Wed, 30 Sep 2026 - 31min - 3208 - YANKEES POSTCAST: Cam's Arm & Ben's Bat Crush Sox
Cam Schlittler pitched another playoff gem against the Boston Red Sox, and Ben Rice also burned their hometown team with a late grand slam and six RBIs as the New York Yankees opened this Wild Card Series rematch with a 9-0 victory Tuesday night. With the Yankees minus star slugger Aaron Judge because of a calf injury, Rice homered twice, doubled and finished with four hits to power the offense. No. 9 batter Austin Wells drove in two runs for New York, and 21-year-old rookie George Lombard Jr. had three hits in his postseason debut. Rice and Schlittler were both raised among Red Sox fans in Massachusetts and went to college in New England before getting plucked by the Yankees out of Boston's backyard in baseball's amateur draft. Schlittler, a clear frontrunner for the AL Cy Young Award after leading the league with a 1.95 ERA, struck out 10 and walked one in 6 1/3 innings. He allowed only two hits while throwing 117 pitches - 10 more than his previous career high and most by a Yankees postseason starter since Hall of Fame lefty CC Sabathia threw 121 in the 2012 AL Division Series against Baltimore. Ben Rice hit his 40th and 41st home runs, Ryan McMahon added a grand slam while matching his career high with five RBIs and the New York Yankees beat the Tampa Bay Rays 9-2 on Wednesday night. Gerrit Cole (10-9) allowed two runs and three hits in 5 2/3 innings with eight strikeouts and three walks. The 2023 AL Cy Young Award winner had a 3.61 ERA and 131 strikeouts over 22 starts and 127 innings following his return in May from Tommy John surgery. A day after Tampa Bay clinched the AL East title, Rice hit the first pitch of the first inning from Mason Englert (0-4) into the right-field second deck for his fourth career leadoff homer and second this season. Rice added a solo drive in the fourth for his fifth career multihomer game and finished with three hits. He is tied for the AL home run lead with Baltimore's Pete Alonso, the Rays' Junior Caminero and Houston's Yordan Alvarez. George Lombard Jr. also homered for the Yankees and Cedric Mullins went deep for the Rays. New York is assured of hosting a best-of-three AL Wild Card Series starting Tuesday, likely against Boston. The winner will face the Rays in a best-of-five Division Series. McMahon had an RBI single in the second and boosted the lead to 7-0 in the third with his third career slam. Wed, 23 Sep 2026 - 31min - 3201 - YANKEES POSTCAST: The 'Los and Belly' Show!
Carlos Rodón allowed three hits in eight sharp innings and the New York Yankees prevented the Tampa Bay Rays from clinching the AL East title with a 2-0 victory in the opener of a day-night doubleheader on Tuesday. The Yankees (90-66) moved six games ahead of the Red Sox for the AL’s top wild-card spot. Tampa Bay (95-61) has a magic number of two to clinch the AL East for the fifth time in team history and first since 2021. Cody Bellinger hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning off Tampa Bay starter Nick Martinez (15-5) and also started a key double play to end the sixth by throwing out Victor Mesa Jr. at first. Rodón (7-3) struck out eight and walked none while completing eight innings for the first time since July 11, 2025, against the Cubs. The left-hander, who recorded his 100th win, became the 18th active pitcher to reach 1,500 career strikeouts when he fanned Jonny DeLuca on a slider for the second out of the eighth. Rodón also struck out AL MVP candidate Junior Caminero on a slider in the dirt in the seventh with a runner on after reaching 98 mph on the previous two pitches. Rodón threw first-pitch strikes to 15 of 25 hitters and improved to 3-1 in seven starts since returning from left elbow inflammation last month. Following a double by Ben Rice off Martinez in the fourth, Bellinger lifted the next pitch into the right field seats for a 2-0 lead. After a single by Mesa started the sixth, Richie Palacios lifted a fly ball to Bellinger. Bellinger made the catch and a strong one-hop throw to first baseman Luis García Jr. to easily complete the double play and get his eighth outfield assist this year. Martinez allowed two runs and five hits in six innings. The right-hander struck out seven and lost for the first time since July 9. David Bednar retired Yandy Díaz for his 35th save in 39 chances and finish New York’s 15th shutout in 2 hours, 2 minutes - the Yankees’ fastest game this season. New York rallied from a 2-0 deficit, tying the game on Anthony Volpe’s two-run double in the ninth, then taking the lead twice in extras. But the Twins answered each time, and Victor Caratini delivered the game-winning single in the 13th. Aaron Judge hit a three-run home run that capped a six-run eighth inning, and the New York Yankees beat the Minnesota Twins 8-3 Monday on a night they clinched their 61st postseason berth and ninth in 10 seasons. Judge had been 3 for 20 with 11 strikeouts since returning last week after missing 84 games because of a fractured rib. Judge hit a cutter from A.J. Minter 415 feet into the second deck in left field for his 18th home run this season, his first since May 24. His drive came a few minutes before Detroit beat Toronto, clinching a playoff berth for the Yankees. New York (87-63) has won six of seven and moved a season-high 24 games over .500. The Yankees are 3 1/2 games behind AL East-leading Tampa Bay (90-59). Josh Bell homered off Tim Hill (5-2) and Emmanuel Rodriguez had a two-run triple for the Twins, who have lost eight of 11 while fading from postseason contention. José Caballero hit a go-ahead homer in the third inning and a single off Andrew Morris (4-8) that tied the score in the eighth. Ben Rice added a two-run bloop single and, after a Cody Bellinger infield single, Judge elicited a hearty roar from the large contingent of Yankee fans with his no-doubt drive. Austin Wells homered in the ninth. John Schreiber earned his second save with 1 1/3 hitless innings. Join JAY BERMAN for the Yankees Postcast!!!

Mon, 24 Aug 2026 - 35min - 3172 - YANKEES POSTCAST: Yanks WITHIN 3 of Rays after 5th Straight Win
Rookie Spencer Jones hit a towering two-run homer in the second inning that was upheld on replay, and the New York Yankees beat the Toronto Blue Jays 3-1 on Friday night for their fifth straight victory. New York starter Cam Schlittler (11-6) held the Blue Jays to one run and six hits in six innings. The tall right-hander allowed one earned run or fewer for the major league-leading 19th time and got his first win since July 24. After Trent Grisham opened the second with a walk, Jones lifted Spencer Arrighetti’s 2-1 curveball to right field. The ball stayed fair, passed the foul pole before landing about halfway up the second deck. Jones watched the flight of the ball before starting his home run trot. As he was about halfway through, Toronto manager John Schneider called for a review and the home run stood following a brief delay. It was Jones’ seventh homer and the second time he homered in consecutive games. Jones also went deep at Wrigley Field July 31-Aug. 1. José Caballero lifted a sacrifice fly for a 3-0 lead in the fourth as the Yankees won for the ninth time in 13 games. New York moved within three games of first-place Tampa Bay in the AL East. Schlittler pitched with runners on for most of his outing. He struck out Jesús Sánchez with two on to end the third, retired Myles Straw with two on to end the fourth before getting an inning-ending double play in the fifth. Alejandro Kirk had an RBI single in the fifth that extended his hitting streak to 10 games. After opener Mason Fluharty faced four hitters, Arrighetti (7-6) allowed three runs in 3 1/3 innings in his Toronto debut. Brent Headrick struck out pinch hitter George Springer with a runner on third to end the seventh. David Bednar recorded his 30th save in 33 chances. Join JAY BERMAN for the Yankees Postcast!!!

Thu, 20 Aug 2026 - 36min - 3169 - YANKEES POSTCAST: Foul or Fair, Yanks Feel Fortunate!
Pete Alonso's drive down the left-field line in the seventh inning was ruled foul, and the New York Yankees took advantage of that reprieve, scoring twice in the top of the eighth to beat the Baltimore Orioles 5-3 on Wednesday night. Alonso, who had already homered in the third, nearly went deep again with the score tied at 3. His fly to left was initially called foul. One replay seemed to show the ball on the fair side of the pole, but it wasn't clear what angle it was shot from. After a review, the call stood and Alonso ended up striking out. The following inning, Cam Sanders (1-1) loaded the bases with a walk and two hit batters. Yennier Cano came on with two outs, and George Lombard Jr. hit a slow roller for an infield single to put New York ahead. Then a wild pitch made it 5-3. Brent Headrick (7-2) won in relief. David Bednar worked the ninth for his 29th save in 32 chances. Ben Rice homered for New York, and Alonso and Dylan Beavers went deep for the Orioles. Baltimore has lost three straight since pulling briefly ahead in the race for the American League's final wild card. The Orioles took a 1-0 lead in the first on a double steal. Gunnar Henderson swiped second base while Jackson Holliday dashed from third to home. Ryan McMahon's RBI single in the second tied it, and Lombard followed with a sacrifice fly. Rice's 34th home run went 431 feet in the third to make it 3-1. The ball landed just under the big scoreboard in right-center field at Camden Yards. But Alonso extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a drive to the same part of the ballpark, just a little shorter than Rice's. He has 29 homers in his first year in Baltimore. Beavers tied it in the sixth off Fernando Cruz with an opposite-field drive to left - just to the right of where the wall out there deepens. The Yankees try for a sweep Thursday night with Gerrit Cole (6-6) on the mound against Baltimore's Kyle Bradish (7-11). Join JAY BERMAN for the Yankees Postcast!!!

George Lombard Jr. homered in a memorable big league debut and the New York Yankees beat the St. Louis Cardinals 2-0 on Tuesday night. In the fifth inning, Lombard homered in his second at-bat by hitting an 0-2 sweeper over the middle of the plate from St. Louis starter Hunter Dobbins (2-2) into the left-field seats. As he completed his first home run trot in the majors, Lombard’s parents hugged in the stands. Lombard’s 392-foot drive gave the Yankees a 2-0 lead. It was the first homer by a Yankees player in his major league debut since Jasson Domínguez went deep in the first inning against Justin Verlander in Houston on Sept. 1, 2023. At 21 years, 63 days old, Lombard became the sixth-youngest Yankees player since 1985 to make his debut and the second-youngest shortstop in that span. Derek Jeter debuted May 29, 1995, in Seattle at 20 years, 337 days. Lombard also helped Ryan Weathers (5-7) pitch six strong innings by starting inning-ending double plays in the third and fifth. Wed, 1 Jul 2026 - 36min - 3117 - YANKEES POSTCAST: Yankees Losing SKID Stretches to 7, Longest Since 2023
The New York Yankees’ losing streak stretched to seven, their longest in three years, as Camilo Doval forced in the go-ahead run with a bases-loaded walk to Spencer Torkelson in a four-run 11th inning that gave the Detroit Tigers a 6-2 victory Wednesday. New York rallied with two runs in the ninth and stranded runners at second and third in the 10th when Keider Montero (5-5) struck out Ali Sánchez. With two outs and one on in the 11th, Doval (3-1) intentionally walked Riley Greene, then issued consecutive walks to Hao-Yu Lee and Torkelson. Zach McKinstry followed with a two-run single and another run scored on a throwing error by Sánchez, the Yankees catcher - New York’s 17th error in 12 games. New York is on its longest losing streak since a nine-game skid from Aug. 12-22, 2023. The Yankees, missing Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton and Trent Grishman, had seven hits and totaled just 23 in their last six games. New York has lost 11 of 14 and is 12-15 since Judge fractured a rib. Detroit took three games from New York, its first series sweep of the Yankees since 2008. Down 2-0, New York tied the game in the ninth when Amed Rosario homered and Drew Anderson threw a run-scoring wild pitch. Rookie Kevin McGonigle homered in the third off Will Warren and Greene lifted a sacrifice fly in the sixth. Troy Melton held the Yankees to two hits in 6 1/3 innings on a 95-degree Fahrenheit day. Tarik Skubal pitched six innings of one-hit ball and Riley Greene hit two of Detroit's four homers off Cam Schlittler as the Detroit Tigers beat the New York Yankees 9-3 on Tuesday night and sent New York to its season-worst sixth straight loss. The Tigers hit five homers overall against the Yankees for the first time since Aug. 30, 2018. Skubal (4-4), making his fourth start since returning from elbow surgery, allowed only Ben Rice’s 23rd homer in the first inning and an unearned run in the sixth. The two-time defending AL Cy Young Award winner struck out nine and walked none after allowing four runs to the Yankees last week in Detroit. Skubal threw 61 of 87 pitches for strikes and retired 12 straight after Rice’s homer in the first. Greene hit a solo shot during a four-run first inning off Schlittler (8-5) and added a two-run drive in the third for a 6-1 lead. It was Greene’s eighth career multi-homer game. Before Greene's first homer, Kerry Carpenter hit a solo shot in which center fielder Spencer Jones could not complete a leaping catch at the right-center field fence and saw the ball pop out of his glove into the Yankees’ bullpen. Spencer Torkelson hit a two-run homer to cap a 10-pitch at-bat in which he fouled off six pitches. Schlittler allowed a career-high six runs runs and seven hits in four-plus innings. The hard-throwing right-hander had his ERA climb from 1.62 to 2.08. Schlittler allowed four homers after allowing six homers in his first 17 starts. He had never allowed more than two in any start and became the first Yankees pitcher to allow four homers to the Tigers since Chuck Cary in 1989 at Tiger Stadium. Detroit's James Outman hit a three-run homer in the sixth off Ryan Yarbrough after second baseman José Caballero committed a throwing error on a force play. New York has managed just 16 hits in its last five games. Join JAY BERMAN for the Yankees Postcast!!!

New York continued to struggle offensively, recording three hits or fewer for the fourth straight game. Tigers right-hander Casey Mize struck out 10 and limited the Yankees to just one hit in seven innings, and that came in the third inning when Spencer Jones doubled to right field. Mize was out of the game when Amed Rosario hit a pinch-hit three-run homer off left-hander Drew Sommers in the eighth inning. Join JAY BERMAN for the Yankees Postcast!!!
