    Hello, my beautiful one. đŸ€

Kurt Cobain once said: I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not

Think about how much of our lives are spent hiding our true selves in order to be more palatable for others.

We deny who we are and blend in with the crowd to make others feel more comfortable.

We squeeze our beautiful & delicious selves into a tiny little societal box.

The facade does not stop there

Some of us may look at another person's body and wish it were ours.

    Someone else's home.

    Someone else's relationships.

    Someone else's career.

    Someone else's beauty.

    Someone else's life.

And social media has made this so VERY easy.

We can spend hours looking at carefully curated pieces of other people's lives and then immediately decide that ours isn't good enough.

Your charming little antique pink bathroom suddenly needs to be renovated to make it more Instagramable.

You suddenly ‘need’ more anti-aging cream because a celebrity has partnered with one of the latest snake oil brands

    You get the picture right?

There is something heartbreaking about that.

Because while you're wishing you were someone else or living their reality

Someone else might be looking at you and wishing they had what you have.

And meanwhile, the one life that only you can live is passing by.

You don't need to become more like somebody else.

    You don't need their face.

    Their body.

    Their success.

    Their timeline.

    Their story.

    Their snake oil.

You have a life that has never existed before and will never exist again.

Your job is simply to become more completely unapologetically yourself.

The version of you who laughs differently.

    Dreams differently.

    Loves differently.

    Feels deeply.

    Makes mistakes.

    Changes their mind.

    Starts again.

    All of it belongs.

There has never been another you.

    There never will be.

Don't spend this one precious life trying to become somebody else.

And I want to ask you something:

What is one thing about yourself that you are learning to appreciate instead of wishing you could change?

    Share it below.

Perhaps your answer will help someone else see something beautiful in themselves tonight.

I love you, and I am proud of you.

    Sweet dreams, beautiful. đŸ€

  • 58 - A Quiet Place for an Overworked Mind (Sleep Hypnosis)

    Hello, my beautiful one. đŸ€

This past week I’ve been diving into the spiritual lessons from the guides who came before us, and I couldn’t let a day pass without talking about a phenomenal woman who changed my life the moment I picked up one of her books at the library when I was 12 years old.

    Louise Hay.

“Love yourself and you can heal your life.”

Think about that for a moment.

Louise taught that learning to love ourselves is one of the most powerful foundations for creating a different life.

And I think there is a reason this can feel so difficult.

Think about being a little child

    You hear:

    No.
    Stop that.
    Don't do that.
    Be quiet.
    Don't touch that.
    You're being naughty.
    Sit still.
    Try harder.
    Be better.

Most of these things are simply part of growing up. We need boundaries. We need guidance.

But somewhere along the way, many of us begin turning those outside voices into an inside voice.

And eventually, nobody has to tell us we're not good enough.

We tell ourselves inwardly over and over again.

    We criticize our bodies.
    We criticize our choices.
    We replay our mistakes.
We scare ourselves with everything that could go wrong.
We compare ourselves to everyone around us.

Would you even want most of the things you want if you didn’t have an Instagram account?

The average individual is exposed to 1.4 million to 3.6 million advertisements per year.

And then we wonder why we don't feel at peace inside our own minds.

Louise offered guidance in such a simple yet beautiful way:

What if you stopped being the person who hurts you?

What if you became your own safe place?

Tonight, try this special technique called mirror work.

Louise encouraged so many people to practice this.

Look into your own eyes in the mirror.

    Take a breath.

And simply say, “I love you’.

Now believe me this can feel super weird at first. Looking at yourself in a mirror and saying those words. If you aren’t ready yet you can also say:

“I am willing to learn to love you.”

You don't even have to believe it yet.

If “I love you” feels too difficult, start there.

And eventually you will be able to look at yourself in the mirror everyday and say,

‘I love you, I really love you - just as you are’.

    Be gentle with yourself.

Stop frightening yourself with every possible future or outcome.

Stop making yourself pay forever for something you did yesterday.

Notice the way you speak to yourself.

Praise yourself for the little things.

And when you make a mistake, speak to yourself the way you would speak to a frightened little child who needed your love—not your punishment.

Are you ready to finally become kind to the person who has been with you your entire life?

If you could go back and speak to the little child you once were, what would you tell them? What does that little you need from the adult you?

    Leave it below.

Someone reading your words may need to hear them too.

  • 57 - Tonight, You Don’t Have to Carry Anything Anymore (Sleep Hypnosis)

    Hello, my beautiful one. đŸ€

There is a beautiful teaching from Wayne Dyer that changed my life entirely many years ago:

“Don’t die with your music still in you.”

His words kinda shook me from the inside out.

I had to question whether I was living a real, raw and authentic life that served humanity.

Now, when you read those words a different light bulb might switch on inside of you.

Maybe there is something inside you that wants to be expressed.

A book you want to write.
A place you want to see.
A garden you want to grow.
A song you want to sing.
A business you keep dreaming about.
    A way of being.
A life that doesn't look like the one everyone expected you to live.

    And maybe you've been waiting

    And waiting

    Waiting until you're thinner.
    Until you're richer.
    Until you're more confident.
    Until the children are older.
    Until you're less afraid.
    Until life becomes easier.

But the time is now. Your life is now.

Your “music” doesn't have to be perfect.

Remember the CCIA? Consistent. Committed. Imperfect. Action.

It doesn't even have to make sense to anyone else.

You don't owe the world a masterpiece.

You simply owe yourself the courage to let some of what is inside you come alive.

So tonight, today or whenever you have a moment, my friend, I want you to ask yourself:

What is the music inside me that I have been afraid to play?

And perhaps tomorrow, take one tiny step toward it.

    Pick up the instrument.
    Start the painting.
    Plant the seed.
    Make the video.
    Book the ticket.
    Write the first sentence.

You don't have to change your entire life right now
 baby steps.

Just stop postponing the parts of you that are waiting to live.

If you feel comfortable sharing, tell me below:

What is something you've always wanted to do, create or experience?

Perhaps someone reading your answer will be reminded of their own forgotten dream.

  • 56 - Sleep Hypnosis for the Part of You That Needs a Break

    Hello, my beautiful one. đŸ€

Tonight, I want to leave you with a thought inspired by the work of Dr. Gabor Maté, whose teachings have helped so many people look at suffering through the lens of compassion rather than shame.

One of the most life-changing questions is, “What happened to me?”

And we can dig deeper with the next question, “What did I learn I had to become in order to survive?”

Maybe you became the people-pleaser. (My job is to keep mom and dad happy)

Maybe you learned to stay quiet. (Children should be seen and not heard)

Maybe you became incredibly independent because you couldn't rely on anyone. (I am alone)

Maybe you learned to stay busy so you wouldn't have to feel. (Just walk it off and get on with it)

Maybe you became the strong one because nobody was coming to rescue you. (I am not worthy)

These things formed by the environment you have been in, may have protected you once, and you don't have to hate the parts of yourself that helped you survive. In a specific branch of hypnotherapy called Parts Therapy, we often send love and appreciation to those parts and let them leave lovingly.

Your pain is not your identity.

What happened to you is part of your story.

It is not the whole of who you are.

There is a part of you underneath the coping, underneath the fear, underneath the old stories and limiting beliefs that was never broken.

So right now my friend, instead of trying to ‘fix yourself’....

Place your hand over your heart and simply say:

“I understand why you became this way.”

    Not with shame- with love.

I choose no more fear. I choose no more shame.

I choose to live in love, I am joy, I am ease.

Healing doesn't mean becoming someone different, it’s when we finally stop abandoning the person we already are. đŸ€

If you could speak to the version of yourself who was simply trying to survive, what would you want them to know?

Leave it below, if you feel comfortable in this little healing capsule. Someone reading your words may need exactly the compassion you have learned to give yourself.

  • 55 - Can’t Sleep? This Recording Will Knock You Out (Sleep Hypnosis)

    Hello, my beautiful one. đŸ€

I want to introduce you to someone tonight who may be completely new to you.

Anandamayi Ma was one of India’s most revered spiritual teachers of the 20th century. She lived from 1896 to 1982, and people travelled great distances simply to sit in her presence.

    Her teachings were so simple:

Surrender, devotion, love, and the recognition that the Divine is present in everyone.

One of Ma’s most simple teachings is this:

When you serve another person, you are serving the same Self that lives within you.

    Imagine living from that place.

    The stranger you pass.

    The difficult person.

The person who doesn't agree with you.

The person who is struggling silently.

The person who needs a little kindness today.

What if none of them are really separate from you?

We spend so much of our lives in this great internal dialogue from the societal boxes we have been imprisoned in.

What do they think of me?

    Am I enough?

What do I need to become?”

    And Ma simply asks:

Can you love without needing any external validation?

Can you make someone’s day a little easier simply because you can?

Can you look at another human being and remember that, beneath all the different stories, labels, fears, beliefs and identities, there is something shared between you?

Remembering that you belong to something much bigger.

Think of one person who has crossed your path recently.

    Send them a little love.

You don't have to tell them.

You don't have to contact them.

Just inwardly wish them peace, joy and love.

Feel that love spread from your heart to theirs.

What if we each became a little more gentle with one another and ourselves?

I wonder how much the world could change.
