an awesome minute in store for you. First the conversation in the checker cab finishes up, then we finally cut to our super cyberpunky nightclub with techno opera singers, dudes in top hats and goggles, and of course Spider and Jane. We cover it in painstaking detail so hope you enjoy.

After a brief and awkward discussion of the very familiar current events, your hosts examine the 20th minute of Johnny Mnemonic, in which Takahashi throws shade at Shinji, and Johnny Boy drives around in a Checker cab.

An intense conversation is being had inside the Pharmakom building? Or in Tokyo? Maybe just another random building? We aren't sure exactly where it is, but the point is that two imposing Japanese men are giving us a serious plot dump and we'd all do well to pay attention.

This week's minute finds Johnny landing and Newark and going through a remarkably easy immigration process, then we catch our first glimpse of an important new character.

After far too much banter, and far too much hate on Texas (sorry Texans), we dive into our extra-exciting minute. We finally end the Beijing hotel scene with Johnny's weird disguise-escape. Then we enjoy a rock-fueled transition to Newark.

This week was a mess. Either we screwed up, or our software screwed up, but either way this week's minute is only 40 seconds. That 40 seconds, however, is actually packed with action. Mono whips, gunplay, fire, severed fingers, and Johnny making his daring escape. We are here to figure it out, even if we can't figure out our own timing.

The fire fight continues. Bullets, glass, and towel bars fly through the air. It's our most action packed minute yet, and after a brief discussion of long-defunct FX programming and early 90's anime, we get deep into it.

Finally we get some action. Johnny centers himself after a harrowing data upload, then all hell breaks loose. Mono-molecular whips, air powered guns, total mayhem. We break it down frame by frame.

What is a courier to do after uploading a dangerous amount of data into his wetware memory implants? Why, excuse himself to the restroom to freak out, of course. This minute is that freakout and our reaction to it. Hope it tickles your implants too.

This week's minute of Johnny Mnemonic is a blast through the (for some reason) visual representation of data being downloaded. There is not a lot of story to unpack, but there are a lot of visuals to meticulously comb through, and we attempt to do so with a fine toothed comb. Before that, we spend probably far too much time speculating about the world we will all emerge into once we have stopped NAS (or COVID-19).

After the obligatory quarantine talk that every podcast is likely doing these days, your hosts discuss some Johnny Mnmedia they consumed, then dive into the 11th minute, which they both thoroughly enjoy. Get ready for some sick 90s beats, some sick 90s trench coats, and some sick 90s special effects, because the download has begun.

Not a lot of dialogue in this minute, but a whole lot of scenery to chew on. Futuristic tech abounds and your hosts go piece by piece and try to figure out exactly how Johnny gets data from a hard copy into his wetware. We also get the first look at our creepy antagonists and promises of firefights to come. Speaking of wetware, I am moist with anticipation.

This week, due to the plague currently ravaging the earth, your hosts are each broadcasting from their own personal heavily fortified bunkers, and bringing you their own brand of cabin-fever ravaged humor as they (we) watch and review minute 9 of Johnny Mnemonic. It's an exposition heavy minute as we learn that Big J is gonna be in trouble if he exceeds his capacity. But Johnny knows better than that, right? Johnny would never exceed capacity. Right? Uh-oh.

Minute 8 is an exciting one. Smokey hotel rooms, razor girls, hired goons with submachine guns, and of course our favorite courier dropping iconic lines. We also discuss a variety of other things, some related to Johnny Mnemonic, some not.

This week starts with an email and a deleted scene from the week before. After that we get into the good cyberpunk stuff: Memory doublers, data jack cybernetics, and cheap matte paintings of 2021 Beijing.

This week on Johnny Mniminute we begin with two listener emails, one of which proves very difficult to read out loud. Then we get into Johnny's walk through a futuristic hotel lobby, encounter with some creepy children, and the fashion of 2021.

The fifth minute of Johnny Mnemonic finds Johnny finishing his phone call with Ralphie and heading off to beautiful Beijing, currently in the midst of plague and civil unrest. Sound familiar?
