- 115 - Rooted, Not Rushed: Not Every Season is Meant for Maximum Capacity
Hiiii friends!!!
I want to talk about something I’ve been recognizing in myself lately, and I have a feeling I’m not the only one. In fact, I know I am not the only one because as I started to marinate on this and bring it up in conversations, my friends quickly empathized and agreed that many of us
Somewhere along the way, I think we have started treating available capacity like an invitation to fill it.
If I have a free afternoon, surely there’s something productive I could do with it. If I have the ability to help someone, shouldn’t I? If an opportunity is good, why wouldn’t I take it? And if I used to be able to juggle all of these things, shouldn’t I be able to figure out how to do it again?
It’s almost like having room for something automatically means that room needs to be occupied. And the strange thing is, I can do this with really GOOD things. Work I love. People I care about. Opportunities I’m grateful for. Responsibilities I genuinely want to steward well. However, I’ve been wondering whether I’ve confused being faithful with being fully utilized??? Those are not necessarily the same thing.
Just because there is room for something in my life doesn’t mean God intended for it to live there.
In a world that constantly encourages us to optimize, expand, improve, and make the most of every available minute, margin is not allowed. Empty space on our calendar actually makes us feel uncomfortable sometimes. But what if some of the space we’re so eager to fill is actually space God wants us to protect? Not because He’s calling us to do nothing, but because He’s forming something in us that requires more than our ability to accomplish things.
Mon, 02 Nov 2026 - 33min - 114 - Rooted, Not Rushed: How to Be More Present in the Life You Already Have
Hiiii friends!!!
Okay, so last time we talked about the hidden cost of living scattered, and I feel like the natural question after that conversation is: Great. But how do we actually STOP?
I can tell myself be present all day long, but then I remember the toothpaste while I’m writing, grab my phone to order it, see a text, answer the text, remember something else I need to look up and somehow ten minutes later I’m reading reviews for something I never intended to buy AND WE STILL DON’T HAVE TOOTHPASTE.
So today, I want to get incredibly practical.
But first, I think we have to get RID of the idea that wholeness requires a less full life. There are seasons where life is FULL. People need us. Work needs us. Our families need us. There are appointments and deadlines and decisions and relationships and responsibilities that aren’t going anywhere. Some seasons are inherently more busy than others— that is reality. I am not expecting you to somehow find a different life, okay?
I don’t think wholeness means having fewer moving parts. I think it means those parts stop pulling us in opposite directions.
My body can be here while my mind is tomorrow. I can be doing something important while mentally following every thought that interrupts me. I can be responsible for one thing while emotionally carrying five others. None of those moments feels particularly significant, but by the end of the day, I’ve left little pieces of myself everywhere.
So how do we begin gathering them back?

Mon, 19 Oct 2026 - 35min - 113 - Rooted, Not Rushed: The Hidden Cost of Living Scattered
You can be sitting at dinner while your mind is answering an email. Playing with your kids while mentally preparing for tomorrow. Praying while thinking about the twelve things you need to do when you’re finished.
We’re physically in one place, mentally in another, emotionally carrying something from three hours ago—and wondering why we feel so tired.
In the first episode of the Rooted, Not Rushed series, Cleere is putting language around something so many of us are experiencing: scatteredness. Not necessarily a life that’s too busy, but a life where our attention, bodies, thoughts, and spirits rarely seem to occupy the same place at the same time.
We’ll talk about what this way of living is quietly costing us, why hurry is about more than the speed of our calendars, and how the habits we repeat are forming us. Because we are all being discipled—the question is, by whom or by what?
If you’ve ever ended a day wondering where it went—or realized you were technically present for your life but somehow missed a lot of it—this conversation is for you.
You don’t need a different life to become a different kind of person within it. Let’s start growing roots right here.
Mon, 05 Oct 2026 - 36min - 112 - The Summer You'll Wish You Had Back
Do you want to know the quickest way to feel seventeen again?
For me, it’s a concert.
There is something about live music that strips away the mental clutter. The to-do lists. The emails. The pressure. For a couple of hours, nobody is thinking about what happened yesterday or what’s waiting tomorrow. You’re simply there. Singing. Laughing. Remembering. Fully alive inside a moment you can’t get back.
A couple of weeks ago, Will and I went to Nashville with some dear friends for Alan Jackson’s final concert, and it was one of those nights I’ll remember for a long time. It was his farewell show so the artist lineup was unreal! Luke Combs, Thomas Rhett, George Strait— sooo many good ones! They weren’t just performing songs—they were telling stories. Then they’d step offstage, disappear into the crowd, and become fans again, singing every word with the rest of us.
As I looked around the stadium, I couldn’t stop thinking about how present everyone was. Thousands of people weren’t just hearing music. They were remembering first dances, high school summers, road trips, parents, grandparents, old friends, and seasons of life that had long since passed. One song somehow held the past and the present at the same time. It was as if everyone had collectively decided, “For these next few hours, I’m going to be fully here.”

Mon, 06 Jul 2026 - 22min - 111 - Raising Resilient Kids in an Anxious Culture with David Thomas & Sissy Goff
Have you ever watched your child struggle with something and immediately felt the urge to step in?
Maybe they couldn’t find the right words in a conversation.
Maybe they were frustrated by homework.
Maybe they forgot something important.
Maybe they felt nervous before an event.
Maybe they were disappointed by a friendship.
Or maybe they were standing on a stool trying to fill up their own water bottle, taking twice as long as it would take you.
Maybe they were struggling to zip their jacket.
Order their own meal.
Ask the question themselves.
Carry the bag.
Tie the shoe.
And before they even had a chance to work through it, you were already reaching for a solution.
Explaining. Fixing. Helping. Rescuing.
If you’re a parent, you know exactly what I’m talking about. Chances are, when it’s happening in real time, you don’t even realize you’re doing it.
Because watching our children struggle is uncomfortable.
Personally, I think it’s often harder to watch your child struggle than it is to face your own struggles. We love them. We want to protect them. We want to spare them unnecessary pain. We want to make things easier when we can.
Sometimes we see the obstacle before they do. Sometimes we see their potential and all the possibilities that lie ahead, and because we can spot the roadblock coming, we want to clear it before they ever reach it.
The motivation is beautiful. It’s love.
We love them so much that we want to spare them heartache. Frustration. Disappointment. Embarrassment. Failure. We want to cushion the fall before it ever happens. And honestly, this is something I think about all the time with Sledge.
As a special-needs parent, this question carries an extra layer for me. There are moments when helping is absolutely necessary.
Moments when support, advocacy, therapy, and intervention matter deeply.
But there are also moments when I find myself asking:
Am I helping because he truly needs help?
Or am I helping because I’m uncomfortable watching him struggle?
Because if I’m honest, there are times when Sledge has proven himself far more capable than I expected.
He adapts.
He perseveres.
He figures things out.He keeps trying. And over and over again, he reminds me that capability is often built in the very moments we’re tempted to step in.
Lately I’ve been wondering something.
What if, in our effort to help, we occasionally step in too soon?
What if some of the very experiences we’re trying to save our children from are the experiences that would help them discover what they’re capable of?
What if every time we rush in before they actually need us, we unintentionally communicate a message we never meant to send? Not, “I’ve got you.”
But, “I don’t think you’ve got this.”What if our constant rescuing quietly teaches them to doubt their own resilience?
To question their ability to problem-solve?
To believe that discomfort is something to escape rather than something they can move through?
Because confidence isn’t built when someone else always does it for us.
Confidence is built when we discover that we can do hard things. That we can recover.
That we can adapt.
That we can try again. That we can survive disappointment.
That we can face challenges and keep moving forward.
That God has equipped us for more than we realize.Even if we fall.
Even if it’s messy.
Even if it takes longer than we’d like.
Even if the water bottle spills all over the floor.
That’s why I was so excited to sit down with my friends Sissy Goff and David Thomas to discuss their new book, Capable: How to Teach Your Kids the Strengths, Skills, and Strategies to Build Resilience.

Mon, 15 Jun 2026 - 48min - 110 - Why Everything Feels So Urgent Right Now
Last week we talked about what happens when life pivots. How panic narrows our perspective. How our minds start filling in gaps God never filled in. How one conversation, one disappointment, one unanswered question can suddenly occupy far more emotional real estate than it deserves. We talked about the temptation to regain control when life feels uncertain and the invitation to trust God’s character when we don’t yet understand what He is doing.
But this week, I want to take that conversation one step further. I don’t want this to feel redundant but it felt important to walk through and camp out in for a moment. Because recognizing panic is one thing. Becoming steady is another.
When I revisit Genesis 22, what strikes me most is not the miracle at the end of the story. It’s not the ram in the thicket or even Abraham’s obedience. It’s the pace of the story— it’s the ordinary movements happening beneath extraordinary pressure.

Sun, 31 May 2026 - 35min - 109 - When Life Pivots: Staying Steady When Your Mind Starts to Spiral
There’s a story in Scripture that feels almost too extreme to relate to—and yet somehow, it speaks directly into this exact tension. Hang with me here for a second.
Genesis 22: 1-2 says:
Some time later, God tested Abraham’s faith. “Abraham!” God called.
“Yes,” he replied. “Here I am.”
“Take your son, your only son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.”
Here, God asks Abraham to take his son Isaac—the very promise he waited years (many years!!!!) for—and offer him as a sacrifice. A sacrifice. Yes, you read that correctly. It sounds assaulting and impossible that a loving God would ask that, doesn’t it? And Scripture doesn’t soften it. God even says, “your son, your only son, whom you love.” He’s not unaware of what He’s asking.
If I’m Abraham, I’m asking for confirmations, second opinions, and maybe a burning bush or five. But that’s not what we see. Abraham gets up the next morning… and he goes.
And here’s what’s wild: it’s not immediate. It’s a three-day journey.
“The next morning Abraham got up early. He saddled his donkey and took two of his servants with him, along with his son, Isaac. Then he chopped wood for a fire for a burnt offering and set out for the place God had told him about. On the third day of their journey, Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance. “Stay here with the donkey,” Abraham told the servants. “The boy and I will travel a little farther. We will worship there, and then we will come right back.”
Three days of walking.
Three days of thinking.
Three days of holding something that doesn’t make sense. And if we’re honest, that’s where most of us unravel. Personally, that sounds excruciating. There were some moments in the NICU after my son, Sledge was born where things felt really shaky and uncertain. There were so many what-ifs. I have very stark memories of begging Jesus, “Please Jesus, please let us keep him. I will never ask for another thing in this life. Please let us keep him and heal him.” The space between is always the hardest part— it is anything but passive. The waiting. The wondering. The time where your mind has room to spiral.

Mon, 18 May 2026 - 36min - 108 - Why “Let Me Know If You Need Anything” Isn’t Loving the Way We Think It Is
Have you ever walked through something hard—maybe a tragedy, a really heavy season, or even just a stretch where you’re juggling more than you can carry—and someone looks at you and says, “Let me know if you need anything”?
You smile. You say thank you. You mean it. And they mean it!!! But deep down, you already know… you’re not going to let them know. Not because you couldn’t use the help but because you don’t even know what you need. And even if you did, you’re not sure you have the energy to explain it, ask for it, or coordinate it.
There are moments in life when everything feels heavier than usual. Not always in ways you can explain—just an undercurrent of restlessness that swirls in your chest, a mental fog you can’t quite clear, a weight you’ve learned how to carry without naming. And in those moments, something in you goes quiet—not because you don’t feel cared for, but because you don’t feel met.

Tue, 28 Apr 2026 - 42min - 107 - 3 Questions That Have Changed My Marriage in Busy Seasons (AKA Life)
I think we all feel assaulted by how quickly the days seem to move by and how it is possible for us to care so deeply about something… and still feel like we are barely keeping up with it. Or even more honest—we are giving priority to so many other things and get distracted from investing in what matters most to us.At the top of this list—our marriage.Where we don’t mean to be, but somehow we feel disconnected. It’s not that we don’t care or that we are indifferent; rather, it’s that life is moving so fast and we have made it our normal to let the person we value the most next to Jesus receive the last of our energy, tenderness, and attentiveness of heart.Read more at cleerlystated.substack.com and subscribe to The Living Room!
Mon, 13 Apr 2026 - 44min - 106 - Don't Skip to Sunday
Have you ever noticed how the entire week leading up to Easter, we tend to focus almost exclusively on the resurrection?
The celebration. The revival. The empty tomb. We are HYPE!
We are planning for the Easter brunch or the easter egg hunt and all the ways we love to commemorate Easter— and all of these are GREAT and fun and HOLY things to do— I just think that sometimes, we forget how the very story we are celebrating actually transpired and what that means for our everyday reality.

Mon, 30 Mar 2026 - 43min - 105 - What Comes Back to Life When You Step Away
If you listened to last week’s episode, you know this series isn’t about demonizing the internet or pretending we can all move to the woods. That would be nice sometimes— real life gets exhausting. Uncomfortable. Hard. Confusing. But also, it is soooooooo good and so sweet— and my fear? That we miss so much of that. Not because we aren’t “spiritual enough” or because our faith is lacking; it is simply due to a lack of awareness.Online isn’t the enemy.Constant availability is.When we live perpetually “on,” something in us begins to thin out—our awareness, our presence, our capacity to receive what God is actually doing right in front of us.**More in-depth notes and outlines on https://cleerelystated.substack.com/
Mon, 16 Mar 2026 - 44min - 104 - The Cost of Always Being Connected
This conversation started not because I think social media or the internet is the enemy— that would be a little crazy considering you are reading this on an app and you most likely heard about it through social media. I am SO GRATEFUL for the gift of the online space, the community it provides, the resources it has illuminated, and the ability to connect with others in the most unique ways.
However, I started to notice that I was literally scrolling at night and I could not even tell you what I saw. I was numbing out and I knew it, and yet I kept doing it.
I noticed how tired my mind felt even when my body was still. How easily my attention scattered. How quickly I moved from one thing to the next without really being in any of it. Nothing dramatic. Just subtle. Quiet. Cumulative.

Mon, 02 Mar 2026 - 52min - 103 - What I've Learned about Making Friends as an Adult
Friendship didn’t stop mattering when we became adults.
It just became more layered, more tender, and more vulnerable.
The Bible never treats friendship as optional or superficial. From the very beginning, God said something was not good — and it wasn’t work, purpose, or responsibility. It was isolation.
“It is not good for man to be alone.” — Genesis 2:18
Friendship is not a bonus feature of life.
It’s part of how God forms us.
But because adult friendship looks different than it used to, there are a few quiet lies that tend to creep in — often unnoticed — and shape how we interpret our experiences.

So much of our anxiety, exhaustion, and restlessness isn’t coming from bad choices—but from unexamined ones.
Our calendars quietly shape our formation. What we allow onto them forms who we are becoming.
These nine questions aren’t rules. They’re bumpers—loving boundaries that help you steward your time with wisdom, peace, and faith.

Mon, 02 Feb 2026 - 30min - 101 - S3 EP18: Faith in the Fog: Why Proximity Matters More Than Clarity
Have you ever found yourself in a season where the unknowns feel stacked on top of each other? You’re praying, you’re showing up, you’re doing what you know to do—but the future still seems hazy. It’s like driving through heavy fog: you can see enough to keep moving forward, but what lies ahead feels blurred and out of reach.
Seasons like this can make you wonder if God is distant, distracted, or even silent. But what if the fog isn’t proof of His absence, but a space for deeper formation? What if, instead of clarity, God is offering you the gift of closeness? In this episode, we talk about how fog-filled seasons are often the places where God is most at work, reshaping your vision and anchoring your trust in Him. Could it be that the fog is your greatest gift to increase your faith and understand a new level of intimacy with the Shepherd?
Through honest stories, Scripture, and gentle rhythms for drawing near, you’ll be encouraged to:
• Name the fog that’s clouding your peace and perspective.
• Recognize the pull toward control when what you really need is communion.
• Anchor your heart in who God is, not just what He does.
• Choose praise as warfare when clarity is out of reach.
• Stay near to Jesus when the way forward feels uncertain.
If your heart feels unsettled, your prayers seem unanswered, or you’re simply weary from the not knowing, this conversation is for you. It’s a reminder that proximity to God—not clarity of the path—is what steadies you. The fog isn’t your enemy; it may be the very place God reshapes your vision and deepens your trust.
Mon, 25 Aug 2025 - 39min - 100 - S3 EP17: Love Your Life…Even When You Don’t Like It All the Time w/ Rachel Awtrey
What do you do when your life looks fine on the outside… but deep down, you’re wondering, “Is this really it?”
In this episode, I sit down with my friend Rachel Awtrey—host of the Real Talk with Rachel podcast and author of her brand new book, Love Your Life, Even When You Don’t Like It. Rachel is the girl you want in your corner: deeply honest, wildly encouraging, and somehow able to make you laugh and cry in the same breath.
We talk about what it looks like to actually love your life when it feels boring, heavy, or just plain hard. Not in a cheesy, throw-a-gratitude-journal-at-it kind of way—but in a real, boots-on-the-ground, Jesus-meets-you-in-the-middle kind of way.
Rachel shares:
• Why honesty is the doorway to freedom
• How to hold grief and gratitude at the same time
• The difference between joy for life and joy in life
• And the questions that helped her stop faking “fine” and start living free
If you’ve ever felt guilty for not loving the season you’re in—or if you’ve ever whispered “I love Jesus but I kind of hate this part of my life right now”—this episode is a safe, sacred space for you.
You don’t have to love every part of your life to love your whole life. This conversation will show you how.

Tue, 29 Jul 2025 - 1h 03min - 99 - S3 EP16: When You Feel Out of Control:Surrender, Identity & Praying for the People You Love with Jodie Berndt
What do you do when the outcome you want feels out of reach?
When the people you love are walking through things you can’t fix…
And when control feels like a survival tactic you just can’t shake?
In this episode, I sit down with Jodie Berndt—speaker, author, and the voice behind the Praying the Scriptures series—for a conversation that goes way beyond parenting.
Whether you’re single, married, parenting toddlers, teenagers, or simply trying to love the people in your life well… this episode is for you.
We talk about:
• Why surrender is at the heart of every healthy relationship (marriage, parenting, or otherwise)
• What it really means to trust God when your heart feels protective, anxious, or out of control
• How to pray Scripture over your marriage (and why praying for your spouse changes you, too)
• What to do when God feels silent
• Releasing the need for quick fixes and embracing the long game of faith
• Identity in seasons when prayers feel unanswered
This is not a conversation about perfect prayers or tidy outcomes. It’s about choosing trust over fear… surrender over striving… and remembering that God cares even more than we do.

What do you think about in the moments you believe might be your last?
When Vallie Collins boarded US Airways Flight 1549, she never imagined it would be known as the Miracle on the Hudson. And she certainly didn’t expect to hear the captain’s voice over the speaker say, “Brace for impact.” But on that cold January day in 2009, her life—and every perspective she held—was about to be radically redefined.
In this episode, Vallie opens up about the fear, surrender, and surreal clarity that met her in those final seconds before the crash… and how surviving it has forever changed the way she lives.
We talk about what legacy means when you’ve stared death in the face, how eternal perspective becomes more than just a concept, and why faith isn’t the absence of fear—but the courage to keep flying anyway.
Vallie shares what it was like to return to the air after the crash, how she’s raising her kids with a sense of grounded gratitude, and why she believes every single day is a miracle worth noticing.
Her story is a breath of perspective, a challenge to live with intention, and a reminder that when your feet touch the ground again—physically or spiritually—you don’t walk the same.
This conversation will leave you asking:
• What really matters when everything else fades?
• How would I live differently if I truly believed each day was a gift?
• Am I living in a way that reflects what I want to leave behind?
Tune in for a story that will stir your soul, soften your fears, and inspire you to live more fully today—because you never know what moment will change everything.

What’s it like to grow up with a front-row seat to fame, only to find yourself center stage in a story you never saw coming?
In this episode, Cleere sits down with the radiant and real Mattie Jackson—author, speaker, podcast host, and daughter of country music legend Alan Jackson—for a conversation that’s equal parts heartache and healing, grit and grace.
Mattie opens up about what it was like to grow up in the spotlight, and how even that couldn’t prepare her for the deep grief of losing her husband just months into marriage. She shares how grief can shape us into people we barely recognize—not because we’re weak, but because we’re suddenly living in a world we never prepared for. And yet… God.
This episode is rich with wisdom, full of laughter, and tenderly honest. Together, we talk about:
• What happens when your life no longer looks like your life
• The “limbo years” where God rebuilds slowly and sweetly
• How to stay open to joy, even when it feels like betrayal

• What Mattie’s learning now about love, dating, and rebuilding

Does the thought of putting on a bathing suit this summer make you anxious or ashamed?
Do you struggle to see yourself the way God speaks about you? Do you even know what He says about you?
Do you struggle with knowing how to nourish yourself or how to move your body in a way that pleases the Lord?

My dear friend, Nicoletta Bradley, founder of Noble Ministry, talks through a lot of these questions and let me just tell you— it is FIRE.
Between the narrative of social media and the impossible standards imposed by culture, the noise is LOUD. How do we lean into the Word in the areas of food and fitness and restore our faith in what the Maker says?

In this convo, my DEAR friend, Meshali Mitchell, digs into the process the Lord has taken her through— both in her own soul and literally as she restores a farmhouse that has now become her home.
The truth is, if you want to experience love of any kind, you will have to risk rejection, hurt, and the pain that comes from being loved by imperfect people. As Meshali walks through her own personal healing process in her new book, “Restored: Partnering with God in Transforming our Broken Places”, she offers such deep practical insight that will meet you right where you are. And the way Meshali dives into scripture and helps you apply the Word of God is unparalleled — I’m so grateful for this conversation and this book!
Life will be the continual process of healing until we become fully restored in Heaven. But until then? We get to partner with God as He breathes fresh wind and true healing to the deepest parts of our soul.

Mon, 14 Apr 2025 - 1h 18min - 92 - S3 EP09: How do you know when it’s the voice of God?
I think this is a question we all ask ourselves, right? How do we know that we know that we know when it’s God speaking? What if it’s not?
In this episode, I walk through four “tests” per se, that might help you discern whether what you’re hearing is actually the voice of God.
Hint: It doesn’t sound like Morgan Freeman and it’s usually not a burning bush. Disappointing, I know.
But truly, we tend to over spiritualize what it sounds like or assume that it’s only on special occasions or big decisions but in reality, the Heavenly Father is always speaking!
Through His people,
Through His Word,
Through prayer,
Through dreams,
Through all kinds of places and particulars, His voice is reminding you that you’re seen, significant, and safe.
The kicker? His voice usually calls us to get uncomfortable, release some things that we want to hold onto, or calling us to step up in ways we feel ill-equipped.
John 10:27 says, “My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me."
You are His sheep. He is your Shepherd. You have the Holy Spirit. You hear His voice right where you are.
.
I hope as you make space for quiet and lean in, this podcast will help remind you that you already hold the superpower of having direct access to the King of Kings. It’s absolutely extraordinary, and it’s true.
Mon, 07 Apr 2025 - 30min - 91 - S3 EP08: Tired of Being Tired: How to find Realistic Rest with Jess Connolly
You know the cycle: You start the day already exhausted and end it defeated, all the while telling yourself things will get better if you can just power through this week. Is this how God intended for us to live? How do we enter into the abundant life God offers us? Best-selling author, pastor, speaker, podcast host, and leader Jess Connolly talks all about this and her journey of writing, “Tired of Being Tired” helped her discover a new way of living.

Maybe you feel like you don’t have what it takes to walk in the direction God has called you?
Maybe you see others operating in their strengths + gifts and you think, “If only _____ weren’t true”?

Your brain seems to catalog everything you LACK but you can sense the spirit nudging you as He whispers, “My love is greater still. Follow me.”
.
The truth?
God doesn’t qualify the ready; He readies the called. He wants to walk with you + partner with you right where you are. There is no place to “arrive” at before this becomes true; the arrival IS the process itself.
And His abundant plan for you never includes burnout, striving, or overwhelming your capacity in your current season.

Mon, 17 Mar 2025 - 1h 03min - 88 - S3EP05: Holy Fear vs. Worldly Fear
Everyone always says, “You shouldn’t operate out of fear.” And I only HALFWAY agree with that. I would clarify and say this: YOu must operate out of the right kind of fear.
We are always operating out of fear of something. It’s how we are wired.
Either we are operating out of worldly fear and that drives us or we are living out of holy fear and that is guiding us.
Fear isn’t a negative thing; it’s WHO and WHAT we fear that determines whether we experience deep abundance or debilitating anxiety.
.
In this episode, we dig into the difference…how do we notice when we are living in worldly fear and how do we live in a holy fear that reveres God instead?
What does this look like?

Mon, 17 Feb 2025 - 1h 17min - 84 - S3 EP 01: Welcome back!!!!, Let them theory + Power of prayer
We are backkkkkk!!!!:)
Season 3 is kicking off with a short and sweet episode where we talk about a few things that have really been helpful for me this year and I think could bless you!
The “let them” theory by Mel Robbins— I’m sure you’ve seen it everywhere but it is truly transformational if you walk it out! This theory asks the question, “What is truly my responsibility?”. Let’s just say I didn’t realize how often I was taking responsibility for things that I had ZERO control over!
The power of PRAYER: The Lord has been reminding me of this truth over and over again through my own life and those around me— there is nothing like the power of prayer! Specific prayers open your eyes in ways nothing else can. Bold prayers increase your faith in ways nothing else can. We talk about how I’ve seen this with Sledge’s life!
Healing is a Heavenly process that is unique to each and every situation. How you define it matters greatly in how you experience it.

It’s that time of year! Gatherings and festivities and managing life’s obligations and sometimes, we forget that our peace isn’t negotiable. We get caught up in the hustle of life and the pressure of the world around us, tying our peace to the ever-going ships of people, places + particulars around us instead of the anchor Himself. And though we know it happens, we still find ourself doing it! Frazzled, frustrated, and frantic in spirit, we try to survive the holidays instead of thrive as we experience them. HOW CAN THIS YEAR BE DIFFERENT?! In this episode, we dig into how to revive our peace this holiday season. With Jesus, it IS possible, no matter the circumstance we’re facing or enduring. Let’s commit to pursuing peace, whatever it requires. ‘Tis the season for a new way— a life-giving way— that savors the present + surrenders the unimportant.

Where do we even start with talking about the person who provides meaning to all other things, changing the timeline for every person and place, and who died so that we can have life?
In this episode, we sort through some questions like what was most important to Jesus? And what did He do when He was discouraged?

Mon, 09 Sep 2024 - 42min - 76 - S2 EP 17: The Reward is in the Waiting.
We are all in seasons of waiting…whether it be navigating a season of transition, waiting on an answer to prayer or a promise to come to pass, yearning for healing or restoration to happen or whatever it may be, we all know how hard the process of waiting can be. And yet— it is often the surest way to welcome holiness and understand what it actually means to have peace beyond understanding…because only when your preferences and timeline are challenged can your true source of trust and contentment be revealed.
In this episode, we dig into how to wait WELL. What does Jesus say about it? Why does it feel so hard sometimes? How do we prepare our hearts to wait?
No matter what your circumstances look like or where you find yourself right now, this episode will meet you right where you are.

Mon, 26 Aug 2024 - 42min - 75 - S2 EP 16: 10 things I relearned in Texas
In this episode, we walk through ten things that the Holy Spirit continuously reminded me of during our recent trip to Texas for Sledge’s physical therapy camp. Though not revolutionary, I firmly believe these reminders will challenge, encourage, and refresh you in whatever season you find yourself in right now.
Life on earth is short and yet, we spend so much time focusing on things that don’t matter and then trying to understand why our soul feels restless. That is mercy— pure grace— that we would hear the Father’s whisper in a million different ways as He calls us back to Himself and assures us that the satisfaction, richness, and meaning we are searching for can only be found in and through Him.
Praying that this episode meets you where you are. What is God speaking to you right now? Are you listening? Have you stopped long enough to hear Him?
Mon, 12 Aug 2024 - 43min - 74 - S2 EP15: Unfiltered: The Cost + Reward of Vulnerability
In order to truly live unfiltered and bring the unfiltered version of ourselves to the feet of Jesus, we must be willing to pay the cost of vulnerability. What are the risks? Is it safe? How do we know when to be vulnerable? And what happens if we aren’t willing? Do the costs outweigh the rewards? In this episode, we dig into both and learn what our Heavenly Father says about the power and necessity of being vulnerable. If we were crafted for relationship, is it possible to have a fruitful life and remain filtered? Let’s ask Jesus together!
Mon, 08 Jul 2024 - 50min - 73 - S2 EP14: Unfiltered: Real, Raw, + Redeemed by Jesus
What does it really mean to live unfiltered before Jesus? What prevents us from living unfiltered lives? What has our filtered culture and mindset done to us? How do we pursue lives of authenticity and transparency in a world obsessed with image and a culture consumed with curation + conformation? In this episode, we dig into what it really means to be unfiltered— in the way that Jesus asks + longs for us to be— the kind that produces peace and ensures our contentment + safety. We long to be known, yet we apply filters on the inside + outside of our lives, not allowing anyone, even ourselves, to really know us…how does this affect us? How do we live differently? Mon, 01 Jul 2024 - 42min - 72 - S2 EP13: Unfiltered: Trusting God with your influence w/ Brittany Sjogren of @loverlygrey
You probably already know my dear friend, Brittany Sjogren— the beautiful face and heart behind the Instagram, @loverlygrey. In this episode, we talk about how different perception is from reality, how boundaries are necessary to protect our peace, and how to find true fulfillment in an industry that can easily leave you chasing the next thing. Brittany is honest, wise, and authentic; her willingness to go against the grain is so refreshing and I can’t wait for you to hear her heart in this episode. If you’ve been procrastinating on pursuing your dreams, if you’ve been reluctant to show up because the desired space you’re interested in is too saturated, or if you’re burnt out from plowing the field and wondering if it’s worth it to keep going, this episode will meet you right where you are. It will encourage you, remind you of the power of hard work, and inspire you to trust the Holy Spirit with whatever you put your hands to. The truth is, we all have influence exactly where we are; the difference will be whether we realize that influence and what we choose to do with it. Take a note from Brittany: The world needs the unfiltered version of you!
Mon, 24 Jun 2024 - 1h 09min - 71 - S2 EP12: Jesus is with you always
In this podcast, we dig into the word “with”- the four-letter, incredibly common word used a million times in our everyday vernacular but I personally think it might be the most powerful word in the english language. I know that’s a big statement but you’ll see what I mean as we dig deeper together. With: the notion of togetherness. Camaraderie. When you are with someone, you are not alone. I would argue that it is WHO you are WITH that changes your experience the most– not even where you are or what you’re going through or whatever it may be but the company you keep while you’re there.

Simplicity. Having a simple life. Pursuing the simple things…it all sounds so…rosy yet unrealistic, right? In this episode, we will dig into the how, what, who, and why behind pursuing a simple life— clearing the clutter and leaving room for what matters.
Mon, 06 May 2024 - 40min - 67 - S2 EP08: Rhythms of a Resilient Life with Rebekah Lyons
Life is busy and most seasons are filled with asking the question, “God, how do I do this well and not tire out?” Especially amidst the hard seasons, it is crucial to have priorities in order and rhythms in place to protect your peace and allow you to freely operate with joy. In this episode, one of my favorite authors and communicators dives into how to do this in very realistic and practical ways. Notorious for her books, “You are Free” and “Rhythms of Renewal”, her latest book, “Resilient” shows us how to walk forward in the really hard seasons— having healthy infrastructure helps us dig in when we want to give up. Don’t miss this episode— I promise it’ll encourage + challenge you!
Mon, 22 Apr 2024 - 45min - 66 - S2 E07: Words Matter
Words. Why are they so important? Why do they matter? What rewards or consequences do they bring? How do we choose good ones? How do we harness negative ones? What does it look like to glorify Jesus with our words?
Jesus has SO much to say about words! And what do we use every single day to communicate with those we love, those we just meet, and everyone around us? WORDS! The words we speak to others, our prayer life, our internal chatter, and the words we receive on a daily basis— all of these facets are vital for us to recognize where we invite life or death.
The power of the tongue is a game-changer in every situation, season, and struggle. What direction are you steering if your tongue is the rudder? Does it please God? We will dive deep and hopefully gain a better understanding of what it looks like to water words of life and hope.

In this episode, we will dig into the word surrender and what Jesus has to say about it. God is always speaking— sometimes, it feels like the faintest whisper, and other times, it’s as loud as a mighty roar. In this episode, we dig into 5 things God is teaching me and why I feel like they matter; though not revolutionary or complex, His constant nudges are always the way to a fruitful and faithful life.
My prayer is that as you listen, the Holy Spirit might whisper to your own heart. Does something resonate with you? Or what has He been saying to your heart— and better yet, have you been listening?

Amidst the madness of life and the going, going, going, I think it's always so healthy and helpful to take a step back and ask yourself: What is God teaching me right now? Am I listening? And when I hear Him, do I have the faith and courage to follow?
In this episode, Cleere dives into three different things God is teaching her right now...3 things that the Holy Spirit has continually prompted and brought to her spirit...
1. How do we find order? We all crave it.
2. Are we supposed to avoid tension in our relationships? Can it truly be helpful?
3. What happens we talk about how big Goliath is? Does it help us fight?
As you listen, think about the things God is showing your spirit. Turn down the voices and get still...He is speaking.

We tend to put creating in a box...placing "creative" underneath the column of painters, photographers, artists, etc. But in reality, God created all of us to create! In this episode, we dig into the reasons why we tend to stay small, insecure, quiet, or unsure about the gifts He has given us, the space He has us, and the places He calls us to.
It's time to think outside the box. It's time to welcome back our imagination, dip into our innovative spirits, and ask Jesus to help us show up with bold creativity, not missing a single thing He has for us.

This podcast finds us all in a variety of circumstances and situations, doesn't it? Some of us are in seasons of parenthood, singleness, new jobs, or big transitions. Others are navigating their through a new normal they never asked for and still are praying away.
However, what we all desperately want is to live a life that is steady and peaceful, no matter what rocks our boat-- aka, to have a trusting heart. But HOW? When life is so crazy and so uncertain and often messy, how does that even happy?
In this episode, Cleere walks through the acronym of TRUST and the different steps and reminders we can activate to live a life where we really can rest and say, "It is well with my soul"--wherever life takes us.

Mon, 21 Mar 2022 - 36min - 48 - EP 47: When your Normal gets Hijacked
For all of us lately, "normal" has felt a thing of the past. With the constant uncertainty looming and life's ever-changing tides, how do we maintain our peace? Our hope? Our joy? Our faith? In this episode, Cleere will talk about how her family's normal was hijacked when their son, Sledge, was born at 26 weeks old in July (hence the gap between this episode and the last!) and the decision they had to make in order to faithfully navigate life in the hospital for 119 days. With that life change, Cleere realized she had two choices: She could either react or respond. That's our choice everyday, isn't it? But the truth is, we always have a choice— when we walk by the Spirit, no matter how difficult our circumstances or how uncertain our future seems, we can always RESPOND knowing Jesus is on the clock and He is for our lives. It will change everything when we do. Sometimes we believe the lie that freedom is the ability to do whatever we want, go wherever we please, and have whatever we desire. However, we see that with Jesus and throughout Scripture, a life lived like this ends in destruction, anxiety, fear, shame, and confusion. The abundant life is ONLY found in trusting God, obeying Him, and believing that the boundary lines He has drawn for our lives are in pleasant, secure places. God never leads us to places that restrict our lives; rather, He protects them. His instruction is always preserving our future, regardless of how it may feel in the moment. Do we trust HIs heart? How are we using our freedom now? Is it the life we hoped for?

Mon, 07 Jun 2021 - 31min - 39 - EP 38: Cultivate what Lasts
We often spend our lives working really, really hard towards things that don't matter in the long run. Or we spend our time desiring a harvest of righteousness but not being willing to plow the field and show up to create it. Or we get discouraged by what we thought would happen, the expectations we placed on the work, or the stress that is induced by it, and we wonder: What does all of this even amount to?
In this episode, we will dig into what it means to really cultivate a life that matters and a legacy that lasts. We were always created to work and we have ALL that we need to show up and tend to the last we've been given-- it's time to recognize the space we are in, speak life over the harvest, put in the work, and trust God with all else.

We live in a fast-paced world full of constant motion, things happening, and obligations. These are EXCITING things but we often get so used to the pace of the rollercoaster, we don't realize how drained we are. We have normalized the poor boundaries in our lives and cultivated habits that lead more to our burnout than our building up.
So...what do we do? What needs to change? What does Scripture say? And is it truly possible to live from a constant place of refreshment? Well, we will dig in and I promise, it'll encourage you wherever you are, whatever you have going on, and in whatever season you find yourself navigating.

Mon, 17 May 2021 - 37min - 37 - EP 36: Stay in His Presence, Trust His Preparation
It's not super romantic to think about having to "stay" when we are ready to GO! Going is more fun, more adventurous, more impressive, right? But sometimes, it is the places we want to run from that God is most using to refine us.
As we learn to stay in His presence and learn His heart, we are reminded that we can always trust the preparation of the King. There is great promise and purpose where He has us.
And chances are, the harder it is to stay, the more He is calling us to stay in Him, depending on Him for our perseverance, endurance, and strength. We can do hard things because He is with us, in us, and watches after our way-- wherever we travel.

Mon, 10 May 2021 - 38min - 36 - EP 35: Hope in Restoration
We all want the pretty house and the completed projects-- it feels good, looks impressive, and helps us feel good about our current state of affairs. However, our Heavenly Father is so not worried about how things appear-- His concern is the state of our hearts. How are we really doing? Is there an issue, struggle, relationship, or thought pattern that we need restoration in but we are fearful to admit to ourselves, others, or Him?
He is the King of restoration and His type of restoration is not just repairing something to be functional or improving it's condition back to it's original form; He restores beyond recognition. His lavished grace, undeserved kindness, and rich mercy meet us in our mess and transform our minds, hearts, and lives beyond our comprehension.
Let's not wait...let's allow for the deep work and trust that He really can bring life back into anything. Our hope? Oh it is here and it is rich because our Savior will settle for nothing less.

What does it mean to be rooted in Jesus? How do we cultivate deep roots so that when the storms of life come, we won't be afraid, worried, or insecure?
Being rooted is ultimately the greatest desire of our lives-- to know that no matter what, we have security and certainty in where we stand. That is what Jesus offers and His well does not run dry but there are practical steps that help us rip out the weeds, trust our God-given identity, and BELIEVE that He is for us.
When we are a rooted people, the world will want what we have and question how we got there.

Mon, 26 Apr 2021 - 35min - 34 - EP 33: Movement Keeps us Alive
Movement-- the literal act of moving our bodies-- is obviously necessary to keep us alive. Well, when it comes to moving towards God, it is also what keeps us alive! Physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, etc. We can not operate in faith or receive the abundant life He has promised us if we do not move towards Him. It doesn't have to be massive steps; rather, it's often the daily, hand-to-the-plow moments that help strengthen our faith, solidify our foundation, stimulate our peace of mind, and stabilize our hearts.

JOY!!!
The word alone sounds like what it means, doesn't it!? But I think sometimes we feel like joy is this elusive feeling that is unattainable for us or is dependent upon certain circumstances coming to fruition. However, the kind of joy that Jesus offers has nothing to do with our how, our what, or our when-- it has everything to do with our who. WHO are we seeking to find our joy?
We will dig into some crucial, practical ways that will help us not just walk in joy but LEAP for joy! Kingdom joy-- it's something different.

Mon, 05 Apr 2021 - 35min - 31 - EP 30: Release to be Refreshed
"Let go and let God." We know the phrase and we even understand the power of it, but often the reality of our lives and the hardness of our habits meets us on the other side and we don't quite know what to do with it. And what do we let go? And when? And when we do let go, how do we know we will be okay? What if what God is asking us to release is keeping us temporarily secure, even if it's unhealthy? What if we let others down as we let go of what our Father asks of us? Release--- we will dig into this word and our doubts, hesitancies, and fears with letting go. Because when we do release-- when we truly surrender something to the Father's hands, our lives will always be richer, greater, and better on the other side of it.

Do you feel like you are running around like a chicken with your head cut off at all moments? Physically exhausted, emotionally drained, and spiritually lacking.
Or maybe you feel like you need to get a little pep in your step and you're struggling with gaining the momentum or motivation to take a step forward?
As we dig into this word "pace", we see that we were never supposed to let the world, others, or ourselves determine our rate. We have the Holy Spirit and as we walk in-step with Him, we learn that He is our pacer, ensuring our success and helping us every moment of the way.
The pace of grace allows us to enjoy the view, trust the One who is leading us, and experience lasting peace no matter how hard the journey gets.

Mon, 15 Mar 2021 - 31min - 29 - EP 28: Silence settles the soul
How often do you really allow silence to be the background? I mean, true silence. Not the kind where we are sorting through a mental checklist while music plays in the background but the kind that can feel deafening and uncomfortable. The truth about silence is that it often strips of any language and distraction and forces us to realize our own need-- Where are we really at? What is God saying?
Silence allows us to dig past what is on the surface and allows the Holy Spirit to deal with what the inside looks like. All throughout Scripture, Jesus took the time to find silence, knowing that if He wanted to really hear His Heavenly Father, He was going to have to be intentional and disciplined about making room. Do we make space?
This episode digs into the benefits and importance of making silence our background so that we can live with a soul that is settled in knowing He is God and we are not.

Tue, 09 Mar 2021 - 31min - 28 - EP 27: The Necessity of Honesty
I don’t think many of us would walk around claiming that we aren’t living “honest lives.” But do we really understand what that means? Jesus defines honesty way differently than we do- what does He have to say? And if we truly believe that His way is best, what keeps us from doing so? In this episode, we will dig deep into several things that prevent us from honesty and several ways we can begin to practice our Heavenly Father’s definition of this word.

Mon, 01 Mar 2021 - 40min - 27 - EP 26: The Power of Little
It's the story of our lives: We all fear that what we have is too little. It's not enough to truly make a difference, right? However, we see that all throughout scripture, amidst the stories of the Bible, and in our everyday experiences, it is our LITTLE + God's supernatural power that makes A LOT of difference.
And what about those little sins that we let fester, slowly letting them suck the life out of our garden? We often don't realize how these little things build and slowly become the wall that keeps us from getting to where God has asked us to go or be the people God has asked us to be.
Trust Him with your little. Dig deep-- what's your next right thing? How can you show up in little ways each day?

Mon, 22 Feb 2021 - 32min - 26 - EP 25: Finding Clarity in the Chaos
Lots of voices. So many options. The pressure we feel. The fears that come knocking. The life we had planned. All of it— it’s so much— how do we find clarity at the intersections of life and amidst our daily happenings? In a world that tries to convince us Jesus is confusion, we dig into the different things that HELP and HINDER our clarity. How can we find the answers we are looking for? It is probably far simpler than we think.
Mon, 15 Feb 2021 - 36min - 25 - EP 24: He's Always on Time
When it comes to everything in our lives, timing is always related. When will it happen? Am I behind in life? Should I go after this goal now? Am I ready to handle that particular thing? Why isn't my prayer getting answered right now?
Digging into what Scripture tells us about the timing of God, we are reminded of the treasures of trusting in His timing. We will grab the plow together in this episode and get to work because the reality is-- we all struggle with this sometimes, right? But if we can begin to really anchor ourselves in the consistency of His character and know that He is always, always, always on time? We can get busy living and let Him decide on the when :)

Mon, 08 Feb 2021 - 33min - 24 - EP 23: Don't Wait to Arrive
We all have this gap between our actual selves and our ideal selves-- the gap that we work, strive, and exhaust ourselves trying to close on our own. We tend to fall prey to the lies that if we had more _____, we would experience fulfillment. When we arrive on the mountaintop, THEN we will partner with God and get courageous about where He is calling us, right?!
However, we see it in Scripture and all throughout our lives that God isn't interested in the person that we wish that we were; He is interested in our actual, real, authentic, broken, imperfect but made-by-Him selves. That is some GOOD NEWS.
Don't wait to arrive! Now, here, in this moment-- it's time to begin.

Mon, 01 Feb 2021 - 38min - 23 - EP 22: Seek Jesus, Find Fulfillment
What does it mean to really seek God? In our distracted and self-focused culture, sometimes we confuse desiring a solution with seeking God. As we lean in and learn His heart, we realize that we can trust His ways. The details of our lives may remain a mystery for now but the presence of the One leading us? He is absolute.
What we seek, we find. And as we seek Him, we find everything else. He orders our priorities, establishes our steps, and guides us in the way everlasting.
What does your life say about how you view God and His sovereignty? Does your prayer life suggest that you really believe He is who He says He is?

Mon, 25 Jan 2021 - 33min - 22 - EP 21: Establishing Rhythms of Grace
A new year brings renewed desire to set goals and establish better habits. But what if the secret is not found in our goals and is based on the rhythms we set for our lives? Are your current rhythms aligned with the person you hope to be and the legacy you hope to leave? If not, why? As we dig into this word, we will set up some helpful boundaries, questions, and tools to equip us to build a foundation that propels us forward and allows us to run hard after Jesus.
We were never created to run at breakneck speed or operate with unrealistic expectations setting our course; As we seek His desire for our lives and lean into what Scripture has to say, we will get honest about what we need to let go and get real about what He wants us to pick up.

How often do we let the roadblocks of offense, bitterness, and shame get in our way? Jesus tells us time and time again that forgiveness is not an option; it is a command. A necessity. It is the only way to usher in freedom— to walk in the very forgiveness we have been offered and to freely give it to others. Digging into this topic, we will talk through several practical ways we can practice forgiveness in our everyday lives.

Fri, 08 Jan 2021 - 47min - 19 - EP 18: Life or Death: You Choose
Sounds dramatic to say that we are the ones who decide whether we walk in life or death but Scripture tells us time and time again— we get to choose: Will we experience life and trust God or will we invite death by reaching for control? In our daily actions, reactions, and everyday happenings, we are constantly deciding whether we invite life or death. It is easy to see how big, significant decisions are important but we fail to remember that these big decisions are often made through the foundation of a million little decisions. Who are we on a consistent basis? As we tap into this discussion, we study about the beginning story of Adam and Eve and what we can learn from the decisions that they made. Going into 2021, there is so much freedom and possibility. Let’s choose to look for. lean into, and trust the leadership of God.

Mon, 04 Jan 2021 - 38min - 18 - EP 17: Keep Alert, Protect what’s precious
We protect what we believe is valuable, important, and significant. Jesus tells us to keep alert because the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, waiting for something to devour. Do we take this seriously? When we vigilantly protect, we victoriously prevail. When it comes to our daily lives, we must be alert to the many ways that the enemy does everything he can to take our joy, our faith, our hope, etc.
