Here is my honest 2 cents in comparing two back to back books i read - which revolve around same theme of concepts but approach them in different perspetives. Loved both the books as both make you think equally deep. Mochi is one of the first stories in the story collection book titled "Rudraveene" from author Bharatheepriya. This is a short story about a chance interaction between a backward caste cobbler named "Raacha" and a middle class well-to-do man - and the subsequent events after that. In the book "Janaki with Love" author Jogi examines this story with another similar story plot from P Lankesh called "Giliyu Panjaradallilla". Do check out that audio after listening to this story. Chapter 14 - This is the final chapter of the book. The Long Walk comes to an end in India where the team is allowed to finally rest and recover. They are treated for their mental trauma, allowed to rest as long as they would wish and doctors help treat them to recover. They finally bid their goodbye deciding what they would do now after their freedom.

Chapter 13 - The team gets to experience the other extreme of that of Gobi desert - the extreme cold - in Himalayas. Their desperation to finish their walk vs that of their exhausted body, mind and soul struggle is presented beautifully by the author. We come across to witness another person breathing their last by a sheer accident in this episode reducing the team count further by one in their last leap of journey. The chapter ends with the team finally landing in India and meetings a few security patrol officers there.

Chapter 12 - The team reaches Himalayas. The walk now leads them to steeps, deep trenches and valleys where they could hardly walk. They come up with a plan of using the things they have to make a sling so they could climb steeps through the rope instead of attempting to walk. We again get to witness one more death in this episode of a dear team member. It's now about February where they get to say good bye to Tibet's last village.

Chapter 11 - The team is now in Tibet. They find the first village of Tibet after 6 days walk from the old man in cave. The entire village come to talk to them via a village chief who understands and speaks Russian. The Russian speaking village man helps them with clear directions and useful tips for path ahead and provides food for on-going journey. The team is again humbled with the hospitality and having experienced it time and again in consistent manner all through their journey - they get their belief in humanity back after feeling like losing it forever due to their harsh prison experience in siberia.

Chapter 10 - The remaning members of the team exits Gobi desert and find path way ahead amongst rocky mountains. They get to meet an old man who lives in his cave with his dogs and sheep. The old man treats them to some delicacies and the team gets charmed by his hospitality. They inturn help him back by fixing his large cooking utensil with some handles and get some wood from forest for his fire needs.

Chapter 9 - The team enters Gobi desert and we get to visualize their terrifying journey in it. It details the true struggle in terms of both body and mind. One of the saddest episodes of the book - We witness two deaths among the team through this extreme strech of their journey.

Chapter 8 - In this episode the team enter Mongolia through Russian-Mangolian border around June 2nd week. They estimate that in about 60 days they have walked around 1400 miles. They also experience their first heavy rain-and-thunderstorm since their flight and struggle to find shelter during that period. They use the pig fat as medication for their wounds on their feet and body. There is also a brief enounter with a group of 12 mongolian travellers who had one camel, 2 horses and 4 donkeys. These travellers share some food that helps for the next leap of ongoing journey. The team next enter Gobi desert accidentally without knowing what lies ahead in their journey.

Chapter 7 - In this episode the team cross river Barguzin. It also details their encounter with few village men - one with a horse stable owner and other a mangolian father-son duo. It also details their scheming plan to steal a pig from its sty to satiate their hunger crunch.

Chapter 5 throws light on their struggle for food, their accidental encounter of a big deer and their plan to preserve and pack it for their upcoming days in the journey for food and footwear needs. Their path is now somewhere close by to Lake Baikal according to the narrator and they come across a sign board for the place called "Chechka". Once they swim and cross the Baikal lake, they come across railway track of trans siberian railway - which goes until town Vladivostok. At the end of the chapter, they have a chance encounter with a female named "Christina Polanska" - a Poland girl.
