At last! The History of British Cinema now has a dedicated podcast. In each episode Mike and Matthew, two film fanatics, will trace the history of film in Britain from its pioneering beginnings to the present day. Along the way we'll go into detail about the work of familiar figures and franchises like Alfred Hitchcock, Ealing Comedies and The Carry-On films. But we'll also dwell on less well remembered landmarks from our cinematic past.

Sun, 08 Dec 2024 - 36min - 12 - Alfred Hitchcock Part Three
So where can you watch Hitchcock’s early talking pictures? They are mostly available on free streaming sites and, as of November 2024, you can watch Rich and Strange, and Juno and the Paycock for free on Roku TV.
If you want the full Blu-Ray experience then Studio Canal are releasing a box set containing all his late silent and early talking pictures complete with documentaries, extras, and the Hitchcock/Truffaut dialogues. It’ll set you back one penny short of £120, but if you really want everything minus Waltzes from Vienna then you couldn’t ask for more.
https://hmv.com/store/film-tv/blu-ray/hitchcock-the-beginning
Waltzes from Vienna can be bought seperately on DVD.
