Fri, 18 Sep 2026 - 592 - Session 481: What Worth Actually Means with Dr. Marisa Franco
Dr. Marisa Franco is back, and this time she's turning her attention from friendship to something underneath it: self-worth. Her new book, Worth: The New Science of Self-Esteem and Secure Attachment, starts with a confession. While her relationship was falling apart, she was performing security, saying all the right things, staying calm, doing everything the books tell you to do, while quietly abandoning what she actually felt. She and Dr. Joy talk through why that kind of self-abandonment is so familiar to Black women in particular, and what it costs us.
The conversation moves through what Dr. Franco calls the difference between the good twin and the bad twin of high self-esteem, both of whom say they feel good about themselves, but only one of whom can sit with a hard feeling instead of pushing it away. She explains why insecurity isn't a flaw so much as a coping strategy our brains developed to protect us from repeat harm, and introduces memory reconsolidation, the idea that revisiting an old memory with care can actually change its emotional charge and help you feel safer moving forward.
They also dig into stigma, identity stretching, and what happens when we spend our lives chronically evaluating ourselves against an ideal we didn't choose. Dr. Franco talks about raising kids with real self-worth instead of just confidence, why chasing achievement often keeps us from feeling anything at all, and what it means to aim for secure-ish instead of secure.

What happens when you combine psychedelics with the therapeutic process? Psychedelic-assisted therapy is gaining attention as more people look beyond more familiar approaches to mental health, but there’s still a lot we’re learning about how it works and what it actually feels like to experience. In this conversation with Dr. Sierra Carter, an Associate Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Family Research at the University of Georgia, we’re unpacking the science behind psychedelics in therapy, the ways it may affect the brain and body, and what to consider before deciding whether this approach is right for you.

Fri, 04 Sep 2026 - 588 - Session 479: The Work of Being A Girl Dad with Kier Gaines
Most of Kier Gaines’ therapy clients are women, many of whom are working through difficult relationships with their fathers. This week, Kier and Dr. Joy discuss what a father wound can look like, how it affects daughters in adulthood, and why receiving an apology may not resolve years of hurt.
He also shares what he had to learn while raising daughters, from ordering underwear online to recognizing the parts of girlhood he could not anticipate. He and Dr. Joy discuss where attachment research falls short for Black families, how people respond to him as a big, dark-skinned Black man doing tender work in public, and why he is careful when people describe his content as “healing.” Kier’s new book, It All Starts When You Do, is out now. He shares why waiting can become a habit and what it takes to begin before you feel ready.

Fri, 21 Aug 2026 - 584 - Session 477: Surviving Middle School: The Chaos of Adolescence, Explained
Middle school changes kids in ways that can feel unrecognizable. Dr. Russell Ledet, child and adolescent psychiatrist and father of two Black girls, joins Dr. Joy to explain why. They walk through the psychological stages driving adolescence, industry versus inferiority giving way to identity versus role confusion. They talk through what's actually happening in the brain as the amygdala and prefrontal cortex develop on different timelines, a combination Dr. Ledet argues isn't cruel so much as an opening for parents to grow alongside their kids.
Dr. Ledet talks through how friendships form in middle school and what anxiety can look like when it doesn't announce itself. He offers real-time guidance for common flashpoints, a first physical or verbal fight and a first heartbreak, along with how to tell the difference between normal adolescent worry and something that needs more support. He closes on the one thing he thinks most parents get wrong about middle schoolers. They assume kids aren't thinking things through, when really they are thinking about everything at once and mostly need to be heard.

Fri, 31 Jul 2026 - 578 - Session 474: What Weathering Does to Black Women's Bodies
Dr. Joy sits down with neuropsychologist Dr. Tanisha Hill-Jarrett, assistant professor at UCSF's Memory and Aging Center, to talk through what brain health means, why it's broader than mental health alone, and the daily habits that support it: cardiovascular exercise, a heart-healthy diet, stress management, social connection, and quality sleep.
They dig into what our phones are doing to us. Dr. Hill-Jarrett breaks down how short-form video triggers a bigger dopamine response than a typical reward, why the unpredictability of a feed keeps us scrolling, and what that means for sleep, attention span, and memory. She shares her own strategies, including separate personal and professional Instagram accounts and the Pomodoro method for resetting focus without reaching for a screen.
The conversation turns to her research on Black women and Alzheimer's disease. Black Americans face 1.5 to 2 times the risk of white Americans, and Black women carry the highest projected prevalence of any group, a gap that shows up even among women who are upwardly mobile, largely tied to the neighborhoods they live in. Dr. Hill-Jarrett also unpacks weathering, the term coined by Arlene Geronimus for the accelerated biological aging that Black women experience, and points to research showing Black women's telomeres suggest they are roughly seven and a half years biologically older than white women at the same age.
She closes with her current work on Afrofuturism and hopefulness, including a 10-week workshop where participants imagined a future free of time scarcity and reported feeling more hopeful about shaping what comes next. Her advice for anyone worried it's too late to protect their brain: it never is.

They're also joined by Hanifa Nayo Washington, lead facilitator at Beckley Retreats, who breaks down what psychedelic-assisted care actually is, why preparation and integration are just as important as the medicine itself, and how creating a culturally affirming space specifically for Black women can transform the healing experience.

Fri, 17 Jul 2026 - 574 - Session 472: Mid-Year Astrology Check-In
The first half of the year may be behind us, but the cosmos still has plenty in store. This week, Dr. Joy is joined by astrologer Camille Michelle Gray to explore the major astrological themes that will shape the rest of 2026. Together, they chat about the biggest transits, retrogrades, and discuss how these cosmic movements may influence everything from our relationships and careers to our personal growth and our shared experiences.
Whether you're someone who checks your birth chart regularly or you're simply curious about what astrology has to say, Camille breaks down the season ahead in a way that's insightful and accessible. She explains what these astrological shifts can teach us, how to navigate periods of uncertainty with intention, and why understanding the energy of the moment can help us make more empowered decisions. Plus, Camille shares sign-by-sign guidance for the remainder of the year, highlighting what each zodiac sign should prioritize, where opportunities for growth and transformation may emerge, and what lessons the stars may be inviting us to embrace as 2026 unfolds.

Fri, 10 Jul 2026 - 572 - Session 471: America, Post-DEI
When Ambassador Gina Abercrombie-Winstanley first proposed a Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer role at the State Department, the response from HR was polite and dismissive. Years later, she came back and got the job done — on her own terms, with her own budget, her own staff, and a seat on the committee that assigns ambassadors. What she found when she got inside was not what most people assume.
Dr. Joy sits down with Ambassador Abercrombie-Winstanley — thirty-year diplomat, former US Ambassador to Malta, and the State Department's first-ever CDIO — to talk about what DEI was designed to do, what it was never meant to be, and why so much of the backlash against it is built on a misreading. They get into the mechanics of how people really get hired and promoted in elite institutions — the secret handshakes, the drug deals, the posted job that was never really open — and what it looked like when the Ambassador's office forced those positions into open competition. She also talks about the psychological toll of watching allies flip overnight once the political climate shifted, what she believes is still happening inside organizations even now, and how she's thinking about the pendulum — not to minimize this moment, but to prepare for what comes next. The conversation closes with some of the most specific career advice the show has offered: how to run your elevator pitch until it flows, when to reach out to someone on LinkedIn and what to say, and why she tells the people she mentors to bring their best self to work, not just their authentic one.

Fri, 03 Jul 2026 - 570 - Session 470: Parasocial Relationships
What do we actually get from following someone who will never know we exist? Dr. Maia Niguel Hoskin has spent her career studying that question, and on this episode she breaks down parasocial relationships: the one-sided bonds we form with influencers, celebrities, and increasingly, AI.
Dr. Joy and Dr. Hoskin trace how these relationships move differently for Black women, who are often expected to show up as the loyal supporter for a celebrity the same way they're expected to show up for everyone else in their lives. They use the backlash against the owner and founder of the global luxury fashion brand Hanifa, Anifa Mvuemba, as a case study in what happens when that loyalty curdles into an expectation that a small business owner can never have an off day, and they revisit the moment writers suggested Kanye West simply needed "a Black woman" instead of a therapist. Dr. Hoskin also shares her own boundary-setting story, stepping away from news and social media for nearly five months when her nervous system couldn't take any more, and explains why she's now teaching her counseling students about AI dependency in the same breath as social media addiction, including cases of people treating a chatbot like a romantic partner. The conversation closes on practical, no-platitude advice for knowing when a parasocial relationship has crossed the line from entertainment into something that's costing you.

Fri, 26 Jun 2026 - 568 - Session 469: The Problem with Pretty
When Dr. Allycin Powell-Hicks wanted to write her dissertation on Black women and beauty, her graduate program told her the topic wasn't serious. Her research went on to reveal something the field didn't expect: Black women reported a stronger sense of control over their bodies than white women, and the more connected a Black woman felt to her culture, the stronger that sense of control became. More than a decade later, that "unserious" research has become The Problem with Pretty (Hachette), a book about how beauty standards get wired into the brain — and how to get free of them.
Dr. Joy sits down with Dr. Ally — psychofuturist, beauty and perception expert, and founder of Doux Consulting — to unpack what's happening to self-image in the social media era. They cover the looksmaxxing phenomenon pulling in Gen Z, how "Instagram face" is flattening the diversity of faces we see, why the confidence boost after a cosmetic procedure tends to fade within months, and the difference between beauty and glamour. Dr. Ally also shares her own story, from scrubbing her skin with Comet as a kid to falling in love with her complexion at an HBCU, and makes the case for beauty as ritual, resistance, and a tool for self-definition rather than a performance for everyone else.

Fri, 19 Jun 2026 - 566 - Session 468: The Albums That Raised Us
In honor of Black Music Month, Dr. Joy sits down with two women who experienced twenty years of Black music from opposite sides of the industry. Shanti Das spent over 25 years as a marketing executive at labels like LaFace and Universal Motown, working with artists from OutKast to Prince, before founding the mental health nonprofit Silence the Shame. Ivie Ani came of age alongside the music itself — a Bronx-raised teenager replaying The Beyoncé Experience on YouTube who grew into an award-winning journalist covering music and culture for The New York Times, Pitchfork, Okayplayer, and beyond.
Together they trace the road from new music Tuesdays and 106 & Park to streaming, playlist culture, and fan communities millions deep. They revisit the albums that defined two eras — B'Day, In My Mind, Lemonade, Anti — and consider why 2016 feels like the last time we all listened together. The conversation turns to what emotional transparency costs Black women artists, how Rihanna became the blueprint for a new kind of superstar, and why the future of Black music may be taking shape in Lagos and Johannesburg as much as Atlanta and New York.

Fri, 12 Jun 2026 - 564 - Session 467: Eating While Black
If you listened to last week’s episode, we explored soul food as a living tradition. We talked about how it continues to evolve, and how we’ve used it as a tool of expression across generations. This week, we’re continuing that conversation by looking at soul food from a wider scope. I’m happy to be joined by one of the leading voices in Black food studies, Dr. Psyche A. Williams-Forson. She is an award-winning scholar and cultural historian whose work explores the connections between food, race, gender, and culture. She’s the author of ‘Eating While Black: Food Shaming and Race in America’ and ‘Building Houses out of Chicken Legs,’ where she invites us to look beyond just the food we’re consuming and ask deeper questions about who gets to define what we eat, and what those definitions say about us and our shared experiences. In this conversation she helps us understand the many ways that food can serve as a lens into cultural memory and how Black communities have created meaning and identity through what we cook and share.

Fri, 05 Jun 2026 - 562 - Session 466: Reclaiming Soul Food
When you think about the Black American experience, soul food is interwoven throughout its fabric. It carries stories and traditions across generations, and marks memories shared with people you love. And through the years, its definition has evolved and even been misunderstood by those who don’t understand its significance. Today, we’re unpacking all of that with Sierra Reece. Sierra is a culinary creator and entrepreneur focused on Black American foodways, soul food, and African diaspora cuisine. We talked about what soul food really means, how she balances tradition with experimentation, and why food can be such a powerful tool for preserving culture and identity.

Fri, 29 May 2026 - 560 - Session 465: Toni Bravo On Beauty, Boundaries, & Balance
What does it look like to build a creative career online without completely losing yourself in the process? Today I’m joined by creator and beauty influencer Toni Bravo for a conversation about creativity, visibility, rest, and the evolving relationship many of us have with work in the age of social media. During our conversation, Toni shares what it’s been like navigating visibility online, how she protects her mental health while working in such a public-facing industry, and why rest has become such an important part of her creative process.
We also discuss representation in the beauty industry, the importance of darker-skinned creators being able to take up space online, and how Toni has learned to trust herself creatively as her career continues to grow. She also opens up about burnout, boundaries with social media, mindfulness practices, and the realities of building a career where work and play can sometimes feel impossible to separate.

Fri, 22 May 2026 - 558 - Session 464: All About Colon Health
When was the last time you really thought about your colon health? For many of us, conversations about digestion, gut health, and colorectal cancer can feel uncomfortable or easy to put off—but the reality is that colorectal cancer rates are rising among younger adults, and Black communities continue to face significant disparities when it comes to diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes. Today, I’m joined by gastroenterologist and health advocate, Dr. Sophia Balzora, to talk about what we all need to know about colon health. Dr. Balzora helps break down what the colon actually does, the warning signs we shouldn’t ignore, and why early screenings can be lifesaving. We also discuss the unique ways colorectal cancer impacts Black women, how stress and diet can affect gut health, and the importance of advocating for yourself in medical spaces when something doesn’t feel right.

Fri, 15 May 2026 - 556 - Session 463: A Love Letter from Tiffany Cross
What does it mean to feel fully seen, valued, and loved—especially as a Black woman navigating relationships, ambition, and self-worth? In today’s conversation, I’m joined by journalist, political analyst, and author Tiffany Cross to discuss her new book, Love Me. Tiffany opens up about the inspiration behind the book, the complexities Black women face in dating and relationships, and the importance of reclaiming softness, joy, and vulnerability in a world that often asks us to be everything for everyone. We also explore how media narratives shape perceptions of Black women, what healthy partnership can look like, and why self-definition is such an important part of the journey toward love.

Wed, 13 May 2026 - 555 - Session 462: Going No Contact
This week I’m joined by licensed psychotherapist Dr. Natalie Jones for a thoughtful conversation about what it really means to go “no contact” with people in your life who may be causing harm. Dr. Jones brings deep expertise in trauma, boundaries, and emotional wellness, and she shares from both her clinical work and her passion for helping people build healthier relationships. In this conversation we talk about how complicated this decision can feel, especially within families and tight-knit communities, and why more of us are finding ourselves considering distance as an act of self-preservation.

Wed, 06 May 2026 - 554 - Session 461: New-Age Black Rom-Coms
This week, we’re talking all things ‘The Drama,’ and ‘You, Me, and Tuscany.’ For different reasons, both of these films, starring beloved Black women, have taken over the conversations we’re having on social and in our own circles. What do these new-age black rom-coms say about how we currently look at love and relationships? And who gets to tell those stories? We get into all of that and more in today’s episode. The conversation does contain spoilers.
But first, we are desperately in need of an emergency pop culture check-in. Dr. Joy weighs in with her thoughts on the Meg & Klay breakup, lessons from the Michael movie, and the Summer House goings-on.

Wed, 22 Apr 2026 - 551 - Session 459: The Postpartum Conversation You Need to Hear
This week, I’m joined once again by Dr. Sharon Malone for an important conversation in honor of Black Maternal Health Week. We’re digging into the realities of Black maternal health—from the historical roots of medical bias to the ways those patterns still shape our experiences today. Dr. Malone and I talk about why Black women are so often left out of the center of maternal health conversations, what we need to know about preeclampsia and other cardiovascular risks, and why half of maternal deaths happen after delivery. She also shares practical guidance for advocating for yourself when something doesn’t feel right, and what to consider even years before pregnancy.
If you’re planning for a family, supporting someone who is, or simply want to better understand the landscape of Black women’s health, this episode offers clarity, validation, and tools to help you feel more informed and empowered.

Wed, 15 Apr 2026 - 550 - Session 458: Hair, Identity & Choice
Hair always seems to be a hot topic, doesn’t it? From what style is “acceptable” to wear at work, to the politics of what’s considered “going natural,” hair is, no pun intended, always on the brain. And as Black women especially, there is so much tied to our hair–it can dictate how we’re perceived in certain spaces, signal lifestyle choices, and can reflect much more than a simple aesthetic preference.
Amidst all the hair discourse, it’s important that we reclaim the space we want (or don’t want) hair to take up in our lives. Today, I’m chatting with our Director of Podcast & Digital Content, Ellice Ellis all about my hair journey and the different shapes it’s taken throughout my life.

Wed, 08 Apr 2026 - 549 - Session 457: Exploring Sober Curiosity
At the start of a new year, it’s common to see people vow to take a month-long break from alcohol. But as research continues to uncover the toll that alcohol can take on our overall health, Dry January has evolved from a yearly challenge into a full-on lifestyle change towards mindful drinking. Now, a lot more of us are asking, “What does it look like to invite more sober moments into everyday life?” This is where the idea of sober curiosity comes in. It’s not about adopting a complete anti-alcohol mindset, but about looking at it as more of an option rather than a necessity.
Here to dive into exploring sober curiosity with us is returning guest, Kristen Feemster, LMFT. As a licensed marriage and family therapist and certified personal trainer, she aims for wellness in both physical and mental health in her work. Today we’ll chat about what sober curiosity really means and why this movement is resonating so deeply for so many of us. We’ll also talk about practical ways to step into sober curiosity and how to build a lifestyle that feels sustainable and rewarding for your overall well-being.

Tue, 31 Mar 2026 - 547 - Session 456: The Realities of High Functioning Depression
When we think about depression, there’s a common image that comes to mind–sleeping all day or not enough, withdrawing from responsibilities, and feeling an overall inability to function. And while that image is accurate, it doesn’t tell the whole story of what depression can look like. For many people, especially Black women, depression can show on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. Instead of withdrawing, we give too much, thrusting ourselves into our jobs, family responsibilities, and overcommitting to whatever keeps us constantly in motion.
This is what’s referred to as high-functioning depression and here to unpack what that really looks like is a guest you may have heard on the show before, Dr. Judith Joseph. In her book, ‘High Functioning: Overcome Your Hidden Depression and Reclaim Your Joy’, she explores how depression can hide behind competence and accomplishment, particularly for people who have been conditioned to cling to resilience in their most challenging moments.

Wed, 25 Mar 2026 - 546 - Session 455: TBG Rewind, Black Women Navigating the Glass Cliff
Lately, it feels like a lot of people are being asked to do more and more at work.Teams are stretched thin, responsibilities keep expanding, and many of us are finding ourselves carrying workloads that don’t always match the support, resources, or recognition we receive. For Black women in particular, these dynamics can show up in some very specific ways. One of them is the glass cliff, the tendency to be elevated to leadership roles during moments of crisis or instability, often when the stakes are highest, and the margin for error is very small.
For this conversation, I’m joined by leadership advisor and keynote speaker Dr. Yasmene Mumby. Dr. Mumby is the founder of The Ringgold, a firm that has helped some of the most impactful organizations in the world achieve their mission-critical organizational ambitions. We discussed what the glass cliff is, why Black women so often find themselves navigating it, and what it looks like to advocate for yourself while leading in high-pressure environments. We also discuss workplace realities many of us recognize—from navigating microaggressions and documenting your work to setting boundaries around your capacity and communicating strategically with colleagues.

Wed, 18 Mar 2026 - 545 - Session 454: Black Single Mothers
Black single mothers have long been the subject of stereotypes, political debate, and cultural criticism. For decades, narratives in media and public discourse have framed them as the root of social problems rather than recognizing the complex realities of their lives, families, and communities. Today’s guest is writer and cultural critic Jamilah Lemieux, whose work has helped shape conversations about race, gender, and culture for more than a decade. Beginning her career in the Black feminist blogosphere, Jamilah has written and edited for many major publications and has become known for her sharp cultural commentary and advocacy for Black women and girls.
In this conversation, we discuss her new book Black. Single. Mother., where she explores the realities of single motherhood through her own story as well as the stories of other Black women. We talk about the stigma attached to single mothers, the importance of community and co-parenting, how media narratives shape perceptions of Black families, and what it means to redefine family structures outside of traditional expectations.

Wed, 11 Mar 2026 - 544 - Session 453: What Speech-Language Pathologists Actually Do?
The ability to express ourselves through speech remains one of the most important ways we communicate. It’s at the root of how we connect, understand each other, and even how we explore our own identities. From childhood, we learn that what we say and how we’re able to say it can impact how we move through the world. Speech pathologists help those of us who experience challenges in expressing our thoughts and processing language. And as important as this work is, there are still disparities in who receives care.
This week we're excited to welcome Dr. Dawn Ellis, a Speech-Language Pathologist, advocate, and educator whose journey led her to a career helping children, families, and communities communicate with confidence. In this conversation, we explore language development, identity, and how communication intersects with mental health, particularly for Black women and families.

Wed, 04 Mar 2026 - 543 - Session 452: Is Having a Boyfriend Embarrassing Now? Romance, Identity & Online Culture
Where were you when the “Is Having A Boyfriend Embarrassing Now?” article dropped? Late last year when the piece dropped, it immediately took internet discourse by storm and had a lot of people in heterosexual relationships questioning and taking a deeper look into their relationships. This week we're joined by the woman behind the article, London-based writer and digital content producer Chanté Joseph, whose nuanced commentary on culture had all of us in a tizzy. Today, we’re unpacking the realities of dating in the digital age, and how women are redefining partnership as society shifts further away from patriarchy.

Wed, 25 Feb 2026 - 542 - Session 451: Student Loan Forgiveness & Reclassifying Degrees
Student loans have been a source of stress for many of us—but with recent policy changes, shifting repayment requirements, and proposed funding cuts to certain graduate programs, that stress has reached a new level. From confusion about repayment restarting, to fears about forgiveness programs disappearing, to conversations about “reclassifying” degrees like nursing, psychology, and social work, there’s a lot of information circulating—and not all of it is accurate.
To help us sort through what’s really happening and what we can actually do about it, I’m joined by Dr. Sonia Lewis, also known as The Student Loan Doctor. Dr. Lewis is a financial expert who has helped tens of thousands of borrowers navigate repayment, forgiveness, and financial strategy.

Wed, 18 Feb 2026 - 541 - Session 450: Reproductive Psychiatry
Reproductive health is often discussed in terms of our physical bodies, but what about our mental and emotional well-being across the reproductive lifespan? In today’s session, I’m joined by Dr. MiMi Sanders, a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in reproductive psychiatry, to help us better understand the unique mental health needs that can show up during menstruation, pregnancy, postpartum, fertility challenges, pregnancy loss, and menopause. We explore what reproductive psychiatry is, why it’s especially important for Black women, how mood and anxiety disorders can show up during major reproductive transitions, and what it looks like to advocate for yourself when navigating mental health care during these seasons. Dr. Sanders also breaks down common myths about medication during pregnancy and postpartum and shares what supportive, culturally responsive care should look like.

Wed, 11 Feb 2026 - 540 - Session 449: Environmental Racism & Toxic Products Explained
From wellness products, to fragrances, to the haircare many of us grew up using, Black women are routinely exposed to harmful chemicals in products marketed directly to us. So what do we do when our everyday routines are shaped by systems that often put our health at risk? These exposures don’t happen in isolation; they build over time, contributing to serious and sometimes chronic health conditions that are deeply tied to environmental racism at a systemic level. But there are changes and solutions we can implement to curb these risks that contribute to a healthier, longer life.
Here to break all of this down is Dr. Tamarra James-Todd, Epidemiologist and Professor of Environmental Reproductive Epidemiology at Harvard University. Dr. James-Todd directs the Environmental Reproductive Justice Lab, where she studies how chemicals in consumer products and our broader environment impact Black women’s health across the lifespan. Her work not only exposes the inequities in these systems, but puts a focus on empowering communities with the knowledge and tools to reduce risks of harm. Today, we’re unpacking what environmental racism really looks like, how it shows up in the products we use every day, and what it will take to protect Black women’s health.

Wed, 28 Jan 2026 - 538 - Session 447: Getting Through Friendship Breakups
Friendships are a life line for us. Friends keep our secrets, they celebrate our wins and hold us up during the difficult times. So when a friendship ends, for whatever reason there is an acute grief associated with no longer having this life line and sadly this grief is often misunderstood and minimized. Today I’m sharing some thoughts on why friendship breakups are so difficult to navigate, what kind of support you may need to get through one, and how you might know if it’s time for a friendship to end.

Wed, 21 Jan 2026 - 537 - Session 446: Should I Go Back to School? Rethinking the Grad School Urge
For many Black women, higher education has long been framed as both a pathway to security and a form of social currency. But when does the pursuit of another degree serve our growth—and when does it distract us from the work we actually want to do?
In this episode, I'm joined by Melissa Ifill, LCSW for a thoughtful conversation about the “grad school urge,” credential collecting, and the complicated relationship Black women have with education, labor, and legitimacy. Together, we explore the emotional, cultural, and political forces that push so many of us toward advanced degrees—and what it looks like to pause, reflect, and choose intentionally.

Whether you’re chronically online, or only log on to post a quarterly dump, it’s important that you know where and how the data you’re sharing on the internet is being used. Oftentimes, we accept, we say yes, and we check a box on the screen just to get to what we were looking for, but exercising choice in those moments is a crucial way to protect your identity and take control of your digital footprint.
Here to talk with us today is Camille Stewart Gloster, an attorney and strategist working at the intersection of technology, cybersecurity, national security, and foreign policy. Camille has advised top leaders in both government and policy and major companies like Google in cybersecurity practices, and I’m excited to have her on today to talk about how we can begin to protect ourselves from the risks that come with existing in digital spaces.

Wed, 24 Dec 2025 - 533 - Session 442: Healing, Grief, & Community After Netflix’s 'The Perfect Neighbor'
Content Warning:There are mentions of racial violence in this episode. If you have sensitivities around this subject, I urge you to take breaks as needed, or step away if it becomes too difficult.
In 2023, the murder of Ajike “AJ” Owens shook the country–another Black mother taken too soon in a moment of senseless and unnecessary violence. In the years since, AJ’s story as told on Netflix’s ‘The Perfect Neighbor’ has prompted a larger conversation around race, fear, Stand Your Ground laws, and the everyday realities and dangers Black families navigate in America and in their communities. But AJ was more than a victim of racial violence, she was a woman whose life was filled with love, ambition, and unapologetic hope for her children and her future.
Today, I’m pleased to be joined by two women who are integral to carrying AJ’s story forward with courage and purpose. Pamela Dias, AJ’s mother and co-founder of the Standing in the Gap Fund, has turned unfathomable grief into a mission to protect families who face race-based violence and its aftermath. Here with Pamela is her co-founder Takema Robinson, producer, and advocate for racial justice who helped bring AJ’s story to the masses.
In this conversation, we explore how their relationship formed, what it means to tell a story shaped by grief, and how storytelling, advocacy, and memory can become pathways to collective healing. We talk about community, justice, and the ongoing fight to ensure that AJ and so many others like her are not forgotten.

Wed, 17 Dec 2025 - 532 - TBGU: Reclaiming Autonomy with Kiana Ledé
For this conversation we're joined by singer-songwriter and actress Kiana Ledé for a deeply honest and heartfelt conversation about her journey with bipolar disorder, how she’s learned to navigate her diagnosis with compassion, and the ways therapy, boundaries, and connection have supported her along the way. Kiana and I also explored the emotional world of her deluxe album, Cut the Ties, and the themes of self-love, closure, and transformation that run throughout the project. She opened up about the creative process behind the music, the tenderness required to tell the truth about her experiences, and what it means to heal while still being in the public eye.

Wed, 10 Dec 2025 - 530 - SESSION 440: Producer’s Chat: Reflections, Rest & the Last Stretch of 2025
It’s that time again. Today I’m kicking back with our wonderful producer team as we reflect on 2025–what we learned, what we’re leaving behind, and dive into what it looks like to balance rest during the holiday season. As the year comes to a close, I encourage you to check in with your own circle to reflect on your year. What moments stuck with you? What was your biggest lesson? How much did you actually rest? It’s important to pause, check in, and remember that after a long year, a recharge is necessary.

Wed, 03 Dec 2025 - 529 - Session 439: ICYMI - Steadying Yourself for the Holidays
The holidays can be beautiful, stressful, joyful, and overwhelming—sometimes all at once. As we step into this season, I wanted to revisit a conversation that so many of you have told me was helpful in years past.
In this throwback episode, I'm talking about the holiday blues. I break down what it actually is, why it happens, and how to tell the difference between holiday blues and major depression. Most importantly, I'm walking through six practical tips you can use right now to help you move through the holidays with more intention and less stress. I hope this episode meets you where you are.

Wed, 26 Nov 2025 - 528 - Session 438: Black Memory Work & Healing
As we head into the holidays, many of us will encounter old memories and create new ones. You may spend time recounting stories from your childhood, learning a new line dance, or even taking orders in the kitchen on how to make a family recipe. Memory-keeping has long been a practice for humans across the globe, but for Black people, those traditions look different. And in the age of technology, the way memories are created, stored, and used introduce a new set of questions around who gets to call them their own.
This week we're joined by Dr. Tonia Sutherland. Currently a professor and dean at UCLA, she’s dedicated her research to unpacking the uniqueness of Black memory work. And in her book, ‘Resurrecting the Black Body: Race and the Digital Afterlife,’ she digs into how technology, history, and data longevity affect how we practice archivism, and how those practices impact our digital afterlives.

Wed, 12 Nov 2025 - 526 - Session 436: The Sibling Sit-Down w/ Skylar Marshai & Sunlyn Chiraya
Welcome back to another episode of our sibling sit-down series. I hope you’ve been enjoying it so far. We’ve answered sibling questions, broken down various sibling dynamics, so it’s only right that we sit down to chat with some actual siblings.
This week, we're excited to welcome Skylar Marshai and Sunlyn Chiraya, a sister duo finding new ways to learn and love each other. We discuss the evolution of their relationship, the relationship with the rest of their siblings, explore how they resolve conflict, and get into what it really means to grow alongside someone who’s seen every version of you. From childhood memories to creative projects, Skylar and Sunlyn open up about the joys and challenges of sisterhood, how communication has transformed their bond, and what they’ve learned about giving each other grace.

Wed, 05 Nov 2025 - 525 - Session 435: Breaking Down Sibling Dynamics
Welcome back to the second episode of our “Sibling Sit-Down” series, where we’re exploring sibling relationships and all the factors that shape the emotional dynamics created between them. Today, we're joined by Támara Hill, licensed clinical child and family therapist who has built an online platform by making mental health information accessible to the masses. We’re getting into questions like, what happens when siblings fall into familiar roles? How can parents nurture healthy relationships among their children? And what can adult siblings do to heal old wounds and strengthen their bonds? With so many elements in the mix, no one set of siblings has the same relationship as another.

Wed, 29 Oct 2025 - 524 - Session 434: Ask Dr. Joy - The Sibling Sit Down
This week, we're kicking off a new mini-series here on the podcast that we're calling The Sibling Sit Down. Over the next couple of weeks, we will be digging into the bonds that have formed us and shaped us, the relationships that challenge us, and everything in between. We have found that the relationship with our siblings is often very formative — some of the most formative relationships we will have in our lives.
We don't talk about them that much, and so we're hoping that with this mini-series, we can change that narrative just a little. In this first episode, it's an Ask Dr. Joy episode where I will be answering questions that have been submitted by our community members over in our Patreon channel.
Ask Dr. Joy is typically an exclusive Patreon series, but we thought we'd bring it over here to the podcast to kick off this special mini-series all about siblings.
Today, we're tackling three powerful questions:
How do you navigate grief while honoring the bond you had with a sibling? How do you build healthy bonds in blended families with new siblings? How do you heal a volatile or contentious sibling relationship?About the Podcast

Wed, 22 Oct 2025 - 523 - Session 433: Erykah Badu x Jill Scott- 25 Years of Mama’s Gun & Who Is Jill Scott?
This week we’re celebrating two iconic albums that have shaped the sound and soul of a generation, Erykah Badu’s Mama’s Gun and Jill Scott’s Who Is Jill Scott? Words and Sounds Vol. 1, both turning 25 this year. Joining us for this nostalgic and soul-filled conversation is Taryn Finley, journalist and founder of the Unbothered platform. During this conversation, we explore how these albums captured the essence of Black womanhood, love, sensuality, and self-discovery, and why they remain powerful touchstones for healing and self-expression today. We also talk about the emotional honesty both artists brought to their music and how their art continues to inspire new generations to embrace softness, vulnerability, and joy.

Wed, 15 Oct 2025 - 522 - BONUS: How Traveling Alone Can Spark Self-Discovery
Seeing the world as a solo traveler pushes you to show up in a way only you can, as your most authentic self. And while the experience can be daunting, it welcomes opportunities for self-exploration and discovery. To be pushed out of your comfort zone in a place that’s not your home is a gift filled with moments that are sure to sharpen and evolve your mental health.
In new and unfamiliar environments, you’re forced to rely on your instincts, make decisions independently, and answer the question, “What do I want?” The clarity that comes with being alone in the noise of a new city is the kind of clarity that can be hard to find in the busyness of our day-to-day lives. It’s in those quiet moments that can reveal new parts of ourselves.
This is the final episode in our series of bonus episodes, presented by our partners at Chase Sapphire Reserve, focusing on travel, mental health, and the power of putting joy at the center of your life. We hope you've enjoyed them.

Thu, 09 Oct 2025 - 521 - Session 432: The Impacts of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
Today, we’re diving into a topic that’s transforming how we understand public health education in this country: childhood trauma and its lifelong impact on the brain and body. For decades, adverse childhood experiences, or ACEs, like abuse, neglect, or exposure to violence, were often seen as just social or emotional issues. But research has revealed the science of something much deeper: these experiences can rewire a child’s developing stress response system, leading to increased risks of chronic disease, mental health disorders, substance dependence, and even incarceration later in life.
Joining us for this conversation is someone who’s pioneered the charge in translating that science into statewide action. As California’s very first Surgeon General, Dr. Nadine Burke Harris helped put childhood trauma at the center of public health policy. She not only trained tens of thousands of providers to screen for ACEs, but pushed for major changes like linking juvenile justice reform to health equity. Dr. Burke Harris She brings a clinician’s insight and an advocate’s persistence to a conversation that challenges us to think bigger about prevention, healing, and what it really means to create environments that build holistically healthy and stable children.

Tue, 07 Oct 2025 - 519 - BONUS: Navigating Friendship Dynamics on Group Trips
Group travel can create incredible memories and deeper friendships, but it also exposes relationship dynamics that usually stay hidden. When you're sharing rooms and splitting costs, those little friendship quirks get magnified. The indecisive friend becomes a bigger challenge when deciding dinner plans. Budget conversations can't be avoided anymore.
Here's the thing: when done thoughtfully, group travel can actually strengthen your bonds. It requires honest upfront conversations about money, boundaries, and expectations. It helps you recognize not just your travel style, but how you show up as a friend under pressure.
Everyone brings their unique role on the trip, and recognizing these patterns transforms group dynamics. It's about creating space for authentic communication and developing skills to navigate challenges together.
Stay tuned for more from this series of bonus episodes, presented by our partners at Chase Sapphire Reserve, focusing on travel, mental health, and the power of putting joy at the center of your life.

Wed, 01 Oct 2025 - 517 - BONUS: Reclaiming Joy Through Solo Travel
In this episode, Dr. Joy explores the cultural and societal messaging that tells Black women they must constantly prove their worth through productivity and self-sacrifice. She shares how travel, particularly solo travel, can be a radical act of self-care and joy. This episode is a reminder that rest is not something to be earned—it is a right. Whether you're planning your next trip or simply need a moment to breathe, this conversation invites you to choose joy now, not later.
Stay tuned for more from this series of bonus episodes, presented by our partners at Chase Sapphire Reserve, focusing on travel, mental health, and the power of putting joy at the center of your life.

Thu, 25 Sep 2025 - 516 - Session 430: Re-Living Single with Erika Alexander & Kim Coles
This week we’re joined by cultural icons Erika Alexander and Kim Coles, two of the stars of the beloved 90s sitcom Living Single. Now co-hosts of the Re-Living Single podcast, Erika and Kim are taking a walk down memory lane, revisiting the episodes that made us laugh, cry, and feel seen.
During this conversation, they share what it’s been like to reconnect with their characters and each other, unpacking the highs and lows of fame, the challenges they faced as Black women in the entertainment industry, and the mental health journeys that shaped them both on and off-screen. From navigating rejection and typecasting to learning how to prioritize their healing, Erika and Kim offer a vulnerable, powerful reflection on sisterhood, creativity, and the importance of telling our own stories.

Wed, 24 Sep 2025 - 515 - Session 429: The Double Tax
When it comes to marginalized intersectional identities, Black women and women of color are no stranger. But if we zoom out, what does that experience look like across systems, access, and paychecks? Today we're excited to be joined by economist, advocate, and author Anna Gifty. She’s here to talk about her new book, ‘The Double Tax: How Women of Color Are Overcharged and Underpaid,’ a powerful, data-driven exploration of the hidden costs of being both a woman and a racial minority in today’s economy. During this conversation, we dive into the concept of the “double tax,” the systemic forces that undervalue women of color, and what it means to work towards an economy that truly works for everyone.

Wed, 17 Sep 2025 - 514 - Session 428 ICYMI: Increasing Sexual Confidence
We can't let September go by without acknowledging Sex Positive September. Over the years, we've done dozens of episodes exploring sexual liberation, sexuality, and sexual health, so we wanted to pull from our archives to bring you this essential conversation.
In this episode, Dr. Pia Goff joins us to get real about what chips away at our sexual confidence, why some of us struggle with arousal and pleasure, and how to actually talk to your partner about what you need. Plus, she breaks down sensate focused therapy and how it's helping couples reconnect. This conversation is all about reclaiming your confidence and your pleasure – which is exactly what Sex Positive September is about.

Wed, 10 Sep 2025 - 513 - Session 427: Immigration Justice
This week, we’re discussing a crisis that’s disrupting lives across the country: the escalating wave of deportations tearing families apart and dismantling the fragile sense of safety many immigrants cling to. For this conversation I’m joined by Catherine Labiran, a writer, organizer, and research manager whose work lives at the intersections of immigration justice, Black liberation, and mental health. Catherine has spent her career advocating for Black immigrants whose stories are too often erased from national conversations. During our conversation, Catherine and I discussed the emotional toll of migration, the resilience of African and Caribbean diasporic communities, and explored the ways art, community care, and protecting joy become lifelines in the face of racism and erasure.

Wed, 03 Sep 2025 - 512 - Session 426: Understanding GLP-1s
This week, Dr. Fatima Cody Stanford joins us for a compassionate conversation about weight, health, and healing. We're exploring why obesity should be understood as a chronic disease, not a moral failing, and discussing new treatment options like GLP-1 medications that are changing lives.
Dr. Stanford is an obesity medicine Physician-Scientist at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. What makes her perspective so valuable is that she understands the unique experiences of Black women navigating weight and health in a world that often judges us harshly. As one of the few Black women leading research in this field, she sees how chronic stress, systemic barriers, and generational trauma show up in our bodies in ways that traditional medicine has often overlooked. During our conversation, we talk about the science behind weight regulation, how new medications actually work, and why it's time to move beyond BMI as the only measure of health.

Wed, 27 Aug 2025 - 511 - Session 425: Understanding OCD
Have you ever heard someone casually say “I’m so OCD” just because they like things neat and organized? That kind of language often oversimplifies a serious mental health condition and can make it harder for those living with OCD to be seen and understood. Today, we’re digging into what Obsessive Compulsive Disorder actually is and how it uniquely impacts Black women. Dr. Jameeka Moore joins us again for this conversation. During the conversation, we explore what OCD looks like beyond the stereotypes, the ways it often goes unrecognized or misdiagnosed in Black women, and how effective treatment can help. Dr. Moore also offers insights on supporting loved ones with OCD and tips for finding culturally responsive care.

Wed, 20 Aug 2025 - 510 - Session 424: Autoimmune Conditions & Community Health Advocacy
This week we're bringing attention to a topic that doesn’t always get the space or care it deserves: the mental, emotional, and physical toll of living with a severe autoimmune condition. Joining me for this conversation is Dr. Martine Hackett, a public health expert and the host of the podcast "Untold Stories: Life with a Severe Autoimmune Condition". In her show, she shares her own experience navigating chronic illness while also holding space for others who live with conditions that are often invisible but deeply impactful. During our conversation we discussed the ways chronic illness intersects with race, gender, and health equity, and how all of that shows up in the body and mind. If you or someone you love is managing a chronic condition, this conversation is for you.

Wed, 13 Aug 2025 - 509 - Session 423: Building A Creative, Family-Centered Life
Balancing a career and family life isn’t always easy, but it is possible. Today, I’m joined by actor, producer, author, and podcast creator Tika Sumpter. A true multi-hyphenate, her career continues to thrive. Since becoming a mother, she’s embraced her creativity even more, defying the societal expectation that women should scale back their ambitions after motherhood. Through her company Fort Sumpter, she has thrust herself into amplifying the experiences of mothers and children. And after releasing children’s media like her debut book ‘I Got It From My Mama’ and podcast ‘The Adventures of Curiosity Cove,’ Tika is rewriting the narrative on what it means to realize your dreams while raising a family.

Wed, 06 Aug 2025 - 508 - Session 422: The Work of Mental Health Co-Responders
This week’s guest is Renée Bryan, a Licensed Professional Counselor and educator with a Master's in Education from Mercer University and a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Richmont Graduate University. What makes Renée's work particularly compelling is her role as a mental health co-responder with law enforcement. This growing field many mental health professionals may not even know exists. In today's conversation, we explore what it's like to ride alongside police officers daily, responding to mental health crises in real-time.
Renée takes us inside the day-to-day realities of co-response work, from gas station interventions to family crises, sharing the de-escalation strategies that work in the field and the safety protocols that protect both clinicians and community members. We discuss the challenges of navigating different professional languages between mental health and law enforcement, the current state of community mental health resources, and how this collaborative model is achieving a 98% diversion rate from incarceration to treatment.

Tue, 29 Jul 2025 - 506 - Session 421: PsychoHairapy, Exploring Hair & Mental Health
This week, we are joined by Dr. Afiya Mbilishaka, a clinical psychologist, hairstylist, professor, and the founder of “PsychoHairapy,” an innovative approach that uses hair care as an entry point into mental health in the Black community. As Black women, our hair is more than just what’s at the surface. It shapes identity, signals care, and holds cultural memory. In our conversation, Dr. Afiya and I dig into the deep, emotional, and historically nuanced ties we have to our hair, and how that relationship can mirror our mental health.

Wed, 23 Jul 2025 - 505 - Session 420: Play Theory
This week we're joined by award-winning scholar, ethnomusicologist, and cultural anthropologist Dr. Kyra Gaunt to explore the powerful intersections of music, play, and identity in the lives of Black girls and women. Dr. Gaunt, author of The Games Black Girls Play: Learning the Ropes from Double-Dutch to Hip-Hop, offers a brilliant breakdown of how musical play, like hand games, cheers, and jump rope rhymes, does more than entertain. It becomes a form of cultural transmission, identity-building, and resistance for Black girls navigating their earliest social worlds.

Wed, 16 Jul 2025 - 504 - Session 419: ICYMI | Some Thoughts On Playing Small
Today, we’re throwing it back to Session 321 — Some Thoughts On Playing Small.
This quick episode was inspired by a line from Issa Dee, the beloved character played by Issa Rae in Insecure: “How much different would your life be if you actually went after what you wanted?” It’s a question that feels especially relevant now as we head into summer. The days are longer, the sun is out, and so many of us are ready to stretch, grow, and shine a little brighter. So, what would it look like to stop shrinking and give yourself permission to take up more space, both at work and in your daily life, as well as in your relationships and dreams?
I hope this episode encourages you to reflect on where you might be playing small and how you can start showing up more fully for yourself.

Wed, 09 Jul 2025 - 503 - Session 418: Navigating Flight Anxiety
We’re stepping into summer, and vacation season is in full swing. For many, that means excitement, adventure, and a packed travel itinerary. But for others, especially when it comes to flying, it can stir up a lot of anxiety. With everything we’ve seen in the news this year, those feelings might be new, or more intense than ever. In today’s episode, we’re talking about how to navigate flight anxiety so it doesn’t get in the way of the special moments and experiences that matter most. To help us explore ways to manage and move through this anxiety, this week we're joined by Dr. Angela Neal-Barnett . She is a professor of Psychological Science at Kent State University and the author of ‘Soothe Your Nerves: The Black Woman's Guide to Understanding and Overcoming Anxiety, Panic, and Fear.’ We're also joined by Aviation professional and Flight Attendant Isaiah Peters, who provides some helpful tips for tackling a fear of flying and shares how his own experience in the skies has shaped his approach to supporting anxious travelers.

Wed, 02 Jul 2025 - 502 - Session 417: Black Music Month - Artists Redefining the Norm w/ Mankaprr Conteh & Delisa Shannon
We couldn’t let this month go by without having a conversation about one of my favorite things, music. While we’re only halfway through the year, there have already been so many major moments, from iconic performances to albums that push past genre limitations. These culturally-defining moments have all been sparked by artists we love, and we’d be remiss not to celebrate the ongoing impact of Black artists in music.
In honor of Black Music Month, we're joined by Mankaprr Conteh, staff writer at Rolling Stone, and Delisa Shannon, short-form content director at Billboard. Together, we unpacked some of the standout moments of 2025 so far, talk about the artists who are redefining the rules, and reflect on what Black music continues to teach us about innovation, identity, and joy.

Fri, 20 Jun 2025 - 499 - Session 416: Navigating BDSM & Kink As A Black Woman
Dr. Lana Holmes, who you may remember from Session 222: How Horror Films Help Us Process Life, joins us again to explore sexuality through the lens of kink and BDSM practices often misunderstood but rich with opportunities for healing, agency, and reclaiming pleasure. We unpack common myths, discuss how these communities prioritize communication, boundaries, and consent, and challenge the racialized and gendered stereotypes that have long shaped Black women’s relationships with their own desires. This episode invites listeners to break past taboo narratives and embrace fuller, more authentic expressions of sexuality.

Wed, 18 Jun 2025 - 498 - Session 415: Black Panther Woman
This week we’re joined by Mary Frances Phillips, a scholar-activist, public intellectual, and Associate Professor of African American Studies at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her interdisciplinary research agenda focuses on race and gender in post-1945 social movements and the carceral state. Her scholarly interests include the Modern Black Freedom Struggle, Black Feminism, and Black Power Studies.
Her first book Black Panther Woman chronicles the life and spiritual practices of Ericka Huggins, a founding member of the Black Panther Party and the first woman to hold a leadership role within the movement. Unpacking her unlawful arrest, latent queerness, and journey from resistance warrior to revolutionary; Dr. Phillips helps close the gap on how some of the movement philosophy of the past has made its way into the current day.

Wed, 04 Jun 2025 - 496 - Session 413: All About Gut Health
Gut health is one of those wellness terms we hear all the time, and honestly, it’s popular for a reason. Our gut isn’t just about digestion. Like the rest of our organs, it’s connected to the brain, which means it can both reflect and impact our mental well-being. The gut-brain connection shows up in everyday life. Feeling queasy before a big meeting? Or so stressed you don’t have an appetite? The two are always in constant conversation whether we realize it or not. So today, I’m excited to welcome nutritional psychiatrist Dr. Andy Watkins to the show to help us demystify all things gut health. We’re chatting about what it actually means to take care of your gut and how doing so can help support your mood and your mind.

Wed, 28 May 2025 - 495 - TBG U: Understanding Entrepreneurship
Alyssa Ashley, founder of In Real Life Skin, was raised in a traditional West Indian household where self-care was embraced as a holistic lifestyle rather than a simple routine. From a young age, she incorporated natural ingredients like pomegranate extract, magnesium, and vitamin E into her diet and skincare, discovering their powerful benefits for both physical and emotional well-being.
Alyssa identified a missing link between agriculture, beauty, and wellness. This insight led to the creation of In Real Life Skin, a brand rooted in the principles of neurocosmetics and designed to promote skin health, emotional balance, and sustainability. Her vision centers on reflecting real life through skincare by offering plant-based products and resources that foster healthy habits, emotional wellness, and authentic community connections.
In this episode, Alyssa opens up about the realities of leaving a corporate 9-5 job in order to pursue starting your own business.. We’re talking about self-discovery, sacrifice, entrepreneurial affirmations, and understanding how your business is connected to your inner child. So if you have been trying to figure out how to make the jump from employee to employer or are just fascinated by the story behind founders, this one’s for you.

Tue, 27 May 2025 - 494 - Session 412: How to Spend Time Alone
These days, we talk a lot about community, and for good reason. But it’s important to remember that spending time alone is just as important. So what does it actually look like to enjoy your own company? Alone time isn’t just about being by yourself, it’s about slowing down, reconnecting, and noticing what comes up when you’re not in constant dialogue with the world around you. And although for some it may be uncomfortable and a little anxiety-inducing, when done with intention it can be incredibly rewarding. That’s why today I’m excited to discuss how making space for solitude in our busy lives can help us feel more at home in ourselves.
If something resonates with you from this conversation, please share it with us on social media using the hashtag #TBGInSession. Or join us in our Patreon channel to talk more in-depth about the episode. You can join us at community.therapyforblackgirls.com.
