Mon, 05 Oct 2026 - 219 - Ep. 219 - LEGO E.T. Review & More INCREDIBLE 80's Inspired LEGO Sets
LEGO has been going HARD after our nostalgia lately...and if you grew up in the 1980s, this might be one of the best times ever to be a LEGO fan. In BrickCast Episode, I’m reviewing the brand-new LEGO Ideas 21370 E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, but this episode quickly became about MUCH more than just one set. We’ll take a closer look at LEGO’s new version of one of the most recognizable characters in movie history, including its design, articulation, glowing heart, some fantastic hidden Easter eggs, and the surprising story behind the original fan model that eventually became an official LEGO set. And because this is E.T., we have to talk about the movie itself. More than four decades later, its impact is still incredible, and there are a few connections to Star Wars that you may have completely forgotten about. Then comes the big question: Is this actually a good LEGO set?My wife built E.T. this time around, so she’s taking over the ratings, and one of her scores genuinely shocked me. We’ll see where she lands on the build experience, displayability, playability, value, and ultimately whether E.T. deserves a spot in your collection. But E.T. is only the beginning...I’m also looking at five other LEGO sets that every 1980s nostalgia fan should have on their radar. Movies, cartoons, video games, transforming robots, time machines...LEGO has quietly assembled a pretty incredible lineup for those of us who remember growing up during the decade. And somehow, there’s still SO MUCH left for LEGO to explore. Knight Rider? The A-Team? ALF? ThunderCats? Beetlejuice? The NeverEnding Story? The Karate Kid? If LEGO could make ONE more set based on something from the 1980s, what are you choosing? Mon, 28 Sep 2026 - 217 - Ep. 217 - The Ultimate LEGO Collector’s Dilemma: What To KEEP & What to SELL?
What LEGO sets in your collection could you NEVER bring yourself to sell? That question came up during a conversation with a coworker. I told them that if I ever moved and had to seriously downsize, I’d probably sell most of my LEGO collection rather than move it all. Then they asked the obvious follow-up: “Would you keep anything?” Oh yeah. Absolutely. So for this Wild Card Wednesday, I’m counting down the 10 LEGO sets in my collection that I would NEVER sell. And these aren’t necessarily the 10 “best” sets I own. They aren’t the most expensive, the biggest, or even the rarest. These are the sets that mean something to me. We’ve got some legendary Star Wars builds, an unusual piece of LEGO history made from something other than plastic, an architectural model with a family connection, a transforming icon from the '80s, one of my favorite animated characters of all time, a massive model of one of America’s most famous homes, and a few builds that have stories worth far more to me than their aftermarket value. Some are worth hundreds—or even well over $1,000. Others aren't worth much at all. But they’re priceless to me. So if The Imagination Brickshop collection ever had to go...these 10 are coming with me. What is the ONE LEGO set in your collection that you would never sell? Let me know in the comments! Happy First Day of Fall, Brickheadz! Fall has officially arrived, and LEGO is celebrating with a brand-new spooky GWP—but apparently we're also skipping straight ahead to Christmas! In BrickCast Ep. 216, we're breaking down the latest LEGO news, reveals, GWPs, promotions, and rumors heading into the final months of 2026. We’ve got a newly revealed haunted build just in time for Halloween, an update to the upcoming Astro Bot GWP that changes what we originally thought about its release, and the official reveal of this year's LEGO Icons Holiday House. But that's just the beginning. We also have a look at the upcoming GWP and Double Points calendar—including when you may want to hold off on that big LEGO purchase and when it might finally be time to pull the trigger. Plus, the Restaurants of the World collection continues after stops in Japan, Mexico, and Greece. Where are we headed next? Then it's time to duel! LEGO Ideas has officially announced the winner of the Yu-Gi-Oh! It’s Time to Duel! Challenge. Five incredible finalists battled it out, but only one could become an official LEGO Ideas set. We're taking a look at all five finalists, the winning design, and what happens next for the fan designer. And finally, for the Brickshop Alternative Set of the Week, we're going WAY back to 1981 Japan for a 3,900+ piece beast-form combining mecha that might look very familiar to children of the '80s. Five robotic lions, nearly two feet tall, chrome armor, full LED lighting...Yeah. We need to talk about this one. What story are you most excited about this week? Mon, 21 Sep 2026 - 215 - Ep. 215 - LEGO Didn’t Make a Church for 66 Years…Then THIS Happened
LEGO went more than six decades without releasing a standalone church set. Then came Notre-Dame de Paris. In BrickCast Episode 215, I’m taking a detailed look at LEGO Architecture 21061 Notre-Dame de Paris — a 4,383-piece recreation of one of the most famous buildings in the world. At $230, this set delivers an incredible price-per-piece, zero stickers, a unique chronological building experience, and one of the most impressive Architecture displays LEGO has produced. We’ll talk about the real cathedral’s nearly 900-year history, the devastating 2019 fire and restoration, LEGO’s surprisingly long history with church sets, and why Notre-Dame may have helped open the door for something MUCH bigger coming later this year. And yes... we need to talk about the upcoming 12,060-piece Sagrada Família. How does Notre-Dame stack up against what will become the largest LEGO set ever released by piece count? Finally, I’ll break Notre-Dame down in my four review categories — Playability, Displayability, Build Experience, and Value — before giving it my final score. Is LEGO Notre-Dame de Paris worth adding to your collection before it disappears? Mon, 14 Sep 2026 - 213 - Ep. 213 - If LEGO Let Me Run the Company for One Year
What if LEGO handed me the keys to the company for one year? In this BrickCast Episode, that’s exactly the question I’m asking. LEGO has changed dramatically over the last decade. Sets are bigger. Prices are higher. Adults have become a much larger part of the market. But somewhere along the way, I think LEGO has created a few problems that could be solved with some surprisingly simple changes. So, for one year, I’m taking over. I have three major ideas that would change the way LEGO approaches its sets, its classic themes, its adult collectors, and even what happens after you buy a set. One would bring back something from LEGO’s past — but not quite the way you might expect. Another would completely rethink what you should get when you spend $300, $400, or even $500 on a LEGO set. And the last might be the most controversial: I think LEGO needs to decide exactly who certain sets are actually being made for. Kids? Adults? Collectors? Why not build a system that works for all three? Some of these ideas LEGO could implement tomorrow. Others might get me fired before my first year as CEO is over. Of course, LEGO probably isn't calling me to replace Niels B. Christiansen anytime soon, but that's what Wild Card Wednesday is for! Either way, I want to know what YOU would do. If LEGO gave you control of the company for one year, what’s the first thing you would change? Find out what I’d do in BrickCast Episode 213: If LEGO Let Me Run the Company for One Year. Mon, 07 Sep 2026 - 211 - Ep. 211 - Don't Buy the UCS Super Star Destroyer Until You Watch This!
LEGO's new UCS Executor Super Star Destroyer is here, and at $800, it's one of the biggest LEGO purchasing decisions you can make. But before you buy it… you need to see how it compares to the original. For this episode, I'm pulling my legendary 10221 UCS Super Star Destroyer off the shelf for an in-depth review — and putting it head-to-head with LEGO's brand-new 2026 version. There's also a great story behind this particular set. I found mine on Craigslist back in January 2013 for only $200, having absolutely no idea what it would eventually become worth. More than 13 years later, it's time to find out how well it has held up. We'll compare the two generations of the Executor, including their size, price, value, minifigures, display presence and some surprising numbers that completely changed the way I look at the new $800 version. On paper, the new Super Star Destroyer is bigger and more impressive in almost every way. But is it actually a better value? And if you already own 10221, is there any reason to upgrade? By the end, I'll tell you which one I'd rather own — and whether I think you should spend $800 on the new one. 👇 Which Executor would you choose: the original 10221 or the new 75457? After years of brick-built characters and interactive figures, LEGO is making a huge change to the Super Mario theme in 2027 — and Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Bowser and more are coming along for the ride! But Mario is only the beginning of a HUGE week of LEGO news and rumors. We finally have the official reveal of the absolutely massive UCS Executor Super Star Destroyer — a 6,130-piece, $800 monster that becomes the longest LEGO set ever released at more than 53 inches! And its minifigure lineup might be just as impressive, bringing together Darth Vader and all six bounty hunters from The Empire Strikes Back. Mon, 31 Aug 2026 - 209 - Ep. 209 - The 5 BEST & WORST LEGO Sets I Own…According to My Wife!
My wife has spent years living with my LEGO collection. She's watched sets take over shelves, rooms, closets... and probably more of our house than she'd care to admit. But what does she actually think of them? For this episode, I'm handing things over to my wife and asking her to do something potentially dangerous: look through my entire LEGO collection and choose the 5 BEST and 5 WORST sets I own. And the rules? There are no rules. Price doesn't matter. Piece count doesn't matter. Rarity doesn't matter. LEGO history doesn't matter. And apparently, my opinion REALLY doesn't matter. Her choices take us across decades of LEGO history and include everything from galaxies far, far away and magical worlds to famous landmarks, animated classics, enormous display pieces, musical builds, and some very expensive sets that she apparently isn't nearly as impressed with as I am. There were choices I completely understood. There were choices that surprised me. And then there were choices that made me seriously reconsider inviting her onto the channel. 😂 We'll count down her Top 5 BEST and Top 5 WORST, throw in a couple honorable—or perhaps dishonorable—mentions, and ultimately reveal the two sets that earned the titles of: 🏆 BEST LEGO SET IN MY ENTIRE COLLECTION 💩 WORST LEGO SET IN MY ENTIRE COLLECTION Did she get it right? Or is she completely out of her mind? Watch the episode, then let me know in the comments which of her picks you agree with, which one you think is completely ridiculous, and what YOU would choose as the best and worst sets in your own collection. And don't forget to give my wife some positive feedback in the comments section so I can convince her to do a round two! We've got new details surrounding LEGO's upcoming PlayStation collaboration, including what could be hiding inside the build, plus more information about the next wave of Pokémon sets coming in 2027. And yes... I'm making some predictions about which Pokémon might be included! Wed, 19 Aug 2026 - 206 - Ep. 206 - This LEGO IDEAS Steamboat Has a Problem (Or Does It?)
The LEGO Ideas River Steamboat is one of the biggest and most impressive LEGO Ideas sets ever released, but is 21356 River Steamboat actually worth its $330 price tag? And how does a massive, minifigure-scale LEGO set somehow come with ZERO minifigures? In this episode of The Imagination Brickshop, I’m reviewing LEGO Ideas 21356 River Steamboat, a 4,090-piece recreation of a classic American riverboat based on the original fan design by Aaron Hall. At more than two feet long, this is an enormous display piece filled with working functions, detailed interiors, hidden surprises, and some very clever LEGO engineering. There is a LOT that impressed me about this set — from the overall design and incredible display presence to some of the mechanical features LEGO managed to incorporate. But there are also a few decisions that left me scratching my head, including one omission that feels particularly strange for a set of this size, scale, and price. Plus, we cover:• The story behind the original LEGO Ideas submission• How the final LEGO set compares to the fan design• The River Steamboat’s working functions• Some of my favorite details and surprises• What the building experience is really like• The biggest strengths — and disappointments• Whether 21356 River Steamboat is worth $330 And, as always, I’ll score the River Steamboat for Playability, Displayability, Build Experience, and Value before revealing my final overall rating. This one surprised me in more than one category. So where does the LEGO Ideas River Steamboat ultimately land, and is this a set you should add to your collection before it retires? Wed, 12 Aug 2026 - 205 - Ep. 205 - LEGO's Biggest LEAK of 2026 is Here...And It Massive!
LEGO leaks happen all the time… but this one is on another level. A mysterious file has surfaced that supposedly reveals a massive list of upcoming LEGO 18+ sets stretching all the way into 2027 and 2028. Is it a legitimate internal LEGO document? An elaborate fake? Or somewhere in between? Right now, nobody really knows — but if even a fraction of this list turns out to be real, LEGO fans could be in for some absolutely wild sets over the next couple of years. In this episode of LEGO News & Rumors, I’m digging through the leaked list, separating what sounds surprisingly believable from what seems almost too good to be true. We’re talking potential releases across Star Wars, Architecture, ICONS, Lord of the Rings, Marvel, DC, Disney and more, along with some completely unexpected licenses and even possible new themes. And trust me… there are a few names on this list that I REALLY want to believe are real. Plus, we cover:• Some long-rumored sets that suddenly appear to have more fuel behind them• Several licenses I never expected LEGO to touch• A few massive display sets that could become instant collector favorites• New themes that seemingly come out of nowhere• My picks for which rumors feel believable, and which ones raise some serious red flags But don’t click away when the rumors are over! Stick around until the end because I’m reading and responding to some of your comments from recent episodes. So, what do YOU think? Is this mysterious LEGO file the real deal, or did someone just create the ultimate LEGO fan wish list? And if you could choose ONE rumored set from the leak to become real, which one would it be? Mon, 10 Aug 2026 - 204 - Ep. 204 - Is This LEGO's Most Important Theme in 2026?
Have LEGO Botanicals quietly become the most important theme in the entire LEGO portfolio? I think the answer is yes—and today I'm making the case. In this Wild Card Wednesday episode, we take a journey through the history of LEGO Botanicals, from the release of the original Bonsai Tree in 2021 to one of LEGO's fastest-growing themes in 2026. I'll share a personal story about how a simple trip to the LEGO Store with my wife completely changed the way I looked at this collection and why I believe LEGO has tapped into an audience unlike any other. We'll also count down 10 LEGO Botanical sets that I believe every LEGO fan should experience, from timeless classics like the Bonsai Tree and Orchid to newer favorites like Happy Plants and Woodland Mushrooms. Whether you're a longtime collector or someone who's never built a flower before, there may be a Botanical set that's perfect for you. Finally, we'll explore why Botanicals have become such a juggernaut for LEGO. From their affordable prices and broad appeal to their beautiful display value and zero maintenance, I'll explain why I believe this theme is helping LEGO reach an entirely new generation of builders—and why it may be the company's most important theme heading into 2026. Do you agree? Have LEGO Botanicals become LEGO's most important theme, or is another theme still leading the way? And which Botanical set is your favorite? Wed, 15 Jul 2026 - 197 - Ep. 197 - LEGO Fans Just Can't Say No to GWPs
NOTE: This is a rerun of Episode #154 Are LEGO Gift With Purchases the best thing to happen to the hobby... or LEGO's most effective marketing tool? In this episode, we're taking a deep dive into the fascinating world of LEGO GWPs (Gift With Purchase) and exploring how these once-simple promotional bonuses have evolved into one of the biggest drivers of consumer behavior in the LEGO community. What started as small promotional items and polybags has transformed into highly anticipated releases that can influence when, where, and even whether fans make a purchase. Today, many collectors plan entire shopping strategies around GWPs, and some promotions disappear within hours of becoming available. In this episode, we'll discuss:✅ The history and evolution of LEGO GWPs✅ How they changed consumer buying habits✅ Some of the most memorable GWPs ever released✅ My personal favorite promotional sets✅ Why some GWPs skyrocket in value while others don't✅ LEGO Store purchases vs. retailers like Target, Walmart, and Amazon✅ The psychology behind "fear of missing out" (FOMO)✅ Whether GWPs are helping or hurting the LEGO hobby We'll also tackle one of the biggest questions facing collectors today: Are LEGO fans buying sets because they truly want them... or because they don't want to miss out on the free promotional item? And for those interested in the investing side of the hobby, we'll take a look at whether GWPs still represent a smart opportunity in today's market. Is buying, holding, and reselling promotional sets still a viable strategy, or has the landscape changed? Whether you're a collector who chases every GWP, someone who ignores them entirely, or a LEGO investor trying to maximize value, this episode offers an interesting look at one of the most influential trends shaping the LEGO community today. So what do you think? Are LEGO Gift With Purchases adding value to the hobby, or are they quietly changing the way we buy LEGO forever? Let me know your thoughts in the comments! Mon, 13 Jul 2026 - 196 - Ep. 196 - Top 5 Sets That Changed LEGO Forever
NOTE: This is a rerun of Episode #134 What are the most important LEGO sets ever released? Not necessarily the biggest. Not the most expensive. Not even the most popular. Today, we're looking at the five LEGO sets that fundamentally changed the course of LEGO history. These are the sets that introduced revolutionary ideas, launched entirely new directions for the company, transformed the way LEGO designs products, or helped shape the LEGO Group into the global powerhouse we know today. Over the past several decades, a handful of sets have done far more than entertain builders. They've influenced strategy, sparked innovation, opened the door to game-changing partnerships, and in some cases, helped LEGO navigate some of the most challenging moments in its history. In this episode, we'll explore:✅ The historical impact of each set✅ How each changed LEGO's future✅ New themes, innovations, and business shifts they inspired✅ The lasting influence they still have today✅ Why some of these choices may surprise even longtime LEGO fans These aren't necessarily the "best" LEGO sets ever made—but they may be the most important. Some of these selections are likely to spark debate, and honestly, that's part of the fun. Did I leave off a set that deserves consideration? Is there a LEGO model you believe changed the company forever? Be sure to share your thoughts in the comments! We'll also wrap things up with a few honorable mentions that narrowly missed the list and discuss why they still deserve recognition in the conversation. If you love LEGO history, fascinating behind-the-scenes stories, and learning how a simple plastic brick became one of the world's most successful toy companies, this is an episode you won't want to miss. Thanks for watching, and let's celebrate the LEGO sets that didn't just build amazing models—they helped build LEGO itself. NOTE: This is a rerun of Episode 109 --- LEGO Lord of the Rings Barad-dûr Review + Tolkien Lore Deep Dive One set to rule them all? In this episode, I’m diving into the massive LEGO Icons Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr — a 5,471-piece fortress of pure Tolkien awesomeness. Not only do I review the build itself, but I’ll also take you on a journey through the history of Tolkien, the books, the films, and the lore behind Barad-dûr and the ever-watchful Eye of Sauron. This towering set comes with 10 iconic minifigures (yes, including Sauron himself, Frodo, Sam, Gollum, and more), an automated black gate, hidden rooms packed with Easter eggs, and of course that glowing Eye of Sauron perched high above Middle-earth. It’s equal parts display piece, playset, and Tolkien fan dream come true. But is Barad-dûr worth its premium price? How does it stack up against other LOTR sets and LEGO Icons releases? And does LEGO really capture the dark magic of Mordor in brick form? I’ll cover all that and more — plus sprinkle in some Tolkien lore for good measure. If you love LEGO, Lord of the Rings, or just want to geek out over Middle-earth, this is one episode you won’t want to miss. Music Credit: YouTube Music Library

Mon, 22 Jun 2026 - 190 - Ep. 190 - The TOP 10 Sets in My Collection - 2026 Edition
What are the greatest sets in my collection... right now? It's time for the 2026 Edition of My Top 10 Sets in My Collection, and if you watched last year's list, prepare yourself—because a lot has changed. This isn't simply a rerun with a few minor adjustments. Over the past year, several longtime favorites have fallen down the rankings, multiple new entries have stormed onto the list, and some sets that once seemed untouchable have found themselves fighting just to stay relevant. But before we begin, there are three important rules: ✅ This list is highly subjective.✅ My rankings change over time.✅ It's my collection. And here's where things get interesting... Many viewers will assume they already know what my favorite sets are. Some of you might even think you know which set takes the #1 spot. But this year's rankings contain a few surprises, including several newcomers and at least one entry that isn't even a LEGO set. That's right. This list isn't about brand loyalty, resale value, or what the internet thinks should be ranked highest. It's about the models that mean the most to me as a collector, builder, and fan. Along the way we'll discuss:✅ What moved up from last year's rankings✅ Which former favorites dropped down the list✅ The biggest new additions to the collection✅ Why certain sets continue to stand the test of time✅ The personal stories behind some of my favorite builds Will a massive display piece claim the top spot? Will nostalgia win out? Will a licensed theme dominate the rankings? Or could a completely unexpected contender take the crown? You'll have to watch all the way to the end to find out. And speaking of the end... For the first time, we're introducing a brand-new segment where I read and respond to comments from viewers of previous episodes! So stick around after the rankings to see if your comment made the show and hear some thoughts from fellow members of the Imagination Brickshop community. Credit this idea to Slap Shot Bricks. Mon, 01 Jun 2026 - 184 - Ep. 184 - Before You Buy the NEW Hogwarts Castle Expansions…This Episode is a MUST!
Before the NEW Hogwarts Castle expansion arrives… we need to talk about the LEGO Harry Potter giant that started it all. Back in 2018, LEGO released set 71043 Hogwarts Castle, a set so massive it instantly became one of the most legendary builds ever created. At the time, it was the second-largest LEGO set in history. Even now in 2026, it still stands as the BIGGEST Harry Potter set ever made. And with LEGO about to launch the brand-new Hogwarts Castle: East Wing on June 1st, the big question becomes… Is the original castle STILL the ultimate Hogwarts experience? We’re diving into:🧙 The insane size and detail of the 6,000+ piece castle🧙 Rare minifigures and microfigures that collectors still chase today🧙 Dragons, hidden rooms, magical callbacks, and one ridiculously long build experience🧙 How the old castle compares to LEGO’s new modular Hogwarts system🧙 Whether the original is still worth buying in 2026 before retirement🧙 And how four new castle sets together now cost MORE than the original masterpiece Plus… I revisit the VERY FIRST YouTube video I ever uploaded back in 2018, when I built this monster for 13 straight hours. 😅 If you’re a LEGO Harry Potter fan, collector, or just love massive display sets, this is going to be a nostalgic trip through one of LEGO’s most iconic creations. Is 71043 still the greatest Hogwarts Castle LEGO has ever made… or has the new system finally surpassed it? Wed, 20 May 2026 - 181 - Ep. 181 - LEGO Minas Tirith, Pokémon Delays & BrickLink Madness - 5-18-26 - News & Rumors
The LEGO news train has officially left the station and somehow picked up even MORE chaos this week. From one of the biggest LEGO Lord of the Rings sets ever made to BrickLink insanity, production delays, surprise reveals, and rumors flying faster than a Gondor beacon fire, there’s a LOT to talk about. This episode covers the massive LEGO ICONS Minas Tirith reveal, including the latest updates on the GROND Gift With Purchase, while also diving into the absolutely overwhelming BrickLink Designer Series 11 voting period featuring a casual 578 fan submissions. Because apparently LEGO fans collectively decided sleep was optional. We also break down the upcoming BrickLink Series 8 pre-orders, including castles, trains, balloons, and enough wallet damage to qualify as a natural disaster. But one of the biggest stories this week may actually be the delays. The rumored 12,000-piece Sagrada Familia set potentially getting pushed back is almost poetic considering the real building itself has been under construction for over 140 years. Meanwhile, the LEGO Pokémon Pokéball may also be delayed, proving once again that even LEGO release schedules can’t catch ‘em all. On top of that, we’ve got new Pokémon rumors, Marvel busts, Disney surprises, a retro pinball machine, mysterious minifigures, and enough LEGO goodness to make your backlog feel personally attacked. So grab a drink, hide your wallet, and come hang out for another packed episode of LEGO news and rumors! 👇 Let me know in the comments:What set are YOU most excited for this week? 👍 If you enjoy LEGO news, rumors, rankings, reviews, and BrickLink coverage, make sure to LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and ring the bell so you never miss an episode! #LEGO #LEGONews #LEGORumors #BrickLinkDesignerProgram #LordOfTheRings #MinasTirith #LEGOPokemon #LEGODisney #LEGOICONS #BrickLink #AFOL #LEGOCastle #LEGOMarvel #LEGOLeaks #LEGOCommunity Music Credit: Music from the YouTube Audio Library

The rumor mill is working overtime this week, and there is a lot to talk about in the LEGO world. We start with official images from the upcoming Toy Story wave arriving May 1st. There’s a surprising update surrounding the LEGO Ideas Godzilla project that could show up in a very unusual way later this year. Rumors are also circulating about a brand new line of buildable, up-scaled minifig characters that could pull from multiple themes. Star Wars fans may have something unexpected on the horizon tied to The Mandalorian, while Ninjago builders could be getting a massive mech arriving later this summer. And then there’s one of the most talked-about possibilities right now: a large wave of sets based on a franchise that many fans have been hoping LEGO would tackle for years. There are even whispers about a surprising addition to the Fortnite lineup that might be unlike anything we’ve seen from that theme before. As always, these are rumors and leaks, so take everything with a grain of salt. But if even a few of these turn out to be true, the rest of 2026 could be a very exciting year for LEGO fans. Mon, 30 Mar 2026 - 166 - Ep. 166 - The Smart Guide to Buying Lego in 2026
LEGO collecting in 2026 feels different. Prices are higher, hype moves faster, and the fear of missing out can push collectors into buying sets they may not actually need. In this episode we break down a smarter strategy for navigating the LEGO market this year with a simple approach: Buy. Wait. Skip. Using real examples from current sets, we walk through how to decide which sets are actually worth grabbing now, which ones are better to wait on, and which releases might be best left on the shelf entirely. We also talk about why retirement dates matter, how quickly some themes disappear from shelves, and why the biggest launches aren’t always the best day-one purchases. Along the way we cover helpful tools that collectors use to track sets, the reality that only LEGO truly knows when something will retire, and why even experienced collectors sometimes get it wrong. We’ll also talk about how used sets can be a perfectly smart option, why certain limited-run releases behave differently, and how seasonal sets can catch people off guard. Most importantly, this episode is about avoiding the trap that catches so many collectors: buying something simply because everyone else is talking about it. If you want to stretch your LEGO budget further in 2026 and make smarter decisions about what belongs in your collection, this strategy might save you a lot of money. Mon, 23 Mar 2026 - 164 - Ep. 164 - Is This Still The Greatest Set Ever Made? LEGO Rivendell Review
Two years ago, one set changed everything for me. 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell wasn’t just another big LEGO release — it was the reason this podcast even exists. Now, many months later and staring down a likely Summer 2026 retirement (well past the typical LEGO Icons lifespan), I’m doing something I’ve never done before:I’m re-reviewing it. 6167 pieces. $500. Fifteen minifigures. Forty-nine numbered bags. Three instruction manuals. Nearly three feet wide. The Last Homely House in the West in full brick-built glory. But the real question is — how does it hold up? In this episode, I revisit Imladris from every angle:• Does the build experience still feel like a 10/10 masterpiece?• Has the value shifted as retirement approaches?• Are those 69 printed tiles, deep-cut lore references, and insanely detailed minifig lineup still unmatched?• And is this still the gold standard for large-scale display sets?We talk lore accuracy (yes, including that Celebrimbor scene and the subtle Annatar implications), hidden details, minifigure value, and whether Rivendell still earns its place among the greatest LEGO sets ever made. This isn’t just a review. It’s a look back at where this podcast started… and a real test of whether one of the most beloved modern LEGO sets truly stands the test of time. If you’ve been on the fence, or if you’ve owned it since day one, this one’s special. Music Credit: YouTube Music Library
Wed, 11 Mar 2026 - 163 - Ep. 163 - SpongeBob, Dragon Ball Z, AND a Poké Ball?! These LEGO Rumors Are INSANE - 3/9/26 - News & Rumors
The rumor mill is spinning again… and this week it’s a wild one. In this episode of the News & Rumors Show, we dive into the return of LEGO Insiders reward sets, including the return of a certain Blue Shiny Shell and a surprisingly nostalgic Tic Tac Toe board of awesomeness. If you’ve been hoarding points, it might finally be time to cash in. Then we shift gears to official announcements, including the newly revealed Ferrari F1 driver helmets featuring none other than Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc. Formula 1 fans are getting some serious shelf-worthy display pieces this May. But the real chaos begins when we get to the rumors… We’re talking about a potential return to Conch Street in the world of SpongeBob SquarePants, a massive Poké Ball diorama that might make Pokémon collectors lose their minds, and a long-whispered Dragon Ball Z set that could finally bring the legendary Shenron to LEGO form. Oh, and that’s not all. There are new Botanicals blooming, Marvel sets assembling, and a CMF Series 29 lineup that might be one of the weirdest — and most fun — assortments we’ve seen in a while. As always, we sort through what’s confirmed, what’s rumored, what’s exciting… and what might be complete nonsense. So grab your bricks, your speculation hat, and maybe a wallet brace. Because LEGO news week is here again. Music Credit: YouTube Music Library
Mon, 09 Mar 2026 - 162 - Ep. 162 - LEGO Smart Play: Brilliant Innovation OR Total Disaster?
Is this the future of LEGO… or another tech experiment headed for the clearance aisle? On March 1st, the LEGO Group officially launched the brand-new Smart Brick and Smart Play System across six countries, debuting in sets like 75420 Luke’s Landspeeder, 75426 Millennium Falcon, and 75427 Throne Room Duel & A-wing. But if you think this is LEGO’s first dance with high-tech innovation… oh, we need to talk. In this episode, I rewind the clock and walk through LEGO’s long, complicated relationship with technology — from the battery-powered train motors of the 1960s to Mindstorms, Nexo Knights, Hidden Side, Vidiyo (yes… that one), LEGO Dimensions, and even Super Mario. Some were brilliant. Some were bold. Some were… cautionary tales. Then we dig into the Smart Play rollout itself: Are these new Star Wars sets actually good builds?Did the tech compromise the design? Is this system trying to do too much — and excelling at too little? And why does this launch feel so strangely mysterious? I break down the three fundamental problems I see with Smart Play, why history might not be on LEGO’s side, and whether this thing is doomed… or just misunderstood. Most importantly, I give you my honest prediction about where this goes from here — and whether LEGO will actually stick with it long enough to make it succeed. Smart Play or Dumb Idea? Hit play and let’s find out. Music Credit: YouTube Music Library
Wed, 04 Mar 2026 - 161 - Ep. 161 - LEGO March Madness IS Here! - 3-2-26 - News & Rumors
March is officially here… and LEGO did NOT ease us into it. Over forty new sets have hit shelves, Pokémon and Star Wars Smart Play have launched, the 300th BrickHeadz is up for grabs, and the Gift-With-Purchase calendar is stacked. If your wallet isn’t nervous yet… it should be. In this episode, I walk you through the absolute avalanche of March releases — from massive display pieces like 31220 Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies, to new Batman builds, Botanicals, Disney drops, ICONS heavy-hitters, Technic speed machines, and even that Scaled-Up Blue Astronaut. There’s sports, there’s Editions, there’s Formula 1 everywhere… and yes, Ferrari fans are eating well. But that’s just the warm-up. We also dig into the latest rumors — and there’s one that has me personally counting down the days: the 18+ Buildable Triceratops Skeleton rumored for August. Nearly 2,000 pieces of prehistoric display goodness? Say less. On top of that:• Messi and Ronaldo Editions sets?• More Ferrari helmets?• And a wave of Harry Potter August rumors that might have fans very interested…If you’re trying to decide what to buy, what to skip, what to save for, and what might be worth the hype — this is your March survival guide. Strap in. It’s a big one. Music Credit: YouTube Music Library
Mon, 02 Mar 2026 - 160 - Ep. 160 - What Every Great Set Should Be - The LEGO Wall-E & EVE Review
Is the new WALL-E & EVE set a must-have, or just nostalgia in shiny bricks? In this episode, we dive deep into set 43279 – WALL-E & EVE (18+) and explore everything that makes this release such an interesting addition to the lineup. From clever design choices to surprising details (including something longtime builders will definitely appreciate), there’s a lot to unpack here. But we don’t stop at the new hotness… We rewind the clock to compare it with the legendary 21303 LEGO Ideas WALL-E from 2015 — a set that has taken on near-mythical status in the collector market. How does the modern interpretation stack up against a fan-favorite classic? Has LEGO evolved its approach, or does the original still reign supreme? And for good measure, we shine a spotlight on the 40619 WALL-E & EVE BrickHeadz, because tiny, blocky robots deserve love too. Along the way, we revisit the world of WALL-E, the unforgettable Pixar film that gave us lonely robots, dystopian themes, and one surprisingly emotional cockroach. Nearly 700 years into the future aboard the Axiom, does this new set capture that same magic? If you're a collector, a Disney fan, or just someone who loves seeing how LEGO revisits its own history, this is an episode you won’t want to miss. Tune in and decide for yourself: is this set headed for classic status… or something else entirely? Music Credit: YouTube Music Library

Mon, 23 Feb 2026 - 158 - Ep. 158 - The Best Series Yet? My Series 10: Bricklink Designer Series Finalists
Six hundred. Nearly. Six. Hundred. Sets. That is the beautiful, chaotic reality of BrickLink Designer Program Series 10 voting, and yes, I voluntarily subjected myself to it. After far too many hours of scrolling, second-guessing, and questioning my life choices, I have emerged with my Top Five Finalists. Ranked. Rated. Defended. These are my picks for the absolute best of the best. Will you agree with my list? Probably not. In fact, I almost hope you don’t, because this is LEGO and spirited debate is half the fun. Think you have better taste? Prove it. Go make your own top five and prepare to experience the same decision paralysis I did. With this many incredible designs competing, every vote feels like a dramatic betrayal of another brilliant set. In this episode, we break down what makes my selections stand out, why narrowing this series down was borderline painful, and which builds I think genuinely deserve to survive the voting gauntlet. Expect strong opinions, questionable rationalizations, and plenty of “how did this not make my list?” moments. Voting is live right now, so jump in, embrace the madness, and let’s compare favorites. Wed, 18 Feb 2026 - 157 - Ep. 157 - Do Not Miss OUT! Bricklink Designer Series 7 Pre-Order Madness Starts Now! - 2/16/26 - News & Rumors
BrickLink madness has officially begun. In this episode we dive headfirst into BrickLink Designer Series 7, which is LIVE right now and running on that dangerously short one week countdown clock. Preorders, panic decisions, empty wallets… the full experience. We break down all five finalists from adorable robots to a massive pirate frigate that absolutely does not fit on any normal shelf. Choose wisely, because Future You will have opinions. Beyond the Designer Series chaos, we also check out fresh LEGO reveals, including an interesting Maersk container vessel and the incredibly charming LEGO IDEAS Snoopy set that is basically powered by nostalgia. Then things go hyperspace as we scan the latest Star Wars sets, from ships and BrickHeadz to more Grogu appearances than anyone can emotionally prepare for. And of course… rumors. Big ones. Possibly wallet-melting ones. A UCS Super Star Destroyer that sounds completely reasonable at 10,000 pieces and a price tag that may require a small bank loan. Plus Marvel fans, you might want to sit down for this one. If you like LEGO news, speculation, and questionable financial choices, you’re in the right place. Music Credit: YouTube Music Library
Mon, 16 Feb 2026 - 156 - Ep. 156 - LEGO’s Most Iconic Aircraft Build Yet - The Shuttle Aircraft Carrier Review
What happens when one of the most iconic airplanes ever built teams up with a legendary space shuttle? You get one seriously epic LEGO display piece, and today we’re taking a deep dive into it. In this video, I’m building and reviewing the LEGO Icons Shuttle Carrier Aircraft (10360), a 2,417 piece tribute to aerospace history featuring the Boeing 747 and the NASA Space Shuttle Enterprise. This is the aircraft combo that helped define an entire era in human space exploration, and LEGO packed in a ton of thoughtful details to celebrate it. We’ll take a close look at• The sleek fuselage and deployable 18 wheel landing gear on the 747• The Space Shuttle Enterprise with its detachable engines, landing gear, and tail cone that can all be stored in the cargo bay• The display stand and information plaques that turn this build into a true centerpiece• The overall build experience, techniques, and how this set feels from start to finish Whether you’re a space nerd, an aviation fan, or just love a big, bold LEGO Icons display, this set has a lot to talk about and I’ve got thoughts. Make sure you watch until the very end, because I give this set my final rating and break down who I think this set is really for. Is it an instant classic, or more of a niche build? If you enjoy LEGO reviews, space history, and the occasional hot take, you’re in the right place. Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and drop a comment with your thoughts on this set. Wed, 11 Feb 2026 - 155 - Ep. 155 - LEGO Leaks Overload! - 2/9/26 - News & Rumors
A new week means another deep dive into the constantly shifting world of LEGO news and rumors, and this episode is loaded with updates that could have a big impact on what ends up on shelves later this year. Between a quirky new February gift with purchase, new theme confirmations, and several releases that may not be what we originally expected, there is plenty to unpack. We also take a closer look at upcoming display-focused sets, some major movement in the LEGO Ideas space (well kinda space), and a few rumor updates that could completely change the conversation around certain fan-favorite properties. Add in fast cars, prehistoric chaos, and a couple of mystery listings that raise more questions than answers, and this episode keeps the speculation rolling the entire time. If you like being in the loop before official announcements drop, breaking down rumors as they evolve, and hearing honest reactions along the way, this is one you won’t want to skip. Some of these details might be small on their own, but together they paint a very interesting picture of what LEGO has planned next. Music credit: YouTube Audio Library
Mon, 09 Feb 2026 - 154 - Ep. 154 - LEGO's Secret Weapon: Why Fans Can't Get Enough of GWP's
In this episode, I take a step back and look at one of LEGO’s most powerful marketing tools: the Gift With Purchase. Over the past five years, GWPs have quietly evolved from small bonuses into full-blown drivers of buying behavior. They’re no longer just a “nice extra” tossed into your cart. In many cases, they’re the reason people place an order at all. From recent GWP rushes that caused instant sellouts to comments like “I’m buying this day one for the GWP,” it’s clear these promos now shape how, when, and where fans spend their money. We dig into how GWPs developed over time, starting with early promotional packs and polybags, and how they eventually became seasonal, highly targeted, and sometimes region-exclusive incentives. I break down some of the most memorable and valuable GWPs ever released, including my personal favorites, and talk about why certain promos explode in value while others fade almost immediately. The episode also tackles the bigger question: is this actually good for the hobby? Are GWPs enhancing the collecting experience, or are they pushing fans into spending money they wouldn’t otherwise spend just to avoid missing out? I compare buying directly from LEGO versus retailers like Target, and how GWPs factor into that decision more than ever. Finally, we get into the investing side of things. Are GWPs worth buying, holding, or flipping? Can they still be a smart play in today’s market, or has the strategy changed? The answer, as always, is more complicated than it seems. Whether you collect them, chase them, ignore them, or invest in them, GWPs have become LEGO’s secret weapon. The question is whether it’s helping the community… or quietly reshaping it. It’s a massive episode of LEGO news, rumors, and leaks—and this one is absolutely loaded. With nearly 8,300 pieces, an enormous price tag, and an absolutely stacked minifig lineup, this may be the most ambitious LEGO Lord of the Rings set ever attempted. We break down what we’re seeing, what it means for collectors, and whether this is a day-one buy or a wait-and-see moment. And just when you think the episode couldn’t get bigger… LEGO drops a brand-new Shrek theme.Yes—Shrek is officially coming to LEGO, and it’s not a one-off. CMF minifigures, BrickHeadz, a massive buildable Shrek and Donkey set, deep-cut characters, and some eyebrow-raising minifig choices have fans split already. Is this a nostalgia-fueled home run, or one of LEGO’s strangest theme launches in years? We dig into what’s confirmed, what’s rumored, and what this could mean long term. There’s even more packed in: new ICONS sets, Maersk returning to the lineup, a fan-favorite Ideas cat build, postcard collectibles, updates on existing Ideas projects, and a brand-new Yu-Gi-Oh! Mon, 02 Feb 2026 - 152 - Ep. 152 - Ranking EVERY LEGO Architecture Skylines Set & Paris: City of Love Review
How do you rank an entire skyline? Let's find out! In this episode, I take a deep dive into the LEGO Architecture Skyline series and rank every Skyline set ever released, from the early trailblazers to the most recent cityscapes. Which skylines still hold up as display icons, which ones shine because of clever part usage, and which cities… maybe don’t translate as well into bricks? I break down what makes a great Skyline set and why some cities rise above the rest. Along the way, I stop the rankings to give a full, in-depth review of the brand-new LEGO Architecture 21064 Paris – City of Love. Released January 1, 2026, this set brings together Paris’ most recognizable landmarks in one compact display, including the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame, the Arc de Triomphe, and the Louvre. We talk dimensions, build techniques, printed elements, value, and how it compares to both previous Paris sets and the broader Skyline lineup. I score the set across playability, displayability, build experience, and value, then place it directly into the Skyline rankings to see where it truly belongs. Is this a must-have addition for Architecture collectors, or simply a solid entry in an already crowded series? This episode is definitely a long one, but it is absolutely packed, so if you love LEGO Architecture, city skylines, thoughtful reviews, and a little friendly debate about shelf space, this episode is for you. Wed, 28 Jan 2026 - 151 - Ep. 151 - The Nintendo LEGO Hits Just Keep Coming - 1/26/26 - News & Rumors
Something big just revved its engine… and it’s wearing green. A brand-new Super Mario Kart teaser video dropped, and if you caught it, you already know this episode was inevitable. We break down what that teaser is really hinting at, why it matters, and how it lines up perfectly with the biggest news of the week. Let’s just say Luigi fans might want to buckle up, because this could be one of the most exciting Super Mario releases we’ve seen in a long time. But that’s just the starting line. This News & Rumors episode is packed with fast-moving BrickLink drops, official set reveals that range from charming to head-scratching, and a few upcoming mysteries hiding behind code names that have us speculating hard. We talk new display pieces, creative wall builds, a very good dog, a very strange piano situation, and what might be shaping up to be a surprisingly deep wave of Pokémon sets. And then… there’s the footwear. Yes, we address it. Yes, opinions are strong. If you love LEGO news, leaks, rumors, and spirited debate, this episode has it all. We connect the dots, read between the studs, and have a lot of fun doing it. Hit play to get the full breakdown, the context, and the reactions you won’t get from a headline alone. Mon, 26 Jan 2026 - 150 - Ep. 150 - You Have Lost...And LEGO Has Won.
This episode needed to happen. Before we get into the hard truths, we pause to celebrate a major milestone. One hundred and fifty episodes. What started as a short audio-only experiment has grown into a full video podcast with tens of thousands of listeners, over eighty thousand YouTube views, and more watch time than I ever imagined. If you’ve been here for any part of that journey, thank you. Truly. But this episode isn’t a victory lap. It’s a reality check. Over the last year, and especially heading into 2026, it’s become impossible to ignore what LEGO is doing and why they’re doing it. Prices are rising. Big sets are getting bigger. Entry points are disappearing. And this isn’t a temporary phase or a rough patch. We’ve crossed the point of no return. This is not a gripe episode. This is not a rant. This is an acceptance episode. We’re talking honestly about the reality of collecting LEGO in 2026 and beyond, and the uncomfortable truth that LEGO is perfectly fine pricing casual fans and budget-conscious collectors out of the hobby. They don’t need every consumer anymore. The data has proven that. If some people walk away or go third-party, LEGO is okay with that. The system still works for them. The episode breaks down into three parts. First, how we got here, framed through the familiar stages of grief that many longtime fans have unknowingly gone through over the last few years. Then we hit the tipping point, the recent moments that made it crystal clear that LEGO can charge almost anything and still sell out, from licensed juggernauts to preorder numbers that feel almost unreal. Finally, we look forward. What this means for collectors. What it means for investors. And how you can approach the hobby with clearer eyes and better expectations. We talk supply and demand, hype cycles, GWPs, patience, and why “pay to play” is no longer a warning, but the rule. We also discuss alternatives, because for the first time in a long time, going outside the LEGO ecosystem isn’t just a fringe option, it’s a rational one. If you’ve ever felt conflicted about your LEGO spending, frustrated by prices, or unsure how long you can keep up, this episode is for you. Not to tell you to quit, but to help you understand the game as it exists now, not as we wish it still was. LEGO didn’t lose. LEGO didn’t change accidentally. LEGO won. The question is what you do next? Music Credit: YouTube Music Library
Wed, 21 Jan 2026 - 149 - Ep. 149 - LEGO Pokemon Is Finally Here! - 1/19/26 - News & Rumors
This week’s news and rumors episode feels less like a recap and more like a warning.LEGO Pokémon has officially arrived, and the rollout is already doing exactly what many people feared it would. Massive, premium sets. Limited promos. Insider-only rewards. And a buying frenzy that started the moment listings went live. If you’re just now catching up, there’s a very real chance some of this wave is already gone, or already creeping into resale territory. We break down the full Pokémon launch hitting February 27, from the more approachable builds to the massive Kanto-era centerpiece that instantly became the center of controversy. Between exclusive GWPs, Insider point rewards, and a price tag that demands commitment, this release has sparked serious debate about who these sets are really for and whether the average fan ever had a fair shot in the first 24 hours. And Pokémon isn’t the only Nintendo-related shock this week. We also finally got our first look at a brand-new Legend of Zelda set, giving fans a glimpse at what’s coming next for the franchise in LEGO form and adding even more fuel to an already wild week of announcements. On top of that, the episode is stacked with major news across multiple themes, new promos tied to LEGO Insiders, and one of the most loaded BrickLink Designer Program rerelease drops yet. With limited preorder windows, regional release times, and demand already spiking, this is another reminder that timing matters more than ever if you want your hands on sets you thought were already gone forever. We talk hype, scarcity, resellers, and what these rapid sell-outs say about the direction LEGO is heading in 2026. If you want to know what’s coming, what’s controversial, and what you may have already missed, this is an episode you don’t want to skip. Music Credit: YouTube Music Library
Mon, 19 Jan 2026 - 148 - Ep. 148 - An Underrated Bricklink Masterpiece - The Riverside Scholars Review
In this episode, I’m taking a closer look at one of the most quietly interesting releases from the BrickLink Designer Program — Riverside Scholars from Series 4. This is a set that didn’t make a lot of noise at launch, didn’t sell out during preorders, and yet, in my opinion, has aged in a way very few BrickLink sets manage to do. We’ll talk about why Riverside Scholars struggled during preorders, what makes it stand out now, and how its value, presentation, and overall experience compare to other Series 4 releases. It’s a great example of how first impressions don’t always tell the full story — especially in the BrickLink ecosystem. If you’ve skipped over this set, wondered whether it was worth the price, or questioned how BrickLink Designer sets age once the dust settles, this episode is for you. Wed, 14 Jan 2026 - 147 - Ep. 147 - LEGO Sets You NEED To Get In 2026 - 1/12/26 - News & Rumors
If it feels like the LEGO news cycle hit the accelerator all at once, you’re not wrong. This episode is packed. And then packed again. We’re starting with LEGO Ideas, where an eye-popping number of projects just pushed through to the next review round, raising some serious questions about where the theme is headed and how LEGO even begins to sort through that much creativity. From there, the conversation shifts to what is easily my favorite corner of the LEGO universe and the main focus of this episode, the Bricklink Designer Program. Official images for the next series are finally out, preorder dates are locked in, and there is a lot to unpack when it comes to changes, scale, minifigure decisions, pricing, and what these final versions say about the future of the program. From ships to shops to display-first builds, this round of Bricklink designs gives us plenty to debate, and not all of it is universally loved. Some upgrades feel inspired. Others are… worth questioning. Either way, this is the kind of LEGO discussion that rewards long-time fans who care about design philosophy as much as finished models. Then we pivot into the rumor mill, where Architecture fans have new landmarks to react to, Mario collectors have something unexpected on the horizon, and LEGO Editions quietly continues to do its thing. And just when you think the episode couldn’t get any busier, we end with the newest, strangest wildcard in LEGO’s lineup: the Smart Brick. Newly revealed, already controversial, and very much in the “jury is still out” phase, this new technology could change how LEGO approaches play and interactivity… or become a fascinating footnote. There is a lot here. Big ideas, big builds, bold experiments, and more than a few moments that made me stop and say, “Wait… what?” If you like your LEGO news dense, opinionated, and a little overwhelming in the best possible way, this episode is for you. Mon, 12 Jan 2026 - 146 - Ep. 146 - Five LEGO Themes We NEED in 2026
What if LEGO stopped playing it safe for a moment? In this Wild Card Wednesday episode, I’m throwing realism out the window and asking a simple question: what themes should LEGO be brave enough to launch next? Not safe one-offs. Not short-lived experiments. Full, expandable themes that could grow for years and still feel fresh. These ideas live in that sweet spot where imagination meets strategy. They’re the kinds of themes that spark creativity on the floor, look incredible on a shelf, and quietly make a lot of sense for LEGO’s future. Some tap into how kids already play. Others lean hard into education, exploration, and display. A few would instantly ignite collectors, builders, and minifigure fans alike. Each concept opens the door to endless expansion, cross-theme connections, and serious long-term potential. Think annual releases that don’t repeat themselves. Sets that appeal to multiple age groups without watering anything down. Themes that could quietly become cornerstones of the LEGO lineup if handled the right way. None of these are confirmed. None of them are leaks. This is pure “what if” territory. But once you hear the logic behind them, it becomes very hard to unsee how well they fit. Suspend belief. Never say never. Wed, 07 Jan 2026 - 145 - Ep. 145 - LEGO’s New Releases Are Already Gone… Should We Be Worried? - 1/5/26 - News & Rumors
The LEGO shelves are already telling a story in 2026, and it’s only January. In this episode, we take a look at what’s happening right now on LEGO.com and what it might be quietly signaling about demand, release strategy, and where LEGO is putting its focus this year. Several sets that were released just days ago are already completely out of stock, including major Icons, licensed, and anniversary sets, while a surprisingly long list has slipped into backorder almost immediately. We’ll break down what’s selling fast, what’s lingering, and what that says about collector interest versus casual buyers. From Stranger Things and Iron Man to BrickHeadz, Star Wars, and Architecture style builds, there are some clear trends starting to emerge when you look at which themes are struggling to stay on shelves and which ones are sitting comfortably available. Then we pivot to the big official announcements LEGO has already locked in, including a brand-new Lord of the Rings Icons release featuring Sauron’s Helmet and a long list of upcoming Botanicals sets that continue LEGO’s push into adult décor and lifestyle builds. There’s also a closer look at the next wave of floral releases and what their pricing and part counts might tell us about where the Botanicals theme is headed. Finally, we wrap things up with fresh rumors, including a major Technic-style Batmobile returning later in the year, and why 2026 is already shaping up to be a fascinating year for adult LEGO fans, collectors, and long-time builders alike. If you like keeping an eye on LEGO trends, availability, and what might be coming next, this is an episode you won’t want to miss. Music Credit: YouTube Audio Library
Mon, 05 Jan 2026 - 144 - Ep. 144 - Reviewing One of the Best Sets of 2025 - Transformers: Soundwave
In this episode, I take a closer look at one of the boldest LEGO ICONS releases in recent memory and a long-awaited moment for Transformers fans. LEGO finally brings a Decepticon to life in brick form, pulling heavily from classic Generation 1 roots while layering in modern design choices that make this set feel equal parts nostalgic and experimental. This build immediately stands apart from previous Transformers sets, not just because of the character choice, but because LEGO introduces one of its newest pieces of technology here. The LEGO Sound Brick appears for only the third time ever, adding more than twenty voice lines and sound effects that feel ripped straight from childhood. It is undeniably cool, undeniably nostalgic, and yes, it also plays a role in pushing the price higher, which makes the value conversation especially interesting. I compare this release to LEGO’s earlier Transformers builds and talk through where this set evolves the formula and where it takes some risks. From the build process to the final display presence, there is a lot to like here, but there are also a few moments that may divide fans depending on what they want from a premium licensed LEGO set. Is this the most ambitious Transformers set LEGO has released so far? Does the added technology enhance the experience or distract from it? And does this finally feel like the moment Decepticons arrive on equal footing in the LEGO world? I break down what works, what surprised me, and whether this set earns its place among LEGO’s best licensed builds of the year. If Generation 1 Transformers meant something to you, this is one you will want to hear. Music Credit: YouTube Music Library

This week’s News & Rumors episode is absolutely loaded, and it starts with a massive update that Lord of the Rings fans have been waiting years for. After last week’s whispers, we finally have clearer details on what could become the most ambitious Middle-earth LEGO set ever released… and the implications go far beyond just one build. From there, things take a sharp turn into the unexpected. LEGO appears to be diving into entirely new territory with an upcoming K-pop–inspired theme, complete with some surprising design choices that could signal where LEGO thinks pop culture is headed next. Love it or hate it, this one is going to spark conversation. We also dig into major developments across some of LEGO’s biggest licensed themes. One Piece is expanding in a big way for 2026, Pokémon rumors are starting to take real shape across multiple waves, and there’s a mysterious superhero-scale build on the horizon that could mark a major anniversary moment for DC or Marvel fans. Art collectors and Technic builders aren’t left out either, with new high-profile builds rumored to arrive later this year, plus fresh details surrounding May the 4th, including a UCS contender that could divide the fanbase. Mon, 29 Dec 2025 - 142 - Ep. 142 - The Top 10 Best AND Worst LEGO Sets of 2025
Every year LEGO gives us masterpieces… and a few head-scratchers. 2025 was no exception. In this episode, I break down my Top 10 BEST and WORST LEGO sets of the year, and yes, some of these picks are going to ruffle feathers. A fan-favorite ICONS set makes the list, but not for the reason you might expect. A nostalgia-driven release left me genuinely torn. One massive display piece looks incredible… until you actually build it. And there’s a very popular licensed set that I think completely missed the mark. We’re talking bold design swings, questionable value, surprise wins, and at least one set that had everything going for it, yet still fell flat. I’ll also touch on a few honorable mentions that almost cracked the top tier. Agree? Disagree? Either way you’re probably going to have an opinion. Wed, 24 Dec 2025 - 141 - Ep. 141 - Lord of The Rings Fans Rejoice! - 12/22/25 - News & Rumors
In this episode, LEGO rumor season officially goes nuclear. A single whisper has sent the entire LEGO community into speculation mode, and if it’s even remotely true, it could become one of the most ambitious licensed sets LEGO has ever attempted. We’re talking Middle-earth. We’re talking scale. And we’re talking about a build that could completely redefine what LEGO Icons is willing to do with fantasy themes. But that’s just the beginning. We also dig into a surprising sci-fi property making its way into LEGO form, several gift-with-purchase builds that might quietly become sleeper favorites, and a packed wave of January releases that signals where LEGO’s priorities are heading in 2026. From architecture and botanicals to Icons, BrickHeadz, and beyond, there’s a lot to unpack — including some price shifts that may raise eyebrows. This episode is all about reading between the bricks. Mon, 22 Dec 2025 - 140 - Ep. 140 - LEGO’s First True Giant - The UCS Imperial Star Destroyer Review
In this episode, we’re traveling back to the early days of UCS LEGO Star Wars to revisit a set that once redefined what a LEGO model could be. Long before massive boxes, interior details, and hyper-engineered builds became the norm, there was a single gray triangle that changed everything. Released in the early 2000s, this set wasn’t just big for its time — it was unthinkable. It shattered piece-count records, pushed LEGO into uncharted territory, and became a benchmark that future Ultimate Collector Series sets would be judged against for years. At one point, this was the biggest LEGO set ever made. But how does it hold up today? With modern UCS giants on the shelves and building standards evolving dramatically over the last two decades, this episode takes a hard look at whether this legendary Star Destroyer is still worthy of its reputation — or if it’s simply a relic of a different LEGO era. We’ll talk about the build experience, the design choices that feel dated now, the surprisingly bold engineering decisions LEGO made at the time, and how it stacks up against its modern successor. There’s nostalgia here, yes, but also some honest criticism that might surprise longtime fans. If you’ve ever wondered where the UCS line truly began… or whether the originals still deserve their pedestal… this is one review you won’t want to miss. Music Credit: YouTube Music Library

This massive build isn’t just another sci-fi display piece; it’s a full celebration of Star Trek: The Next Generation, packed with surprises, clever engineering, and more nostalgic nods than you might expect from a LEGO starship. And yes… there are also a couple of “I wish they’d done this differently” moments we need to talk about. Mon, 01 Dec 2025 - 134 - Ep. 134 - Top 5 LEGO Sets That Changed the Game
In this episode, we’re diving deep into the LEGO sets that didn’t just sell out or look cool on a shelf — these are the sets that altered the entire trajectory of the LEGO brand. I’m not talking the biggest, the most expensive, or the fan-favorite classics. I’m talking about the true industry-shakers. The sets that made LEGO rethink its strategy… expand its boundaries… or even rescue itself from disaster (Or put it there). Over the last fifty years, a handful of builds have quietly — and sometimes loudly — reshaped what LEGO is and what it could become. Maybe it was a set that launched a brand-new theme. Maybe it introduced a radical building technique. Maybe it opened the door to a partnership that changed LEGO forever. Or maybe… it was the right (or the wrong) set during a critical moment in LEGO history. These are the five sets that moved the needle more than any others — not necessarily the “best,” but the ones that left the biggest fingerprints on LEGO’s future. And fair warning: a couple of these picks might surprise you… or even spark some healthy debate in the comments. Join me as I reveal my Top 5 Game-Changing LEGO Sets, along with why each one mattered, what it changed, and how it helped build the LEGO we know today. And make sure to hang around until the end for some honorable mentions, plus a sneak peek of upcoming episodes you won’t want to miss. Thanks for tuning in — now let’s talk about the sets that didn’t just build worlds…they built LEGO itself. Music Credit: YouTube Music Library

Mon, 24 Nov 2025 - 132 - Ep. 132 - We're Heading Back to Hawkins - Stranger Things: The Upside Down Review
This week, we’re diving headfirst into the most ambitious, bizarre, brilliant TV-inspired LEGO set ever released — 75810 Stranger Things: The Upside Down. And yes… we’re flipping it. Literally. With 2,287 pieces spread across 18 bags and a price tag that debuted at just $200, this set has only grown more legendary since its 2019 launch, especially after disappearing into the LEGO vault in 2021. Now it’s pulling big money on the secondary market, but today we’re looking at what made it special in the first place. I break down everything: the dual-world design that still feels like magic, the 26-sticker Byers house loaded with show details, and that eerie light-up alphabet wall that basically screams “RUN.” From Joyce’s frantic flashlight accessories to Lucas’ slingshot, Dustin’s walkie-talkie, Will the Wise’s wizard hat, and Hopper’s pumpkin-toting police truck — it’s a full nostalgia bomb packed into 12 inches of vertical, 17 inches of horizontal, and a whole lot of creepy charm. We’ll talk minifigs too: Eleven, Mike, Lucas, Dustin, Will, Joyce, Hopper, and of course… the Demogorgon. Some of the best character prints LEGO has ever done for a live-action property. And because we always keep it honest, I break down where this set shines and where it stumbles, with ratings for playability, displayability, build experience, and value. So, Is it worth the current aftermarket prices? Would it still hold up today? And how does it stack against the new Creel House landing in 2026? If you missed this set the first time around, or you just want to relive the glory of one of LEGO’s boldest designs ever - this is the upside-down deep dive you’ve been waiting for. LEGO may be unstoppable right now — the Thanos of the toy world — but history tells us even the strongest empires can crumble if they stop evolving. From near-bankruptcy in the early 2000s to total domination in 2025, LEGO’s story is one of reinvention and resilience. But here’s the question: how do they keep it that way? In this episode, I dive into the five things LEGO must do in 2026 to stay relevant, keep fans happy, and avoid repeating the same mistakes that almost ended the company two decades ago. Mon, 27 Oct 2025 - 124 - Ep. 124 - The Greatest Architecture Set Ever? LEGO Neuschwanstein Castle Review
You ever build a LEGO set that feels more like an art exhibit than a pile of bricks? That’s Neuschwanstein Castle — the latest LEGO Architecture masterpiece and one of the most jaw-dropping builds of the year. With 3,455 pieces and not a single sticker in sight, this set is pure elegance from turret to tower. In this episode, I dive into why this Bavarian beauty might be one of LEGO’s most ambitious architectural builds ever. We’ll talk about King Ludwig II — the so-called “Mad King” who dreamed it up, the wild history behind the real castle (including its ties to Disney and World War II), and what makes this model so stunning in person. From printed bricks galore to a staircase tower that would make Rapunzel jealous, this is one royal review you won’t want to miss. Grab your crown, pour a pretentious cup of tea, and let’s see if LEGO’s $280 tribute to madness and majesty is truly worth its weight in limestone. Music Credit: YouTube Music Library
Wed, 22 Oct 2025 - 123 - Ep. 123 - Bricklink Results, The Return of Gondor, and The Upside Down is Back - 10/20/25 - News & Rumors
This week, we’re diving into the aftermath of the Bricklink Designer Program Series 6 preorders — and the results are in! Outlaw Forest Den shot straight past 45,000, while The Art Factory and Gold Mine Expedition put up strong numbers of their own. A few others, like Sequoia Tree Trail, are well short of sale expectations, but it’s fascinating to see which builds captured the community’s imagination. We’ll talk trends, surprises, and what these results might mean for the upcoming Series 9 finalists and the future of the program. Then we circle back to the deep end — literally — with an update on the Tropical Aquarium (10366). It turns out the new price tag swims in at $480 instead of $500, which… I guess makes it a bargain now? Sure. We’ll also talk about its companion GWP — the Fish Filter — and the oddly adorable Insiders Reward Fish Tank that rounds out LEGO’s current obsession with all things aquatic. But the real headline this week? Minas Tirith. The long-rumored Lord of the Rings set might finally be happening, and the rumored minifigure lineup has me absolutely giddy: Gandalf the White, King Aragorn, Pippin, Denethor, Faramir, four Gondor soldiers and more! If this one’s real, it’s shaping up to be the ultimate display piece for Middle-earth fans. We’ll also touch on Speed Champions’ new DeLorean, The Goonies set that’s packing twelve minifigs into a ship half the size of the original concept, and a few early looks at next year’s Harry Potter anniversary lineup exclusive collectibles. From forest dens to fortresses of men, and from overpriced aquariums to affordable nostalgia — this week’s episode is a wild ride through LEGO’s best (and strangest) upcoming releases. This week, we’re diving headfirst into the glorious chaos that is the Bricklink Designer Program Series 9 — all 436 submissions of it. Yes, you heard that right. Four hundred and thirty-six. I went through every single one so you don’t have to — though if you’re a glutton for punishment (or pure LEGO brilliance), I highly recommend scrolling through them yourself. In this episode, I’ll walk you through my Top 5 Finalists from the series — the builds that stopped me mid-scroll and made me say, “Okay… now that’s clever.” I’ll break down what makes each one stand out, how I landed on my categories of “winners,” and even share a few runner-ups that almost made the list but didn’t quite make the final brick cut. This episode is part review, part celebration, and part therapy session after staring at hundreds of medieval castles and space stations for hours on end. But at its core, it’s about what makes the Bricklink Designer Program so special — regular fans with incredible talent creating sets that sometimes rival (and let’s be honest, occasionally surpass) official LEGO releases. So whether you’re voting, building, or just here to live vicariously through the madness, stick around until the end to see if your favorites made the list. And remember — voting doesn’t last forever, so if one of these sets speaks to you, make sure to go show it some love before time runs out. Music Credit: YouTube Music Library
Wed, 15 Oct 2025 - 121 - Ep. 121 - The New Huge, UCS, Ultra Incredible...Fishtank? 10/13/25 - News & Rumors
This week’s LEGO news and rumors episode is… wild. We’ve got castles, Batmobiles, bonus points — and a fish tank so bizarrely expensive you might actually need to take out a small loan just to feed it. Yep, LEGO has officially jumped the shark (or maybe the clownfish) with the Icons Tropical Aquarium — 4,100+ pieces of aquatic chaos priced at $500. It’s beautiful. It’s weird. It’s… way too much. We’ll talk about why it even exists — and why I can’t stop thinking about it. Plus:Bricklink Designer Program Series 6 pre-orders wrap up today, and LEGO quietly removed the counter feature (because apparently, numbers are scary now?). Series 9 is coming with 436 designs — the biggest lineup yet — and I’ll tell you which ones deserve your attention (hint: castles are back in a big way). New Batman sets are on the horizon — from a gold-helmet anniversary figure to yet another Batmobile that somehow looks just different enough. And don’t miss this week’s GWP sneak peeks and a special shoutout to my Australian and New Zealand listeners for a wildlife-inspired surprise that’s… well, part LEGO, part sculpture, and part “wait, did you say glued?” It’s a weird, wonderful week in the LEGO universe — and Wednesday, I’ll drop my Top 5 Series 9 picks.Hit play, because you’re not gonna believe half of what LEGO’s doing right now.
