Stephen brings together scholarship, decades of experience in the legal profession, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives and performance of lawyers. Sat, 19 Sep 2026 - 06min - 533 - ABCs of TRADES: The Electrician (Paula Bunyan Children's Books for the Skilled Trades)
Welcome to a world where learning and skilled trades go hand in hand. In ABCs OF TRADES: The Electrician, young readers journey alongside our main character, Paula Bunyan, and her curious sidekick, Timber the purple goat, to explore the ABCs of electricity. This engaging book is designed to introduce children to the empowering profession of an electrician, fostering a sense of independence and job resilience from a young age.
Why It Matters
Career ideas form early. Research shows that children begin developing ideas about jobs and their value in society as early as age three. Between the ages of two and six, children experience a critical imagination window where they freely dream about who they can become, entirely free from limits tied to education, income, or stereotypes. Exposing young minds to career-related books during this vital period broadens their possibilities. Stories normalize skilled trades, build respect for hands-on work, and expand what careers feel truly possible.
About the Book
ABCs OF TRADES: The Electrician uses playful, rhyming A-to-Z verses to introduce children to the STEM words of this essential trade. If kids can say "tyrannosaurus rex," they can certainly say words like "ampere" and "circuit"! Paula and Timber guide readers through words they may not hear in normal daily conversation. Familiarity of words leads to comfort and increasing understanding as they age.
Benefits
- Builds Early Confidence: Early exposure to trade-related vocabulary builds familiarity and curiosity, giving children the confidence to explore STEM and trade skills.
- Encourages Interactive Learning: The engaging rhymes and colorful characters keep young readers captivated, turning reading time into an exciting exploration of how things work.
- Sparks Meaningful Conversations: Parents and educators can easily use the story to discuss how electricians and electricity power our daily lives, laying the foundation for creative problem-solving abilities.
- Empowers Future Generations: Highlights the skilled trades as rewarding, secure, and highly valuable career paths.
Add ABCs OF TRADES: The Electrician to your home, school, or classroom library to inspire the next generation of skilled professionals. Start building trade talent, one story at a time.

Making It Plain: Deconstructing a Fictitious and Vicious Story About Racism interrogates the teaching methods to establish the dominant white supremacist pedagogy. Making It Plain demonstrates how Elliott Eisner's formula for cultural construction, Gordon Allport’s definition of prejudice, and Howard Thurman’s definition of capitulation to imagined sovereignty contributed to the sustainability of racism. Making It Plain educates learners and activists to question normative racist narratives, examine white supremacy’s faulty premises, and identify cultural and individual contributions to racism and white supremacy’s evolution and sustainability. Making It Plain empowers and encourages learners and activists to use their agency to deconstruct our white racist and supremacist thought (WRST pronounced worst) narratives.

Tue, 15 Sep 2026 - 04min - 525 - Not in This World
A landmark in the annals of the human bond.
An untold story of survival in a small town, 1930s Kentucky, between a young black man and a white child, joined at the hip. Their dependence on one another unfurls in this vivid narrative, sweeping through World War II, across the Atlantic and back. This novel, based on real life, is filled with descriptive vigor and dazzling dialogue, keeping readers awake at night, turning pages.
“Jane Stuart writes like a Southern angel, with a voice that sings and beguiles, much like her enigmatic and irresistible character, Paul. Intimate yet sweeping, Paul Carew's story weaves an age-old tale of a black man's domestic servitude with a disarmingly contemporary exploration of sexual gender identity, almost as if 'Transparent' met 'The Help'. The book haunts you and stays with you and breaks your heart. I’m a screenwriter and after reading it I couldn’t stop thinking: this beautiful book has to be made into a movie. My second thought was: I have to write the script.” — Becky Johnston — Screenwriter, The Prince of Tides, Seven Years in Tibet, The House of Gucci

Fri, 11 Sep 2026 - 04min - 514 - The Proxy Condition: How Systems Reshaped Attention, Identity, and What It Means to Be Present
The Proxy Condition is a landmark work that challenges the architecture of digital life itself. With clarity and force, it reveals how we have come to inhabit a world designed around proxies; stand-ins for attention, presence, emotion, and even identity. These proxies interact, multiply, accelerate, and begin to shape who we think we are, sometimes obscuring truth. We live in two places at once. One is physical. The other is constructed by the systems we interact with.
Drawing from philosophy, cognitive science, design theory, social psychology, epistemology, and system logic, this book names the invisible structures that govern our time and behavior. The book traces the evolution of presence as a system requirement, no longer defined by proximity or intention. What shapes reality now is influence, and what is influenced shapes reality.
The Proxy Condition gives readers language for what they’ve been feeling but couldn’t name, establishing a realistic framework for navigating it with integrity.
This is the foundational text for a new paradigm in human-digital relations. The Proxy Condition is both analysis and artifact, responsible and fearless in its approach.

Thu, 10 Sep 2026 - 05min - 511 - World Lines: From space-time to apocalypse
In this fictional world, most inhabitants follow a straight path in time from birth to death, but there are outliers who have periodic or other deviant “world lines”, passing through their space-time point multiple times. The title derives from the different paths of existence by a diverse set of characters. One of the outliers for example, is a Scottish fisherman who is trying to weave his way in the normal world, bringing some sense to the madness created by both human and natural events surrounding him (abduction of a female pilot, military response, earthquakes, and breaches in the time-space continuum). This quirky adventure follows characters with straight, curved and periodic world lines to the mountain known as “point B”, a religious site being prepared for the installation of a neutrino mine. The central character, the Professor, tries to discover how the ancients devised means of immortality and postulates that they were able to discover the secret of altering their world lines along the time/space axes so they simply escaped death by appearing at a different spatial position at the same time or in a different era at the same position. Several themes are explored in this tale where the rational is logically deduced to nonsense, faith coexists happily with science, and the fairy tale universe exemplifies the very diffuse border that separates reality from fantasy.

Thu, 10 Sep 2026 - 04min - 510 - Federal Debt Essentials: What Every Citizen Should Know
The United States is facing a growing crisis that few fully understand, but everyone will ultimately feel: the federal debt.
Drawing from a powerful series of essays originally published on Substack, this book breaks down one of the most complex and urgent issues confronting the nation today. With clarity and purpose, it explains how the federal debt has reached levels comparable to at the end of World War II—and why that should concern every American.
More importantly, it challenges a dangerous complacency. As Congress holds the constitutional "power Of the purse," the responsibility to balance taxation, borrowing, and spending rests squarely in its hands. Yet without public pressure, meaningful action remains unlikely.
This book equips readers with the essential knowledge needed to understand the stakes and take a stand. Because the consequences of inaction will not fall on abstract institutions, but on citizens, their families, and future generations.
Concise, accessible, and urgent, this is not just a book— it's a call to awareness and action.

Thu, 10 Sep 2026 - 04min - 509 - Congress’s Quagmire Essentials: What Every Citizen Should Know
Why does Congress struggle to solve the nation's most pressing problems?
Based on a compelling series of Substack essays written between May 2025 and February 2026, this book unpacks the structural and political forces behind what can only be described as Congress's quagmire. It reveals how entrenched electoral systems and two-party dominance have effectively shut out competition, leaving little room for fresh ideas and meaningful reform.
The result? Endless partisan battles for power while critical issues—such as the federal debt, the future of healthcare and retirement systems, immigration, and the balance of power between branches of government—remain unresolved.
But this is not just a diagnosis of the problem. It is a call to action.
Written in a clear, accessible style for readers of all ages, this book empowers citizens with the foundational knowledge they need to understand the system and demand change. Because the Constitution places ultimate authority in the hands of the people—and with that authority comes responsibility.
Concise, non-partisan, and thought-provoking, this book challenges readers to move beyond complacency and insist on real competition, real accountability, and real solutions in American government.

Revised December 2025.
The Master Chief’s extraordinary journey continues as he spins his yarns from the second four years of his naval service. First, while becoming a renowned teletype technician, Moye delighted himself in the freedoms that shore duty afforded—further discovering himself both as a person and a sailor. Then, when thrust into an incredibly demanding leadership role aboard one of the world’s most formidable warships, he guided man and machine through what also became his crew’s most difficult duty. Head-on, together they met the mission.
The meek sailor we found in Volume I transformed into a true sailor’s sailor as he led his crew through extraordinary hardships found only at sea. With the mission always first, Moye also stereotypically enjoyed wine, women, and song in ports far from the hills of his childhood. All forging him into the confident sailor, communicator, and leader he became.
Based on his daily journal entries, Moye vividly recounts life-changing events as they unfolded—telling a unique story that comes from lived experience. He captures his ongoing transformation, along with that of the sailors alongside him, in tales full of adventure, hardship, and sometimes incomprehensible moments.
Follow the Master Chief as he revisits some of his life’s most pivotal events, preparing him for future challenges—both professional and personal. Sail alongside through moments of euphoria and despair while navigating life’s tempests at sea. Truly, this is a story like never before told.

Tue, 08 Sep 2026 - 04min - 504 - Everybody Lies: The History, Science, and Practice of Deception Detection
Someone lied to you today.
It may have been a colleague, client, witness, or someone you love. You probably did not recognize it—and that is not a failure of instinct. It shows how difficult deception is to identify.
When researchers examined nearly 25,000 judgments, average lie-detection accuracy was only 54 percent. A coin flip gets 50. Familiar signs—shifting eyes, nervous hands, hesitation, excessive detail, or a story told too smoothly—are largely folklore, not reliable proof of deception.
Everybody Lies, Second Edition explains why traditional lie detection fails and what disciplined professionals can do instead.
Drawing on more than 100 sources—including peer-reviewed studies, major meta-analyses, and current scientific reviews—the book separates evidence from popular belief. Readers learn what the research supports, where it remains limited, and why professional confidence must never be mistaken for accuracy or certainty.
This is not simply about recognizing that something may be wrong. It is about determining where an account stops aligning, identifying the pattern, understanding the person behind it, and deciding what to do next.
Learn to Follow the Pattern
The Komorek Method provides a structured, five-phase framework for examining potential deception. It teaches readers how to:
Recognize and track patterns of potential deception
Read behavior without body-language myths
Identify changes in language, emotion, timelines, and behavior
Determine where an account conflicts with itself or known facts
Understand the person and what motivates them
Identify what they may be gaining, protecting, concealing, or avoiding
Examine how a deceptive account may have been constructed—and why
Use structured questioning to uncover testable information
Determine which records, witnesses, communications, and evidence should exist
Use evidence strategically to expose contradictions and obtain admissions
Separate observation from assumption, suspicion from proof, and confidence from certainty
Science, History, and Real Cases
Everybody Lies traces humanity’s search for truth from ancient Babylon through the polygraph, behavioral science, and modern military, law-enforcement, and intelligence interviewing.
Case studies reveal how deception survives inside experienced institutions. Aldrich Ames passed polygraphs while betraying American intelligence assets. Robert Hanssen operated inside the FBI for more than two decades. Ana Montes built a quiet double life while passing through systems intended to detect her.
Modern cases show how language, timelines, motive, strategic questioning, source quality, and independent evidence can expose what a polished story attempts to hide.
Not Tells. Not Tricks. A Disciplined Method.
No gesture, expression, or nervous reaction proves someone is lying. No single behavior can do that.
Instead, Everybody Lies teaches a more defensible process:
The pattern shows you where to look. The questions uncover the story. The evidence proves what happened.
Written by globally recognized special investigator and risk strategist Stephen John Komorek, the Second Edition combines more than twenty years across thousands of cases with an honest examination of where the science is strong, limited, and uncertain.
For investigators, attorneys, intelligence and security professionals, business leaders, students, and others making consequential decisions, Everybody Lies offers a new way to understand deception—and pursue the truth.
Everybody lies. Truth leaves a pattern.

Alchemy of Adversity
How Emotional Intelligence Transforms Trauma into Leadership Strength
At some point, every leader will face adversity.
It may arrive as personal loss, professional disruption, organizational crisis, burnout, or collective uncertainty. However it appears, adversity reshapes identity, alters decision-making, and tests the stability of those responsible for guiding others.
The question is not whether hardship will intersect with your leadership. The question is whether you will be prepared for what it exposes.
In Alchemy of Adversity, Sarah Staley explores how trauma and high stress affect the brain, fragment internal stability, and quietly influence how leaders show up under pressure. Drawing from neuroscience, emotional intelligence research, and lived leadership experience, she reveals why resilience is often misunderstood. True strength is not about pushing through. It is about integration—the disciplined process of turning toward disruption, regulating under stress, and rebuilding from clarity rather than reactivity.
This book offers practical frameworks to help leaders recognize hidden fragmentation, strengthen emotional regulation, rebuild trust after crisis, and lead teams through adversity without losing themselves in the process.
In a world marked by volatility, burnout, and collective strain, leadership can no longer rely on endurance alone. It requires self-awareness, steadiness, and the capacity to transform hardship into strategic strength.
If you lead people, this is not optional work. It is foundational.
Adversity is inevitable. Whether it weakens your leadership or refines it is not.

Lila's Dance is an historical fiction that weaves a narrative of adventure and romance with a soul's inner journey and the mystical nature of reality.

Eventually, he comes to a crisis of faith which propels him into a new world where a different reality awaits him.

Fri, 04 Sep 2026 - 04min - 494 - Turning Fertile: The hardest roads lead to the most extraordinary arrivals
Some stories are carried in silence for years — because they are too tender to say out loud.
Sonali carried hers like a locked diary. Then, one ordinary morning, her seven-year-old son lifted a violin to his chin, drew a single trembling note into the air — and something she had kept closed for years finally cracked open.
Turning Fertile is the story of the woman behind that note.
A girl whose ambition burned so brightly she stopped hearing her own body. A diagnosis that named years of quiet signs she'd ignored. And then the long, unmapped country of waiting — where time is no longer measured in days, but in heartbeats, held breaths, and prayers whispered in bathroom silence.
This is a book about hope that refuses to die. About the question every woman has asked in the quiet of a waiting room — why not me? — and the slow, hard-won discovery that the question itself is a form of love.
Written as an intimate conversation — Dear Reader, yes, you — it reaches straight to the woman sitting somewhere right now with her own version of that silence, and tells her the one thing she most needs to hear.
This book will not be gentle with the truth. But it will be gentle with you.

Wed, 02 Sep 2026 - 04min - 492 - The Father Wound in Women: Don’t read this book if you’re happy with your relationship patterns.
A father’s absence, volatility, or addiction leaves a measurable imprint on a daughter — in how she attaches, who she chooses, how she treats the people who love her, and even in her physical health. This book names that imprint honestly, traces it to the research, and gives both the woman carrying it and the partner standing beside her a way to see clearly and decide what to do.
Why This Book, Why Now
There is no shortage of books on “daddy issues.” Most do one of two things: they reassure women that none of it is their fault, or they vilify women as manipulators. Both are dishonest, and readers can feel it.
This book takes a third path. It treats the reader — woman or man — as an adult who can handle the truth: that a real wound can produce real harm, that being a victim of one’s childhood and a source of damage in one’s relationships are not mutually exclusive, and that healing begins exactly where blame ends and accountability starts.
It is direct and unflinching, but never cruel. It is grounded in evidence, and it says plainly when the evidence is thin.

What if you live in Denver metro, and in one day, you must find or make a bunker, filled with non-perishable food, water, and cold weather clothing to last for ten years, and manage to prevent volcanic ash particles getting into the air you breathe, when Yellowstone's caldera erupts with eruption lasting more than a year, and it starts erupting during an atmospheric river of snow and four day blizzard of up to twenty feet of snow, thrusting you into a volcanic winter of up to ten or more years, leaving behind an un-inhabitable, barren, and desolate Earth?
What would you do?
What if you thought you had two or more years of warning before the caldera of Yellowstone would erupt as a super volcano, and suddenly you are told you have one day at best to survive?
Dr. Theodore Grey decided that the scientists under him had their measurements wrong or there was a glitch in the system. Yes, Yellowstone was rumbling, but it did that every day, and the scientists at the USGS Yellowstone Volcano Observatory (YVO), led by Scientist-in-Charge Dr. Theodore Grey, utilized a sophisticated network of GPS sensors and seismometers to monitor the heartbeat of this active super volcano. All the movement in and around the caldera that is Yellowstone National Park is monitored and measured every day, 24/7, with computerized resources. Many scientists and technical people are necessary to monitor the computers, all the equipment, and cover Yellowstone's large expanse of crater and park land. Yellowstone has thousands of small quakes each year. The subtle Chicago-sized area of ground deformation near Gibbon Falls had buckled upward by one inch in January 2026, but these new numbers must be wrong! Even the newly discovered magma cap 3.8 km deep in January rose sharply overnight! Seven inches of rapid, sustained uplift? No way. That was too phenomenal for the caldera. Seven inches meant high-pressure fluid movement and is indicative of a significant magma intrusion. Real-time information stared back at him from the monitors. Real-time quakes were more pronounced in and around Yellowstone, and some areas close to Yellowstone certainly felt this shift and change. Dr. Rick Long confirmed what Dr. Grey saw in front of him. SEVEN inches in ONE day!! The ground was tilting and rising by inches, not centimeters! The Earth's crust was reaching its breaking point! The energy built up was too much, too fast. Dr. Grey knew he had to update the President right away. Time was critical. Everything was critical. So much for having a ten to twelve year plus warning! That powerful atmospheric river and a "monster blizzard" projected to drop up to twenty feet of snow over much of the US, including Yellowstone, would not stop the eruption!
Can Earth be saved? If so, who or what will save Earth?

Tue, 01 Sep 2026 - 05min - 488 - The Crisis of Ignorance: The Battle to Awaken the Indifferent Mind
Education is under siege.
Not from one political party, but from both.
Across America, classrooms have become battlegrounds where history is censored, teachers are silenced, books are banned, and controversy is treated as a greater threat than ignorance itself. Every lesson is scrutinized. Every discussion is suspect. Every teacher walks a tightrope between political outrage and professional survival.
This is the story of one public school history teacher who refused to surrender the classroom.
For more than two decades, I have stood before students and asked the questions many people no longer want answered: How do free societies become authoritarian? Why do ordinary citizens surrender liberty? What happens when education stops producing critical thinkers and begins producing obedient followers?
The answers are not comforting.
Social studies teachers are more than instructors of dates and dead civilizations. They are the first line of defense against tyranny. The classroom is one of the last places where ideas can be challenged, evidence examined, and power questioned. When that freedom disappears, democracy does not collapse overnight—it slowly suffocates beneath conformity, fear, and manufactured ignorance.
We have been told that avoiding controversy creates safer schools. It does not. It creates weaker citizens.
A nation that refuses to confront difficult truths eventually loses the ability to recognize them. Students who are never allowed to wrestle with competing ideas become adults who mistake slogans for knowledge and obedience for virtue.
The greatest threat facing America is not an invading army, an economic recession, or even political division. It is ignorance—a contagion more destructive than any virus because it infects the mind. It poisons public discourse, fuels extremism, distorts history, bankrupts civic responsibility, and allows freedom to be traded away one compromise at a time.
History has already shown us how this story ends.
The only question is whether we are willing to learn from it.
The Crisis of Ignorance is both a warning and a call to action. It exposes how authoritarian societies have always transformed education into an instrument of conformity and asks whether the same warning signs are emerging today. This book challenges readers to reject complacency, reclaim critical thinking, and recognize that the battle for liberty begins not in the halls of government, but in the classrooms where the next generation learns what freedom is worth.
Because when ignorance becomes normal, liberty becomes negotiable.
And societies rarely realize what they have lost until it is too late.

What would you do if you lived in a near-future United States of America in which the President has declared weekend minority culling "Passes" legal?
In which citizens must compete in reality TV programs for healthcare, the right to travel, higher education, or "freedom" to live in private segregated communities?
What would you do if you were falling for a beautiful biracial climatologist and artist who might be a member of a radical "terrorist" network? And whose twin sister works for the very same government oppressing them all?
And you knew someone, somewhere, probably has placed a bullseye on your head?
This is the future in which Noah Harpster, humble incongruent anachronism, pickpocket, and three-time loser, finds himself cast.
Like you, he's got some tough decisions to make with too few options.
To the government, and everyone else, he's just one more grain of sand in society's colossal hourglass.

She meant to humiliate him as part of his refusal to accept her offer of a magical kingdom. A Life of Impact: A Biography of Samuel L. Kountz, MD is a powerful and deeply human portrait of one of the most influential pioneers in transplant surgery. Spanning from the segregated cotton fields of rural Arkansas to the forefront of global medical innovation, this biography captures not only a scientific journey, but a story of resilience, courage, and transformation.
Born into a world shaped by racial inequality and limited opportunity, Samuel L. Kountz refused to be defined by circumstance. Through determination, intellect, and an unwavering commitment to healing, he rose to become a groundbreaking surgeon whose work helped reshape the future of kidney transplantation.
This book traces his early life in the American South, his education under systemic barriers, and the mentors and communities that shaped his path. It explores his entry into medicine during a period of scientific uncertainty, when transplant surgery was still experimental, risky, and often controversial. Against this backdrop, Kountz emerged as a leader who pushed the boundaries of what medicine could achieve.
More than a clinical biography, this work also examines the human dimensions of his journey. It delves into the emotional and ethical challenges of early transplantation, the realities of discrimination in medical institutions, and the burden of responsibility carried by those who pioneer life-saving procedures. It highlights his advocacy for equity in healthcare, his dedication to underserved communities, and his lasting influence on medical education and transplant ethics.
Through detailed narrative and historical depth, A Life of Impact presents a vivid account of a man whose legacy continues to shape modern medicine. It is a story of ambition forged through adversity, of science driven by compassion, and of a life devoted to expanding the limits of what is possible.
This book will appeal to readers interested in medical history, biographies of influential figures, healthcare ethics, and stories of perseverance against systemic barriers.

All of us must navigate two oceans throughout our lives. The first is the ocean inside of us — which includes our mental health, emotional regulation, and the times and stages of our life. The second is the ocean outside of us — money, work, business, insurances, taxes, and our obligations, roles, and relationships when we are among human society.
In The Two Oceans, the author draws on his lived experience to recount tales of empathy, kindness, suffering, resourcefulness, contentment, and happiness, reflecting on them through the lens of philosophical principles. These tenets are intended to guide us toward integrating the two halves of ourselves — the conscious Self and the unconscious Shadow.
This collection of twenty-five short stories explores philosophies such as Zen, Stoicism, and Jungian psychology, and proffers practical applications of their central concepts such as detachment, impermanence, resilience, virtue, response, individuation, and introspection. These simple lessons can be useful tools in both vast, equally turbulent oceans, helping us cross unfathomable depths as we sail through life’s treacherous waters, and guiding us safely back to shore.

Tue, 25 Aug 2026 - 05min - 471 - Ceylon Moon
Ceylon Moon is divided into five thematically unified sections — Moods and Musings, What the Night Brings, With[in] Sanity, The Voices, and All That Is Worn and Torn. Childhod is one of the major themes and is introduced in the first section (Moods and Musings) with poems such as I Am Becoming (that describes a brief moment when a toddler's joy erased the poet's bleak mood), and Trois Gymnopédies (based on the first theme of Eric Satie's three-part piano composition). Satie's fragile, gentle theme inspired Gedaliah to study the composer's tragic life. Having lost his mother at age 6, and his grandmother at age 12, Gedaliah creates in words what Satie expressed in melody.
What the Night Brings are a series of poems delving into the nature and vagaries of our dreams. The many unsettled aspects of dreaming is extended into the next section "With Insanity" (or "Within Sanity") explores" the near thin edge" that separates our uncomfortable ideas about what actually constitutes sanity, insanity, and what lies in between.
The Voices are six Rilkean poems in which Gedaliah assumes the personas of non-sentient nature (eg. clouds, mountains, trees, etc.) to explore what it is that resonates within us that draws us to them. The collection closes with All That is Worn and Torn (from the last poem in Rilke's The Sonnets to Orpheus) explores the inevitable decline and closing of our own life and what solace and wisdom we might take away at the end.
The series of poems rises above the fear and despair it describes to reach for a higher position or acceptance, gratitude and love for the journey we've taken. Even for those who believe (like the author himself) that there is nothing more than what we hold no longer. The poetry of Ceylon Moon is consistent with his previous books in that they confront the darkness and chaos but do not wallow in despair, but shines a light upon all that makes life worthwhile that is found in the closing poems Because My Time is Limited and What is Life?

The Cuba We Lost: 1959-1962
Voices from Cuba's Golden Exile
Can you imagine what it must have been like to watch your country disappear?
Between 1959 and 1962 hundreds of thousands of Cuban families were forced to make heart wrenching decisions that would forever alter their lives and the lives of their families. Families were separated. Homes, businesses ,schools and religious institutions were transformed overnight. Childhoods were interrupted and ended too soon. Uncertainty, fear and hope became part of everyday life.
The Cuba We Lost preserves those memories before they are lost to the world forever. Through many testimonies, men and women who lived these events as children and young adults recount what they saw and how they felt and more than that, how they survived one of the most dramatic periods in Cuban history. As they tell their stories, they weave in the memories and experiences of their parents and grandparents creating an intimate portrait of a country im transition and families force dto flee to exile.
The stories told are not political statements nor are they historical arguments. They are deeply personal memories of schools, friendships, parks and dolls being yanked from their hands. Some left via Operation Pedro Pan and others escaped via different personal routes. All carried with them memories of a homeland they would never see in the same way again.
Interwoven throughout the book are historical notes that place each testimony within the unfolding events of the Cuban revolution, so as to give the reader a context to the date of departure.
Whether you are Cuban, a descendant of Cuban exiles, a student of history , or a person that values memories of human interest, The Cuba We Lost offers you a window into a world that vanished.

Wed, 19 Aug 2026 - 04min - 465 - The Invisible Soul Anthology: Healing With Words
For years, my stories lived in the digital ether, cataloged post by post. They began as solitary reflections—fleeting thoughts, raw memories, and deeply personal vignettes typed out in the quiet hours of the night. To the casual observer scrolling through a screen, these entries might have looked like scattered fragments. But to me, they were the road map of a much larger, internal expedition, and they became clues to my healing.
The Invisible Soul Anthology is the culmination of those digital footsteps brought into the physical reality of healing. Words are the reality that brings healing to every soul.
The phrase “The Invisible Soul” represents the parts of the human experience we so often hide from the world. It is the quiet resilience that keeps us moving forward when we are drowning in silent doubt, fear, or grief. For a long time, I wore a mask, hiding the unseen forces and internal whispers that dictated my choices and actions. Writing became my only tool for survival and self-exploration.
By pulling these stories from the archives of my library and organizing them into this anthology, I invite you to see what was once hidden in the shadows. Each story is a way-point on a long road toward emotional healing, raw truth, and ultimate redemption.
This anthology does not follow a straight, clinical timeline. Instead, it mirrors the natural ebb and flow of life itself. You will find:
The Whispers: Early reflections dealing with internal conflicts, unvoiced fears, and the heavy weight of expectations.
The Crossroads: Turning points where choices had to be made, masks had to be dropped, and truth had to be faced.
The Light: Stories of survival, spiritual grounding, and the quiet triumph of the human spirit over adversity.
You may choose to read this book from cover to cover, or you may open it to a random page whenever your own soul feels a bit too invisible to the rest of the world.
What started as personal therapy was never just about me. It was about finding a universal language for the invisible battles we all fight. By sharing my journey, my deepest hope is that you find pieces of your own story hidden within these pages.
Thank you for stepping off the digital screen and walking alongside me on this path. Welcome to The Invisible Soul Anthology. Healing With Words.

Thu, 13 Aug 2026 - 05min - 446 - Irreconcilable: A Novel of Memory, Intelligence, and the Decision That Broke the World
Humanity has built Prometheus, the most powerful artificial intelligence ever created, a system poised to govern decisions across health, security, and justice.
Before it is deployed, six experts are convened in Geneva to decide its fate. They are not chosen because they agree. They are chosen because they cannot.
A security analyst who survived a chemical attack sees danger in every variable. A venture capitalist who watched her father gamble everything sees opportunity in every crisis. A systems engineer trusts only what he can measure. A mediator builds bridges between irreconcilable positions. A rabbi believes some lines must never be crossed. An ecologist sees the web that connects all things. Each was shaped by a different memory. Each is brilliant. Each is right. And together they are asked to make the most consequential decision in human history.
Irreconcilable is a novel about artificial intelligence whose true subject is the human mind. Drawing on contemporary neuroscience, it argues that we do not disagree because we have different information, but because we have different memories, and our memories have built different minds. As the deliberations fracture and a rival nation races to deploy its own system, the six discover that consensus may be neurologically impossible, and that the gaps in their vision are precisely the shape of their gifts.
A literary novel for readers of Kazuo Ishiguro's Klara and the Sun and Ian McEwan's Machines Like Me, Irreconcilable asks the question beneath every debate of our age: as we build minds that will govern us, whose memories are shaping them?

Thu, 13 Aug 2026 - 06min - 445 - Pivoting From Blue: One Year of Death, Divorce & Discovery
When life throws everything at you at once, you learn to turn into the wave.
You know what it feels like when the storms pile up. The marriage crumbling, the parent dying, the career unraveling, the identity you built for decades dissolving into something unrecognizable. You tell yourself you can handle it. You tell yourself it will pass. But then the next wave hits before you recover from the last, and suddenly you are treading water in the dark with 3,000 feet of nothing beneath you.
Pivoting From Blue is the raw, gut-wrenching, and often hysterical story of Skip Van Gardner, a man who endured a year in which life seemed determined to break him completely. Facing the simultaneous collision of personal upheaval, a dying parent, an Alzheimer's parent, a crisis of faith, and the terrifying phenomenon known as Psychological Death, Van Gardner found himself in a place so empty he no longer knew who he was or what he was in this world. Written with the unvarnished honesty of a man who has nothing left to lose and everything to find, this story moves between the harrowing and the absurd with startling agility. From a life-threatening Atlantic crossing to hospice hallways, courtrooms of the mind, and the strange grace of painting with a keyboard, this is a story about what happens when you stop trying to outrun the storm and choose to face it head-on.
Inside these pages, you will discover:
- How turning toward pain, not away from it, becomes the unlikely path to healing
- Why humor, faith, and music can hold you together when everything else falls apart
- That surviving the unimaginable is not about being strong; it is about being willing to keep going
For anyone who has ever wondered if they could make it through the worst chapter of their life, this book is your answer.

Thu, 13 Aug 2026 - 03min - 443 - The Principle of the Five Chairs
The People Around You Are Quietly Writing Your Future
Every day, without noticing it, you are being influenced.
Not by dramatic events.
Not by life-changing speeches.
But by ordinary conversations...
Everyday opinions...
Shared expectations...
The people you spend the most time with.
Over time, those influences quietly become your beliefs.
Your beliefs become your decisions.
Your decisions become your future.
The Principle of the Five Chairs introduces a simple yet powerful way of understanding this invisible process.
Imagine five chairs surrounding you.
Each chair is occupied by someone whose influence shapes your thinking. One fuels your ambition. Another strengthens your character. One challenges your excuses. Another expands your wisdom. One inspires action through energy and momentum.
But not every chair is occupied wisely.
Sometimes the people closest to us unknowingly limit our expectations, normalise mediocrity, or quietly persuade us that "good enough" is enough.
This book explores the fascinating psychology behind why human beings adopt the attitudes, habits and standards of those around them—and, more importantly, how we can consciously choose better influences.
Drawing upon Psychology, Human Behaviour, Critical Thinking and practical Self Development, The Principle of the Five Chairs provides a framework that readers can immediately apply to their careers, relationships, ambitions and everyday decisions.
This is not simply a book about success.
It is a book about influence.
Because every conversation changes something.
Every relationship leaves a mark.
Every person occupies a chair.
The question is not whether you are being influenced.
The question is: Who is sitting in your five chairs?
Why do some people seem to move through life with purpose while others, equally talented, remain where they started? The answer is often far simpler than we imagine.
It lies in the conversations we hear, the standards we accept, the expectations we inherit and, above all, the people we allow to influence our thinking.
Every one of us is quietly shaped by those around us. Their ambitions become our ambitions. Their doubts become our doubts. Their habits slowly become our habits. This process is so subtle that we rarely notice it happening, yet modern psychology repeatedly demonstrates that our environment plays a powerful role in determining our beliefs, decisions and ultimately our future.
The Principle of the Five Chairs introduces a practical framework for recognising these invisible influences.
Rather than asking, "How do I become more successful?", this book asks a far more important question:
"Who is influencing the person I am becoming?"
Inside these pages you will discover why conversations become beliefs, why emotions spread through groups, why we unconsciously imitate the behaviour of those around us, why some friendships accelerate our growth while others quietly hold us back, and how one new mentor or relationship can redirect the course of an entire life.
Filled with practical examples, memorable stories and thought-provoking illustrations, this is more than a book to read—it is a framework to revisit throughout life.
Whether you are building a career, leading a business, raising a family, developing stronger relationships or simply trying to become the best version of yourself, the principles remain the same.
The people around you matter.
Perhaps more than you have ever realised.
Because every conversation changes something.
Every relationship leaves a mark.
Every influence occupies a chair.
The only question is... who is sitting in yours?
