  • 20 - 'Concert for Ukraine' with Green Secret Band in Point Pleasant, NJ

    Green Secret is a band known to the Polish-American audience, from New York to Miami. Now, the band will perform during a charity event in Point Pleasant Beach in New Jersey. "Concert for Ukraine" will take place on April 10, at a popular Jenks Club at Jenks Pavilion. 

    The event will begin with the performance by Ukrainian Chorus of Dumka of New York, who the audience may know from their performance at Saturday Night Live. Other artists will include, among others: Joe Bonanno and the Godsons, Ed Testa Band, Steve Forbert, Bobby Bandiera and Friends - and Green Secret. 

    Green Secret performs their original songs, but for this special event, they will also play a cover of a Polish song "Krakowski Spleen." 

    Radio RAMPA talked to Reda Woodcock, who is a bass player for the band. Reda, who joined Green Secret in 2020, also talks about his musical journey.

    Rampa News guest is Robert Holden, New York City Councilman representing District 30, including Maspeth, Ridgewood, Glendale, Middle Village, Woodhaven and Woodside.
    In conversation with Monika Adamski, Robert Holden sums up year 2019, and talks about plans for 2020.
    We start off with a proposed redesign of the bus network in Queens and what community input can be. Councilman also confirms, there is a study to be conducted about possible subway line connecting Bay Ridge with Astoria, through Middle Village.
    Councilman gives and update on the grade fraud investigations, as well as criminal justice reform.
    The next topic is homeless situation – Councilman talks about the best scenarios on how to help the homeless, and he also evaluates Mayor Bill de Blasio’s actions in this topic.
    2020 is a census year. Councilman explains why everybody should participate, and what are the risks if we choose not to. Also, 2020 is an election year, and councilman encourages to vote – he also presents his stance on non-citizens, holding NY Driver’s Licenses voting.
