She has covered numerous cases of corruption and violations against women and minorities in Iraq. Almost two years after the emergence of the "Women, Life, Freedom" movement, what forms are feminist and popular protests taking in Iran, now that the wave of arrests and repression is only increasing? On disability and the body, on love, therapy, sports, and the pivotal role of women in his life, Steven Chebaclo talks to journalist Maya El Ammar in this episode of Noon, a feminist critical discussion, and ends the dialogue with an important message to every person going through depression, hopelessness or enduring any kind of disability.Throughout the episode, we hear from Steven Chebaclo from the communications team at "Embrace", a Lebanon-based organization working on promoting mental health and supporting individuals at risk of suicide. Steven suffered from society's view of the disability in his left hand, especially during school years, where he endured bullying and the price of being different. He lost a dear friend to suicide, and went through years filled with despair and depression. Steven also struggled to build his self-confidence in the fields of relationships and intimacy but over the years, he learned how to truly and deeply love his true self, not merely as a slogan. In this episode of #NoonPodcast, we delve deeper into the world of Lebanese fashion designer, Aya Jallad, who was struck by a rare illness at the age of 14, prompting her to ask many questions about the meaning of life, bodily autonomy, feminism, human rights, as well as the "superficial and appearance-obsessed" society we live in today. Society's view of "scleroderma", an extremely rare autoimmune disease that is not genetically inherited, often robbed Aya of hope, especially in the realms of love and intimacy, due to the dominant stereotyping of individuals with physical disabilities and the widespread discrimination against them. In this episode of #NoonPodcast, director Carol Mansour takes us behind the scenes of her film "Aida returns" which has become a global film that toured dozens of cities in a few months, and presents the impact project accompanying the film which will soon enable Palestinians in the diaspora to "virtually" return to their hometowns. In this episode, Carol also addresses the political aspects of the film, especially those related to the battles of memory, survival, and resistance.

The film "Aida Returns" narrates the relationship of Carol's Palestinian mother, named Ayda Abboud, with her hometown Jaffa, and her final journey back to it after her daughter kept her ashes in a bag and carried it with her from Montreal to Beirut.

But when exactly did Carol Mansour decide that her mother's story, who still remembered the details of her house in Jaffa despite her Alzheimer's, should become a documentary film? How did she manage to repatriate her mother's remains to her city after decades of displacement and distance? And what about the film she is currently working on, delving into the life of Palestinian-British doctor Ghassan Abu Sitta who witnessed the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, and looking deeper into what his family endured during the war?

"If what is happening in Gaza keeps happening while the world watches everything, then why wouldn't they do whatever they please in the West Bank as well?"

One month before the "Al-Aqsa Flood", fate had it that Asmaa Al-Atawneh's novel "A Long Walk from Gaza" was translated and released in English. In this novel, the Palestinian writer talks about her life inside a refugee camp in Gaza, under the weight of occupation and the corruption of authorities, until she leaves the enclave to begin her journey as a diaspora Palestinian, while holding on to her cause, now more than ever. Originally, Asmaa's family had been displaced from the Negev Desert to Gaza in 1948, the same desert that witnessed the October 7th operation and the famous "Rave" party...
How does Asmaa describe her life while her people and loved ones are subjected to genocidal crimes back home in Gaza? What does she say about the experiences of Palestinians abroad, specifically in Europe and France?
