From the opening attack of Verunhive that exposed kind of all the failings of the leadership there. Through the constant meddling and politicking of the numerous lords and local commissars. Then jump over to Erebus’ terrible plan of converting Sanguinius (why would that have ever worked). And then of course over to Lorgar trying to use Fulgrim to usurp Horus. We then get into the Word Bearers post Heresy quite a bit as their actions there are both fun and telling of their real role in modern 40k. We then travel to Calth as the Word Bearers both succeed and fail at the mission given them (Kor Phaeron off the top rope for the failure!). On today’s cast we continue our coverage of the Word Bearers with Lorgar taking over his legion and promptly decided to tell the galaxy how awesome his dad is. And then we cover the Emperor’s response to such worship (spoiler alter it was not positive). Luckily the story gets awesome then as Lorgar goes on his journey to the eye of terror to Cadia, and to learn the truth of the galaxy. From there we jump over to Colchis for some fun Lorgar and Covenant action as Lorgar unites a planet into the belief in the gods. And then of course those two groups meet. On today’s cast we take a trip into the Legion of the Damned. A super fun and exciting space marine faction that got their own codex in 6th edition, and then promptly were removed from the game due to being horribly OP. We go over what they are, how they function in the galaxy and what is kind of known about them. On today’s cast we jump into the massive nightmares that are Space Hulks in the 41st Millenia. What they are, where they kind of come from (technically we don’t know). We also talk about how the different parts of the imperium interact with them (from lowly scrappers trying to make a fortune, through 1st company Space Marines). On today’s cast we conclude our coverage of the Raven Guard. Opening up with the events of Isstvan 5 and the almost destruction of the Legion. From there we follow Corax as he goes back to terra to get the original gene seed of his legion (unknowingly brining a bunch of Alpha Legion along). And then the events over the course of the rest of the Horus Heresy. Next we talk about Corax in the warp and the nightmare he has turned into for the traitors. On today’s cast we continue our coverage of the Raven Guard. With Corax arriving at his legion and having a solid WTF moment at how they behave. Then his fixing of the legion and their divorce from the Night Lords. From there we jump into their actions in the later part of the Great Crusade. And how those moments taught Corax a lot more about the galaxy and the imperium. We also jump into the special units and tech of the Raven Guard and how they use them to great success. On today’s cast we open up our coverage of the Raven Guard. Opening with the formation of the 19th legion and their actions during the Unification Wars. We then focus a bit on how the emperor used them to handle enemies that were utilizing warp powers he did not want exposed to other legions. From there we jump over to their actions with the Luna Wolves during the early days of the Great Crusade. And then we get over to the story of Corax, his arrival on Lysithea, and how he liberated it. On Today’s cast we conclude our coverage of the night lords. We open with maybe the most consequential event of the entire Horus Heresy, Sotha. And then jump back to the adventures of Konrad as he plays hide and seek with the Lion, and then the Lion and Guilliman. Only to later both breakup the Triumvirate as well as save the imperium (by accident?). We then follow him to his final death (or was it really a suicide), and the subsequent breaking up of the legion. On today’s cast we continue our coverage of the night lords with a focus on Konrad and the night lords through the end of the great crusade and into the start of the heresy. Where Konrad proves a complete inability to make friends with any of the other Primarchs, and then proceeds to make everything way worse. Followed by him deciding the only solution to him never fixing Nostramo is to remove it from existence, and of course their weird joining of the forces at Isstvan 5 (the part where the loyalists accepted there help, just why?). On Today’s cast we begin our coverage of the Night Lords with of course their formation under the emperor (it is awful). We then talk a bit about how the emperor used them as the 8th legion (also awful). But then we jump in Konrad Kurze (not Konrad Cruze) and his arrival on Nostramo and rise to power (?) there. Then we talk about the legion forming under Konrad and how they adjusted to his new leadership and evolved as a legion into being even more terror based. On Today’s cast we conclude our coverage of the Siege of Vraks, with the handing over of the conflict to the Ordo Malleus and the arrival of the Grey Knights. Then we follow Inquisitor Rex on his attempts to cleanse the surface of Vraks outside of the citadel of all Chaos forces. From there we move onto the final siege of Vraks with the challenges therein from the citadel. The rise of Zhufor and his unifying of the defenders (sort of) to killing the imperial invaders. But we close out on the many layers of the “final” assault on Vraks. They use the word final but it lasts like 3 chapters, just saying. On Today’s cast we continue our coverage of the Siege of Vraks, with the arrival of the chaos fleets to the system and the not so great (for the imperium) naval battle that commences. Which is then followed by a not so great experience for the ground forces once a bunch of chaos marines show up. But then we get to the imperium’s response so things get a little better, and we close with an epic kickassery of Space Marine action! On Today’s cast we begin our coverage of the Siege of Vraks, on of the epic wars of 40k History. Starting with the origins and oddly high importance of the planet. Then the rise of Cardinal Xaphan that leads to the revolt of Vraks. Then we get to the fun part the invasion of Vraks by the 88th siege company (the Death Korps of Krieg). We then cover the incredible woodchipper of death that took place as they spent the first two years just trying to take the first layer of defense. Only to then discover that chaos had infiltrated the planet, namely Alpha legion, which leads to the beginning of the expansion of the conflict, with the arrival of the Dark Angels. We then close out with the 9th year of the war, where the 88th finally takes the 2nd line, moving closer to their final objective, just as the chaos sorcerers begin their move. On today’s cast we jump back into the Death Korps of Krieg. We start where we should with the revolution on Kreig, how it started, how Jurten turned the tide to make it a more “even” battle” and how he and his loyalists eventually won out. We then move out on to cover the Kreig themselves. From the lowly Guardsman, to the Grenadier, the Quartermaster, Commissar, and (heavy sigh) the mounted units. On today’s cast we jump into the Minotaurs chapter of the Space Marines. Starting with the earliest mentions of any space marines called the Minotaurs in the lore. But then we get into the more firm accounts starting in the 41st millennia. With them being super cool during the Macharian Heresy, Badab Wars, saving the Crimson Fists, and more. We spend a lot of out time talking about how the Minotaurs fight and behave, with an especial focus on what makes them different from other space marine chapters. We also spend a good amount on their super crazy bad ass (but also crazy violent) chapter master Asterion Moloc, and what or who we think he might be. On today’s cast I tricked Brad into talking about the Lords of Terra by telling him we were going to talk about the Minotaurs. We start with their origins as the magisters temporal, and how that set up some of the “challenges” the imperium would have with them for the next 10,000+ years. Then we move onto the Council of Terra, which also kind of sucked, but was at least functional. Unfortunately we then get to the grand council of reconstruction which was the last time it functioned in a way that benefited the imperium at large, cause that is when the Imperial Senate was created. From there we just dive into the nightmare of bad choices that happened. Until at the end we set up the perceived need by the lords of terra for the Minotaurs. We open with Titus and crew needed to turn their situation around quickly as they are on the verge of losing the planet. While at the same time Ammentar needs to get his Nightbringer shard and will not be denied it. Luckily they both kind of win? On today’s cast we continue our coverage into the 500 worlds campaign. We open with the retconning of the destroyer curse withing the Necrons. What it is, and how it is evolving in the lore to add a lot of depth to the Necrons. We then talk about Ammentar himself and how he is flipping some of the script on the destroyer curse. After that we jump into the conflict within the Heliodras system. Starting with Titus taking on the hive fleet attacking Idarus. And then following with having to rush to Novamagnor to deal with the explosion of the Necron threat there. With Titus unknowingly seizing a shard of the nightbringer and handing it over to the wrong person in the ad-mech (as usual), and finally with Titus coming face to face with Ammentar himself. On today’s cast we jump into the 500 worlds campaign. We open with a breakdown of the state of the galaxy in “modern” 40k. From there we jump into the background of the Imperium and the Necrons. From there we go into Dawn of War 3 and the wild events of that game, namely them once again fighting a greater daemon, along with orks, chaos, eldar, etc. We then talk about the latest lore on the Blood Ravens in modern 40k, with them joining Guilliman in his crusade. We then close out with some of our theories on the origins of the Blood Ravens, that we hope will get revealed by GW in the coming editions. On today’s cast we continue our coverage of the Alpha legion. We open with our own theories of what happened to them during the Horus Heresy, did they take different sides, did they go their own path, or maybe they were just weird and ineffective. We then talk about their crazy infiltration during the great crusade and how that set them up for some of their more wild events during the Heresy. Namely the infiltration of the Raven Guard after Isstvan 5, which is absolutely crazy. Then their very odd interaction with the White Scars out in Chondax. And their more direct interaction with the Space wolves in Alaxxes. We then close with Alpharius infiltration the shattered legions.
