This Week on the Toy Power Podcast; we have a few scheduling conflicts, so it's just Ben & Scot in the studio; with the always entertaining Mr. Davey Damaged joining us as well!!  Kicking things into gear, we discuss the latest News that is hitting our radar.  With a heart-felt tribute to some of the recent passings; we reflect on what some of these larger than life people have done; & how each of them will be missed.  Then we chat towards the very lack-luster reveal of King Hiss from the MOTU Chronicles line.  Peacemaker from Mezco 1:12 is arguably the definitive Toy version of this character we will likely ever get!  McFarlane wrap things up with their Wave 16 of DC Super Powers - with an interesting line-up of Characters.  But with this being the finale; who are we missing from this overall toy line-up?  PlayStation One are getting the Lego treatment; which honestly looks great; but what is with their Easter Egg game choices?!  Then we pivot into a general chat towards Latest Scores & then followed up with Reading / Playing / Watching.  An overall fun episode - if not for Ben continually tripping over his sentences!

This Week on the Toy Power Podcast; even though we are Celebrating our 10th Year of Podcasting; we unfortunately exhausted all our energy on the Previous SDCC Reveals & Announcements Ep.  So we are giving you a ReIssue episode instead from the Vault. (Originally Posted as Ep #143 - from October 2019).  

Original blurb: It’s a very special ep as we’re joined by not one, but two of favourite guests in Davey Damaged and Scotty so that’s right – it’s a Homer episode! Trent takes us through a vintage retrospective look at The Addams family by Playmates. Perfectly timed for Halloween, we wonder what could have been with this short-lived line and look to the future of the franchise as a new movie approaches. What characters didn’t get made, which ones make the camera glow and where does MC Hammer fit into it all? We make the jump to Show and Tell as Davey tries to trump us all with a purchase so large, we doubt it will actually fit in his toy room! There’s some DC, MOTU and even Final Fantasy options to choose from. Frank gives a lovely tribute showing that sometimes, the value of a toy; lays in more than its sticker price. Then it’s Quiz time and with Davey onboard, anything is possible. To say this episode goes off the rails is putting it mildly – but on the plus side we learnt that Trent can’t hold his liquor, Ben thinks photos record sound, Space Jam was an event and Rick Moranis is Trent’s muse. So hold on for this crazy ride that also serves as a farewell for one of the team…

This Week on the Toy Power Podcast; we dive back into our regular News Segment - with quite a bit to cover!  First off, a recap from Episode 1 (of 4) from Trent's latest Lego Masters Bricktacula Event!  Then, an exciting announcement from Cards & Collectables season 2 - now with an official release date!  A New 4-Armed Beast is announced for the MOTU Origins line; who is hyped for this?!  New Movie MOTU characters announced plus some awesome TMNT plus Ghostbusters multi-packs from Mondo. S7 Silverhawks keep on delivering more characters; & Blokees tease an Absolute Batman.  McFarlane announces more Batman related characters; then Robosen showcase the most Superior Decepticon of them all!  The Cross-Over nobody asked for?  -Transformers X Scooby Doo offer.  Sometimes you think that some modern toys can't do any better; but somehow, SH Figuarts said "Hold My Beer!"  Lego showcase the first round of Pokémon Mini-Figures plus in scale Pokémon Characters too; all in a very nice looking Build.  Then Ben tests the lads with the return of The Quiz!  Is it too hard?  How many did you know?

This Week on the Toy Power Podcast; we have HEAPS of awesome Pop Culture News & Announcements to cover!!  But at the very Top of our list, is the extremely exciting announcement that Trent is a contestant again on Lego Masters Australia!  This Bricktacular Event will be held over four episodes & he is a part of a team of three - consisting of himself, Alex & Felix! We wish him good-luck in advance!  Then onto Toy News with McFarlane Super Powers Officially revealing their wave 14 line-up; plus One:12 Collective announce an awesome Vintage style Punisher figure with ALL the Guns!  Another Godzilla figure from Super7 & so many G.I. Joe figures, its hard to keep up with!  Star Wars Black Series 'Expands their Universe', plus a neat addition to the Archie Comic Book Figure line-up that rounds out the set of Mighty Mutanimals.  A Blind-Box offer of TMNT figs from Playmates that doesn't impress us much; but Batman media announcements & release dates certainly has us hyped indeed.  Then we round out the ep with a Classic segment of Reading, Watching, Playing.  Ben praises The Absolute Batman Comics, Frank appreciates the Supergirl film, Scot is impressed by the 'Obsessions' film; & Trent is flying the Aussie Flag for the World Cup Soccer!  All this & More!  Enjoy!!

This Week on the Toy Power Podcast; we are unfortunately once again missing Scot; but making up the Forth Member of the show; & back from his recent UK Trip; we have Special Guest: Matt Tealeó!  Matt systematically guides us through his most recent Toy Hunting Tour through UK!  Kicking things off at "Leicester Vintage" & "Retrodee Toys"; with a very difficult mindset of self control & retaining enough money for the rest of the Trip!  Then traveling next to the impressive: "Space Bridge"; which certainly holds up its name for Transformers fans!  Next adventure was "The Vintage ToyMonster"; that was very well stocked indeed.  Moving on next to: "Back To The Retro" which was positioned in a Mall.  Then heading over to the incredibly well curated & equally spectacular: "Retro By Ronnie."   Touring on then to both "Nerdbase" & "The London Toyshop".  Next expedition was to "Hertfordshire Vintage Toys," with their striking Cabinet presentations!  Then wrapping up at the awe-inspiring "88mph Toys" which seemed to have everything!!  Then we bring it back to the Studio; with an exciting Gift-Box from Matt; for us to open!  Wrapping up the Episode is a great overlook of what we are each Reading, Playing &/or Watching!  Enjoy!

This Week on the Toy Power Podcast; we are all back together again in the studio; ready to share our latest exciting Stories of Adventure!  Scot traveled to Melbourne & caught the 20th Anniversary of Wrestle Rock; as well as the Evil Dead -Musical; along with his partner Jo, Brett & Sarah.  Frank traveled with his Family to Japan, & soaked in the awesome atmosphere & Culture!  Including the height of Cherry Blossom Season!  Disneyland certainly proved to be the happiest place on earth; plus creating new friends too!  Ben car-pooled with Davey to Ballarat Victoria, for the incredibly entertaining Live Recording of Passive Aggressive ep 200!  Then a trip to Melbourne to catch Renegades Of Wrestling!  Trent & Fam adventured to Japan too - with some amazing stories of Universal Studios & Toy Hunting as far as his feet could take him!!  Then we bring it back to our local area; in which Ben, Frank & Scot attended Brett & Sarah's: Adelaide Comic & Toy Fair event!  We each sold there & had the best day!  With all said above - you can only imagine what we each come together to get amped-up about.... Our Latest Scores!  This is a rather big boost from each of us; as we shout-out the goodies we have got from all over the place!!  All this & more - enjoy this extended ep!

Ben is still recovering so the three Musketeers are at it again. Scot takes us on a trip across the galaxy and comic book history as we look at what might just be the first ever comic book crossover super team. Avengers? Justice League? Never heard of em. Make mine: Defenders of the Earth. These guys are so old school, Scot has to explain where the term "Pulp" Action Heroes comes from! Going a little less further back in time, Trent debuts a new segment called "From the Archives" where we delve into the mind of 1990s Toyfare Magazine writers to see just what they were smoking. And much like the 90s itself, things are a little, funky. We also preview another new segment and some of our upcoming international travels! It's all happening!

This week on the Toy Power Podcast; we recap our attendance at the Adelaide Mega Toy Fair event.  This annual event promotes itself for its long running campaign; but with new organisers this year, how did it actually go?  We chat towards what we spotted, what we think needs to be improved & what we scored!!  Spoiler alert: Pub Lunch & making a day of it with great friends, is always the overall highlight!!  Then Trent does an awesome Toyline Retrospective on the early 80's franchise that was: Blackstar!  With a Filmation Cartoon airing first in 1981; then a corresponding Toyline from Galoob in 1983!  Featuring the fight between our Hero: John Blackstar against the Evil Ruler: Overlord on the Planet Sagar.  This Toyline & franchise actually has more ties to Masters Of The Universe than one may think....  There are some EPIC Beasts, questionable modes of transport & the incredibly sort after Ice Castle Playset - this Franchise really tried hard & its interesting to think in a sliding doors parallel reality - could this have been a more popular franchise than Masters Of The Universe?!  Then rounding out the episode, we squeeze a quick round table, around some of our Latest Scores!

Its all things Kickstarter including the incredible upcoming books titled G.I.JOE: A Real American Hero Field Guides by 3DJOES, and the arrival of the Creature Commando's wave 1 (4 figures - large animal warriors inspired by Battle Beasts) and then its over to another instalment of the Vintage Toy line Retrospective as we delve into a long running construction toy originally created by Milton Bradley - 1984's Robotix. Its the modular, motorized robot construction toy that was ahead of its time, which got 15 six minute long episodes (with a plot twist no-one saw coming) and a single issue comic book! Dan Larson refers to it as an "oddity", and a toy that was too nerdy and educational for the cool kids! A couple of other bits and bobs in here too, a new Lego certified store opening in SA, as well as some tariff analysis and Colin's take on how Canadian's feel about becoming the 51st US state.

This week on The Toy Power Podcast, with Halloween still fresh in our minds, we invite DoesTEN back on the show to give us a great insight on how the American's Celebrate this famous Halloween event.  Including some neat stories from his youth.  Then keeping with that similar scarry topic, we embark on creating a Top 10 list, detailing some of the more questionable Horror Themed Toys that where marketed to Kids (pre 2000).  Some of them derive from Horror Films of the same name, and others are stand-alone properties that have Horror themes.  We absolutely must give Swamp Thing a shout-out too as he has been depicted in some quite mature Comicbook story lines too.  Did we miss anything, please let us know!

Today on the Toy power Podcast its our Halloween House of Horrors special! And what makes an episode more special than our favourite guest and self-confessed expert at scaring kids, Mr Davey Damaged! We look at the spookiest, creepiest and down0right disturbing toys every produced. From the glory days of the 80s with Warrior Beasts, Skeleton Warrors and Aliens, through to the modern era dominated by the likes of McFarlane and NECA. We then branch out into some of our favourite Halloween episodes from TV-land. Simpsons, Goosebumps, Scooby-Doo and even Supernatural. Working our way out of the spooky-land we answer some fan questions including how would we handle a Monsters in Pocket/Mighty Max reboot line, and a virtual wish-list of what figures we want from our fave modern toylines. Safety warning for this episode: Trent likes to lure girls into bathrooms, Ben likes to scare his future-wife with Gremlins and Davey does a creepy good Trent impression in one of our more memorable outros.

This week on the Toy Power Podcast, we have Special Guest: Craig Goldberg just us!  Well known on the Toy Anxiety Podcast as well as the greater "YHS" Community!  We run Craig through the standard initiation questions, with his answers heading towards his passion towards Sports Stars and defending Movie Sequels...  Then we get into a bit of a round trouble discussion about our own 'State Of The Nation.' Where are we at with our Toy Collecting habits & what might be on the horizon?  Plus some fun reflection stories from the past too; (or two?).  A little bit of Hot Toys banter; with a name drop of a potential on-par competitor company by the name of Jazzinc Dioramas - their Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman is outstanding!  We question- who and what is a Matt Bush?!  Then we get the low down on just how YHS began, but also their impressive involvement in all things Ghostbusters related; - including some involvement with the new films!!  Then we do another round table segment of Latest Scores otherwise known as Pick-ups!

We attended a Toy Store grand opening and while it was amazing, it was also the source of some Toy Power controversy - one of the team has some explaining to do!

This week on the Toy Power Podcast, we have Matt Teale back, to join us for another fun episode.  But first, Matt would like to promote his upcoming journey in the "Shitbox Rally".  Which translated into driving through Australia, across some very formidable roads.  Matt & co-driver Chris aka Darstardly & Muttley, will be embarking on this journey next year, and is looking for donations, in a campaign for the Cancer Council.  (Link bellow.)  Then we jump into our Main Topic, which is another Best-Of-Voting crusade; this time all based around the Toy Heroes released from the 70's & 80's.  We each have 5 votes each, with rules of no double-ups and no calling out the same character each from a franchise.  This is another great run-down and suprisingly diverse too.  With an extra voter on the pannel this round, its not suprising we have a few double-ups, but thankfully we have some secondary fall back choices.  Rounding out the ep, we run out of time for a proper Latest scores chat, but there is a suprise for Frank that he opens on air.
