Season Finale
As we wrap up another season of Lucid Cafe, astrologer Linda River Valente returns to help us make sense of the astrological landscape unfolding during the second half of 2026.
Together, we explore the major planetary movements shaping the months ahead—from a summer filled with unexpected revelations and pivotal eclipses to the reflective invitation of the autumn retrograde season. Rather than predicting specific events, Linda offers a broader perspective on how these cycles may influence both our personal lives and the collective story we're living through.
Whether you're an astrology enthusiast or simply searching for perspective during rapidly changing times, this episode is an invitation to slow down, stay curious, and remember that even in periods of profound transformation, there is wisdom to be found in the unfolding.

If you've ever felt like you were "bad" at meditation, this conversation may completely change the way you think about the practice.
In this episode of Lucid Cafe, I’m joined by author, futurist, and consciousness researcher Peter Russell to discuss his book How to Meditate Without Even Trying. Peter challenges one of the biggest misconceptions about meditation—that it requires effort. In fact, he explains, trying too hard is often the very thing that keeps the mind from settling.
Together, we explore a refreshingly simple approach to meditation based on gentle awareness rather than concentration. Peter shares practical ways to step back from habitual thinking, relax into the present moment, and cultivate a quieter, more spacious mind without force or frustration.
Our conversation also ventures into the nature of consciousness, intuition, and the surprising benefits that emerge when we stop trying to control our experience and instead allow awareness to unfold naturally.

In this episode of Lucid Cafe, I’m joined by bestselling author, intuitive, and teacher Colette Baron-Reid to explore a fresh and surprisingly creative approach to manifestation.
Drawing (no pun intended!) from her new book, The Art of Manifesting, Colette shares a simple doodle-based practice she calls "frequency art"—a meditative process designed to help rewire unconscious patterns, cultivate alignment, and support meaningful change from the inside out. But as you'll discover, this conversation is about much more than manifesting goals.
Together, we explore the relationship between creativity, consciousness, gratitude, surrender, and personal responsibility. Colette shares stories from her own journey, including lessons learned through recovery, decades of experimenting with vision boards, and the realization that true manifestation isn't about controlling outcomes—it's about becoming the person who can receive what is meant for them.

In this episode, I’m joined by philosopher, grief educator, and author Tom Attig for a thoughtful conversation about grief, meaning, and the mysteries of being human.
Tom helped create the world’s first PhD program in applied philosophy and has spent decades exploring the questions that can’t be neatly solved — questions about love, suffering, death, impermanence, and uncertainty. Together, we explore why grief is not a series of stages to complete, but rather a lifelong process of “relearning the world.”
We talk about what it means to continue loving and missing those we’ve lost, the importance of remembrance and legacy, and why our culture’s discomfort with death often leaves grieving people feeling isolated. Tom also shares his perspective on spirituality beyond religion, the difference between soul and spirit, and how humility and curiosity can help us navigate life’s biggest mysteries.
This conversation is a gentle reminder that some things are not meant to be solved — only lived, loved, and carried with us

In this lively and inspiring episode, I’m joined by author and speaker Wendy Valentine to explore what really lies on the other side of a so-called midlife crisis.
Wendy shares her powerful story of breakdown and breakthrough—navigating divorce, financial strain, health challenges, grief, and anxiety—and how it ultimately became the catalyst for a complete life transformation. Rather than seeing midlife as something to endure, she reframes it as an awakening: a chance to reconnect with who you truly are and what you deeply want.
We talk about the courage to take bold, imperfect action, the importance of ending self-abandonment, and how learning to trust your inner “yes” and “no” can guide you toward a more aligned and fulfilling life. Wendy also shares the mindset shifts and practices that helped her rebuild—from following an unexpected dream to embracing growth through life’s most difficult moments.
This conversation is a reminder that it’s never too late to begin again—and that what feels like everything falling apart may actually be the beginning of something far more true.

Drawing from over two decades of experience, Lynda describes her unique approach to healing — one that bypasses the rational mind and speaks directly to deeper layers of being through modalities like dreamwork, plant medicines, and light language. We explore the role of dreams as “first medicine,” a powerful inner oracle that can guide intuition and self-understanding through personal symbolism. Our conversation also touches on trauma-informed work with psychedelics, including psilocybin and 5-MeO-DMT, the restorative potential of Amanita muscaria, and the importance of integration, safety, and intention in these practices. I’m joined by clairvoyant reader, healer, and teacher Dave Clark for a powerful and deeply personal conversation about intuition, healing, and what it really means to “see” clearly.
Dave shares how his work centers on reading energy to uncover the unconscious patterns shaping our relationships, health, and life path — not by predicting the future, but by helping people reconnect with their own inner knowing. We also explore his approach to mediumship and the profound healing that can come from connecting with loved ones who have passed.
We also dive into the practical side of intuitive development: deprogramming the analytical mind, working with emotional reactivity, cultivating discernment in an overwhelming information landscape, and honoring ethical boundaries in healing work.
This is a rich and grounded exploration of intuition, loss, and transformation — and an invitation to trust your own capacity to see more clearly.

In this episode, I sit down with the passionate Alanna Kaivalya to explore the lost — yet ever-present — power of the feminine. While modern women have more freedom than ever to shape our lives and careers, many of us still measure success through a masculine lens, chasing goals and strategies that don’t reflect our deepest desires.
This conversation is not about rejecting the masculine, but about reclaiming the feminine — the intuitive, connective, and compassionate energy that too often gets sidelined. Alanna, a bestselling author and spiritual teacher, shares insights from her new book The Way of the Satisfied Woman, a powerful guide for anyone seeking an alternative path to fulfillment.
Together, we discuss how embracing the feminine can liberate us from burnout, invite greater ease, and reconnect us with what matters most: meaningful relationships, inner peace, and authentic expression.

It was Vermont's turn for another catastrophic climate event because, as you know, climate change is a hoax (sarcastic face emoji). Last week the already saturated central corridor of Vermont received an additional 6-8 inches of rain over a 24 hour period. Hardest hit was the tiny capital city of Montpelier where I opened my wellness center 9 years ago. I love Montpelier.
So many folks have reached out in the last week to check in on me. It’s been incredibly heartwarming. Thank you for that. I thought the best way to connect with all of you would be to just record a brief episode so that I can tell you the story of the flood. If you'd like to help out: https://gofund.me/16360465

Fri, 10 Jan 2020 - 21 - Knowledge Is Power with Dr Suzy Harris
Dr. Suzy Harris is as passionate about wellness as she is about empowering her patients to make informed decisions about their health. Her chiropractic practice has broadened over the years to include a spectrum of modalities like applied kinesiology, hyperbaric oxygen treatment, and high tech stress assessment. In this episode, Suzy talks about her practice, philosophy, and what she’s learned about healing and wellness over the span of her career.
Fri, 20 Dec 2019 - 20 - Are You Not Entertained?
My guest Susan Loynd describes herself as jaded, cynical and self-absorbed, and wants others to know that if someone like her can turn things around, then anyone can. Susan is a trip. And as you’ll find out in this episode, she was born to be in front of a microphone under a giant spotlight. She talks about her unlikely introduction to shamanic healing (with yours truly) and how this perspective helped get her through a very scary cancer diagnosis….with humor.

“Future medicine will be the medicine of frequencies.” - Albert Einstein; The future is here! Before recording this episode, I invited my friend Marie Frohlich in for a session in the Energy Genesis healing chamber. The Energy Genesis or EG (informally referred to as the “spaceship lounge”) is a non-invasive state-of-the-art vibrational medicine technology that creates an environment that’s optimal for self-healing.
Thu, 07 Nov 2019 - 18 - Iboga: The Visionary Root
My guest Levi Barker can speak to Iboga’s effectiveness. After ingesting a dose of the African psychedelic about 10 years ago, Levi said he no longer craved opiates. He went on to become an Iboga provider at a Costa Rican clinic where people from all over the world come to take part in traditional psycho-spiritual ceremonies that, for many, resolve the challenges that haunt their interior worlds.
